You say, 'Hail Erus Ereptor Yuka'

Erus Ereptor Yuka says 'So you think you think you can help the Eye? I doubt it. You see we have plenty of men rooted in all the jobs that need to be done. So any service you have to offer would be of little use to us. I know every move that the Loyalists make. So please move along maybe someone has some other menial task for you. If you don't mind I need to get back to these [diagrams].'

You say, 'What diagrams'

Erus Ereptor Yuka says 'Diagrams of the Loyalist City. They are nearly completed except for a few areas. We have our best operatives trying to map those areas. they always remain hidden, but due to the vampyres living in the city they are always detected. They have a sense for blood, they can smell it in the air. So far our operatives have been luck by [escaping] over the wall of Katta.'

You say, 'escaping'

Erus Ereptor Yuka says 'Yes but there is a rogue that is still unaccounted for. He had an escape route that was planned through the Twilight Sea. He was to swim to safety in the Twilight Sea. I am sure he is fine but if you want something to do so badly, take this letter to Elisah Astari and tell him you are taking over in his search for Tergus Raslin.'

Erus Ereptor Yuka gives you Reassignment Orders (no drop parchment).

Go to the Twilight Sea near the entrance to Scarlet Desert and you will find Elisah Astari keeping watch from atop a rock.

You say, 'Hail, Elisah Astari'

Elisah Astari says 'Not to be rude, but I am on a very important mission right now and I cannot be bothered.'

Give him the Reassignment Orders.

Elisah Astari says, 'So you have been sent to relieve me? Not that I need I need it but if you were ordered by Yuka then I will tell you what I know. Tergus Raslin was given the escape route that leads through Twilight Sea. He was to suppose to come through Scarlet Desert, so he should be coming this way. It has been a few days though and I do not know what has become of him. I will head back to Sanctus Seru to let Yuka know you are on the case.

Tergus appears to spawn north from Elisah and runs south. He will be invis so bring some form of see invisbility. Spotted locations around 150,1900.

You say, 'Hail, Tergus Raslin'

Tergus Raslin turns to speak to you, you notice his face is very pale. 'You must leave me alone. I must get back to Sanctus Seru immediately. I have much [work] to do.'

You say, 'what work'

Tergus Raslin moves in quick bursts of speed and starts to attack, his screams of torment reveal sharp fangs. 'Argh! I said leave me be!'

Kill Tergus Raslin, hits for 50-75ish, I was not buffed. Does have 'blood drain' for 200.

Return to Sanctus Seru and find Erus Ereptor Yuka, give him Shattered Praetor Blade.

Erus Ereptor Yuka says 'He was caught? I cannot believe one of my own men would fail me. If he was caught he deserved whatever they gave to him. Still though tainting him with vampyrism is something that could have seriously affected this town. He could have done much damage before his time for the question arose. Faction for killing Tergus Raslin:

Validus Custodus +2
Coterie of the Eternal Night +2
Shoulders of Seru +5
Heart of Seru +2

Nathyn Illuminious -20

Doing this with a ranger. As soon as i turned the letter in, Tergus appeared on track. I ran straight north from Elisah and ran into Tergus at about 150, 1900 running along the beach (toward the south). He was (invis) and responded to the hail but not the prompt. I killed him anyway and got the Shattered Blade.

Once you turn in the note, Tergis spawned for me today. I caught him heading from the water towards the Scarlet Desert ZL. Conned dark blue to me at level 42, easy kill. From start to finish this quest takes all of 15 minutes tops and yields a nice weapon!

After I got the Letter of relief I drank a pot that sent me back to PoK, went into GH and ported to Twilight. Swam towards the Scarlet Desert ZL and there is where the action takes place. Elisah is standing on a rock near the ZL, and after the turn in it was maybe 3-4 minutes before I spotted Tergis. You do need to see invis though. The travel back to Sanctus is what takes the most time lol...have fun!!

Info you can use regarding questing this sword. (warriors doing this solo perspective)

As lvl 53 Dwarven Brell Warrior i had no faction issues in SS.

1: Quest begins in Sanctus Seru with Erus Ereptor Yuka.
Erus Ereptor Yuka can be found in the NE square pyramid looking building past the pools in Santucs. The entrance has an EYE over the door. Take a left in front of the stairs and you will see him.
Text to say to him:
Hail him next say “'What diagrams”, and finally “escaping, “ You will get the Reassignment Orders.

2: get to Twilight your best way. If you TL or get ported into TS, you will head WEST to the scarlet desert zone. To the LEFT of the SD entrance is a Trog camp (alien dudes green to lvl 53)
You will see Elisah Astari at the top of the Large Rock LEFT of the Fire pit at the Trog camp. (he is buggy and sometimes pops in the rock)

3: If you have SEE Invis cast on you: Give the orders to Elisah Astari. He will despawn and Tergus Raslin' will spawn immediately behind the rock you are standing on.

If you DON’T have see invis: Hand in orders then zone over to SD, then immediately zone back into TS, Tergus Raslin' will be near the zone line.
Hail him and say “what work” He will attack immediately.

4: Tergus Raslin' cons Blue to lvl 53 warrior. Tough solo at 940 AC unbuffed and average gear.
Hardest hit was for 91, but low 40s mostly. Easy fight UNTIL he dropped below 25%
I used Evasive disc not sure of how bad he would hit. Mistake. Probably better to have used charge when he was 20%. He procd that 200 pt life tap 4 times in a row at less than 20%. Before that I was still at 85% Hps.

When is dead, loot shattered blade(no other loot not even coin) then return to Erus Ereptor Yuka for turn in and your new sword. The proc on the sword is great for agro.

With a pocket druid or fellow guild friend, this can be done in about an hour. I was able to get the quest at indifferent.

Hope this helps. Good Luck.

All this info is so old...I don't think that Tergus Raslin pops anymore...I've tried it for eight consecutive hours/pops, and handed in the orders with my veracious concord song playing(see invis), with no Tergus...Sorry, I'll keep trying but eight hours is a hard day.

Did this quest today, with a level 1 twin. Handed in the Letter, Elisah despawned and Tergus immediately spawned , halfway up the map north of Elisah and walked south towards me.

Spent quite a while waiting for Tergus to pop today with a friend, and had to pop him twice before I realized that the reason ppl might be having trouble finding him is that he invisi's himself IMMEDIATELY after popping...won't show up on track, and if you manage to hail him before he invisi's, he will still invisi himself. Also...He conned DB to me , at lvl 38, and quickly dispensed with me and my friend (lvl 40 ranger). Overcon? Not quite. Between the speed of his hits and the blood drain I figure he hit me for close to 800 pts in under 30 seconds. Rangers....bring a couple friends. :) Also, it appears that Elisa Astari re-pops just about 1 hour after you de-spawn him

Quick note on a few other things I've noticed...

On Kane-Bayle, Elisa sometimes pops INSIDE a rock...can be very confusing to try and find him when this happens. Also very hard to target him when he's in there. Heh.

Tergus also seems to have some issues with his pathing...passes through rocks, disappears into the wall....nothing special to a vampire, but annoying to the rest of us that have to wait for him to come OUT of the wall. Obviously, this should be reported, and it appears that these problem are currently being addressed, but until it's fixed...

To rangers that are after this, and possibly any other lvl ~40 players, I snagged a lvl 49 wizzy to help me out...snare, root, root, root, root, root, refresh snare, root, root....you get the idea. Wizzy nuked nonstop until he turned to run, then I melee'd till he was down. He resisted easily 70% of my roots and snares, and I'm almost positive that the wizzy threw in a few roots for good measure. I'd do it again, but I'd still bring at least one more person. Of course, it appears that his lvl ranges quite a bit, so others may not have the same difficulty I had.

On the side, I've had the sword for a few weeks now, and I like it quite a bit. Add Call of Sky to the sword, and it's a nice lil poker. Now to go after that haste item......heh heh heh.

I tried this quest on Povar today as a 40 ranger and depopped Astari but Reslin never spawned and after 1 hour Astari was back. Eep is this quest working and in existence still?

Well I am going to try it again soon and hope it works next time... if anyone has more information as to where he spawns let me know and please respond. He was not on track at all and I kept hitting my track button and sat there next to the zone to Scarlet Desert.

You're the second person on my server in the past few weeks who's said Reslin isn't spawning properly.

Hmmmm. I have completed the quest, on Povar. So it did work at one point. But I did the quest months ago.

My best advice would be to report this bug. And keep reporting it. And hopefully they'll fix it in an upcoming patch.

You need to raise your factions with the body parts of Seru to complete this quest as an ogre.

There are a few different ways to raise factions.

1) Kill in Katta. Unfortunately, you need to get through Katta to get to Twilight Sea. So this is probably not the best way to do it.

2) Hand in Zelniak Meats. Unfortunately you need to be non-KoS to get to the guy you hand the meat into.

3) Hand in vampyre ashes. This may actually work. So killing vamps for their ashes should be able to get you to dubious allowing you entry into Seru unmolested. But you're going to need a lot of ashes and a lot of time. Faction building in Seru is slow at the lower levels.

4) Kill Thought Horrors in Mons Letalis. This raises all Seru factions with no negatives. It's the best way to go about getting the faction. It's also very slow.

5) Kill Recusos. This raises all seru factions, but has negative smugglers of the haven hits. It's also very slow to raise factions.

So far those are the only ways I know of to raise your seru factions.

Hope that helps. And good luck.

He was hitting my rogue for a max of 95 which means he is about 35-38 in level.

Whoever said that his spawn lvl is the same everytime. THe on post says 35-38, and they are guessing the lvl based on the amount of dmg he does. Maybe he spawn lvl is really something like 37-41, and you just got unlucky by gettin the higher lvl spawn?

Anyhow, dont think it really matters. Get a couple friends take him out, end of story. His lvl doesnt matter if he is dead.

Hey my warrior was using a kunzar and a yak for a long time. Laugh if you will about being "old school" but I held aggro pretty well when that little snare went off. This is a weapon i would definatly look into. Be a very nice complement to the kunzar methinks.

Well, I highly doubt a walking corpse (er Ranger) could solo this. Mostly likely you had a group with you, ie cleric etc. In that case, sure, he was easy.
RE: .
# Jul 20 2002 at 1:21 PM Rating: Decent
Yeah!!! What they said!!! I've had a better time soloing with a ranger than a lot of other classes I've played. I think my ranger was a much better soloer under 20 than my bard was, even though I prefer the bard (hey, blue's my color no offense there ranger people). I think rangers rock. The only reason you might call him a walking corpse is probably because you were grouped with one and got him killed or you trained them.

"I meant ISNT real great, over all IMO this wepon sucks besides the delay, and maybe the proc"

This weapon builds more aggro than many of these commonly used warrior weapons around the level people can attain it:

Lamentation
Centi Longsword
Centi Shortsword
Wurmslayer
Jarsath Trident
Black Blade of Tormenting
Goranga Spiked Club

The proc you so non-chalantly shrug off is a very effective hate building debuff spell.

Considering warriors in their 40s are always struggling to hold aggro, I would think more people would take this quest and its reward a bit more seriously.

Then again, way too many people are jaded, twinked or jaded and twinked.

Still, I seriously doubt anything I say can or will change anyone's mind. People can keep using their lammies and wondering why they can't maintain aggro over that monk in their group.

I'll keep using this thing and keeping the clerics, chanters, wizards, monks and rogues in my groups happy.

seems like a perfectly good reward for a not-too-difficult quest.

not everyone has an 'uber' guild behind them, or a friend who has been playing for 2 years with a bank full of gear, or 50k to burn. my twinkie cleric runs into plenty of people who are still struggling along with less-than-ideal gear. if they don't have the resources to get better things, quests like this are a nice alternative. if you're lvl 40ish and can get a few friends together, you can get a decent weapon with a little work. besides, questing can (ideally) be kinda fun...

i'm glad to see relatively attainable quests with decent rewards for mid-level players.

Yeah SSoY used to be 10k, now they're 200, and they're still just as god as they were back in the day. This weapon looks to be even better than the ssoy, it has + stats, less delay, and a good debuffing proc, IMHO I'd probably take it over paying 200 - 500pp for an SSoY

I just did this quest, traveling to Twilight from Seru is a bit of a pain, but with a watchful eye and camo, and a good zone connection map from EQ Atlas It was doable.

Me (45th Ranger) and a 52nd Warrior had no difficulties in vanquishing Raslin. More than likely the Warrior could have Soloed him. At 45 he conned blue, didn't hit too hard, but his drain was kinda painful (had it double proc and i decided to back up and let the warrior have the agro)

I imagine he could be soloed by a 45ish hybrid if they were decently equiped (i'm not) or very resourceful (kiting ect). For casters, it should be a sinch, he didn't have a lot of hitpoints, not sure how resistant he is, only cast snare at him, and it stuck right away.

Oh! and as a warning, be careful bringing friends who are KOS in seru, Elisah killed our iksar necro rather quickly (spell interupt a FD, and then attacking a laying down necro...)

Good luck!

You can raise many Seru factions:
- Haven Smugglers
+ Hand of Seru
+ Heart of Seru
+ Eye of Seru
+ Shoulders of Seru
by killing various Recuso(s) in Marus Seru which are level 17-29. The problem comes in that killing these lowers your Haven Smugglers. The Necro, SK, Warrior, and Rogue guild-masters in Echo Caverns appear to be on Haven Smugglers faction, so are a handful of guards. I haven't found any quests or mobs to raise Haven Smugglers faction yet.

Second and better possibility is if you are of sufficient level, 38-45, to kill Thought Leeches and Greater Horrors, mobs reported in Mons Letalis; these supposedly raise:
+ Seru
+ Hand of Seru
+ Eye of Seru
+ Heart of Seru
+ Shoulders of Seru
+ Citizens of Seru
as well and do not lower your Haven Smugglers. A few other mobs have +Seru faction here too.

This looks to be a really easy quest, for a pretty decent weapon for any melee who likes to solo (heck, useful in groups too without a debuffer around).

The only things I can think of are
1.) You need to do mucho faction work to GET the quest.
2.) The MoB isn't easy after all, or he sticks the 200 Blood Drain on you every round.

Any insights? I'm going to try this tonight; we'll see what happens...
RE: Am I missing something?
# Dec 14 2001 at 12:22 PM Rating: Good
1: You can be as low as dubious to do this quest.
2: The mob ISN'T as easy as made out to be, he's blue to a 51, has the 200 point blood drain that goes off about as often as a normal proc on a weapon, and double hits for around 100. He won't be easy for a normal solo melee class 50-55, but he is possible. I wouldn't try it below 47. But for a casting class he should be a sinch, not many hp's, doesn't hit you with the blood drain unless he's right next to you, so just root nuke him.

what category would the proc fall under ie disease, poison, etc.? and btw I don't think I'd have too much trouble with this guy at 45(paladin) even from your description.

btw, is there any chance to mq this? only possibility I see is having my little ranger buddy loot the blade after I kill the guy and camp.

If you do *anything* in Sanctum Seru or Katta Castellum, you will probably get tons of faction adjustments.

This isn't the old world, where they would only tie 5 factions to an action. Example: killing paladins may lower faction with their cleric friends, but doing quests for enemies of the paladins may not lower faction with their cleric friends because there wasn't enough room to tie the cleric faction to the quest.

Luclin is ten times more complicated: killing paladins will lower faction with paladins, all of their friends, and every good person in their city, as well as raising faction with every single one of their enemies, and possibly even the allies of their enemies. All with one long burst of faction spam!

Be very careful about how you treat your factions on Luclin... It may prove to be nearly impossible to "correct" your mistakes later on down the road, and you'll just end up tying your factions into a huge knot that you can't undo.
