High Guard Battlestaff  

QUEST SOLVED SORTA


I have been working on this quest for 7 days now. after many conversation with GM i was informed that that HIgh guard battle staff from this quest is the exact same one from the sentinals etc in and around erudin. I killed one of them and made a new cleric of quellious and turned in the Battle staff.

I recieve a worn great staff 14 copper and 9 silver some xp 3 blue for level 1 toon.

******THIS IS OBVIOUSLY WRONG*** it is the exact same reward as doing the peacekeeper staff quest this quest is supposed to be a level 25 quest.

Information i have gathered so far:

Gm Confirmed Lady Mccabe has nothing to do with the quest as it stands now and just supposed to say her line. we already know.

Brollus Hooost in kithicore admits to be hired to steall a battle staff , ask him about tallus holton and he will say "Tallus Holton was my partner on my last mission. He is actually a wizard, but instead of yarning for knowledge, he yearns for money. He likes to hang around the karana banits. They like him, he can ignite a campfire in a snap.

Got Battle staff from one of erudin guards <they are all high guard> tried to give to Carson Mccabe , Lady Mccabe, and m mistress anna they all gave it back with word " i have no need for this solkin, you can have it back'

Brollus hoost does the same give back the battle staff looted of a guard.

We are missing one of our staffs and believe this person has it. Go to Highpass Hold and find this person. Return the High Guard battle staff to me!'

Thanks to one of their latest patches you can no longer hand in the H.K. 401 to the banker, hopefully they'll patch that before long.

To the person who found the Strongbox in OOT.

That box is used in the Falchion of the Koada'Vie quest in Felwith. Also required is a Blue Orc Head and Dvinn's Black Heart, both found in Crushbone. The Falchion is HIE PAL only.

There is a guard located in high keep who, if hailed, asks if you are the bounty hunter he is expecting. Considering that the text above says that Someone in the keep is hiring mercenaries, and that this person has the staff, it seems possible to me that your missing piece is on him, even though he mentions a bounty hunter, rather than amercenary. If I recall correctly, he was named captain boshenko, and I found him by entering the keep, going through the courtyard, and into the main building. As soon as you go in, go up the side stairs right inside the keep, the ones to the right. My guess is that you kill him for the third piece. BTW, a post in the strategy discussions said if you hail and tell him you are the bounty hunter, he will call the guards and they will kill you. This was not my experience. He basically told me I was a lightweight who couldn't be the mercenary, (don't remember wording) and ignored me. I was about lvl 18 at the time. He was alone on the balcony when I found him. Hope this helps. As I play a human cleric, and don't want to spend weeks working on erudin factions, I don't plan to try it myself. Good luck, let me know if I was right.

I did this quest, successfully about two years ago...

Unfortunately, I don't remember all the details, but I'll post what I can and hope that it helps you out in some way.

There is indeed, a third piece of the staff (Or it may be like the Befallen quest where the actual third piece is the container that you combine them in...)

Asking around about the staff upstairs will result in a few minor quests from one of the women NPCs, one of which is a triggered NPC in one of the inns in the pass. Once you do that, you'll get information about who's giving away the staff. One of the guards in the outside section of the keep if I remember correctly.

I'm pretty sure this quest can still be done, and I know I posted about it on EverLore a long, long time ago, but who knows. I'll continue to see if talking to some of these people doesn't yield more information from my defective memory...

By the way, the stats on the staff resulting from this quest ARE different than the ERU PAL/CLR +10 charisma, however I do know that it's 2 handed, can be used by a human enchanter, and still sucks...I never turned it into the guy in the Erudin cleric's guild because I didn't know he talked about it, so maybe that piece is worth it.

The Battle Staff is really useless for the majority of people. It is Eudite only. PAL/Clr only.
You dont need to do the quest to get one, my half elf warrior had one, just kill any of the Sentinels in Erudin that carry a staff.

I figured there was a quest around these items, as they were lore no drop and didn't seem to have any direct stat bonuses. Thanks to the every handy site on Everquest that allakhazam puts up, I have been able to see what the quest is!

I was a mere 22nd level Barbarian warrior - very much with average to below average equipment when Tallus made the fatal error of throwing himself on my sword blade. It was rough and the dogs that came along as I was healing up were not pleasant (I survived the end of the whole battle with a mere 37 hitpoints). Tallus dropped the staff segment and the HK401 key. Going to try and solve this quest soon!

Hmm, if the quest is broken, how could anyone have completed it? And why do you insist there must be a box if the person who gives the quest never mentions one? Might try just giving the pieces of the staff to her..

The only evidence I have ever seen that there is "supposed to" be a box is in this description of the quest (and its various repostings on the web). Nothing Lumi says indicates that you are supposed to get a box. I think the key to this quest lies in finding out who hired Tallus and his partner Brollus Hoost who is sometimes in the Inn in Kithcor.

I took out this guy as a 21st level shaman, took most of my hits, but never in doubt. A brigand helped him, but the bandits did not.

As to Erudite faction, it's a pain in the neck to raise. Killing the diseased shark in the harbor and Elial Brook at the little dock that leads to Kerra both do it, but not quickly. Havn't tried, but bet that the Paniel Emmisary in Toxx would help alot.

Erm, wood elf ranger :) Fought Tallus Holton after he jumped me for no reason. Well . . . maybe I killed a couple bandits who wandered too far away and MAYBE I got too close to the camp . . . anyway, shoot an arrow or something only at him and he comes running with spells ready.
I got both sections of the staff and now need to finish the quest. Question is: HOW? How do I get faction with the Erudites, how do I get the box, how do I use these two staff segments?

I can't find the box either

Im a level 15 druid. When i was grouped with a level 15 enchanter, I harmonied everyone, then the enchanter charmed Tallus (Very Fun). Tallus was able to take the whole camp, and when he was done he was low enough on HP that a couple nukes brought him down.
