The lures that I have now are made of low quality Acrylia and scare the fish away rather than attract them. I want to make a new lure, and on my way in I noticed the dull color of the [scorpions]. I would have moved closer to them but unfortunately I am deathly allergic to the poisons found in scorpion venom.' You say, 'What scorpions?' Dharr Nadim says 'The scorpions are at the bottom of the canyon surrounding the city. If you can bring me four shells to make a few lures, I will give you my old lure. Be careful making your way down the ledges, as there are many steep drops.' You say, 'I will bring you scorpion shells.' There are no faction changes from this quest. It returns the lure earring and experience.
lol on my 5 bst i got the shells in minutes flat! was actually looking for scorrpion legs, but i collected 4 shells and 4 legs in under 10 kills. the lure is a nice light source btw

I did this as a 24 zerk. EASY! and fast. Killed around 6 scorpions to get the four shells. Took less than an hour

Ok I read about this one, had my Barbarian Shaman travel over here to try it out, she is level 6, just one blue into it. I talk with Dharr, and go down to hunt ... and hunt ... and hunt ... were the heck did 30 minutes come from for this one, or even common??? A level 7 Beastlord said it found them all the time when he hunted there, but it sure was not happening for me. I did not have anything else to do, so you guessed it, I hunted ... and hunted. One and a half hours later I had four!!!! And true to his word, Dharr game that old lure :) Not one of my higher rated quests.

Its really just about plain old luck. Sometimes it takes you less than half an hour to get those shells and other times it can be up to 2-3 hours (that is if you dont give up before that time ;) ). I have done this quest 2 times already with 2 different characters. One time it was real easy but the other time I cussed this quest to hell and back.

But the real question is, can you use it instead of bait to fish? And is that why you can put it in the range slot? : )

where can i find Dharr Nadim?
Dharr Nadim is at loc -352, 113 in Shar Vahl. Hope that helps.

He's one of the merchants sitting along the north wall of one the buildings in the south section of the city, near the south gate. I'll try and grab a loc next time I'm there.
Loc is n340 117.
My Beastlord got the shells for this while hunting for scorpion legs and picked one of these up. Considering the minimal time investment and low level needed, this is a pretty nice reward. Especially since a non-twinked character isn't going to have anything else to put in their ear slots yet.
