Visit Ulraz S`Lon in the Lodge of the Dead, Neriak 3rd Quarter. He is one of the Shadow Knight guildmasters in the center room on the first floor of the building, this is in the room your newly created character appeared in and he is listed in the find function.

NOTE: You only need to do this part if you need a Mail Assembly Kit container. If you have the container from a previous combine, you can skip straight to Krivn S`Tai.

You say, 'Hail, Ulraz S`Lon'

Ulraz S`Lon says 'So you are the next pathetic maggot I have the displeasure of training to be a useful Shadowknight of the Lodge of the Dead. First you must get yourself outfitted in a suit of [armor], those rags you wear can not even contain the stench of your miserable hide and will do no good protecting it from the edge of an enemies blade. '

You say, 'What armor?'

Ulraz S`Lon says 'Seek Krivn S'Tai in the Commoner quarter of Neriak and give him this request parchment. Krivn S'Tai has been paid in advance by the Lodge of the Dead for the requested service. Simply give him the request parchment and he will instruct you further. When you have outfitted yourself in a suit of armor return to the Lodge of the Dead and I will grant you [another task].'

Take the Parchment he gives you to Krivn S`Tai in the Blue Flame in Neriak Commons (65, -885, -40, he is listed on find as an armor merchant).

When you hand him the note:

Krivn S`Tai says 'So you are one of Ulraz's new recruits. You are to assist in the construction of the armor you will don as a new Shadowknight of the Lodge of the Dead. I have assembled a kit that is used in the crafting of Bone Mail. You must travel beyond Neriak into the Nektulos Forest for the [materials] that compose the armor.'

You receive an 8-slot container called a Mail Assembly Kit.

You say, 'What materials?'

Krivn S`Tai says 'Many species of dangerous creatures and even the walking remains of the dead inhabit the Nektulos Forest. You must defeat these creatures and undead in order to obtain the materials. The materials you seek depend on the piece of armor you desire. Do you desire to craft [gloves], [boots], a [bracer], a [coif], [leggings], [sleeves], or a [tunic]?'

You say, 'Tell me about the boots'

Krivn S`Tai says 'To craft Bone Mail Boots you require two [silk thread], two ruined wolf pelts, and two calcified foot bones. Once you have the necessary components combine them in your Bone Mail Kit with this Tattered Boot Pattern.'

You receive a Tattered Boot Pattern.

You say, 'Where does silk thread come from?'

Krivn S`Tai says 'Silk Thread is sewn by a tailor using a [sewing kit] or a community [loom]. Two spiderling silks combined in the sewing kit or loom will create one silk thread.'

You say, 'What is a sewing kit?'

Krivn S`Tai says 'A sewing kit may be purchased at the Furrier Royale in Neriaks Third Quarter or at the Silk Underground in Neriaks Foreign Quarter. A community loom may be found at the Silk Underground in Neriaks Foreign Quarter.'

You say, 'And where would I find a loom?'

Krivn S`Tai says 'A sewing kit may be purchased at the Furrier Royale in Neriaks Third Quarter or at the Silk Underground in Neriaks Foreign Quarter. A community loom may be found at the Silk Underground in Neriaks Foreign Quarter.'

Gather the items and armor pattern, then combine in the Mail Assembly Kit.

NOTE: The container isn't consumed in the combine, so you can keep it for other armor pieces.

Are you a dark elf SK?

If so, you apparently damaged your faction in your own city. My first guess would be that perhaps you went killing orcs in crushbone.

I'm glad the armor doesn't require much to make, cause the calcified pieces are rare and uncommon drops. I think the rarest ones would be the feet bones and Pelvis, next would be the humerus bones, then tibia.

It's still kinda worth it though. At the same time you get to exp and practise your spell casting cause you'll be hunting in the undead zone near lavastorm mountains which is good exp until lvl 12 or so. And I just got the feet bones to drop off of a calcified skeleton so woot!

If you're going from EC into Nek forest, right after you leave the tunnel make a right. Ahead of you will be a place where 4 skelly's spawn... some calcified, some greater, some regular and some halfling (so cute) along with the random mummy. And the Calcified pieces drop from more than the calcified skellys... i got some off greater too.

There's a couple other places where they spawn, such as near the entrance to lavastorm, but this is by far the most reliable i've found

If you go there say hi to Kalrae on Vazaelle cause i'll be there for awhile. ;)

make SURE sure sure you have all the exact items in the exact quantities. Ususally when that happens it means that you did something wrong along the way.

You get a silk thread from combining 2 spiderling silks in a sewing kit.

When I ask the merchant Krivn S'Tai about the boots (or any of the other bone items for that matter) he doesn't respond at all. I have already asked him about the armor materials and he has listed the different kinds of pieces he can make but I can't get further than that. I have his precious Mail Creation Kit and I AM a Shadow Knight but he doesn't tell me the ingredients for the pieces nor give me the pattern for them.

What the **** am I doing wrong and what the **** should I do?

It did the same for me last night. You have to be on the same side of the counter as he is. After I did that it worked no prob. If it doesnt work then, I dont know what will.

Calcified skeletons spawn at the wizard spire in nektulos which is not far from the newbie log.

There are calcified skeletons in nektulos close to lavastorm entrance, sounds like that is a good bet, lightblue to my lvl 10 cleric.

wonder what they're planning. I mean, all these new lowbie weaps and armor would've been cool 3 years ago. They've already said they aren't really anticipating gaining new players anymore(or at least, that's pretty much what the PoP expansion packs says to me)...SERVERWIPES FOR ALL!
Think they'll reuse the old maps for EQ2? hehe

DE's do not want to go off killing Crushbone orcs
as they will take faction hits in Neriak. I am thinking maybe the new orcs in Nek forest might drops these items?

These quests although not restricted to, are primarily aimed at newbs, so I am presuming that there will be a source somewhat a bit closer and less dangerous for a Teir'Dal Knight of Innoruuk to venture to than Crushbone
I have killed some calcified Skellies near the Nek/EC zone and also near the Lava zone
