This quest is for good aligned gnome clerics.
You say, 'Hail, Iony Gredlong' Iony Gredlong says 'It is very nice to meet you Gearsword. I am Iony Gredlong Priestess of the Underfoot. I coordinate all the training for new clerics here in the Deep Musing. If you are a [cleric] then I might just have some tests for you that will challenge your wisdom as well as your fighting abilitys.' You say, 'I am a cleric' Iony Gredlong says 'Well you would certainly be eligible for my training then young Gearsword. I have a number of armor recipes that I give to young clerics to make sure that when they leave the comfort of the Steamfont Mountains they are ready for whatever battles they may face. If you are [interested in creating your own armor] then all you must do is simply ask and I will give you instructions to get started.' You say, 'I am interested in creating my own armor' Iony Gredlong says 'I am always happy to see an eager young one like yourself! Brell certainly takes pride in all young gnomes that draw power from him to give life so you should consider yourself very special. To create your own armor you are going to collect [various items] from Ak`Anon and Steamfont. You will then combine them in this assembly kit. Once you have made a material you will place it in a forge along with molds that I will present to you to create your armor.' You say, 'what are the various items?' Iony Gredlong says 'There are numerous items that you will need to collect and combine in your kit. I will present you for the recipe for Shortnoble Platemail [Helms], [Bracers], [Armguards], [Boots], [Greaves], [Gauntlets] and [Breastplates]. When you are ready to attempt a specific piece please let me know what piece you wish to [craft] and I will give you the necessary mold along with the recipe.' You say, 'I want to craft a breastplate' Iony Gredlong says 'I believe you are ready to craft and gather the components for the most difficult piece of Shortnoble Platemail. To create your breastplate material you will need to combine 5 Bricks of Crude Bronze, 1 Clockwork Spider Thorax Plate, 1 Brownie Parts, 1 Aviak Talon 1 Scrap Metal and the evil Halorniop`s Insignia in your assembly kit. Once you have created the proper material take it to a forge along with this mold to fashion your very own Shortnoble Platemail Breastplate. Where is the clockwork spider thorax plate? I've killed many spiders and can't seem to find it.

I camped for the thorax plate to drop for two consecutive evenings, about five hours per session. It's a very rare drop, and it finally appeared on a rogue clockwork's corpse (these are the large clockwork spiders). I /feedbacked that I think it's too rare for newbie armor, but there you have it.
I'm surprised that my faction with DefectiveClockworks isn't worse than apprehensive, I've killed so many trying to get the stupid thorax plate.

found Harlionop,,, There is a bunch of named npcs that are to the right of the windmills along the wall ! killed him, looted his insignia! First Gnome Cleric with full set on Tholluxe Paells! Benditen is the name if you ever wanna come see it or ask me any questions.

oudn them yesterday while farming the zone....there are on the kobolts that have the camps between the druid rings and LFay zone. As for the evil Halorniop`s Insignia....i have no clue yet.

Well as for the brownie stuff (parts and brain), you can buy them at the vendors.
A lvl 5 can kill a brownie???? Since when?

Since when? Since always...my second-ever character (a woodelf druid) got killed by a level 3 brownie in Gfay...this was early November, of 2000.

a new character added to steamfont was the mountain brownie. in about two hours outside the mino caves, i saw three or four.

I take it you have never seen the brownies in Gfay. they aren't that strong level 3 or 4
Brownies in Lfay are mean MF's! Agro range is insane, and pretty durable. They must be stale brownies.
do you need to have any skill in the trade skills to do these quests?

This comes from one of the "evil" gnomes, the gnome's name is Halorniop and is right near Faerron as well. In fact there is a large group of "evil" (con apprehensive to lvl 12 cleric) gnomes ... this is difficult to do without a large group or a higher level to single pull things.
