Wolf Slayer  

Has anyone thought that the centerstone may not be a drop but is in the caves? Several items needed for things are laying in places and need to be picked up.

Ok - I've killed hundreds of rockhopper, and even Sambata tribals, The ancient 3 times, the elder 5 times, and I have yet to see this damn centerstone. I don't even care if I get it, I just want to know it's possible. More important, what do you get? EXP and coin? a new weapon with bane dmg? No idea here.

Try combining the Hunter's Pike and Gant's Remains and you certainly should get a great big "Does not combine" message. Gant's Remains, by themselves, are turned in for the Tribal Warsword, a decent 2hs. The remains drop off the Ages Old Rockhopper.

What drops the centerstone seems to still be in question, since there hasn't been a credible report on it yet, and no one has come forward with the completed second stage of the Wolf Slayer quest.

Killed three Elder hoppers this morning without seeing anything but hides and meat drop. The spawn time is about 13 minutes, there's a placeholder, and it skips spawns sometimes, so in an hour you get about 4 chances, and the Elder seems to spawn no more than one in four spawn cycles. Makes it prety tedious to camp to try and find out if the centerstone drops there ;(

That the quest is "rated" when as far as I can see, no one has completed it yet.
I've been killing Rockhoppers for several days, am being brought up on charges by the Luclin Society for the Preservation of Native Species because they fear I am personally going to be responsible for the extinction of "Dawnhoppers", and yet no sign of any centerstone.
Really cuirious to see what the result of this second stage will be.

i have the note cor carre.. and am waiting.. however the reason i decided to start this quest is i got a stone called the "mark of truth" off a prowling wolf.. im gonna try to combine it with the pike when caree spawns.. ugh anyways ill repost with findings

Well I got the first 2 to wolves to spawn after handing in the note and that was it , I dropped them both then could not find the next 2 wolves to kill. They were not on track either.

There are Rockhopper Caves reletively close to this camp and that is most likely where he speaking of... but beware at lvl 46 the Rockhoppers con blue and have MASSIVE HPs so if you go bring a good chanter and a cleric Or be high enough that the mobs are green. BTW... Rockhoppers, They see invis sometimes so take yer chances if you want..

Hmm I wonder if he might mean the netherbian lair?
They appear to be quite ... cave-y.

There also some caves in Mons Letalis (two zones past Sanctus Seru), but those hav rather nasty inhabitants :)

Any thoughts?

Kill the 4 wolves after giving the note to Carre. (It's actually only 2 wolves, each wolf has another wolf jump out when you kill it, so two at a time) Carre is at 1505.05, 1187.38, 97.41, btw...

The wolves will spawn right next to you. I could kill all 4 wolves as a level 52 Ranger...barely...using Ensnare and Panic Animal..

Anywho, kill the wolves, go turn in the furs to Carre, who gives you a note for Wils I *Think*...may be his bro...dont remember, Carre will tell you anyway....

So, bring the note and you get:


Hunters Pike
Magic Item, Lore, No Drop
Piercing. Atk delay: 30, DMG: 12
Ac: 5, Str +3, Cha +2
Weight: 8.5

It seems Carre will DESPAWN after you turn in the pelts. :( I don't have the exact loc at the moment, but he is in the wooded part of the zone to the right if you keep the Neth zone behind you. There are two tents with a campfire... that is where he spawns.

For those with track, he appeared red to a level 51.

After you hand in the note, two mobs will spawn -- a ravenous beast and an enraged beast. You get the other two animals to spawn by killing these two.

WARNING! After you kill one, another beast will spawn on the dead one's corpse. For example

an enraged beast died.
You gain experience!!
an enraged be's corpse falls lifelessly to the ground.
a rabid beast growls...

*AND*
You have slain a ravenous beast!
You gain experience!!
a ravenous be's corpse falls lifelessly to the ground.
a bloodthirsty wolf growls...

I am unsure of the level, but they were Aqua to me.

We've been looking for a few things now. One of them being a rare Centerstone. I've heard that it's somewhere within the caves nearby. We've been unable to find it. If you can combine the Centerstone along with the Wolf Slayer in this box and bring back what you have. I should be able to reward you once we are through here.'

The you are too scrawny text I have seen 3 times before, once from the Druid epic guy in Ak'Anon, once from the ??? epic guy in Felwithe and once from the withered treant (Druid Epic) in North Karana.
Could his be the beginning of the Beastlord Epic? They said it had been implemented, anyone 50+ tried speaking with him?
