I did this quest on 11/2/16, and there needs to be a correction made.

Hardam will not respond to "goods" in dialogue in order for a PC to receive a box, presumably since the Bazaar redesign, since Faeroi is no longer to be found in the Bazaar (at least that I can find).

ALL YOU HAVE TO SAY IS "I WILL TAKE THE GOODS" AND HE WILL GIVE YOU THE BOX. NOT FOR SURE IF HE WILL DO IT THE FIRST TIME YOU TALK TO HIM BUT ONLY TAKES ME ABOUT 2MINUTES TO DO THIS QUEST WITH SOW ON.

Barring a few vendors that are considered greedy, this is what I know of pricing:
The vendors in your hometown guildhouse will give you their best prices at a Charisma of 93.
With a faction of INDIFFERENT or better, a Charisma of 104 will get you the "best" prices.
With a faction of APPREHENSIVE, a Charisma of 132 will do the trick.
Note: large ticket items may see a difference of a few pp here and there with more charisma and the same faction, but when you're spending 150pp+ whats 2pp?

did the quest a bunch to go from dubious to apprehensive. then counted 20 more times to get to indiff from apprehensive. thats just turning in the box, not doing the beetle horn

I gave Faeroi a Rhino Beetle Horn all he gave me was a helmet to give back to Hardam. I turned it in and just got more faction and XP....

Has anybody done this quest recently? Hardam says, "... as soon as I can get some dern time to deliver my [payment] to the commissioner."
I've tried the different combinations off of payment but he just looks at me like I'm babbling... any clues? I've done the Traders of the Haven quest if that makes a difference...

Just say " What payment " and it will work just did this again last night.
He does not ask for a RHINO horn, he asks for a rhino BEETLE horn.
This is only part of the quest but this much is doable with the TotV (Traders of the Haven) quest:

Can this quest be done several times to raise the fraction several times? Or do i need to do the amulet quest to be able to trade in SH??
Yes, you can complete most any quest over and over. Unless the quest involves recieveing a no-drop item, you just wont get a duplicate item.
Actually that is incorrect information. You can do a No-Drop quest thousands of times. You cannot however do a quest that has a LORE item more then once

still wrong u can do either quest as much as u want u just wont get the lore item more then once it will tell u , cant have duplicat lore items but u will get the faction or u can destroy the lore item right before turn in .. u can even do the epic quests more then once u just wont get the reward again unless u destroy first one
That is mostly correct, however, you do not get the lore item message. You do the turn-in, get any faction and exp, and no lore item message. However, you also don't get a second item.

where do i get a rhino horn at?
Rhino BEETLE horns drop off beetles in shadeweaver's thicket or in the pit in Shar Vahl. My bard has (or had) a thousand of 'em

Another way to have at least better prices, if you're in shadow haven just for that reason, is to Sneak. It makes you indifferent, and I have found that the prices are just as good as amiable. Of course, this would take the fun out of doing quests so you are amiable (or whatever) or you don't have sneak. Just so you know if you are rogue, halfling, ranger, monk, or vah shir who has vendor troubles =)

from what I have gathered you dont get better prices from better faction....you get better prices from your lvl of charisma...or "CHA" for the ones who dont remember human speech .. lol
....oh...sorry ....and to add: sneaking only allows you to be able to get a response from NPCs that wouldn't normally deal with you BECAUSE of faction...I could be wrond but that has been my "EXP".

The best way is to deliver the food to the dwarves in Padual Caverns. Talk to the gnome standing in the corner by the rooster inn in the common section of Shadowhaven. He will give it to you if you have done the trade commisioner quest. It made me amible with all the shorties in Shadowhaven. Becareful in Paduala Caverns if everything doesnt con green to you Stuff will agro. And you will die. Good luck

What is the purpose of this? All it does is slows the game down even more and make people even more mad at them. I swear, they need to think about things before they put all this crap in. It's annoying, what company annoys their customers??? They're the only people who could get away with crap like this, and I have no idea why we let them. I mean, I paid my 30 bucks to get Luclin, and now I've gotta do faction work just to be able to use it??? COME ON!!!

I did this quest a number of times while I was doing Steaon's Deliveries. It only changed once. From apprehensive to indifferent. This quest is incredibly slow to raise. So if you are looking to raise your faction quickly, this is not a good quest.

faction pts for box to faeori is less than 10 on house of stout. also, rhino beetle horns are lore and also run less than 10pts for house of stout. so as it stands not a quick way to raise house of stout. i will investigate other avenues. p.s. can buy rhino beetle horn off merchants in shadeweavers thicket or just kill ck tk swarmers.

the rhino BEETLE horn drop from the Chk Thk Swarmer in shadoweavers thicket , its a lvl 4-5 mob and the quest does not grant you many exp for lvl upper than 5 so its better to do many time the amulet of haven quest who is more easier and give really better faction hit

Well it might be easier to do the commissioners quest...but the two quests give different faction.
I got my faction up to considers me kindly and Hardem still glowers at me dubiously. So apparently there is something else that this quest gives you faction wise that the other doesn't.

you will be allied with traders of haven normally one or two quest repeats before you are apprehensive to the house of stout, fordel, and midst.

we druid:

I've combed most of city and I don't see anything remotely resembling a "short and stout section" of the town.

The entrance to the Short and Stout Quarter is at location 47, 1571. It's a passage or tunnel carved into the rock. Looks rather like it might lead to a zone line, but it doesn't (at least not immediately). It's near the transporter to Shadow Haven (mini-wizard spires above a large pool). If you hail the guards there, they will mention that the passage leads to the Short and Stout Quarter. It you are coming from the Bazarr, it's to the southwest.

Can't say for sure, but I have seen quite a few dwarfs on the side of town near the echo Caverns. Look there.
