Today I was looking at doing some faction work in Ak'Anon and discovered Lewis would not respond to any of the hails or any of the key phrases, not even you have to prove your self comment. However, Reuben Reldnok responded exactly as described above to each of the key phrases associated with the Deep Muse armor quest, including the Special Duty. Not sure if they changed the NPC or it was just the wrong NPC all this time listed for the quest here on Zam.
Edit: Completed quest today and got the following faction hits.
Your faction standing with Deepmuse has been adjusted by 25.
Your faction standing with Merchants of Ak'Anon has been adjusted by 3
Your faction standing with Gem Choppers has been adjusted by 3
Your faction standing with Dark Reflection has been adjusted by -3

Reuben Reldnok says 'Greetings _____! I am Reuben Reldnok, first Paladin of the Deep Muses. When I was just a young lad I journeyed to Kaladim, the home of our cousins the Dwarves. At the Temple of the Duke of Below I studied the ways of a Paladin of our creator Brell Serilis. I have returned to Ak'Anon to train interested young gnomes the ways I have mastered so that we may defend Ak'Anon and Brells disciples everywhere from the threats that would see us destroyed. If you are a Paladin of the Deep Muses I have some [armor quests] for you to complete.' You say, 'what armor quests?' Reuben Reldnok says 'I have armor quests that I present to young gnomish paladins when they are ready to venture out into the Mountains of Steamfont and begin their training. Are you a gnome that is [ready for training]?' You say, 'I am ready for training' Reuben Reldnok says 'Fantastic! Let me first begin by telling you how you will create your armor young Gearsword. I will present you with a Tinkerers Mail Assembly Kit that you will use to collect all different kinds of items from Ak'anon and from the Steamfont Mountaints. You will use specific [armor recipes] in this kit to create materials that you will use along with the molds I provide you with in a forge to create your armor!' You say, 'what armor recipes?' Reuben Reldnok says 'I have all the armor recipes and molds that you will need to get started all you must do is simply tell me what armor piece you [want to craft]. I can provide you with the recipes and molds for Deep Muses [Helms], [Bracers], [Armguards], [Boots], [Greaves], [Gauntlets] and [Breastplates]. I must recommend that you attempt to gather the items for your breastplate last because the components required for it are the most difficult to collect.' You say, 'I want to craft a breastplate' Reuben Reldnok says 'It pleases me to see that you have come this far in your training. When you complete your breastplate and round out your armor set you will truly be a worthy paladin of Brell. To create your breastplate material you will need to combine 5 Bricks of Crude Bronze, 1 Grikbar Kobold Scalp, 1 Low Quality Coyote Pelt, 1 Micro Servo 1 Scrap Metal and the evil warrior Berinsan`s Shirt in your assembly kit. Once you have created the proper material take it to a forge along with this mold to fashion your very own Deep Muses Breastplate. When you have crafted your breastplate please come back to see me for I might have a a [special duty] for you to perform.' You say, 'what special duty? Reuben Reldnok says 'I'm glad to see you are back, it is clear that you have progressed very well in your training for you to be here ready for this task. I am constructing a blade for all of our new recruits to carry. If you [gather the items] I need I might be able to craft you won as well. You say, 'I will gather the items' Reuben Reldnok says 'Thank you for your willingness to help Gearsword. I must warn you though I need some items from monsters and areas that are quite treacherous so I would recommend you take some worthy companions with you if you are to venture out on this quest. Are you [up for the challenge]?' You say, 'I am up for the challenge' Reuben Reldnok says 'Ok I will need 4 things to construct this blade. Bring me a Finished Sheet of Metal, a Kobold Backbone, Preserved Rat Pelt and 1 Bottle of Clockwork Oil that was stolen from me from some renegade clockworks not too long ago. Once I have these items I can make you a sword worthy of Brells finest heroes.' Your faction standing with Deepmuse has been adjusted by 25. Thanks! I added Reuben Reldnok (he was missing from the database) and assigned him all of the Deep Muses armor quests. Lewis is now only linked to the Paladin epic.

You need oil not oil extract. I got mine from the part between Ak'anon and the windmills.

Ok I got all the stuff again ,and i went to my guild and said up to the chellenge and he gave me no mold and it wont let me combined in the kit he gave me so what now i dont want to lose it again and he also says he will make a sword worthy of brells finest heros so does he make it or not . i just want my sword hehe.

No, give him the items dont combine in box. The reason he took the three items and gave you the extract was b/c the extract was incorrect. If you have bottle of clockwork oil, give him all 4, he will give you the sword. Also, does the oil drop from clockworks in newbie area? I would like a definitive yes or no on this one.

well I got all the items or I thought I did. well I went to the guild and gave the finished sheet of metal and then the pers rat pelt then the back bone and finaly the oil, but I had clockwork oil extract and he took everything but the oil.I just want to know if i have to get everthing all over again? damn

Gotta do it all over again. You aren't supposed to turn in the items. You put them in the tinkering box he gives you and combine them in that. That creates the metal for the sword and you get the mold from him and make it in the forge.. never fails.

Which type of rat does this pelt drop off of?!?!
got both the finished sheet of metal and the bottle of clockwork oil from clockworks in newbe area.i must have got lucky though droped off the first two i killed and havent had anther drop in almost 100 kills

There are other rogue clockworks that run around in the area around the corner (so to speak) from where the mino caves are. These clockworks are smaller than the ones by the mino caves. Will these drop oil or just the huge ones? BTW watch out for those giant yellow spiders when hunting rogue clockworks in front of mino caves. Damn things poisoned me for 21 repeatedly until I died on several occasions. They aggro when rogue clockworks are attacked just like the spiderlings aggro when you attack the runaway spider clockworks.

While slaughtering runaway clockworks looking for the finished sheet of metal (took 214 runaways to get it, by the way), I found the oil needed for this quest five or six times.

All the items needed for this quest are No-Drop
*Finished Sheet of Metal looted off a Runaway Clockwork, the best place I found them at was near the Druid Ring/Kobold Camps they can be in gnome or spider form
*Kobold Backbone looted off a Grikbar Kobold
*Preserved Rat Pelt looted from rats (not young plague rats)
*Bottle of Clockwork Oil looted off a Rogue Clockwork around the Minotaur Caves, this item took the longest for me to find.
*Finished Sheet of Metal looted off a Runaway Clockwork, the best place I found them at was near the Druid Ring/Kobold Camps they can be in gnome or spider form

Whats this about about gnomes being Brells finest heros hmmm? Us dwarfs have been towing the line for Brell for ages. Now the GNOMES are is favs that is just wrong /Rude brell

dont worry man it doesn't say gnomes are his favs it just says a sword worthy of brells finest heros which means that the sword is worthy of a dworf but made for a gnome (alot like the commercial for womens deoderant thats strong enough for a man but made for a woman) so unless you want a womans (gnomes) sword then quit complaining
