where does one 1 Large Leaf Scarab Leg come from?
i have been killing a sand scarbs is there a large one also??

I have spent many hours on the battlefield in service of our glorious god however these days I spend my time training new [recruits].' You say, 'What recruits' Salinsa Delfdosan says 'Well you see sense I am such a well seasoned adventurer my knowledge is very helpful to the young members of our house. That is why I have developed a system of hunting and gathering assignments that reward the new recruit with a set of armor that they work very hard to craft themselves. Are you a [young cleric of House Marr]? If so I will be happy to offer my assignments to you.' You say, 'I am a young cleric of Marr' Salinsa Delfdosan says 'Great! Let me first begin by explaining how you will be creating your own armor. You will use this magical kit I have presented you with to gather numerous [recipe components]. Your magical kit will be used to gather specific materials that will form together in certain numbers and quantities to create an armor material. You must then take the material you have fashioned to a forge along with armor molds that I will supply you with to create your armor.' You say, 'What recipe components' Salinsa Delfdosan says 'There are many different items that you will need to collect for your material components in all areas surrounding Freeport and our temple. I will be able to supply you with the mold for any armor piece you [want] to craft. I have the molds and recipes necessary for [Helms], [Bracers], [Armguards], [Boots], [Greaves], [Gauntlets] and [Breastplates]. When you are ready to craft a piece simply tell me what piece you would like to craft. For example if you wanted to create boots you would say, 'I want to craft boots.' You say, 'I want to craft boots' Salinsa Delfdosan says 'Boots are one of your more important armor pieces I must say. To create your boot material you will need to combine 3 Bricks of Crude Iron Ore, 1 Large Leaf Scarab Leg , 2 Spiderling Eyes in your assembly kit. Once you have created the proper material take it to a forge along with this mold to fashion your very own Boots of the Ordained.' Large leaf scarabs are in East commonlands, i don't know of anywhere else.
Odd as it may seem, a Large Leaf Scarab Leg is dropped by...A Large Leaf Scarab.

My cleric is a level 5 cleric of Marr and she won't respond when I hail her.

This armor says that it will fit half elf clerics but there are NO half elf clerics. This is a program glitch. It should have been for humans and high elf clerics. Have reported the bug but others should also.
This would be more of an oversight of the programming than a glitch. High Elves have their own armor (Though they maynto have when this was posted), and I think the programmers simply made all human armor also Half Elf wearable, because Half elves have no armor or cities of their own.

When you try to combine the ingredients in the container given to you, it gives you a message about "Not being able to comine these items in this container type". A did a /petition and the GM lookied into it and verified that the quest was indeed broken, and that it would have to be fixed in a patch. Also, he told me that in the future use the /bug feature instead of /petition to report broken quests.

Is there a level of smithing ability required to create these, if so, how much?

There is not smithing ability involved when making these items. Just do what it says and There you Go! You have just made your very own armor. I did this quest (paladin version) and got some good armor out of the deal. Its really great for newbies.

You don't need smithing skill to make these items, but it does increase your smithing ability. Mine improved to 1 by doing 3 of the armor quests.
