Visit Ulraz S`Lon in the Lodge of the Dead, Neriak 3rd Quarter. He is one of the Shadow Knight guildmasters in the center room on the first floor of the building, this is in the room your newly created character appeared in and he is listed in the find function.

NOTE: You only need to do this part if you need a Mail Assembly Kit container. If you have the container from a previous combine, you can skip straight to Krivn S`Tai.

You say, 'Hail, Ulraz S`Lon'

Ulraz S`Lon says 'So you are the next pathetic maggot I have the displeasure of training to be a useful Shadowknight of the Lodge of the Dead. First you must get yourself outfitted in a suit of [armor], those rags you wear can not even contain the stench of your miserable hide and will do no good protecting it from the edge of an enemies blade. '

You say, 'what armor?'

Ulraz S`Lon says 'Seek Krivn S'Tai in the Commoner quarter of Neriak and give him this request parchment. Krivn S'Tai has been paid in advance by the Lodge of the Dead for the requested service. Simply give him the request parchment and he will instruct you further. When you have outfitted yourself in a suit of armor return to the Lodge of the Dead and I will grant you [another task].'

Take the Parchment he gives you to Krivn S`Tai in the Blue Flame in Neriak Commons (65, -885, -40, he is listed on find as an armor merchant).

When you hand him the note:

Krivn S`Tai says 'So you are one of Ulraz's new recruits. You are to assist in the construction of the armor you will don as a new Shadowknight of the Lodge of the Dead. I have assembled a kit that is used in the crafting of Bone Mail. You must travel beyond Neriak into the Nektulos Forest for the [materials] that compose the armor.'

You receive an 8-slot container called a Mail Assembly Kit.

You say, 'What materials?'

Krivn S`Tai says 'Many species of dangerous creatures and even the walking remains of the dead inhabit the Nektulos Forest. You must defeat these creatures and undead in order to obtain the materials. The materials you seek depend on the piece of armor you desire. Do you desire to craft [gloves], [boots], a [bracer], a [coif], [leggings], [sleeves], or a [tunic]?'

You say, 'Tell me about the sleeves'

Krivn S`Tai says 'To craft Bone Mail Sleeves you require two [silk thread], a low quality wolf pelt, and two calcified humerus bones. Once you have the necessary components combine them in your Bone Mail Kit with this Tattered Sleeves Pattern. '

You receive a Tattered Sleeve Pattern.

You say, 'Where does silk thread come from?'

Krivn S`Tai says 'Silk Thread is sewn by a tailor using a [sewing kit] or a community [loom]. Two spiderling silks combined in the sewing kit or loom will create one silk thread.'

You say, 'What is a sewing kit?'

Krivn S`Tai says 'A sewing kit may be purchased at the Furrier Royale in Neriaks Third Quarter or at the Silk Underground in Neriaks Foreign Quarter. A community loom may be found at the Silk Underground in Neriaks Foreign Quarter.'

You say, 'And where would I find a loom?'

Krivn S`Tai says 'A sewing kit may be purchased at the Furrier Royale in Neriaks Third Quarter or at the Silk Underground in Neriaks Foreign Quarter. A community loom may be found at the Silk Underground in Neriaks Foreign Quarter.'

Gather the items and armor pattern, then combine in the Mail Assembly Kit.

NOTE: The container isn't consumed in the combine, so you can keep it for other armor pieces.

Here is a compiled list of components for the Shadow Knight Armor. I think this is hardest one I have come across besides getting that damn Deathfist Templar Scalp for the Darpriest's Breastplate :/

Bone Mail Boots:
-two silk thread
-two ruined wolf pelts
-two calcified foot bones

Bone Mail Bracer:
-a silk thread
-a ruined wolf pelt
-a calcified ulna bone

Bone Mail Helm:
-two silk thread
-a ruined wolf pelt
-a calcified skull

Bone Mail Gloves:
-two silk thread
-a ruined wolf pelt
-two calcified finger bones

Bone Mail Leggings:
-three silk thread
-a low quality wolf pelt
-two calcified tibia
-a calcified pelvis

Bone Mail Sleeves:
-two silk thread
-a low quality wolf pelt
-two calcified humerus bones

Bone Mail Tunic:
-four silk thread
-a medium quality wolf pelt
-a calcified sternum
-a calcified ribcage

And if you are feeling masochistic, you can try these as well:

Bone Mail Shield:
-four Petrified Femurs (decaying councelman)
-two Basilisk Hatchling Skins

Bone Mail Weapon:
-Leathered Zombie Flesh
-a Petrified Humerus bone
-a Petrified Rib bone

Calcified Bone Drops

I brought my Erudite shadowknight to Nektulos, as waiting on the skeleton spawns in Toxxulia redefines "boring".

Here is the list of calcified bones, and creatures I have looted them from:

- Calfcifed Foot Bones: Calcified Skeletons
- Calfcifed Finger Bones: Calcified Skeletons
- Calfcifed Ulna: Calcified Skeletons
- Calfcifed Skull: Calcified Skeletons and Greater Skeletons
- Calcified Humerus: Greater Skeletons? (I think--this is the one I am not certain on)
- Calfcifed Pelvis: Greater Skeletons
- Calfcifed Tibia: Greater Skeletons
- Calfcifed Sternum: Greater Skeletons
- Calfcifed Ribcage: Greater Skeletons

If are high enough level and don't mind things getting a bit out of control, and the occasional death, the best place to hunt both of these seems to be the undead area just west of the pass into Lavastorm. Yes, there are other places, but after spending too many hours hunting in various places throughout the zone, near Lavastorm seemed the best place for Greater Skeletons, and you should find enough Calcifieds there to get everything you need long before you have finished with the drops from the Greaters.

Drop Rates
# Dec 17 2002 at 10:05 AM Rating: Decent
My level 13 and half shadow knight has been working on these quests since about level 3. I have yet to see a single Humerous bone drop. I did see three Calcified Ribcages drop in a row off Greater Skeletons at the monolith near the EC zone. Too bad there were no other Shadow Knights in the zone.
This quest should have more common drops

Ok, ive been in Nek for 8 days now and still havent found ANY of the ingrediants for the sleeves, and legs. I think that this supposed N00d quest should be more easy
The best Spot for Calcified
# May 24 2002 at 1:52 PM Rating: Good
When you first enter Nek forest from EC take a right and you will come to an undead camp with 4 spawns. Halfing Skeletons, Skeletons, Calcified Skeletons, and Greater Skeletons along with zombies are what spawns there. The Calcified Skeletons don't drop much but bone chips and Calcified foot bones, but the Greater Skeletons drop just about everything you need almost every time you kill one. I got my full suit of bone mail and two levels in about five hours of playing time. Its a great spot!

Too damn rare
# Apr 21 2002 at 9:19 PM Rating: Default
Why do they make the parts so rare ! its a newbie quest for god sake! Stuff that newbies need for quests isnt supposed to be rare because they are "newbies"....
They should change the drop rates to more common

Sorry about duplicates. I apologize, the truth is that when I click post message, it sends me to a screen that says "Discussion not enabled on this page" In other words, it makes me believe I failed....now I know so I will ignore the strange confirmation page.
cal humerus

Yes it's confirmed I spent a long time on the ultricle cleaning house. A greater Skeleton finally dropped a Calcified Humerus, and another dropped the Calcified Pelvis (looks like a jawbone graphic from luclin.) BTW, Greater Skels don't pop that frequently. I'm sick of killing Undead Annalkeepers (super spawn rates), Skeletons also. This area should only spawn, calcified skels, greater skels, rotting citizens, decaying councilman, decaying initiates and I know I'm forgetting a new type. Maybe they'll fix it.

# Mar 30 2002 at 12:35 AM Rating: Default
Okay I have been in nektulos since I was level 1, granted I only started killing skellies from level 5 and up, but now I am level 13 and I haven't once seen a calcified, Humerus.... where oh where do I find them???

(p.s. i also can't find calcified, steumns, or a ribcage, where oh where do I get these from?)

I have a lvl 12th SHD DE in Lanys T'Vyl and have spent more than 8hrs hunting the Calcified bone pieces and of the ones that drop Calcified Ulna's are almost a dime a dozen, compared to others. The Cal. skulls, footbones, fingerbones, and other have been dropping of Greater Skels anywhere in the zone. I think I only have one of each except for tibia, and pelvis. There is the Ultricle, the Pyramid, and the Undead by EC. It's best to find 3 SKs that are on and have each be at a different spot sending tells to each other.
RE Calcifird Bones
# Mar 23 2002 at 3:22 PM Rating: Default
The calcified bones come from calcified skeletons found by the wizzy spires in Nektulos forest carfull there though because they added new mobs that guard there to and they do some serious damage.
