This is the fourth Qeynos badge quest. You must do the other three first.

You say, 'Hail, Vegalys Keldrane'

Vegalys Keldrane says 'Greetings to you, citizen. By order of the Council of Qeynos I have been given the duty of apprehending the individuals [responsible] for unleashing this terrible plague upon the people and the lands of Antonius Bayle. The more I look into this matter, the more I come to find that this will be no easy task.

You say, 'i wish to advance further'

Vegalys Keldrane says 'Interested in helping us further? We continue to gather valuable information. We still require [interrogators] that are able to pry the information we require out those less then willing to talk. Also, Velarte Selire at the Temple of Life is looking for help with his [research] so you may wish to talk with him. Lastly, we now have information we believe may lead us to the [individual that unleashed this plague] in the first place.

You say, 'what individual that unleashed this plague'

Vegalys Keldrane says 'The plague was unleashed by a woman named Azibelle Spavin. She was the bodyguard and some say concubine of Mordavin Telase. He was put to death for his long list of crimes against Qeynos which included murder, treason and attempted genocide. The plague is apparently her revenge. I sent one of my investigators and one of the best guardsmen we have to try and find her and bring her to justice. They are [still missing].

You say, 'still missing'

Vegalys Keldrane says 'Kane recommended Guard Helminth personally as one of his best. They must have run into serious trouble. These were two of Qeynos' finest. I am only willing to send those with both strength and intelligence down there to complete this mission and find our people's whereabouts. Give me your Researcher's Badge should you wish to accept this mission.

Hand in your Research's Badge at this point.

Vegalys Keldrane says 'Here is my personal seal. Go to the sewers and locate my investigator and show him this seal if he yet lives. Find out what happened to he and guard Helminth. Then if at all possible, complete this operation by finding Azibelle Spavin and execute her. Bring me her head and return me my seal and you shall be rewarded.

You receive Seal of Vegalys.

Zone into Qeynos Aquaducts. an investigator was at +951,+30 laying upon the ground.

You say, 'Hail, an investigator'

an investigator coughs and struggles to move. 'There were. . . too many . . . too strong.'

Give the investigator the Seal of Vegalys.

an investigator says 'Vegalys sent you. I'm done for. Guard Helminth found a false wall. We stepped through it. We were ambushed. I didn't see where Helminth went. He disappeared. I knew we were overwhelmed. I ran and feigned death but I knew [it was too late].

You say, 'it was too late'

investigator gasps clutching a wound and says, 'Their magic was too powerful. Necromancers. Undead. Cursed knights of an unholy god. They left when they thought I was dead. But even now their curses sap the last of my life. I made it as far as I could. If Helminth lives, tell him [I am dead]. Please complete the mission. Bring this Azibelle to justice. Avenge me.'

Guard Helminth then spawns at +376,-49. This is just before the 4 spectres outside of the necromancer guild.

You say, 'Hail, Guard Helminth'

Guard Helminth says 'Who are you and what are you doing here? This place is not safe. You are to leave here immediately! You do not belong here!

You say, 'vegalys sent me'

I forgot to try the message from the investigator for Guard Helminth ("I am dead"). So I am not sure what response I would have received with that.

Guard Helminth says 'So Vegalys sent you to check on our progress then? I don't believe you. Prove it!

Give Guard Helminth Vegalys seal. You get the seal back and he responds with:

Guard Helminth says 'Well, well! Vegalys did send you after all. Are you [ready to complete the mission]? I am certain I know where Azibelle is hiding.

You say, 'I am ready to complete the mission'

At this point, Guard Helminth respawns as Corrupt Guard Helminth. Also directly behind him a necromancer spawned. Both agro. A few seconds later a rotting sentry spawned next to me. All three hit in the 70-80's range. Rotting sentry did harm touch me for 351 points of damage. These guys wern't too bad to take down with a 55th mage and 52nd druid. Corrupt Guard Helminth was blue at 52nd but the other two were green.

Once Corrupt Guard Helminth was killed, Azibelle Spavin was found on track.

Azibelle Spavin was found at +439,-264 which is just past the 4 spectres that are outside the necromancer guild. She did not respond to hails. Proceeded to attack her (did find that I could pull her past the spectres without the spectres agroing). She is a shadowknight and was blue to 55th and 52nd.

Loot the Head of Azibelle Spavin.

Return to Vegalys Keldrane and turn in Seal of Vegalys and Head of Azibelle Spavin.

Vegalys Keldrane says 'Good work Meistoff ! So Guard Helminth was corrupt? So crafty are these black hearted souls that they can fool even the righteous Kane Bayle himself! I'm sure he will be saddened to hear of this. I too am saddenned by the loss of one of my best investigators. At least we've served justice this day by sending Azibelle Spavin to her dark master. May she rot with her god. Take this Badge of Honor and wear it with pride and distinction.

Immediately after Guard Helminth responds to your hail, you are to say the key phrase "I am dead" from the investigator. This does not work, but here is what does:

You say, 'An investigator told me to tell you, "I am dead."'

Guard Helminth says 'So he did not make it, that is a shame. I managed to defeat all of the enemies. It was difficult but they were no match for one of my skill. Did Vegalys send you?'

You say, 'Vegalys sent me.'

((The rest is correct that I noticed.))

A note on Azibelle: As a well equipped (not twinked, just well equipped) 55 ranger, with KEI, Valor, 7, and SD on, I beat her with 10% of my hitpoints left. 2 Sepsis rats and her pet added, but they didn't do any damage really (I regen faster than those three combined hurt me) so all my loss was against her herself. She's tough.

The quest, as of this date, is currently bugged. Following the quest text, the investigator ate my vegalys seal and gave nothing in return and did not spawn the guard near necro/sk area .... petitioned and got an answer that there was nothing that could be done. Thanks, SOE.

Azibelle is lvl 45.

To get to the investigator you have to go thru the tunnels from North Qeynos by the newbie area. (you will need an EB item, or EB spell)
Zone back out after hailing him and doing what you have to do to get the Guard to spawn.
Go to South Qeynos, under the arena, and go thru the door on the left (3doors next to each other) - at dead end there is a secret wall - this will lead to the Aquaducts. Follow the hallway past the specs (see invis) and you will eventually lead up to the Guard. Do your thing there. Then go back the way you came, to the zone, and Azibelle will be at the specs. Instant agro - and because of my druid's level, I agrod the rats there too.

Quite simple for 65 mage pet to solo everything :)

BTW, mage couldn't find his way to the guard from the investigator without agro'ing the rogue guild (bad mage)

HINT: Have mage with you that can CoH. He sits where guard is supposed to spawn, while you hail the investigator....CoH when ready to guard.

Nice quest, I am having fun with it :)
Stressful Soloable

I'm a 54 BST with Dubious faction to the baddies in this one. Probably from killing nobles alot in HHK. So when the corrupt guard necro and the rest ended up popping they didn't aggro me. I was able to solo all of them barely lol. Then I moved on to the SK she's about 48-51 Azibelle Spavin. I got on the other side of her closer to the side where I could run for the zone if needed. I soloed her and her pet with a bit of mana to spare but it was stressful as I was told my buddy had 2 people with him and didn't make it. She'll harmtouch ur pet or whoever right off for about 400-500 which worried me. But after that it's smooth sailing just slow her or what have u and take her down.
Not Hard

Was really simple for me, 58 Druid. Once Corrupt Guard Helminth spawned along with his lackeys, just rooted them all and dotted them with WD and Breath of Ro. After they were down, medded up and proceeded to root/snare Azibelle Spavin, dotted her up and nuked and voila, quest done.

I just completed this quest twice (once for my wife, and a second time for my character). The two of us (my level 52 paladin and my wife's level 52 cleric) were able to do this quest VERY easily, partly due to the way we did it. Here's my own little walkthrough for the kills in the Catacombs.

After giving the Seal of Vegalys to the investigator, we buffed up and went down to where "Guard Helminth" spawns. There's a male human shadowknight named "Argyn Shieldstan" that wanders through that area. We waited for him to come by, then killed him (conned green and was VERY easy to kill) so that he wouldn't be an issue during the main fights. He always drops a regular two-handed sword, by the way, which sells for around 20pp to a merchant, so be sure to loot that sucker :).

After Argyn was dead, I followed Guard Helminth's conversation. Before I said "I am ready to complete the mission", I turned my back to him. Immediately after hitting ENTER to say the trigger phrase, I ran to the end of the hall and turned the corner to the right, and ran down to the end there, too. The result of doing that was that the only thing to aggro on me was the "A Rotting Sentry" (at level 52, he conned light blue once and the other time we did him, green). I had my jboots effect on at the time, so that may have helped, but I couldn't say for sure. He harm touches for somewhere in the 300's. We killed the rotting sentry with ease (he DOES run, by the way, when he hits 18% health).

Next, I walked back around the corner and looked down at "Corrupt Guard Helminth", who immediately aggroed on me. I ran him back down to where we'd fought the rotting sentry, and we killed him. He conned dark blue but hit in the low-80's max. He also runs at 18% health.

Now I ran down around the corner yet again and looked down to where the "a necromancer" was standing. He was far enough away that he didn't aggro immediately. He conned light blue one time and the other time he was green. At any rate, I targeted him and rooted him, then ran back to the spot where we'd fought the rotting sentry. The pet came all alone, so we killed it (it conned green both times), then waited for the root on the necro to break. Once the root broke, the necro came to us and we killed him with ease. He currently seems to always drop a Damask Robe, by the way, and not the Velvet-Trimmed Satin Robe that Illia's Bestiary lists.

Now I ran down toward where "Azibelle Spavin" spawns. Just after the hallway opens out a little bit (just a little before the spectres), on the left side of the hallway was "sepsis rat" and on the right was "a sepsis rat". Between both of the times we did the quest, I saw each con light blue once and each con green once. I managed to single pull each one and run it back down to that same spot where we'd killed everything else. They hit for the high-60's max, and dropped standard rat loot (whiskers, teeth, etc.) and as much as 2pp and some change.

After that, I ran down and targeted "Azibelle Spavin" from a distance, avoiding aggroing her or the spectres. She conned dark blue both times. I rooted her and ran back to our same kill station. Her pet followed me back and we killed it all alone (it conned green, as you might expect). We waited for the root on Azibelle to break, and when it finally did and she ran to us, we fought her. She hit for a max of something like 117, harm-touched for 551, and seemed to parry and dodge alot. We killed her pretty easily, regardless. She didn't run at all. Besides her head, she once dropped a fine steel short sword and a word (I can't remember which one).

All in all, a pretty easy quest if you are careful. Heck, it wouldn't probably be pretty easy even if you weren't careful ;).

My gear helped, although I can certainly think of other ways to do it. Basically, need an eye of zomm (SS Helmet) and a decent heal (SS Breastplate).

Songs: Dreams of Ayonae (mez), Chant of Flame (pulls/extra damage), Warsong of Vah Shir and Jonathans Inspiration (melee hastes), Largo's Binding (snare/slow), Kelin's Lament (Lull), Solon's Bravure (charm), and Kazumi's Preservation (Divine Aura just in case).

Triggered the investigator, and then headed down towards Helminth. Decided to use the room at loc +275, +160 for my fights. Killed the green wanderer in Helminth's hall (he's KOS to me anyway). Turned in seal, turned away from Helminth facing the hall to my fight room, said "I am ready to complete the mission" and high-tailed it back to my fight room.

Helminth and the Necro spawned behind me but did not aggro. The rotting sentry popped in front of me and followed to my room. Melee'd him to death and clicked the BP until FOH again. Clicked an eye and used it to lull the Necro and Pet. Pulled Helminth to my room and melee'd him to death. (Easy kill. Green to 60, definately not level 50) Clicky-healed again and pulled the necro with charm. Let him help kill the pet, then finished him myself with melee. Click-heal back to FOH.

Went back to Helminths hall, clicked an eye, and lulled the two rats. The green wanderer respawned about that time and had to be put down again. Single pulled the lulled rats to the hall and cleared them out of my way. Moved into the big room carefully, clicked another eye, lulled the 4 specters, and targetted Azibelle. Chanted at her and ran back to my fight room one more time.

When she caught up with me, she HT'ed me and hit a few times before I got both her and her pet mezzed. I was down to 50% health or so, so carefully twisted 2 mezzes and one BP click until back to FOH. Then charmed Azibelle and let her help kill the pet with me. Broke charm and fought her to about half health for each of us. Mezzed her, and twisted 2 BP clicks with mezz back to FOH. Continued the fight and took her out.

All in all it was a neat fight. First time I've really tried a "melee and mezz-heal" tactic, and it worked like a charm! (no pun intended)

that logically, since the plague on the Karanas has been lifted, there would be no need to investigate it, and thus this quest would be removed from the game.

The Qeynos Badge series quests are a prime example of what people want in a quest, nearly instant gratification and a good storyline that actually makes a shred of sense...

Anyway, I recieved the Badge of Honor tonight with the help of my duo partner for life, Killians the 55 beastlord. Nothing about the entire encounter was difficult except maybe finding the damn place having never been in the Qeynos Aquaducts before.

If only they'd drag it out some more and come up with some viable excuse to create a 6th quest...:D
51 wizard, 52 enchanter, 54 druid...

Okay, the group mentioned above was able to do this quest twice. The first time, we had a little trouble on Azibelle, but the second time went much more smoothly thanks to the following strategy.

Myself, the druid, triggered the spawn to Guard Helminth while looking away from him, then ran down the corner, aggroed the Rotting Sentry alone, and pulled him north to a small, octagon-shaped chamber (take the first right after the corner and go straight) to avoid a clusterf**k situation. After killing him we proceeded to do the other two in the same manner. I aggroed the necromancer by casting Banish Summoned on his pet, which managed to pull the pet before the necromancer for an easier kill.

Once we reached the large room linking to the spectre hallway, we killed one of the sepsis rats while I charmed the other and buffed it with Savage Spirit. The wizard used Eye of Zomm to target Azibelle's pet, which I easily killed with one Banish Summoned. This is probably the best method to use for pulling her that I could find, as it saves you the trouble of taking extra damage and lessens the number of targets you have to be concerned with. Anyway, we rooted and snared Azibelle, and basically proceeded to nuke her while our pets did most of the tanking (the sepsis rat probably did a lot of damage with Savage Spirit as well). She fell easily.

The enchanter and myself now have our badges, and will be attempting our fifth soon enough... man, Barducks is gonna get it. Sometime soon. I think.

i managed to finish this quest (from zilch up through the badge of honor) solo in 6 hours. the only help i had was a kind ranger in WK helped me find Oobnopterbevny for the 3rd badge. i'm a lvl 57 human monk modestly well equipped (check out my magelo link, i check out yours).

1. the first badge is totally simple; however, i couldnt get the investigator to follow me with '/pet follow me' or anything else i tried. if you cant get him to follow you, you can keep running back to him and say 'summon a guard' or the appropriate line once you've caught the bad guy and everything will work fine.

2. as mentioned by others, the spoken dialogues come out oh so slowly, dont let the long pauses make you think you have messed something up, it just goes slowly like that for whatever reason. when i pulled Morley and Markus from the druid rings, even though i am lv 57 and pulled from a fair distance, everything agroed. Markus (SK) harm touched me for 271, Morley (necro) kept trying to dot me, and the whole gang went down summarily, taking about 25% of my total health. i did not use mend. these mobs all seemed to be below 30th lvl, so i think anyone 50 or higher could solo this part easily.

3. finding Oobnopterbevny was a problem without tracking, as she roams, and WK is big. even with a ranger kind enough to hunt her down for me, it took us about 10 minutes running around the western portion of the zone to get even within ranger tracking range of this necro NPC. the ranger was lvl 30, so she bowed out once we found Oobnopterbevny, who conned light blue to me. being a lvl 40ish necro NPC, Oobnopterbevny wasnt too tough, she mainly cast easily resisted spells (root, shock of poison). i ended up at 60% health after using mend; most of my health loss was due to her banshee aura damage shield, some due to her skeleton pet which i ignored. as for the rat game, you have 6 game hours (15 RL minutes) to figure out the puzzle, which changes every time the quest is done. my advice is to write down a diagram and figure out how you will cure all the diseased rats, you have plenty of time to plan ahead before you drop any jars. make sure each time that you are trading a live jar, not empty; also make sure that you are trading with the right NPC (e.g. Tile BC) before you click give, targetting is a bit spotty.

4. i had never been in the aqueducts before, so before initiating any part of the quest i roamed around a bit and made sure i could find my way from the investigator to the Temple of Bertoxx area easily. when i was ready, i buffed myself with Shield of the Eighth, Spirit of Ox, Major Shielding, and Captain Nalot's Quickening (Quickening in case Azibelle or the rotting sentry cast Despair on me in which case i could not activate epic). i showed the seal to the investigator and made my way to Guard Helminth...then as i said the line to despawn him, i inched back a bit and prepared to dart around the corner. once the corrupt version agroed me, i scooted backwards and around the corner, leaving the newly spawned necro unagroed for the moment. rotting sentry harm touched for 351, i wiped out corrupt guard (light blue) and then sentry (green). bandaged up a bit and then took out the necro (green, and easiest of the three by far, but if you leave him alone at first like i did he has a chance to cast a pet and Banshee Aura). then i killed the sepsis rats which were very easy. i bandaged to full, waited for mend to pop back in, and pulled Azibelle. i pulled her with 100 range shuriken and got her single. she harm touched for 551, and her max hit was 117. she seemed fairly tough, i would guess she is lvl 50. i popped innerflame discipline midway into this encounter, but i still found the contest to be a tossup. when we were both 40% health i feigned her off, waited for her to return to spawn point, and started bandaging. by the time my mend was usable again and i was full health, she was back up to 80%; i think the necros in the guild behind her were healing her. regardless, i pulled her again, knowing her harm touch was spent. i killed her with 40% health remaining, and feigned off her pet (NPC pets poof if you FD once you have killed their master and no one else has agro on it). for loot she had a few pp, the head needed for quest, and a sword: no drop 2hs 17/40 SK/all effect: heat blood; this sword processed quite a bit for her during the fight, even though i dont think she cast a single spell herself. i let the sword rot since i was alone in the zone and it was no drop.

so in summary, i would suggest getting help for at least the final encounter of the quest, unless you are lvl 60 or higher. my initial brawl with Azibelle was a toss-up, and had i not been a monk and been patient, i may well have died. on the upside, if you do make a mistep in the aqueduct portion of the 4th quest, you can try again as many times as you like; Vegalys's seal is handed back each time you show it to an NPC.

all in all, a fun quest and a very useful item for any class. many of the posts on this website helped me a great deal in knowing what to expect, and much of what i have mentioned is merely confirming earlier posts.

Great Post ! Lots of good Information and tips. Kids read up. Nothing pisses me off more then some slacker guildmate or that stoner 'friend of a friend' named Bongbuds Spoodini asking for help on a quest. They are always Clueless and totally unprepaired. You know the type " Hey anyone have any Food and water?" or "How do I get to Stoneburnt?" I just love killing these kind of Tards that infest Rallos Zek.Well I loved this post so much Im going to send them here to see Laurapalmer.

NICELY DONE !

I did this as a level 56 mage solo, after receiving a free area-effect Virtue buff (1.5k hp) in the Nexus. (Thought that this would be a good time).

Used a single buffed & armed & (self-) hasted level 51 earth pet throughout.

Toughest part was the corrupt guard, because wasn't expecting the 3 simultaneous jumps (guard, necro, and sentry). Perhaps didn't handle them optimally (let pet root one by one) -- was at 23% health at end; would have been dead without Virtue.

Got jumped by 2 spectres and 2 rats at the next part. This went very well - pet pretty much handled them himself; I tanked & nuked one spectre. Used pet root to good effect.

Azibelle was clear then (except for pet). Came running when I was close enough. Pet tanked; Azibelle's pet killed itself on my pet's damage shield. Healed my pet a couple of times. Nuked a couple of times -> dead Azibelle.

Love the perma see-invisible. Won't have to re-cast or lose sight of my air pet now.

Smiley: yikes After ******** up time after time on this quest, completed the badge of honor last Sunday. Azibelle was dispatched easily with myself (51 druid), and two ranger friends, 56 and 53.

When i tried to complete this last time i made the fatal (literally) error of using snare to try and pull Azibelle past the spectres. This was a marvelous failure, pulled everything and everyone around her. This time my ranger friend (thanks Puban!) used arrows to pull her, she came out easily without any friends except her pet.

Looks like time to start on the next...Smiley: grin

It was most likely his level as compared to yours that made the difference in number of mobs pulled, not the method of pulling.

Nevertheless, grats on getting your badge :)

Having proceeded on with this quest series, I was happy to be getting the nice badge with the "see invisible" component (one less buff to drop).

I took a group from my guild with me: three mid 50's Druids, a 53 chanter, a 49 shammy and myself (51 shammy). I did the first part of the quest with the investigator while the rest of my group waited near the bank. Got the insignia and then headed to the bank for that zone in. Then we got stopped cold.

The zone in entrance to the aqueducts via the bank area was bugged. No zone line in or available. So, we decided to go in through the Pit of Doom and the druids would evac if necessary.

We invis'd up and head down. We ran all the way around, skirting the walls, and had no problems at all, until my Invis. suddenly dropped (no message or blinking icon, THANK YOU SOE!) and we aggroed a spec. We decided to just clear the area and within a minute, the specs were dead.

We topped off our mana and then I did the dialogue with the guard. He despawned and the corrupted appeared. The necro appeared but was mezzed. Then the sentry appeared. Corrupted and sentry were both down in about 30 seconds. Interestingly enough, the necro went down with one DD from a druid.

We went to the circular area just past the guard to pull Azibelle. Sepsis rats had appeared and they aggroed immediately. Again, no problem with them. So, we pulled Azibelle to the area. Two specs aggroed and we killed Azibelle, her pet and the two specs with very little trouble. In fact, afterward, my guild mates asked "Is that it?" Heh! I have a habit of overkill. Better safe than sorry.

Got the head, some nice plat, and turned it in for the QBH. All in all, a very easy quest if you get a group together.

Now off to JPF to get the Nobility badge.

Completed this tonight and can confirm that the zone-ins near the bank are bugged (on Veeshan server at time of this writing). We ended up using the zone-in in N Qeynos in the newbie area and winding our way through. A map was a must and a high sense heading was sweet in navigating the aquaducts to Guard Helminth's spawn point.

Other than the zone-ins everything went off as explained in the walk-through without a hitch. Thank you all for the great info!

Badge of honor, question

Guard Helminthe & Azibelle - Badge of Honor
# Nov 05 2002 at 4:23 PM Rating: Decent
Just completed this quest and all the tips on where to zone in for Investigator (outside city secret wall aquaduct entrance and than out and into Qeynos to bank aquaduct entrance for Helminth) worked great. It wasn't difficult to find the secret wall entrance. We tracked our way to Guard Helminth - or as you zone in start with your back to wall and simply follow/swim the right wall. Rooted the green adds when Corrupt showed up and than finished Helminth off. We did pull him back around the corner away from the rooted ones of course. Rooting the adds naturally keeps down the casting interruptions nicely. We found that after killing Corrupt Guard Helminth and adds we paused for some med time in place with no interruptions. (52 Ranger and 52 Druid) Next keep following the hall and you will quickly agro the two rats as you enter a wider rounded portion of the hall. You can kill the rats quickly save mana - dmg shield and full buffs up these two greens went fast. Next you can "sneak" forward past the guards to target Azibelle and than back up and pull her - arrows worked well. For some reason she hesitated and it took like 4 arrows (guess she didn't get the hint) to get her to come out past the guards. The guards didn't agro. First time we simply melee'd attacked her and than dispatched the pet. She was a bit tough and things did get a little interesting for a bit. Second time - we got a bit smarter - and root/dotted her and waited till she was 50% than killed her and pet. Off to work on Jaggedpine Faction for the next Badge quest now !

Iksar Necro

Just finished the 4th badge last night with my lvl 56 iksar necromancer.

Had a druid available for wolf form most of the time, so it was sufficient to kill gnolls and give gold to robbie shilster in NK. Had to raise Steel Warriors, because some red to 56 warriors were on the way for the first quest.

First quest was done without problems. Only Order of Three (casters) were KoS in wolfform, but they were easily avoided. Do not go invisible while the investigator is your pet, he will attack.

Second quest was easy enough. Only that the NPC talk really slow, so you need some time. A lot of critters spawned at the abandoned druid ring, so bring friends if you're unsure.

Third quest: The necro in WK can be tough. Killed my lvl 52 bard easily. Fear kite with my necromancer she was no problem (conned blue to 56).
The rat game seems to change every time it is done (a druid did it right after me), so read that book and understand the rules. It's easy.

Fourth quest: This is where I was really stuck. The spawned Guard Helminth was light blue and conned threateningly, so I could not hand in the ring to spawn Azibelle Spavin. Luckily the druid I met in SK conned indifferent and we agreed to team up and do this part two times for each of us.
With her (lvl 60) and me it was easily done. Guard Helminth and Azibelle can be spawned as much as you like while you have the ring from Vegalys.
(*edit* Guard Helminth was threateningly to my iksar necromancer. I returned another day with an enchanter friend. With his werewolf buff (boon of the gargou?) I went from threateningly to indifferent).

Proud owner of a Qeynos Badge of Honor now.

Jaggedpine People are still KoS, so I guess there is another week of faction work to do Smiley: banghead

Multiple Spawns?
# Oct 25 2002 at 7:51 PM Rating: Decent
Has anyone tried spawning the Corrupt Helmith/Azibelle more than once with the same Seal? It could be a time saver if several people were doing this if you could re-spawn Azibelle several times with the same seal. Then the rest of the folks could just finish the quest as soon as they get the original seal from Vegalys.

I have no idea if the investigator de-spawns after the turn in and if so, what is his re-spawn time?

YES... We just completed this portion twice in a row.

After we killed Azibelle, the rest of the party sat/med next to where Helminth spawned and I ran back and talked to the investigator again to re-start the cycle. Worked great and good XP as well.

Will be going back again to get more heads for other Guildmates.
Important note!

An important note:

DO NOT ZONE IN USING THE ZONE BY THE CELLS UNDER THE PVP ARENA!

The entire necro guild will aggro you as you round the first set of corners.

Take the zone by the bank and go around that way.

With the latest patch.. the qeynos badge of honor quest HAS continued!!! here is what you do. Zone into the new Jagged Pine zone and proceed to kill gnolls to get up your faction.. turn in Gnoll Canines for faction.
Bards can just use charisma song right off the bat to speed things up. =) luck us

You say, 'Hail, Sergeant Caelin'
Sergeant Caelin says 'Hail, Limecherry. You have nothing to fear from the gnolls. My men and I have been sent from Qeynos to help defend Fort Jaggedpine should those worthless curs make the mistake of assuming this will be a place of easy plunder. I've fought and slain scores of gnolls in my time. Were I not bound to my post here I would go forth and drive them from their dark cave to the north myself. However, I can offer you a [bounty], should you choose to take such a mission upon yourself.'

You say, 'what bounty'
Sergeant Caelin says 'If you choose to go and fight against the gnolls, I shall offer a bounty for every gnoll canine that you return to me. You look a bit more adventurous then many of those that live in this settlement. They seem a bit [docile].'

You say, 'who is docile'
Sergeant Caelin says 'Perhaps it comes from living in harmony with nature for an extended period of time but they are more concerned with trading food recipes and doing arts and crafts. I have offered to give them some basic training in the arts of war but they seem to have no interest. This is a dangerous world in which we live and failure to acknowledge that has meant the downfall of many a society. I won't let this happen on my watch, provided my [men] are on their toes.'

You say, 'What men'
Sergeant Caelin says 'Guard Bossamir is a model soldier and a good man. I'm happy to have him watching my back. That Finewine character however, he is not worth the cost of the sword he wields! All he does is whine and complain. He was born with a silver spoon in his mouth and his family enrolled him in the guard to teach him some discipline but I've had no luck with him. He hasn't even turned in a [shift report] for weeks. Captain Tillin will bust me down to private if I don't deliver those soon.'

***Kills Gnolls and turn in Gnolls fangs otherwise Sergeant caelin will just say "you have not proved yourself worth to our cause". You need to be at least amibile to him. when you are...***
You say, 'what shift report'
Sergeant Caelin says 'You have been helpful in our defense efforts. However, I can not be too careful about whom I trust with carrying this information. If you truly consider yourself an ally to Qeynos then no doubt you have assisted the city in its defense before. Show me your Qeynos Badge of Honor and I'll know I can trust you fully. I'll place my mark upon it should anyone question your authority to do this service for me.'
***hand him your Qeynos badge of Honor and you will receive "Marked Qeynos Badge of Honor" in return along with "A warning note/report" to give to Guard Finewine. Sorry I don't have the dialogue for that but trust me***

*to your right and within eye site is Guard Finewine. He is standing by the other house back entrance*

You say, 'Hail, Guard Finewine'
Guard Finewine says 'Yeah. Hi. Lovely place this. Humid, dark, wild animals all over the place, man eating plants, snakes and bugs finding their way into my armor and biting me where a man ought not be bit. And if [Bossamir] is right, we're soon to be cut down by ravaging gnolls. Why-oh-why did I get assigned to this job? Why wasn't I assigned to Qeynos where a man can get a decent meal and sleep in a nice bed at night? Oh I'm sorry. Did I say that out loud?'

You say, 'What Bossamir'
Guard Finewine says 'Hmm. . . Yeah, I have this tendency to prattle on when I'm completely miserable. According to what my colleague Bossamir has heard, these gnolls may be tougher then we thought. But that would be par for the course anyway with the way my pitiful life is going. Woe is me. The people in this backward settlement hate me, Sergeant Caelin hates me and I assume Kane hates me too because he sent me to the armpit of Antonica on a suicide mission.'

*gave him the Warning letter/note*
Guard Finewine says 'So he wants to send me to jail simply because I'm not filling out some silly reports? How can I be expected to think in such a decrepit state? Maybe you could help me. If I had a meal worthy of someone of my breeding then maybe I could think. Bring me something elegant, I don't want anything dull and pedestrian. I don't know what I want though. Do you have any suggestions?'

**I have not completed this part of the quest yet.. I'm only going on hearsay**
((((Guard Finewine wants some dryad or potameid pate first before he will part with the report. Finewine then says he wants panther pate and will give you a no drop brandy for the dryad/potameid pate.

--Dryad, Potameid pate
-First you need Dryad meat (which will lower your faction with Dryads and they are everywhere in this zone) or Potameid meat (trivial 151)
-foraged plant shoots
-brandy
-spices
-combine in an oven or spit which will result in a +4 wisdom banquet meal for the dryad recipe and +4 intelligence banquet meal for the potameid recipe.
thank you Bogfly for this recipe and info

---panther pate
-no drop panther liver from JP panthers
-foraged plant shoots
-no drop brandy from guard (see above)
-spices
-combine in an oven or spit
---combine is currently broke on this (????)
