    You say 'Hail Klom Jysun'

Klom Jysun says 'Pleasure to meet you Isola. I am Klom Jysun, Grandmaster of the Ashen Order. I have lived in the great city of Freeport for quite sometime now and have watched the city evolve and change. Nowadays though I am in charge of training new members of the Ashen Fist. If you are a young monk and are in need of some armor I might have some work for you. Are you a [monk]?'

You say, 'I am a monk'

Klom Jysun says 'I am always pleased when a new disciple visits our sacred halls. If you are [interested] in crafting your own armor I have a number of gathering tasks for you to do that will test both your navigational and fighting skills.'

You say, 'I am interested in armor'

Klom Jysun says 'I am very pleased to here about your interest in proving your worth to the Ashen Order. First let me present you with this Fistfighters Loom. Inside of it you will combine [various components] to form armor materials. Once you have a material for a certain piece of armor you will combine it in a Loom along with the appropriate pattern. When you inform me what piece of armor you [want] to craft, I will be able to present you with the component recipe and pattern needed for crafting it.'

    You say, 'What various components'

Klom Jysun says 'The items you will need to collect are all over the Freeport area, some in stores some off vicious monsters. If you are up for the challenge though I will be able to provide you with the armor recipes and patterns for Stonehand [Caps], [Bracers], [Sleeves], [Sandals], [Trousers], [Gloves] and [Robes]. All you will need to do is tell me what piece of armor you [want] to craft, and I will be able to present you with the component recipe and pattern needed for crafting it.'

You say, 'I want to craft a robe'

Klom Jysun says 'Your robe is essential to your armor set and I am very pleased to hear that you are ready to craft it. To create your robe material you will need to combine 5 Matted Lion Pelts, 1 High Quality Cat Pelt, 1 Lioness Mane, 1 Leaf Scarab Carapace, 1 Giant Scarab Brain and 1 Cloth Shirt in your assembly kit. Once you have created the proper material take it to a Loom along with this mold to fashion your very own Robe of the Stonehand. Please come back to see me after you have completed your robe, I have a [favor] to ask of you.'

    You say, 'What favor?'

Klom Jysun says 'I had a student not too long ago that trained with me for quite sometime. He showed a lot of promise on his way to becoming a Grandmaster, however one day he came to tell me that he intended on joining the militia. I told him that I did not feel that was what he wanted to do but he insisted. On the day that he left he stole a headband from me that I was presented with by the Hall of Truth. This headband meant a lot to me, if you were able to find Firansad I am sure he will have it. Return it to me with 2 Orc Toes and I will surely reward you for your trouble.'

Turn in headband and 2 orc toes:

Klom Jysun says, 'Your dedication to the Ashen Fist is unquestioned. I can see this by your willingness to assist me in whatever task I assigned you. I would like you to take this as a symbol of my gratitude.'
Your faction standing with Ashen Order has been adjusted by 25.
Your faction standing with Knights of Truth has been adjusted by 3.
Your faction standing with Silent Fist Clan has been adjusted by 1.
    You gain experience!

Since were humans, will killing this guy take a HUGE faction with the guards?

Not a large faction hit so go ahead and kill this guy.

    # Sep 23 2003 at 7:53 AM Rating: Decent
If you want to take him down then root him. You will need a friend to do this (obviously :-)). It's not silly hit points that makes this guy so dangerous, it's the damage that he deals. Either that or wait until you are a lot higher.

This is the same principal as for the Squire Narl section for the Pally's token quest. They are undercons. The guard can be beaten quite easily if he cons the right level to go, no surprises from him.

    Lion Mane
    # Nov 06 2002 at 3:27 AM Rating: Decent
    Lion mane not lioness.

Also if anyone can solo this at lvl 8 they are a twink....the guy needed to kill for this quest is red at 8, red at 9 , yellow at 10, which if you can do math, he is even at 12...and another thing, there are 2 militia guards with him and if you touch him they agro you. I didnt con guards at lvl 10 so I suggest finding a chanter friend to charm them so you can pull him far enough away to kill.

Where do you get the "lioness mane" and the "Leaf Scarab Carapace"? The lionesses drop "lion mane" and the leaf scarabs drop "Scarab Carapace"? I've been killing them all day - enough for four HQ Cat Pelts - and nothing....

I tried killing him at 11. Some kind druid had cast Skin Like Nature, Chloro and SOW on me, so thought I'd have a go at it. He conned even. I waited until all of the nearby guards had run out of their huts, chasing a bear that had wandered by, and then I smacked him and pulled him to the FP zoneline.

Even with chloro and kiting, it was obvious there was no way I could kill him...he hits too hard, too fast, and he apparently can block, I rarely landed a hit on him. I never got him below 4.5 bubbles of health. Finally just gave up and zoned. I'll wait till my high teens before trying again, or will try to convince a group to help hehe.

Doubt it, but then again not everyone is heavily twinked out & those who are will never fully enjoy the challenges a true Monk faces throughout their life.

    # Jul 24 2002 at 1:59 AM Rating: Decent
Be careful around old Firansad, when i was a young troll killing the lvl 11 guards in the hut by him, I decided to go for him, he conned even at 13, so hey, lets give him a shot....bad idea. He is a mad undercon and hits for around 21 each time, I died, I didn't seem to mind though, I came back as a bigger troll a week or so later and he was crying, he drops the Klom's Headband, a yellow looking, no drop lore (I think it's lore at least) all all headband. I was wondering what it was when a little newbie monk wanders up and says "Did he drop a headband" Of course I gave the young'n the headband for his quest, I may be a troll, but I'm still nice. Anyways, if u want to attempt to take this guy down, get a higher lvl to do it, he's no bother, unless slate decides to drop by and say hello that is. YAAAAAAAAAR

you people always say he will kill you. all you have to do is find a higher lvl friend to take care of the guards and that leaves you all alone with this dude and btw he was pretty easy to my 21 monk

as stated below. this is light weight and magic. and so on. decent. I think id prefer the polished simply the what 50 hit points? and stats? and all. I have 2, slapping them in my hands is like a heal. I did however go out to maidens eye at like level 7. and someone let me loot the 8/18 gorona war staff. I think it weighs 2.0 ? its rather nice. Its not lore but PRIMARY only which blows.

this weapon excedes the bare fist dmg/delay ratio until you reach 20th level when you hands become 8/36 weapons, though it will still be usefull in training up HTH and Dual Wield.

those orc toes can't be that rare, I zoned into Nro to find them and followed a guy for three minutes, he killed 3 orc raiders right out of the tunnel from EC, and two had toes

and by the way, the sister quest weapon from silent fists is excellent, my attack speed increased dramatically with negligible loss of damage, the addition of this one to my inventory will make my FISTS GO FASTA!

Firansad is in the abandoned in near the Nek zone, in the west most building. Little note, he coned blue to my 20 druid when I was looking for him, and when it came to killing him, the nearby guards came to his aid.

#Anonymous, Posted: Jun 29 2002 at 11:11 PM, Rating: Sub-Default, (Expand Post) That whole quest is bull. The weapon is weak. I say forget it and get a Knuckle Duster, Fist of Horn, or another hand to hand weapon. Pure waste of time.

Firansad cons green to my level 20 Monk and he beat me three out of three times, be very careful with him. He hits fast which makes timing FD difficult but do-able, just don't leave it to late as it may not work first time. (I hate fighting other Monks, we're too good!)

Getting rid of the other guards is easy just tag a wandering snake, YK, shadow wolf, etc. Anything that will keep them occupied for a few rounds (but not a Griffen, that was a catastrophic failure <grin>). Pull it over to their side of the camp and FD to break its aggro. When the guards engage it attack Firansad and drag him out of the camp on the other side and you can have him on his own.

    not too bad
    # Jun 03 2002 at 7:25 AM Rating: Default
Overrated. Just split the one guard that assists the monk, kill or zone off. Pull the quest monk to Nek Zoneline and beat him down. Used this approach with a 16 magi n pet and me, 14 monk. Dead in 7 seconds.

Toes are rare in Nro off Orc Raiders. Same magi and I killed 50 easy in 2 hours..all feet, no toes.

Nice weap for new monks on KB server.

I found toes about 1 out of 5 orcs I killed within freeport and east commons. So if you have problems in Nro..try these places.
#Anonymous, Posted: May 20 2002 at 3:42 PM, Rating: Sub-Default, (Expand Post) Why the hell would a monk want to do this Quest? No, I'm not ******** about how crappy the item is, I'm saying that if you are a monk, then You DON'T want a weapon for your main hand until 40! WHY? Because until you get the 40+ special monk weapons, your hands are ALOT stronger than any f*cking weapon! That's why, Dammit!!

? huh? you ever play a monk? you got it bass ackwards (think about it.. you'll get it =P). AFTER 40 your hth ratio is awesome.. at the beginning a pair of good 1hbs or 2hbs are much much preferable.. let's say you do this quest at.. 15. Your HtH ratio being a human is 7/36. Not that amazing. Not sure what the ratio on this one is.. but if the delay is even SLIGHTLY lower than 36, then toss it in secondary to raise dual weild faster (don't care what you've heard.. delay IS checked in secondary..) Now after lvl 40 you have a 12/32 hand to hand ratio on your bare hands.. so yes they can be quite nice.. although there are still better. Plus. as the other anonymous poster said, train hth, 1hb, and 2hb or you're gonna be mad when that trance stick drops, or a tstaff falls in your lap.

Err no, if you are a monk you want to be sure to train all your attack skills while levelling, until you get 50+ when your hands become decent weapons

    How to kill him
    # May 19 2002 at 2:38 AM Rating: Default
This is how you can kill this major undercon of a mob. (I did it with me, 11 monk, 19 bard, 14 shaman, and 12 druid, and only I took faction hit)

Get sow on everyone. Get bard to pull and kite using nukes. Once he is 3/4 hp, get the druid to snare and shaman to dot him like crazy. then nuke till he's low, and everyone who doesn't want faction hit zones. He will either pop back at his spawn point, or stand still or walk away. Make sure you (the monk) hit him some time before he spawns back just in case. He will die to the dot, and you got your easy kill. Took about 45 sec to kill him this way.

For the lvl needed to do this quest - Firansad is a huge undercon and the guards join him, killed me quickly at 18 :P - this thing is crap. It is best to just buy a Ulak, Heavy Iron Ulak is better than this, 8/34 w/ a bunch of stats, cheap too 1gp on merchants and a couple plat from players. If you can afford one, buy a Polished Steel Ulak 9/27 and 3 times the stats of Heavy Iron. Polished Steel is coming down too, 50pp now.
    RE: Crap
    # May 12 2002 at 4:12 AM Rating: Default
The last thing a newbie wants is a slow delay weapon, my untwinked monk with full stonehand and going to get this uses a 3 22 h2h primary, and this makes a decent ratio offhand to speed up dual wield training. Will admit the undercon though, chased my 16 ranger and beat him like a poor poor halfling ranger. If you can get the people to help get the headband though its a fine newbie weapon. Heck my beastie has a 5 20 offhand weapon he uses to great effect at 22, so I can see that lasting atleast that long.
