From what I have seen so far, the gems and marks involved in the twilight armors are easiest to come by... they tend to drop off random normal mobs in the zones involved, and I also have found them for sale in the bazaar. The hardest and rarest pieces are the ones dropping off the named mobs, which almost mandate having a tracker in order to find these guys. I have been camping the zones as well as prowling the bazaar hoping someone will be selling them (they are droppable), but I havent had any luck yet.
This armor is more of a novelty or collector's item for me than anything else, but it is frustrating how time consuming the quests are. Oh well, guess if I didn't think it was worth it, I wouldnt be doing it =)
EDIT: oops think I made an error, think only the gems drop off random creatures... other items drop off the named.
