Dill Fireshine (Ranger Guildmaster) may be found in the ranger's guild hall at -434, +519, +118.16 He's on Find (Ctrl+F). You'll need Apprehensive faction with Faydarks Champions to obtain this quest.
After completing the Orc Hatchets quest: Dill Fireshine says 'Fantastic work!! Your actions shall earn you the respect of all Fier'Dal! Take this as a small bounty for your deed. We have heard of [Crushbone allies] who wish our demise.' You say, 'What Crushbone allies who wish our demise?' Dill Fireshine says 'It seems the orcs have allied themselves with the wicked Teir'Dal. We know of this through reports of a Teir'Dal presence within Crushbone. We must [intercept the Crushbone runners] and find a reason for their union.' You say, 'I will intercept the Crushbone runners.' Dill Fireshine says 'Go to the Butcherblocks. You stand a greater chance of finding the runners there. I shall pay a bounty for all returned runner pouches.' orc runner spawns in Butcherblock Mountains in front of the tree next to the Greater Faydark zone line at location -971, -2831, then runs across the zone. Kill him to loot Sealed Letter and Runner Pouch. You have slain orc runner. Your faction standing with Crushbone Orcs has been adjusted by -50. Your faction standing with Storm Guard has been adjusted by 2. Your faction standing with Faydarks Champions has been adjusted by 7. i was killin 1 f those lizard things in BB when an orc runer came up an hit me after i killed lizard i killed him he had both items so i was lucky)

I've done this quest at least 3 times. But when i asked about the note i was told to give it to the General in Felwithe in the basement of the big white building with the PoD. I give the pouch to Dill and the note to General. I'm gonna try it once more to see if the loot will be better if I give both to Dill. First time I recieved 3 rusty scimitars some gold and exp. after that loot didnt seem as good.

My friend and I killed a few orc runners and we are level 6. I think together we did it when we were level 5 even...

I used alliance on Dill, and he gave me good Xp and a platinum even though I hadn't done any of the other quests

did this quest in about 15min. didn't get the note but did get the pouch. Brought pouch back to Dill and recieved decent exp (even for a 12lvl) and lore item only leggings. will find out if you get different type of armour during play.

BTW, you do not need to do the orc hatchet quest first in order to complete the orc runner quest, he just won't give you the info on the orc runner quest till you've done the other first, so just give the items to him and that will be that

At the Gfay entrance of BB the Orc Runner spawns on the North side of the first huge tree on the right when you walk into BB. appox: -950, -2840, 12
If you stand to the left of the starting point of the path he will run right at you. Have your bow or snare spell ready. He spawns about every 20 minutes or so. A pawn or cent will spawn there occasionally.

If you're a wood elf and especially a ranger, you should have more than enough faction to complete this quest.
I do the hatchet and pixie dust all of the time and now the entire city views me "warmly" and the first two quests are really worth it with the hatchet one giving you rusty weapons and the occasional iron rapier while the pixie dust will give you a random peice of tattered armor. Both also give some XP plus bus fair.

When my ranger was exploring BB as a low level no-body, it seemed like this guy was always spawning and running by, but he always conned red abd occasionally yellow. Now that I'm 10th level, am relatively lethal with a bow and can cast snare, I never see hide nor hair of him even though I've spent hours in the area and hit track everytime I can and aint fighting.

I have a problem, I never knew about the Orc Hatchet quest when I was a newbie. Now Ive got the Orc Runner NODROP items as he attacked me on sight. How many times do u have to give the Orc Hatchets in to complete the quest?
Every time I give 2 in he asks for 2 more, yet the same guy gives you this quest.

After you give him the hatchets he'll mention orc spies or something like that - just scroll up through the text - it probobly got lost when one of the NPCs around him started casting - the amount of spam you get in the Ranger guild combined with all of the usual chatter and non-stop auctioning in Greater Fay makes it real easy to lose conversations.

My Hubby found out last night, that you will get crap. . absofrickinlutly nuthin' for this quest if you don't have good faction with the Champions of Faydwer. Just letting you peeps know.

This is true, it happend to my level 8 dwarven cleric as well. I was so excited because someone let me loot the pouch off of the body they had killed. I took it to Fireshine and he just took it and gave me zilch. Guess I will work on my faction before doing this again!

Spend a day or two romping through Crushbone and turn in a couple loads of belts in Kaladim. If I remember rightly, killing CB orcs gives you Emerald Warriors (Kelethin warrior guild), Soldiers of Tunare (Kelethin ranger guild, and StormGuard (Kaladim warrior guild). Turning in the belts gives other faction boosts too.
Actually the faction you get from killing CB orcs is:
+EmeraldWarriors (Kelethin warrior guild and city guards)
+StormGuard (Kaladim warrior guild and city guards)
+FaydarksChampions (Kelethin ranger guild)
-IndigoBrotherhood (Neriak warrior guild)
-CrushboneOrcs
The faction you get for turning in CB belts and shoulderpads is different (this WON'T help with doing the Orc Runner quest):
+StormGuard
+MerchantsOfKaladim (Dwarf NPC vendors)
+MinersGuild249 (not sure who these guys are)
+KazonStormhammer (the king of the Dwarves)
-CraknekWarriors (Ogguk warrior guild)
I am pretty certain of this, as I have spent MUCH time in CB and am now getting the "can't get any better" faction message for StormGuard and FaydarksChampions, and "can't get worse" for CBOrcs.
You don't get any SoldiersOfTunare (who are the Felwithe guards/warriors) faction for either of those (as was incorrectly stated in the above message), but that's okay, since the faction you need to do this quest is FaydarksChampions. As a reward for doing this quest, you get SoldiersOfTunare and ClericsOfTunare faction, but there are no minimum requirements in those factions for the quest to work.

I have killed him solo about 12 times. He cons Blue at lvl13. Not tough and wont run away. just hangs in there till dead. He drops the pouch and letter about 1/2 the time. 1/4 time just the pouch. the rest , some cloth items and a CB belt. There is NO reason to run all over the zone looking for him. Just sit near the entrance to Gfay, and i do mean sit, he will attack you when he comes by. It is a LOOOOOOOONNNNNNNNGGGGGGG spawn. very boring just sitting there. But I tell you, it is a sure thing. Got about 1/4 bub xp each time for pouch and letter. Less for pouch alone. 1pp 4s in cash, a leather item and a longbow for Dill Fireshine. The bow sells for 1pp 8g and the leather item for about 1pp. It was a good quest, wish i'd done it sooner. Would have gotten more xp i'm sure.

General Jyleel in the basement of the Felwithe paladin guildhall also wants the pouch. If you are a high elf paladin, give it to him once to honor Tunare (and get the quest he gives) but take all the rest to Dill. The good General will give you a ration (!) for your efforts; Dill pays much better.

I got armor and i completed the quest before i was lvl 10! it was rawhide.not bad for a newbie quest really light and not so bad ac i think it was 8.

Well I've been hunting in ButcherBlock for at least a day and yesterday I was hunting with a Paldin buddy. See we were both level 7 and well we killed the Orc Runner. Plus just a few minutes ago I had an encounter with another Orc Runner and he was Con White/Black to me. So I would say that the minimum level is 8-9, it's only 10 if you find a hard one.
