NOTE: A patch on March 25, 2015, added a work-around to obtain items from Cazic Thule, Dread, Fright, and Terror: In the Plane of Fear, a harbinger of Fear can help adventurers get their epic 1.0 pieces that would normally drop from Cazic-Thule or the golems. These pieces cannot be multi-quested or traded. In addition, a harbinger of Fear can advance the Whistling Fists quest in the same way as Cazic-Thule. You must first do the monk shackle quests. Once you finish with the steel shackle you need to do 3 tests. 1. Newbie note hand in ( Else wise known as Shackle of Dust quest) 2. Shackle of Clay 3. Shackle of Stone 4. Shackle of Rock 5. Shackle of Copper 6. Shackle of Bronze 7. Shackle of Steel 8. Shackle of Tynnonium The first is in town with Grandmaster Glox. Say "I am Ready for the Trial of Agility". You then will have to fight him (he is light blue to a 59). He drops the Mark of Agility. Next there is an Iksar Monk in Timorous Deep named Grandmaster Rinmark. You tell him "I am ready for the Trial of Patience" and he will say that you will know when it's the time to attack. Wait for a few minutes and he will change from GrandMaster to Master. Wait again and he will change from Master to just plain Rinmark. Kill him at that point. He is a little thougher than Glox. He drops a Mark of Patience. The last test is in Kaesora. You must have the shackle of Steel for this. Take this Shackle to the library and look for a mob on the second floor called Tome Keeper. Hand him the shackle and he gives you a book (called what?). There are different books, so this step varies depending upon which book you get. The book tells you what item you need, where to get it and who to hand it to. Get that item and hand it into the person it tells you to in the book and you will receive the Mark of Mind. Once you have all 3 marks head to the Dreadlands and look for a monk named Veltar. He is near the FV zoneline on top of the ruins in the desert area. Hand him the 3 marks to get your shackle of Tynnonium. Once you have that shackle head over to Cabilis. Right next to the arena is an underground entrance and look for a monk named Marthor hidden in there at -352.00, -119, -52. You say, 'Hail, Marthor' Marthor hiccups and breathes drunken breath in your face saying, 'Leave me be, can't you see that I am meditating or something?' You say, 'I have the shackle of Tynnonium.' Marthor says 'Supreme Master Tynn was the only one that has even seen the weapon. I do not know its origin. I tell you though, you would need to be as powerful as he was to be able to wield the weapon. Only an Iksar of the last rung would be able to use it, come back and show me you have earned your Tynnonium Shackle and I will discuss with you what I know.' Hand him the shackle. Marthor says 'You earned the Tynnonium Shackle? I am sure you wish to seek the fists of lore. Gandan has come as close as anyone, you would have to talk to him. Last I heard his expedition has taken him to the Howling Stones.' You get the shackle back. Head to Howling Stones (Charasis). Fall to the bottom near the entrance (+1 Safe Fall). Find Gandan Tailfist feigning death at 278, -15, -175. You say, 'Hail, Gandan Tailfist' Gandan Tailfist places a foul smelling book in your hands and speaks to you slowly. 'Take this rotting book given to me by lord Cazic-Thule himself, I was given another but it has been lost. The search for the fists will be the end of me. If you are a monk of the final rung show me your Shackle of Tynnonium and I will share with you what I have found.' You receive a Flayed Skin Tome.. Give him your shackle, which you receive back. Gandan Tailfist says ' The search for the fists has killed many so I hope that your strength is more than mine and those in the past. I was given this satchel by the lord Cazic-Thule. I have searched for the fists in this place but they are not here. I suggest you seek audience with our lord. Tell him that I have failed in my task. I am sure that he ugnnnnnhnnn.' One last look to you is given before falling completely lifeless to the cold stone. You receive a Satchel of Flayed Skin. Now head to PoF and go up to Cazic (or the Shade of Cazic Thule) and tell him that Gandan has failed in his task. You will receive a book (called what?) that tells you what you have to place in the bag. You then need to head to Feerott and talk to a new gnome necro named Annaelia Wylassi: You say, 'Hail, Annaelia Wylassi' Annaelia Wylassi says 'If you have nothing other than a hail to offer me you best move along, I need concentration to study these odd bones that I unearthed. Funny thing about them though, they seem to resonate a hum. Quite unusual, you probably aren't interested in that though.' You say, 'I am interested in that.' Annaelia Wylassi says 'Are you? I didn't take you for a necromancer. I tried to reanimate these remains but due to the vibration it was too unstable and collapsed. I have given up trying to animate them. I would need more supplies if I were to try again. I am too busy with other research to care though. If you are so interested you could go fetch the supplies for me. I suspect the bone structure is of a human, so I would need a vial of human blood. A jade inlaid coffin would be needed to perform the ritual in. Also a vial of clear mana to bind the bones with strong magic, and an essence emerald to complete the ritual.' Give her the four items and she gives you Resonant Bone Chips, which identify as "Remains of Zan-Fi." There is a small quest from the Cabilis monk guild that requires 2 torn halves for a note that you hand in to the master behind Glox and he gives you a Thin flute. Take this flute and hand it in to Brother Balathin in the Dreadlands and he spaws up as a pissed off version of himself -- lvl 61 and hits for a max of 240 and can be slowed. Once killed he drops another flute. That is your second piece. Now head to Sebilis in the crypt area and look for a skeleton named a fallen monk. You say, 'Hail, a fallen monk' A fallen monk says, 'Failed to find the rest I have. If you wish what is mine then give proof of the shackle unto me." Hand him in your Shackle of Tynnonium. fallen monk says, "Earn what is mine. Show me when you have the power worthy to wield what i posses.' It will keep it and respawn as a fallen iksar master. Kill it and and loot Faintly Glowing Fist. That is the 3rd item. The last piece is hard to get since you have to do the stupendous tome quest (see the write-up for the Crusader's Test of the Lord quest). Once you have that done, head to Trakanon's Teeth with the book and a Crusaders Coffin(Sold in Cabilis). Hand them in to Crusader Vragor (spawns at around n2800 p2785). You say, 'Hail, Crusader Vragor' Crusader Vragor says 'Perhaps you would care to hear a tale, and perhaps you could help me with the ending. it is the tale of the end of Grandmaster Tynn. We all know that Tynn came into Sebilis with no rebirth. I suppose you know he created the caste of Iksar monks, but I doubt you know where he now rests do you?' You say, 'No, I do not.' Crusader Vragor says 'Then I shall tell you. Master Tynn chose a place of rest in his old age. While deep in meditation he slipped away and breathed no more. His corpse remained in teh stance of meditation for many years unyielding to the elements. This brings us to recent times. A Trakanasaur that has been named Zhaoku came along the remains and devoured them. The bones too hard to be chewed, he swallowed them whole. To this day he wanders with them lodged in his stomach. Are you interested in knowing where Zhaoku is?' You say, 'Yes, tell me!' Crusader Vragor says 'I will tell you but you must help me first. I have been tied to this plane because of deeds unfinished. I was questing for the stupendous tome for ages to no avail. Without this tome I can not pass on in peace. finish my quest, bring me the stupendous tome and a crusader coffin. I will tell you where the beast rests before I pass on. I doubt you can finish this, but i can always hope.' Hand him the items he seeks. Crusader Vragor says 'The tome! I can finally pass on in peace. Before i go I will tell you that Zhaoku rests to the east of here near Old Sebilis. He is gigantic and not easily missed.' Crusader Vragor vanishes into a mist, his sigh of relief the only thing left behind. You gain experience!! You gain experience!! He will then spawn a lvl 59 Giant Dino named Zhaoku. Kill him and he will drop Thule Touched Bones and some rare spells. Those bones ID as the Remains of Tynn. Combine all the bones in the bag and you will get the satchel of Cazic Thule. Then take the bag and the 2 tomes back to Cazic Thule and you receive the Whistling fists. "Cazic-Thule seems pleased at the amount of pain that you have been able to inflict. Cazic-Thule then grabs your hands and begins to infuse them with his power. Your hands burn like they were placed in lava for a moment, then feel cool as ice. You can feel the sheer power flowing through your new weapons of pain." Need all dialogues, faction hits if any, minimum required faction to get quest, missing quest mobs/steps, /loc of quest mobs, drop information, missing names of quest items, etc. | ||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||

I did the Glox fight last nigh. Non twink lv 46 monky, fully buffed with a Wu's TS and a CoT. Ported in and had an easy fight. Cost me 1,5 bubs of healt. Used mend and had Rune IV.
When i ported in Glox was sitting on the floor watching me. He started hitting when i attacked him, thats it. I tried pulling him to the door so i could summon corpse when i died. Be warned, Glox summons, so i did not get him near the door.
After all it was an exiting experiance although it's kinda weird to kick you're masters but. Guess i'm a grown-up now :)

Ill break it down for you guys. You can find Glox (lvl 40) in Ecab, just tell the real Glox that your ready for the trial of agility, and he'll port you. In TD, you go up to Rinmark and tell him that your ready for the trial of Patience, he says a bit of mombo jumbo, then he'll despawn into Grandmaster Rinkmark, wait. He'll despawn in to Master Rinmark, wait. Finally, he'll despawn into just "Rinmark" who should be blue to you (to me at 49), KILL HIM!! Now, head to Kaesora, make sure you have your shackle of steel, and go to the library. Go up the stairs and find 'a tome keeper' and hand him your shackle. He wont say say anything, but you'll have a book in your inventory. When your in kaesora and you see 'an iksar spirit' or whatever, youll have to kill him to get tome keeper to spawn (not easy, so get help). Now the books vary, i got a Solid black tome, to which you have to go to DL to the Yeti caves and find 'a frozen soulstone' on the floor, and go hand it to Prime Heirophant whatever his name is in Ecab, and Voila! you got your mark of Clarity (dont freak out, this is the right one). Now go to DL, get a lev, and run to the building east of KC, where you see an iksar 'Veltar', hand him the three marks, and poof, some xp, faction and most important, the shackle. 12ac 10str 10sta 10agi 10SvM 25hp o.1 weight :)

If the version of Glox is lvl 39-40. Could a lvl 40 monk just get high level buffs and a damage shield and take him out? Also, does rinmark port you somewhere when you have to kill him? or can i get a friend to kill him and let me loot?

What you could do is get an Iksar SK or Shaman to stand right outside the door and cast on glox, as stated he will summon. Since they have done damage to him they will be summoned into the room...best to use a Shaman since they can gate out, or make sure the SK has a thurg gate potion or something on him. Glox will drop an escape potion for one, but only for one. Good luck with him =)

Got an idea for tooling the masters easier. You don't like them quadding? Go get the hammer of exoneration. Tell the master to the right (as you enter the court of pain) that you don't have your shackle. she will give you a book. Give book to the Toilmaster and ask for the hammer. Go fight [insert master monk mob here] but before you do, give the them the hammer it's like 4 damage/60 delay! That'll slow them down! Also, it weighs 25lbs, so it'll drop their AC due to weight.
BTW, if you get you a** kicked by the despawned grandmaster in that tiny room, how do you get your corpse?

I hate to say it but this trick no longer works. If you try to give a mob something it doesn't ask for now it gives you the "i didn't ask for that" message. You used to be able to give raster a mino horn to kill his duel wield, but now he just refuses the item. :(
When I fought the weak version of Glox, he was only single hitting, with his right hand, for max of about 40...but very quickly, about once a second or so. Also, I suggest pulling him to the door, so you can drag your corpse out of there easily if you lose. You need to die within dragging range of the other side of the wall/door. You know that locked door in the shaman guild? That's where you fight. If you die right at the door, you can just get close to the door and do /corpse. If you have no target when doing /corpse, you automatically attempt to drag your own corpse. BTW he attacks when you hail him. This would be a good time to have a DS potion on hand ^_^ \/ Speaking of mages, maybe you could get one to CoH you out of the room after killing Glox, so you can keep the FoB potion? Or use a Thurg gate potion...you can always get another one of those, but there aren't any other FoB port potions that I know of. Haven't tried that, but it would be a nice idea if you could find some way to make it work.

A few answers to questions people have:
1) When you tell Grandmaster Glox 'I am ready for the test of Agility', he teleports you to a room below the Shaman/SK guild behind that locked door where a 39/40th level version of himself is. You kill that one to get the mark and a Gate potion to FoB(you can't go back out the door). Don't tell him this phrase unless you can kill 'Rinmark' solo in the TD phase. Anyone with good faction though can help, for example a shaman friend can go down and gate out while you use the potion to gate out.
2) This is different than the Robe of the Whistling Fists, that is still doable.
3) You don't have to kill Cazic Thule in the quest, just hand in items to him in the Plane of Fear. If you are a Iksar monk you should not be Kill on sight, if you are human you have to sneak up(don't hail him or he will turn), and do the quest.

Hey whats going on here isent whistling fist a robe? I am only a 36 Iksar monk and i almost have my shackles of steel. Is this item a different thing from the robe or was the robe replaced with this or what.

You guys are ALL looking on the wrong site yo. This site doesnt provide enuf info. If you want to know how to get from Shackle of steel to WF, then head to http://www.monkl-business.com/ and hit the "quests:monks" and hit the WF quest. You can find out how to get tynn, the st00pid tome (i call it that, cuz its a reall pain in the *** to get) where and how to k33l the mobs for the quest. Trust me, you'll know the quest like the back of your hand if you go there heheh

This is just smallish info about third test;so if you recieved a dark grey tome from keeper, you need to get sarnak hide from dalnir ; and it is just sitting on the ground on the third floor in one of several rooms right near zoneout. Of course , that zoneout that is on the third,not on the second floor . Hehe just a reminder.

Master Rinmark is found on a mountain in Timorous Deep (not The Deep) around loc -5055, +2800. His name is simply 'an Iksar master'. Speaks softly and carries a big stick, never attack before he spawns as plain Rinmark.

I'm guessing he respawns as a lower level version of himself. I don't have proof so don't quote me on that, it's just a guess :)
Hardest part of this quest is actually the hand-in to Cazic... he's usually killed whenever he pops, and if you try to reach him and agro something near him, he'll agro you... bad time to get a 'fallen to ground' message :)

Ok easy way to gain iksar faction as long as u have patience...In warslik woods in the area zoning to cabilis theres a captain greldin or something in one of the buildings all by himself and with his back to u as u go up the stairs(use an iksar mule to find which tower hes in. Sneak up to him if u havent guessed it so he becomes indifferent. Anyways all you have to do is turn in 3 watcher signal torches to him and all factions go up. I'm an iksar monk so its no big deal to me but I figure it might be easier for another class than the bone chips since it doesnt require wolf form or invis or any of that nonsense(only one guard even close to this guy and easily bypassed...tho there is a wandering SK outside once in awhile). Only prblm is torches dont stack...should be easy to use an iksar mule to buy the torches from vendors as they always seem to have a surplus tho(I figure u can drop a few bags of FS weapons and have the mule pick them up and sell them..hopefully with a high cha);) Never do this right after patch since merchants havent had time to build up a torch stock from newbies hehe.
I suppose as an iksar i shouldnt give out these secrets, but then I am received warmly in Freeport (except for that damn mage guild hehe), so it's not like I didn't do something similar.

also... i understand how humans and iksar PoF hunters can complete the quest by wondering around fear and FDing... but how the **** do they get out? i mean, i wouldn't have the patients to wait for the next CT raid... and i would not want to get back on to find a demi, dracoliche, or CT standing right next to me...

There is a portal out within Cazics Temple.
We are monks, so our ability to get into an area is high. We can FD our way through most any zone. Problem is getting out. So either spend 3500pp on a 10 shot gate potion or spend the time getting the Thurg gate potion OR take the simple solution. Kill GLox. You probably already have killed him to get the mark of agility, so killing him again for another Potion of Escape is pretty easy. I always pop in with 2hb in hand and a DS potion on. Then after we start figting, I use Whirlwind. This normally takes him down to about 50 percent health. Once whirlwind is done, i switch back to open primary and SoS secondary and finish him off. Now, with the potion in hand, I o to the lock door, get as close as possible, turn around and face the inside of the room, sit and camp. When I come back in, I am facing sideways. I turn back and face inside the room again (do not move other than to turn) and sit and camp. When I log back in, I am halfway thru the door facing sideways. Again, turn to the inside of the room, sit and camp. Without fail, when you log in the 3rd time, You will be thru the door. just ctrl-rightarrow to strafe sideways into the shammy guild, then go climb the ladders out. Viola, you are now free of the room and have a lore/norent potion of escape. Use this to pop out of fear or out of the Temple of Droga jail or the library in kaesora, or anywhere else in the world you need to evac out of. (I always get one before heading into the hole. never know when it could be useful.) To add to this, you get experience everytime you kill Glox.

you can buy gate potions from alchemy vendors for around 1k, or shamans can make teleport potions to go to feerott or everfrost. Or, if you are on thurg faction, you can make thurg gate potions if you have pottery skill. Info on thurg gate potions can be found here

Xanter on Drinal server completed this quest. He's a lvl 54 human monk. So it CAN be done by a non-iksar. He FD flopped all over PoF to do it..lol.

i am an MNK lizard on Sullon Sek . Killed rater and targin but i dont have the headband and sash. i think sash is easy i know how i can have a good faction with the order. But headband in Queynos? in a PK sever! Can i have more informations for do this quest and talk with NPC. In Sullon Sek its dangerous to stay more than 30 minutes in goodies or neutrals zones!

U dont loose faction from Cazic Thule unless u kill him... and all iksars start warmly to cazic
