Tylfon is a rogue guildmaster, found in the Scouts of Tunare guild in Kelethin at -515, -225, +160.

    You say, 'Hail, Tylfon'

Tylfon says 'So, you think you have what it takes to be a Scout of Tunare? Come back with two gold and two rusty daggers and I'll make it worth your while.'

Hand in 2 gold pieces and 2 rusty daggers.

Tylfon says 'Well, well, I didn't think you could do it. Here's your cut and don't be surprised that it's not much because it's your first lesson. Remember, the smaller the operation, the bigger the share, and the richest rogues have the tighest lips.'

Your faction standing with Tunare's Scouts has been adjusted by 1.
    You gain experience!!
You receive 5 silver from Tylfon.

250 ish turn ins to go from kindly to warmly to Tunare's Scouts(I didn't count precisely, only the number of trips worth 40 turn ins it took). Exactly 350 turn ins to go from warmly to ally.

The closest place that I know of to get rusty daggers is Tohsan Hallard, in East Freeport.

So there I was - pickpocketing Expin for Master sketch quest - I got bored and killed him.

    Bam. From Amiable to Threateningly.

So.. I use sneak/hide and get behind Tylfon (= indifferent), hand in 2 daggers and 2 gold - and he hands them back. "I have no use for this item"

    You say "Hail, Tylfon."
Tylfon says "The Scouts of Tunare have no quarrel with you, but perhaps a few less Crushbone Orcs would prove your worth. Then we shall speak."

*In other words: this quest seems to need a minimum faction higher than indifferent to be given.

Your faction standing with Tunare's Scouts got better.

Rusty daggers can be bought in unlimited supply from Harg Tonicka at Hallards Resales in East Freeport

Scouts of Tunare. Turning in the daggers increases your faction with the Wood Elf Rogues Guild, aka the Scouts of Tunare.

    # Aug 13 2001 at 3:36 PM Rating: Default
True; this isnt the best quest for newbies what with the Druid Rusty Blade Quest, the Warrior General Loot Item Quest or either of the Pixie Dust Quest being quicker and easier to accomplish. But it is hard in this game to build faction with the Rogue Guilds, so with this quest and the previously mentioned Rogue Pixie Dust Quest, You can get the faction hits you need (if you need them)

#Anonymous, Posted: Aug 09 2001 at 2:27 PM, Rating: Sub-Default, (Expand Post) this is stupid, you want Xp, get to 5 in the newbie area and then go to the hill and get orc belts. with the tons of money and xp you get from turning them in. make fun of people doing this quest.
    rusty daggers
    # Jul 31 2001 at 12:56 PM Rating: Decent
i think that if you are newb and didn't fish for the daggers or buy them this quest probably ain't worth it, i fought to get mine and i just got my first two rusty daggers and im level 5 now, so it really ain't worth it except for the faction to even turn them in... when i was killing pawns and skeletons with weapons i was always getting various varieties of rusty swords and cloth armour, so if you want to do this quest, don't be like me, fish for 'em or buy 'em....

    Awesome xp to 4th

How anyone could label this quest less than excellent? Granted it's a bit pricey for a totally untwinked newbie with no friends, but for anyone with 5pp to spare (roughly) you can rocket from First to Fourth. At fourth the xp hose starts to get a bit less gushing. Went from 1st to fourth in literally 2 minutes. Not counting the time buying the rusty daggers near the lake in Felwithe.
    great quest
