You say 'Hail Klom Jysun'

Klom Jysun says 'Pleasure to meet you Isola. I am Klom Jysun, Grandmaster of the Ashen Order. I have lived in the great city of Freeport for quite sometime now and have watched the city evolve and change. Nowadays though I am in charge of training new members of the Ashen Fist. If you are a young monk and are in need of some armor I might have some work for you. Are you a [monk]?'

You say, 'I am a monk'

Klom Jysun says 'I am always pleased when a new disciple visits our sacred halls. If you are [interested] in crafting your own armor I have a number of gathering tasks for you to do that will test both your navigational and fighting skills.'

You say, 'I am interested in armor'

Klom Jysun says 'I am very pleased to here about your interest in proving your worth to the Ashen Order. First let me present you with this Fistfighters Loom. Inside of it you will combine [various components] to form armor materials. Once you have a material for a certain piece of armor you will combine it in a Loom along with the appropriate pattern. When you inform me what piece of armor you [want] to craft, I will be able to present you with the component recipe and pattern needed for crafting it.'

You say, 'What various components'

Klom Jysun says 'The items you will need to collect are all over the Freeport area, some in stores some off vicious monsters. If you are up for the challenge though I will be able to provide you with the armor recipes and patterns for Stonehand [Caps], [Bracers], [Sleeves], [Sandals], [Trousers], [Gloves] and [Robes]. All you will need to do is tell me what piece of armor you [want] to craft, and I will be able to present you with the component recipe and pattern needed for crafting it.'

You say, 'I want to craft a trousers'

Klom Jysun says 'Trousers are a definite must for any Initiate of the Ashen Fist. You will learn to generate some attacks using your legs later in your training that is why it is necessary that you keep them in as best shape as possible. To create your trouser material you will need to combine 4 Matted Lion Pelts, 1 Cutthroat Insignia Ring, 1 Spider Venom Sac and 1 Cracked Giant Scarab Carapace in your assembly kit. Once you have created the proper material take it to a Loom along with this mold to fashion your very own Trousers of the Stonehand.'

As noted by Ananvil below....anything larger than a spiderling. Although I've noticed that the giant spiders seem to drop them more frequently than the large spiders; that may just be coincidence tho.

I made the pants yesterday and this is what I've learned:

Pelts drop from anything that looks like a lion, Plains Cats, Lions, Lionesses, etc.

The Ring can Easily be obtained in West Commons, just do a shout and most likely someone will give it to you, or kill a few dervishes, common drop.

The Poison Sac is another easy item, but not that common of a drop, just kill anything bigger than a spiderling and you'll eventually get one. (Check Merchants too)

The Cracked Giant Scarab Carapace was tricky but i found out soemthing, there are two kinds of Cracked Giant Scarab Carapace, one that looks like all the other Carapaces, and one that looks like a turtle shell. The required one is the one that looks like a turtle shell, and in my experience, drops less often.

Good luck, and if this helps, I've done my job.

all of the stonehand quests are similiar i have done them all they are great for a loobie monk even though i am lvl 60 i had a hard time finding a few of the components. The scarab carapace drops in EC Nro Oasis and i think WC although it is not a common item it does drop. I am not sure where the loom is at exactly but i have used the sewing kit. Does anyone know if you have to have a certian skill lvl in tailoring to do this i am thinking of making a lvl one monk but not sure if i will fail on this quest. Any Information would be great thanx for taking the time to read this hope it helps all of you out some

Make sure you are not stacking the items and don't include the pattern. I haven't done the pants yet but the robe works.

i have seen just about all the "cats" drop them, from the young pumas, all the way up to the woodland lions and lioness's. but it is easier to check the merchants in the area, they have some from time to time. hope this helps.

I found the cracked Giant Scarab Carapace, being sold by the Shady Swashbuckler in the tunnel in EC leading to nRo. I'm pretty sure this is the quest item.
