Tobala Honeyjar may be found at 61, -340, 2.

You say, 'Hail, Tobala Honeyjar'

Tobala Honeyjar says 'Hello ______! I am Governess Tobala Honeyjar of Katta Castellum. Overseeing the maintenance of the [Nocturnal Gardens] is just one of my duties as the governess of agriculture and ecology.'

You say, 'What Nocturnal Gardens?'

Tobala Honeyjar says 'These are the Nocturnal Gardens in which we now stand. It is a collection of flora from various regions of the dark side of Luclin. It is a shame that we are not capable of supplying the nutrients necessary to maintain flora from the light side of Luclin. If you wish to assist in the maintenance of the garden I have some [tasks] you may be helpful in completing.'

You say, 'What tasks?'

Tobala Honeyjar says 'I am in need of ingredients to create more [fertilizer] and in need of a competent forager to gather some [rare plants] for me.'

(The quest for rare plants is listed separately.)

You say, 'What fertilizer?'

Tobala Honeyjar says 'How humble of you to assist me with my mundane tasks! Take this bag and fill it with Three piles of Owlbear Dung, Three Piles of Fungus Compost, and Two Piles of Netherbian Nitrate.'

You receive an 8-slot Empty Fertilizer Bag. Fill it with the required items, all of which are foraged, to craft a Full Fertilizer Bag.

Owlbear Dung: Paludal Caverns
Fungus Compost: Paludal Caverns, Fungus Grove.
Netherbian Nitrate: Netherbian Lair

After handing it in, you receive a Midnight Tangelo.

Tobala Honeyjar says, 'Oh! Thank you so much! You have saved much time and trouble! Now if only those tinkerers in the Illuminarium Industria could figure out how to get that artificial light working!'
You gain experience!!
Your faction standing with Concillium Universus has gotten better!

she wouldn't take the full fertilizer bag from my gnome warrior. I am assuming this is only for foraging classes.

Not worth while
# Oct 03 2002 at 11:04 AM Rating: Good
This quest is not worthwhile unless you happen to have the foraged items in your inv when you roll through this place.

There are so many superior player cooked foods out there now adays it isn't funny - even simple smoked wood elf is better than this.

(sorry if I seem a bit pessimistic - got wasted several times last night trying to do the machette quest - which *is* definately worth doing)
Didn't work!
# Sep 17 2002 at 5:11 PM Rating: Decent
I did the fertilizer quest, took me five hours of foraging with a 150 forage to come up with all the items. Turned them in and got absolutely nothing in return. Is there a bug? She handed me back the bag, empty, and said she had no need for it. Cons indifferent.
RE: Didn't work!
# Nov 30 2002 at 7:08 PM Rating: Excellent
My guess is that you filled the bag and then DIDN'T combine. I know that if you give an NPC a contianer with items in it, they'll empty it & return it.

Tobala is also a druid trainer. She is located in the gardens outside the bard/shaman trainer building(#2 on EQ Atlas map).

It is possible to buy these items very rarely from NPC vendors in the area of the three zones if someone that did forage these items decides to sell them to a vendor. They are very inexpensive. The Netherbian Nitrate is sometimes available at the tent vendors in Dawnshroud Peaks, for example.

The bag is an 8 slot, LORE, NO DROP, Small capacity container. It works fine for small stuff, and is a good and free newbie bag.

My Forage skill is 215 with the Foraging Machete, so I foraged most of this myself. I received 5 Midnight Tangelos for the turn-in... Whoopee! It is not worth the time, unless you have foraged all of these items already.

fun quest
# Feb 14 2002 at 8:44 AM Rating: Decent
This was a fun quest to do. Not really uber loot or anything, but it helped me explore luclin a bit, which I had been putting off.

My forage skill is 200 already, so I dont really see how this is gonna help much, but I plan to experiment a bit next time I forage for drake eggs or yew leaves.
Twilight Orchid
# Jan 21 2002 at 2:08 AM Rating: Default
Can anyone tell me what the secret is, or where the special place is, to forage the Twilight Orchid?

I have been in Twilight Sea for the past 3 hours, trying to forage it. Have moved all over the zone....admittedly I missed a few areas due to the vast size of the zone, but I am just so disenheartened over this....

Had a 39 druid with a 140ish skill there, and I am 40 with a 200 forage.

Thank you for your time.

The first time it took me about 3 hours to forage an Orchid in Twilight Sea. The second time about an hour. I was at the entrance to Akheva Ruins for about 15 minutes and foraged 3.

The orchid was the toughest forage. Here's the difficulty I had, easiest to hardest, at 200 forage (44 ranger):

1.) Dawnflower Seeds - Dawnshroud - 5 minutes
2.) Red Sands Cactus - Scarlet Desert - 15 minutes
3.) Letalis Zenith Vine - Mons Letalis - 30 minutes
4.) Twilight Orchid - Twilight Sea - 45 minutes

I foraged 4 Twilight Orchids in The Umbral Planes using my bard. I was standing in the building area at the zone to M.E. Gave them to the cleric hotties in my guild. =)

I guess I got lucky, but I walked right into Twilight Sea from Katta Castellum, foraged once right at the zone there and got a Twilight Orchid on my first try. Been trying on the Red Sands Cactus for a couple hours now tho to no avail. You win some, you lose some...

Just foraged one in Twighlight on the island across the water from the zone to katta (which is why I'm here figuring out what it is for). My forage skill is 178, and I was hunting in the zone for the past 3 hours or so.

Not sure if I will complete the quest - not sure what 10% forage will do, other than improve my chances to get morning dew :-)

The Correct Information
# Jan 10 2002 at 8:44 PM Rating: Excellent
There are no varying items here, there are however 2 separate quests, the Fertilizer is one quest and yields the Midnight Tangelo, while the rare plants is another quest that yields the Foraging Machette.

All items needed for these quests are foraged.

For the Fertilizer Quest (reward = Midnight Tangelo)
1) Three piles of Owlbear Dung (Paludal Caverns)
2) Three Piles of Fungus Compost (Paludal Caverns)
3) Two Piles of Netherbian Nitrate (Netherbian Lair)

For the Rare Plant Quest (reward = Foraging Machette)
1) Twilight Orchid (Twilight Sea)
2) Dawnflower Seeds (Dawnshroud Peaks)
3) Red Sands Cactus (Scarlet Desert)
4) Letalis Zenith Vine (Mons Letalis)

Hope this helps

I foraged the Dung (looks like yellow frosting icon - no stack) and the compost (looks like the hay icon - also no stack) while in the newbie area of Shadeweaver's Thicket. I'm not sure if it matters, but I was exploring the caverns when I foraged these.

Can anyone that has the weapon from this quest confirm if they get more rare item forages from zones while using it and already at the cap of 200 skill in foraging? Thanks to any info posted =)
