The most effective way of camping this guy in HH is to wait until you get one of those annoying <system will shutdown in 15 minutes> messages. I run to HH and camp out right there. After the server comes back online (I was the 3rd operson back the time I got the book) he is right there waiting to be killed.
I got mine at lvl 22, he was easy to kill, with DOTs and a few blasts.

You really dont have to worry about the faction from Dyylin, just get the page from Moodoro first. Also even if Moodoro wont talk to you, you can still just hand him 2gp and get the book. Just give him 4gp untill you get a Jester card, then hand him back the card to get the page, he doesnt have to talk to you.

BOO YA i did the quest in 20 minutes cause everyone in prexus is either to stupid to realize there ARE smugglers in HH or are so afraid of the faction hits that they will shave their dog so it looks good. no smugglers joined the fight, before i killed him they were all amiable to me... they still are...

Moodooru Hails from Erudin, go there and buy a Innoruks Kiss of Death (a drink), from the tavern to the left of the Toxxulia exit. Take this to a chock with the last name of Highbrow in the library. She gives you An "Eruds Tonic", which is to be given to Moodooru. The only thing I'm sure of factionwise is giving the Kiss of Death bestowng + EruditeCitizen...Dunno if it'll affect Moo's faction or not but try it if you're desperate. He conned dubious to me and said "Is that your breath or did something die in here"(I plan on X'ing him for that after I have the book)
Took me about 80gp to get the jester card. Giving him 2gp will get you the Combine container. Cant say much about Starshine other than he looks just like a Qeynos guard and that he supposedly spawns in the large open area That has the pottery wheel in it.

i was "dubious" to him and luckly (thanks to this rockin' site) i knew exactly what to say, dont hail him, just say the things like "what testament of vanear" and give him gold, he prolly wont attack you. other than that i cant help.

I did this quest a couple of weeks ago with my lvl 19 Druid. Being the Druid that I am I kited Dyllin, and amazingly enough none of the smugglers joined in. I don't know what their help radius is, but it didn't seem to be too high.
Now, When I headed to Queynos to get the book and other page, I conned the guards at the gate. Dubious, not great, but I ran on in. Got to Moodoro and Bam I was looking at my corpse. By killing Dyllin I had become KOS to CORRUPT Queynos Guards. Unfortunately there's a corrupt guard that stands in a corner near Moodoro when he's outside near the water. Quick fix: Superior Camo. You can stay in camo and trade. If your faction with the good part of Queynos is bad, head to the blackburrow entrance and zap gnolls. At 19 I could take them down with one Careless Lightning spell. Doesn't take long to kill enough to get your faction up.
BTW, I camped the full 7.5 gour spawn, and still think the quest was worth it

Look easy as this, find a time when hes gonna spawn and no one is gonne b there, kill him and finish it off. ( how i did it) i wsa a lvl 9 druid i found a time at 4 in the morning, i actually have 2 eq acccounts, ( well ones my dads) i camped my dads lvl 23 wiz at dyllins place to guard the place and ward off others, i knew when he was gonna pop, he popped, i rooted him ( with teh wiz) and force shocked him 3 time and eh was dead...EAsy then i brought in druid , joined group and looted teh crap

I have not done this quest yet but a thought get the book and page from Quenos before going to HH and camping D. This way you don't worry about the faction hit imediately. I am going to try this quest and will state whether this works or not if it has not been posted by then.

I think the rating that you give this quest is entirely dependent upon how long you have to wait for Dyllin. In a refreshing turn of events for me, I had to wait only some 30 minutes for him to show up...it actually took me longer to get the Jester than my wait on D.
Also, let me pose a question to all of you. Do you feel that it helps or hurts that the Testament is No Drop? I for one think it helps, because could you imagine the decrease in opportunity to camp D if all the farmers could come in to get the item to sell? Do you think that making more items thus would help reduce the camping/farming?

Absolutely. I am a firm believer in NO DROP items, especially if they're good ones, for this very reason. How many people have had to wait forever for a group in LGuk, for example, because all the high-level farmers were in there? :-(

everything is no drop, so you have to do it all on yer 17 gnome cleric, which, barring any smugglers joining in, you should be able to do if you fight well. i was 13 and had a 16 SK help me, and we got it.....i just happened to wander by and see him up with no one there, offered 20pp to anyone who would help. though i did have to pay 20pp to modoro for the jester card (or in my case, the cinder hornet pollen)....ah well, it was well worth it. 10wis! (and 10 mana, heh)

Couple of questions,#1 could a 17 gnome cleric take the guy in high pass?#2 Is the page that Moodoro gives you able to be traded. Have no idead how to get to Queynos from high pass and was starting a human character in Queynos to gt the page to Rumpy, would this work? Really need to know these, plz tell if you can.

Servers went down for an emergency patch and I was camped out at Dyllin's spawn spot. Servers came up 30 minutes earlier than planned and I was one of the first 100 to get onto the server. My heart raced when I got in and he was there with no one around. I quickly harmonied nearby smugglers and began with a Careless lightning. I tried to snare him as I heard he will run, but since he was blue to me at level 20, he stayed put. I meleed and CL'ed him with one smuggler jumping in at the end. I was able to loot and run around the corner and jump off the cliff (for only 55 dmg) and zoned to High Keep with around 2 bubbles of health. Counting time to travel to Qeynos, I probably spent no more than 2 and a half hours on this whole quest.
I went to Qeynos after killing Dyllin and was not KOS at the Crow bar or by any guards I ran into. I was dubious to apprehensive only. However, maybe I got lucky and no Corrupt Guards were around.

im think ing of doing this quest but im not too shure about the crows bar. I am a druid, and at lvl 10 i went into that bar and tried to talk and buy from its occupants. they did think to fondly of me and im wondering if they'll be KOS to me if i got back, and if i can still get the cards and book.

Ok here is how I did this quest : around 12:30 at night the camp finally opened up, I settled down and started to camp. Over the course of this time a lvl 50 pally, a 47 cleric, and 4-5 20ish druids came by looking to camp him, Most just wished me luck and left but some I had to fend off. I actually enjoyed these people showing up because if they didnt I would have gone nuts, I sat there through the ENTIRE night around 7ish he spawned, A personwho came in about an hour earlier to get on the camp list helped me harmony all the smugglars so I could conserve mana, The dylinn starshine guy conned risky blue to my lvl 19 druid, I dropped him easy. I opened up with root which didnt connect he ran over and nailed me for 32, I got off a 2nd root which stuck through 2 Careless lightnings I just meleeed him the rest of the way with SLS up with a careless lightning inbetween rounds, when he fell I was OOM and had only lost 1 bubble of health. After getting page 30 I ran over to qeynos , and found MOONDUU near the Crows bar, I payed him 2gp and got an empty testement and gave him around 6pp in gold until I got the JESTER card. Return the card for page 34, put both pages in the book combine and Voila! Testement, After killing dylinn the guards conned apprehensive and the luteniants dubious, though not kos. Boring camp but easy quest if you have the time for a GREAT Item, This item is almost dragon drop quality =)...we not really but after camping him 8 hours you like to feel its worth it =)

If you have trouble killing Dyllin and can gate, set your gate point to the area just by the zone to High Keep. Have Dyllin attack you, then gate. He will follow you. When he shows up, zone to get off his angry list, then zone back. He will be standing there waiting for you. Easy kill then with no smugglers.

It took me 6 hours of camping Dyllin. I had to shoo away 3 people. Not bad considering he is quite camped most of the time. During that time, I got my divination skill up since I don't use it often but will need it later.

I camped him and he was ksed, if you do chose to camp him beware of ksing, as I have had it happen to me and hear it is common at his spawn. It is wise to always have a see invs on too. Good luck and don't let those kser's get him.

This is a good quest if you have the time. I pressumed that Dyllin was killed shorty after the reset (9'oclock think) so I timed my tent pitching about two hour after that, and fired up the DVD player. after two and a half movies he poped. my 14th shaman wasnt about to kill Dyllin on his own. (Which I was after out camping four compediters.)I was also nervous about the sugglers walking about. So I offered 5pp a piece to anyone and everyone who would kill him for me. Three mericenarys showed up lvls 18-21. During the fight the smugglers left us alone, that was untill the end. For some reason they attacked the 21st cleric when he healed me. Everyone lived...er most everyone Dyllin went dowm hard. I got my book. Then I went to bed at 6'oclock in the morning unable to sleep due to either being excited to have such a fine book, or due to all the coffee that I drank.

After checking every day on his spawn times I finally found an uncamped one. But no one to help me, so I grabbed a nearby lvl 20 enchanter. First round, not so good...we took 'em down to a hair and both died. Second round it was just me, died again. Third round I was finally able to slay 'em and get the page and Bayle List III. I'm only lvl 14 so it was quite a rush :)

I loved this quest even though it took 4 and 1/2 hours for the guy to spawn he coned black to me at lvl 16 and did not get any help from smugglers, despite the fact they walked by many times in fight. Anyway it was fun but why turn it back in it is good to have.

Well i got the testament by givin cash to Modroo then i got the jester the first time i played with him, then i had to start a 3 hours camp. The problem in Morrell Thule server is that this place is not camped constenly so you never know when was the last spawn but now i m master in sense heading and forage :-)))) .Last thing i didn t see that pollen bug...

Got testament by giving Modroo cash (he is in the Crows pub in Queynos-beware he will move around). The gave him 4gp a popuntil I got JESTER card. Gave him JESTER card back and got first page. Camped the guy in HH for about 4 hours (COnned green to me at 27 Shaman), beat him down pretty quick.

You can still combine the pollen with Dylan's page and get Testament. Trust me I did it. Be careful though you CAN eat the pollen

Freaky, i just killed em today, was telling my friends was gonna camp em tomorrow or saturday so i wouldnt be available, an went to highkeep an took my usual short cut ( through smuggler camp, then fall out ) an low and behold there he was all shiny an stuff, being at 20 mana i sat and meddin, thankfully the greatest enchantress ever, Sellie, had breezed me, so while im busy meddin, my heart pounding cause i KNOW someone is gonna KS him, i get up, boom, 3 nukes an hes MINE!!! cant believe it. anyways, guess ill have to wait for the quest to be fixed.
