This is a multi-part quest.

Merchant Ahlam may be found at -220, -175.

You say, 'Hail, Merchant Ahlam'

Merchant Ahlam says 'Hello, would you care for a drink? Or perhaps you're the one they sent to help me? If you've come to help please show me your acrylia slate.'

Trade him your Acrylia Slate of Shar Vahl.

Merchant Ahlam says 'Ah good I was hoping you'd be along soon. I need you to collect some Gravel tea leaves from below the city. I need these leaves to make some tea for the guards under the arena. I need 10 of these leaves to brew enough tea for the guards. Take this pouch and fill it with leaves and return it to me.'

He gives you An Empty Pouch (identifies as "Ahlam's Pouch") in which to put the 10 x Gravel pit leaves. The leaves are a fairly rare drop off "a young rockhopper" in the pit surrounding Shar Vahl.

You have fashioned the items together to create something new!

You create a Pouch of Gravel tea leaves, which you should give to Merchant Ahlam. (Recipe)

Merchant Ahlam says 'Many thanks ______, I'll be going to brew this tea up for the guards now. Take this seal as proof of your helping me. You wouldn't happen to know anyone who would be [interested] in learning the art of Vah Shir Brewing would you? I could really use the help in these hard times, I can barely keep up with all the demand.'

You receive 1 x Ahlam's Seal.

You gain experience!!

You say, 'I am interested in helping.'

Merchant Ahlam says 'Is that so? I suppose I would be willing to teach you a few things about brewing, but you'll have to show me one of my seals before I begin your instruction.'

Hand him the seal and he gives you 1 x Acrylia Sand Purifier.

Merchant Ahlam says 'Well done, it is now time to start down the path of learning the art of Vah Shir brewing. You'll need a steady hand if you are to master the brew barrel. The first thing you'll need to learn is how to purify the water we use for all our finest brews. Take this Acrylia filter and use it to [purify water]. Bring me 4 flasks of crystal clear water and I'll teach you how to make the tea from the gravel tea leaves.'

You say, 'How do you purify water?'

Merchant Ahlam says 'Take a bottle to Gamali in Hollowshade Moor. You'll find her somewhere around the Grimling fishing huts if I had to guess. She'll fill the bottle with water for you. Take this water and combine it with the Acrylia Sand Purifier. That will yield the purest water you ever did drink.'

Gamali may be found at -1100, +2500. Bring 4 x Bottle.

You say, 'Hail, Gamali'

Gamali Glances up at you for a moment and then grunts and turns back toward the water.

For each bottle you give her, you receive 1 x Bottle of fresh water.

Gamali leans over and fills the bottle with cool clear liquid. Gamali says, 'So Merchant Ahlam has you doing his errands now does he? Well, here's your water. I can assure you it's of good quality.' She turns away and begins staring out into the distance.

Combine the Bottle of fresh water with your Acrylia Sand Purifier in a brew barrel to craft 1 x Crystal clear water (trivial 36). You also get your purifier back. (Recipe)

Give Merchant Ahlam 4 x Crystal clear water.

Merchant Ahlam says 'Very good ______, this water is perfect for making Gravel leaf tea. I've just received a message from Guard Jabbar under the arena needs a shipment of [Gravel leaf tea] to help sedate the prisoners. Fill a crate with bottles of Gravel leaf tea and take it to Guard Jabbar.'

You say, 'What is Gravel leaf tea?'

Merchant Ahlam says 'To make the tea you'll need a flask of Crystal clear water and some gravel pet leaves. Boil the water in a brew barrel and add the leaves when it's hot. That makes for the strongest dose of the sedative qualities of the tea.'

You receive a Empty Crate, an 8-slot SMALL container.

Combine 1 x Crystal clear water and 1 x Gravel pit leaves in a brew barrel to craft Gravel Leaf Tea. (trivial 108). (Recipe)

Combine 8 x Gravel leaf tea in the crate to craft a Crate of Tea - Recipe. Give this to Guard Jabbar at +160, -665, -235.

You say, 'Hail, Guard Jabbar'

Guard Jabbar studies your frame for a moment and then addresses you. 'What can I do for you Hazan?

Hand over Crate of Tea.

Guard Jabbar says 'Ah the tea! I've been anxiously awaiting your arrival ______, we'd almost run out of that wonderful Gravel leaf tea. Take this seal back to Ahlam, and give him my thanks.'

You gain experience!

((As a side note, if you are curious what happens with the tea, follow Guard Jabbar through the cells as he hands it out.))

You receive Jabbar's seal. Bring it back to Merchant Ahlam.

Merchant Ahlam says 'Very good ______, the guards had been waiting for that tea all day. I think you're ready to move on to something a bit more challenging now. Take this strainer, it will allow you to create some very potent brews from some of the more rare herbs to be found near the city. You'll want to start by making some [Hollow palm tea] to get used to how the strainer works.'

You gain experience!

You receive a Metal Strainer.

You say, 'What Hollow palm tea?'

Merchant Ahlam says 'You'll need some Crystal water, just as you do with all of our teas, and some Hollow palm roots. You can find Hollow palms out in the moors, watch out for the grimlings though. Once you find the roots just use the strainer to control the flow of water over the leaves. If you do it correctly you'll create a very potent brew. When you get it right bring the strainer back to me with a sample of your work.'

Hollow palm roots are a ground spawn in Hollowshade Moor, in the southern part of the zone near the grimling huts. Combine 1 x Hollow palm Roots + 1 x Crystal clear water + 1 x Metal Strainer to craft Hollow palm tea (trivial > 142) - (Recipe). Give the tea and the strainer to Merchant Ahlam.

Merchant Ahlam sips the tea. A bit of a glazed look comes across his face. Ahlam says, 'Mmmmm, I do so love Hollow palm tea. This is a bit mild for Hollow palm tea though, you might want to try adding some spices next time for a bit more flavor. Here's your strainer back, I etched some runes into that should add to the potency of your brews. I hear the grimlings make a very potent sort of tea from the grimroot out in the forest, but the thought of drinking anything made from grimroot makes my stomach churn. At any rate, tinker a bit with that strainer and don't be afraid of trying some new brews with it. If you create anything interesting that you think I might like bring it to me so I can taste it.'

You gain experience!

You receive a Runed Metal Strainer. You can find Grimroot as a ground spawn in Hollowshade Moor at -1950, -1045. Make Spiced Grimroot Tea by combining 1 x Grimroot + 1 x Spices (vendor-purchased) + 1 x Crystal clear water + 1 x Runed Metal Strainer (trivial 162). You can also make Spiced Hollow Palm Tea as suggested by adding Grimroot to the Hollow palm tea recipe (trivial 162). (Recipe 1) - (Recipe 2) - Give some Spiced Grimroot Tea to Merchant Ahlam.

Merchant Ahlam Sniffs the tea, his nose wrinkling up a bit as the fragrance infades his sinuses. He slowly brings the cup to his lips and takes a drink. He swallows it and then begins to cough. MA says. "What is this... *cough* ... made from _____? Grimroot? This is the grimroot tea that the grimlings make? It's not half bad. Very potent indeed. You've earned my seal of approval for that brew. Show me your Runed strainer and the seal and I'll bestow upon you the finest tool I have ever used.
You gain experience!!

You receive Ahlam's Approval.

Hand in the Runed strainer and Ahlam's Approval and you get this reply.

Merchant Ahlam says "Here you are ______, the finest tea strainer you will ever lay your eyes on. The acrylia in the handle will add to the spiritual enhancing effects of almost any brew. It will also take out any impurities in the water you use, so you can use the normal water flasks for your tea now. There are many types of tea across the lands that even I have never had the opportunity to experiment with. Don't be affraid to try new recipes with any strange vegetation you might come across with in your travels."
You gain experience!!

You receive Acrylia Handled Strainer and Ahlam's Approval.

He then asks for the approval and the Runed Metal Strainer. Give them both to him to receive an Acrylia Handled Strainer, which you can use in place of the Runed Metal Strainer to craft Spiced Grimroot Tea or Spiced Hollow Palm Tea (same trivials).

In the barracks of Katta Castellum, there is a sick guard named Legionnaire Neville at 170.42, -2094.40, 32.38.

You say, 'Hail, Legionnaire Neville'

Legionnaire Neville coughs a bit and looks up at you with tired, bleary eyes, 'Ugh, I have not had such a cold as this since I was a boy. I have heard of a tea-maker in the city of the Vah Shir that makes a stamina enhancing tea. I would like to try some and see if it might help.'

You say, 'What tea maker?'

Legionnaire Neville says 'ACHOO! Excuse me. It was some kind of root tea... saucy greyroot... sparkly greenroot... something like that I think. The brewer's name was... Adam... Lama... Oh I just cannot think straight.'

Give him some Spiced Grimroot Tea.

Legionnaire Neville says 'Oh that is good. I feel a little better already, thanks ______! A little more of that stuff and I'll be better in no time.'

Your faction standing with Validus Custodus got better.
Your faction standing with Katta Castellum Citizens got better.
Your faction standing with Magus Conlegium got better.
Your faction standing with Nathyn Illuminious got worse.
Your faction standing with Coterie of the Eternal Night got worse.
Your faction standing with Seru got worse.
Your faction standing with Hand of Seru got worse.
Your faction standing with Eye of Seru got worse.

You gain experience!!

Is there anything more after this step?

Okay, so ... working on this now and I hope to update some missing parts.

`````
Speaking to Gimali in Hollowshade Moor:
You say, 'Hail, Gamali'
Gamali Glances up at you for a moment and then grunts and turns back toward the water.
Give her a bottle. (I strongly suggest you buy a stack of 20 bottles and hand them all to her to fill. Just in case of future failures)
Gamali leans over and fills the bottle with cool clear liquid. Gamali says, 'So Merchant Ahlam has you doing his errands now does he? Well, here's your water. I can assure you it's of good quality.' She turns away and begins staring out into the distance.
Merchant Ahlam Sniffs the tea, his nose wrinkling up a bit as the fragrance infades his sinuses. He slowly brings the cup to his lips and takes a drink. He swallows it and then begins to cough. MA says. "What is this... *cough* ... made from _____? Grimroot? This is the grimroot tea that the grimlings make? It's not half bad. Very potent indeed. You've earned my seal of approval for that brew. Show me your Runed strainer and the seal and I'll bestow upon you the finest tool I have ever used.
Missing Dialog and Location for Legionnaire Neville
# Jan 16 2010 at 7:11 PM Rating: Good
**
346 posts
Legionnaire Neville is near 170.42, -2094.40, 32.38 in the NW-east most room in the barracks in the NE part of the zone.
Legionnaire Neville says 'Oh that is good. I feel a little better already, thanks ___! A little more of that stuff and I'll be better in no time.'
Then you get the faction updates.
So maybe if you feed him more Spiced Grimroot Tea, the response might change? I only had one on me. I'll have to try again later.
...
An additional two turn-ins does not result in any change in dialog (and I don't have the patience to camp the grimroot ground spawn any longer).
This particular part should probably be listed as a separate, linked quest, because it's probably just a way to improve your faction with Katta Castellum.
The Vah Shir Citizenship quest should be added as related quest as you need its reward, the Acrylia Slate of Shar Vahl, to start this one.
Stat Enhancing Drink
# Sep 26 2002 at 12:26 PM Rating: Decent
I made my first spiced hollow palm tea last night and found out something important, this can be used as a stat enhancing drink. True you can put this in your range slot for the wisdom effect or you can get the same effect by putting in a slot to be your primary drink (just like any of the stat enhancing foods). To me this is a much more valuable use, spiced hollow palm tea is super cheap to make and so can easily be used as my drink and I have a better wisdom item in my range slot, so all and all it is preferable to use this as a stat enhancing drink.
To Grabble's post below, is there a possible continuation to this quest? Ahlam says that you can bring back other brews for him to taste, and the NPC Grabble mentions in Katta asks for a stamina enhancing drink, Grabble gave him grimroot, that doesn't enhance stamina does it? Are there other types of teas we can brew that haven't been discovered?
Speak with Merchant Ahlam in Shar Vahl (2nd floor of the tavern at loc -201, -178). He will ask if you have come to help. Give him your personal acrylia slate and he will give you a 10-slot wrist pouch and return your personal acrylia slate. (Remember to have a container slot free for the pouch before you do this.)
Merchant Ahlam says 'Ah good I was hoping you'd be along soon. I need you to collect some Gravel tea leaves from below the city. I need these leaves to make some tea for the guards under the arena. I need 10 of these leaves to brew enough tea for the guards. Take this pouch and fill it with leaves and return it to me.
Fill the bag with ten gravel pit leaves, which are a rare drop off the young rockhoppers in the pit around Shar Vahl. Combine it, and return the pouch to Merchant Ahlam. He will give you his seal and ask if you are interested in Vah Shir brewing.
Merchant Ahlam says 'Many thanks Krishin, I'll be going to brew this tea up for the guards now. Take this seal as proof of your helping me. You wouldn't happen to know anyone who would be [interested] in learning the art of Vah Shir Brewing would you? I could really use the help in these hard times, I can barely keep up with all the demand.
If you say that you are interested, he tells you he will only teach those who have his seal. Hand the seal back to him, and he will give you an Acrylia sand filter with which to purify water.
Merchant Ahlam says 'Well done Krishin, it is now time to start down the path of learning the art of Vah Shir brewing. You'll need a steady hand if you are to master the brew barrel. The first thing you'll need to learn is how to purify the water we use for all our finest brews. Take this Acrylia filter and use it to [purify water]. Bring me 4 flasks of crystal clear water and I'll teach you how to make the tea from the gravel tea leaves.
Ask him how to purify water and he says that the only water that can be used must come from Gamali, who is in Hollowshade Moor on the shore north of the zone to Paludal Caverns (loc 1092, 2523). You must by hand her an empty bottle and in return you get a bottle of fresh water (no drop). Combine your filter and the water in a brew barrel and receive back your filter and a flask of Crystal Clear Water (trivial at 60 skill). (You no longer lose the filter on a failed combine - Jan. 25)
Give Merchant Ahlam 4 flasks of crystal clear water, and he will mention that Guard Jabbar under the arena needs a shipment of gravel leaf tea to help sedate the prisoners. He will give you an eight-slot container in which to place the tea to bring to the guard (and as of a recent patch, he now wants 8 teas in the container, not 6). The tea is made by combining a gravel pit leaf and a crystal clear water in a brew barrel. Trivial is greater than 94.
Merchant Ahlam says 'Very good Krishin, this water is perfect for making Gravel leaf tea. I've just received a message from Guard Jabbar under the arena needs a shipment of [Gravel leaf tea] to help sedate the prisoners. Fill a crate with bottles of Gravel leaf tea and take it to Guard Jabbar.
Bring the container with the 8 teas in it (combine it before handing it in!) to Guard Jabbar. Guard Jabbar will then give you his seal, which you then bring back to Merchant Ahlam.
Guard Jabbar says 'Ah the tea! I've been anxiously awaiting your arrival Krishin, we'd almost run out of that wonderful Gravel leaf tea. Take this seal back to Ahlam, and give him my thanks.
Upon giving the seal to Merchant Ahlam, he will give you a no drop metal strainer, and he will ask you to make Hollow Palm Tea.
Merchant Ahlam says 'Very good Krishin, the guards had been waiting for that tea all day. I think you're ready to move on to something a bit more challenging now. Take this strainer, it will allow you to create some very potent brews from some of the more rare herbs to be found near the city. You'll want to start by making some [Hollow palm tea] to get used to how the strainer works.
Merchant Ahlam has the following to say about Hollow palm tea:
Merchant Ahlam says 'You'll need some Crystal water, just as you do with all of our teas, and some Hollow palm roots. You can find Hollow palms out in the moors, watch out for the grimlings though. Once you find the roots just use the strainer to control the flow of water over the leaves. If you do it correctly you'll create a very potent brew. When you get it right bring the strainer back to me with a sample of your work.
Hollow palm roots are found in Hollowshade Moor, over on the islands that Gamali stands near. They are a ground spawn under the trees, and grimling herders path right through there, so if you can't take them on make sure none wander near you. Combine one root, crystal clear water, and the strainer in a brew barrel. It is not trivial skill 142, and every failure gives back the strainer. Result was Hollow Palm Tea, nothing special about it except that it was no drop. Hand the tea and strainer to Ahlam and he says:
Merchant Ahlam sips the tea. A bit of a glazed look comes across his face. Ahlam says, 'Mmmmm, I do so love Hollow palm tea. This is a bit mild for Hollow palm tea though, you might want to try adding some spices next time for a bit more flavor. Here's your strainer back, I etched some runes into that should add to the potency of your brews. I hear the grimlings make a very potent sort of tea from the grimroot out in the forest, but the thought of drinking anything made from grimroot makes my stomach churn. At any rate, tinker a bit with that strainer and don't be afraid of trying some new brews with it. If you create anything interesting that you think I might like bring it to me so I can taste it.
He then gives you back a runed metal strainer. Adding the spices like he suggests results in Spice Hollow Palm tea. (It's a whistle wetter that adds 2 wis and 10 Disease Resist, but the stats only work when equiped in the range slot). There seems to be no quest for it, but it's a known brewing variation.
Then it's time to make Spiced Grimroot Tea. (Grimroot, spices, crystal clear water, runed metal strainer.) Grimroots can be found as a ground spawn inside the grimling huts in Hollowshade Moor. Give Merchant Ahlam a Spiced Grimroot Tea, and he will give you seal of approval. He then asks for that seal and the strainer. Give both items to him and you will recieve an Acrylia Handled Strainer, which allows you to use normal flasks of water to make crystal clear water.
In the barracks of Katta Castellum, there is a sick legionnaire (Legionnaire Neville). Hail him for the following response:
Legionnaire Neville coughs a bit and looks up at you with tired, bleary eyes, 'Ugh, I have not had such a cold as this since I was a boy. I have heard of a tea-maker in the city of the Vah Shir that makes a stamina enhancing tea. I would like to try some and see if it might help.'
Asking him "what tea maker?" brings the following response:
Legionnaire Neville says 'ACHOO! Excuse me. It was some kind of root tea... saucy greyroot... sparkly greenroot... something like that I think. The brewer's name was... Adam... Lama... Oh I just cannot think straight.
Feed him the spiced grimroot tea results in faction and a small amount of experience.
(quest extract repeated from eqtraders... hope this helps you all)
This looks like a nice quest, except for one minor problem.
What is the acrylia slate I am supposed to give? As lvl 26 Erudite Mage, I do not have one.
You or a friend needs to create a Vah Shir character to throw away. Have the Vah Shir hand the newbie note in, take the application to the registrar, then to the tax collector in the bank and then back to the registrar, but don't do the hand in. Log your character on, go to Mignah and get your acrylia slate and head to the registrar. Now go back to your Vah Shir and have them hand in the stamped application. Log your character back on, hand in the slate and receive the acrylia slate you need for the quests!
Anyone can get an acrylia slate. Merely go to the bar next to the north bridge, on the top floor is an NPC named Mingah (sp?). Walk up to her and say "I need my acrylia slate" poof...there you go.
It can be Multi quested if you have a Vah Shir Mule to do part of it for you... (its been a while now so its a bit hazy)
One of the hand-ins has two parts to it, This part can be multiquested. ie. You get your Vah Shir mule to do the work up to the point of the first hand in (to do with his apprentice letter etc) then you use your main character to hand in the second needed item and voila... you get the item back instead of your mule.
This will quite obviously only work for classes that are supported in terms of a Vah Shir mule. (I was lucky in that being a shaman I could make a Vah Shir one to get me started).
Ok, got past giving the guard in the prisons the cask of tea, turned in the coin he gave me and was sent to brew some palm hollow root tea.
Ahlam text "You'll need some crystal water, just as you do with all of our teas, and some hollow palm roots. (found in the moors under palm trees)
You can find Hollow palms out in the moors, watch out for grimlings though. Once you find the roots just use the strainer to control the flow of water over the leaves. If you do it correctly you'll create a very potent brew. When you get it right bring the strainer back to me with a sample of your work."
This is not trival at skill 53. After 33 tries i made one brew. I turned in the brew and strainer to Ahlam and this is the text that followed:
"Mmm, i do so love hollow palm tea. This is a bit mild for hollow palm tea though, you might want to try adding some spices next time for a bit more flavor. Here's your strainer back, i etched some runes into that should add to the potency of your brews. I hear the grimlings make a very potent sore of tea from the grimroot out in the forest, but the thought of drinking anything made from grimroot makes my stomach churn. At any rate, tinker a bit with with that strainer and don't be afraid of trying some new brews with it. If you create something interesting that you think i might like bring it to me so I can taste it."
None of the brews I made had any added stats or could be placed in the range slot. This is where I am at in the quest. Not sure where to go from here. Any ideas would be welcome.
I used crystal water, hollow palm root, runed strainer, and spices from the brewing merchant downstairs from ahlam (through the door behind the bar) and produced spiced hollowpalm tea that is range equipable. It was not trivial at skill level of 105. You can also buy a bag of spices from the food merchants near the throneroom.
So it is possible :-)
Now I can't find the grimroot. Does anyone know if it spawns in the huts or under the huts in the grimling village? And, is it any of the grimling villages or just the village that has the chieftain?
Good luck with this one all.
Next Step?
I got my Acrylia Handled Strainer, and was able to make the Grimroot and Hollow palm teas (both of which go in the range slot and add stats)without trips to Gamali. He doesn't seem to care about my Hollow palm tea, but gives me a seal for each Grimroot tea I give him. But he doesn't tell me what to do next, only to bring him any new recipes I make. But I haven't gotten anything with any other herbs. Anyone know what the next step of this is?
Grimroot
# Jun 27 2002 at 11:11 PM Rating: Decent
The Grimroot is in the huts (any of them). I used invis to get in, but you could just grab the roots and run as fast as you can. (I did that a few times too.) =)
Bride's Promise
Hi all,
I have the Prima guide to Luclin and it lists an item on the second to last page, under brewing items, called "Bride's Promise" Has anyone heard of, or see this item? It lists it's sale price to merchants at 1K . I am wondering what the heck it is - especially since I will be wed Saturday.
Please e-mail me if you know anything about this stuff.
This is NOT for the ceremonial strainer
# Apr 08 2002 at 12:43 PM Rating: Default
Basically, this quest is just a progressive brewing quest. If you want to challenge yourself it is worth it. If not...brew the fierce brew or similar listed further below to gain skill. The biggest pain in this whole quest is getting the gravel pit tea leaves. Jeez those things are hard to get, but the rest is pretty easy to obtain.
Ceremonial Strainer
# Mar 28 2002 at 12:35 PM Rating: Decent
This is not the quest to get the ceremonial strainer. That quest requires you to follow the last instruction given to you by the man in the shaman's guild. Find Fharra Cawfeet on the northern end of town and she'll start you on your quest for the ceremonial strainer.
Where is this Guard Jabbar at? I guess i got lucky because after around 40 leaves (have 7 leaves left unused)and 3 days hunting rock hoppers. I made the 8 Teas that are required now. My brewing is up to 42 only. Good luck to all who try this Quest because it will try your game patience. The other Post is correct about killing scopions to trigger spawn of Young rock hoppers. I know I have been there, lol.
Its not just beetles , scorpions or anything. Just keep killing everything and eventually young hoppers spawn. Seems they are random like others just have a bit lower chance of spawning
Just thought you all may want to know that after raising 2 beastlords to teens and early 20's in the pit I have learned that it is the beatles that spawn the young rockhoppers. A friend and I tested the theory and sure enough every time we killed a few beatles at least 2-3 young rockhoppers appeared. This was done in wee hours of the morning with noone else in pit. Hope this helps get those hoppers popping:)
Gravel Tea Leaves
# Feb 15 2002 at 2:28 AM Rating: Decent
I finally completed the Gravel Tea Leaf Brewing phase of this quest I got my Brewing level up to 68 and went trough the tedious task of collecting the Gravel tea leaves again. I collected 12 leaves and stared the brewing; out of the 12 leaves ( One Gravel Tea Leaves one Crystal Clear Water ) I made 6 bottles of the Tea. So back to the pits to get more. I Found 5 more leaves thinking naively this should be enough to complete this Quest. So back to brewing. Out of the five leaves only one was successful. Back to the Pits to my extreme frustration I fail the next eleven times, was successful on my twelfth attempt. Does anyone know of a way to buy the items to increase the brewing levels from venders past 68 .
RE: Gravel Tea Leaves
# May 13 2002 at 3:50 PM Rating: Default
another good recipe is 2xBrewed,2x Stout Dwarven ale. 2 dwarven ales,2 short beers,and cask. yields 2. triv at around 140. expect to fail a bit with these too. also cost is a little bit more.
RE: Gravel Tea Leaves
# Mar 28 2002 at 1:41 PM Rating: Decent
Ol'tijims fierce brew.
1 barley
1 hops
1 malt
1 yeast
1 cask
This will take you to 135. Expect a lot of failures at first at 68 but the stuff is fairly inexpensive.
Gravel Pit leaves
# Feb 11 2002 at 2:14 AM Rating: Decent
I turn in the 10 Gravel Pit leaves to Merchant Ahlam he than gave me the Filter and request I turn in the 4 Crystal Clear Water. Which again I did . I followed the advice in this post and got my brewing up to 36. I also read in this post brewing the tea still was not trivial at 72. At what level should I try to brew the tea . The message was not clear on how many gravel pit leaves I need to brew the tea and how much water. Can I put in 8 water (not stack) and three gravel pit tea leaves. Any advice you be appreciated I am a level 15 Beastlord and I can only find the Young Rockhoppers in the pit when lower level players are in the area It takes me too much time getting the gravel pit leaves. I scream when I read I had to get more of the leaves for the next part of the quest.
# Jan 27 2002 at 9:18 PM Rating: Default
My brewing is up to 142, I got as far as the Spice Hollow Palm Tea and the runed strainer. Just before that I lost the filter in the brew barrel beside the Master Brewer but felt happy that I had the strainer. I gave a Spiced Tea to Merchant Ahlam per his suggestion of anything new, and nothing happened. Went to Merchant Ayadd as per the post, and he gave the tea back to me saying he couldn't use it. Thinking it was an error in names I went back to Merchant Ahlam and turned in the filter with more Tea to get the Acrylia Handled one. Now I have neither Filter nor Strainer. Is this quest the one that continues to the Cerimonial Strainer needed for the wolfbane quest everyone keeps asking me about?
you can get your brewing skill to 36, at 8 coppers a try and a little time ,, well quite a bit to get the first ten tea leaves,
Just make crystal clear water till you get to skill 36. Oh and try not to feed the rockhoppers and beetles out in Hollow Shade, they will pick your bones clean.
quest reportedly fixed
# Jan 25 2002 at 12:08 PM Rating: Decent
It appears that this quest was origionally bugged, but has been fixed. You may only need 6 or 8 of the tea leaves to combine, try reducing the number if it DNCs.
Young Rockhoppers are only in the Pit of Shar Vahl, and the leaves are an uncommon drop on them. Not nearly as rare as claws.
Gamali is on the shore of the lake in Hollowshade. Follow the RH wall when you zone in, and then follow the shore when you hit water. She is the only one there, will not speak untill you ask for water.
This is worthwhile, the next couple of brewed teas give resistances. I believe you still need to equip them in your Range slot to get the resists, as the drink stat bonuses seem to be broken.
