    You say, 'Hail, Jali Kaliio'

Jali Kaliio says 'Greetings outsider. I trust you have [peaceful intentions] while visiting our village?

You say, 'I have peaceful intentions.'

Jali Kaliio says 'That is good to hear. Those filthy kobolds have caused enough trouble. We do not need more enemies.' Jali turns around and glances at another Kejekan. This one seems somewhat ill. Her fur is coming out in patches and strange sores cover her body. 'That is my wife, Yuio. She has come down with a sickness, no doubt caused by those accursed kobolds.' Anger wracks Jali's face as he speaks. 'I would ask you for [help] but you are a stranger and owe us nothing. Of course if you did assist me, I would be forever grateful.'

You say, 'I would like to help.'

Jali Kaliio says 'Oh thank you. You are most kind. I fear that there is not much time left for my dear Yuio. Please speak to [Khonza Ayssla]. She is most wise and perhaps can find some cure for this affliction.

You say, 'Who is Khonza Ayssla?'

Jali Kaliio says 'Khonza Ayssla is the village's High Shaman. She teaches the ancient ways of Okanjo and is most wise. If she cannot assist you I do not know who can. I would go myself but I am too worried to leave my dear wife behind. When you find Khonza, tell her that Jali sent you. Please hurry, friend!

Khonza Ayssla is inside the southwest building. Tell her, 'Jali sent me.'

Khonza Ayssla says 'Ah yes Jali, whose wife is ill. I have been looking for a cure for many moons. I do believe I can make one now if I had the proper ingredients. Unfortunately it will require the deaths of some of our lands creatures but the spirits will not be angered as it is for a noble cause. Perhaps you could [fetch them] for me?

You say, 'I will fetch them for you.'

Khonza Ayssla says 'Take this satchel and please listen closely. I need the following and they need to be relatively fresh. So dont waste time with frivolous strolls through the jungle. I require two Panda Claws, two Tiger Skins, two Asp Poison Sacs, a Bamboo Shoot, and a Kejekan Palm Fruit, which you will need to find somewhere in the jungle. Once you have these items, combine them in the bag and return to me.'

    You receive a Burlap Satchel.

Panda Claws can be found from pandas in Stonebrunt.
Tiger Skins drop from Kejek Tigers.
The best place to get Asp Poison Sacks is in Oasis of Marr.
The fruit and bamboo are foraged in Stonebrunt. Make sure to put them in bags after your food and drink so you don't accidentally consume them.

Combine the 8 items inside the bag to get a Full Gathering Satchel. Bring it back to Khonza.

Khonza Ayssla says 'I thought the kobolds would have you for dinner, but you made it back.' Ayssla takes the satchel and begins to pour different vials of foul smelling liquid into it. She then takes the entire contents of the bag and dumps it into a large kettle and begins to chant in an unknown language. After a few minutes, she takes a small amount of the now boiling liquid and puts it in a vial. 'Take this vial back to Jali. I pray to the Titan Spirits that it works.'

You receive a Vial of Healing Liquid (MAGIC, LORE, NO TRADE, Tiny, weight 0.2) in return.

Giving this to Jali gets the following:

Jali Kaliio says ''Khonza Ayssla gave this to you? We must try it at once then.' Jali opens the vial and gently tilts back Yuio's head. He pours the liquid into her mouth and waits. Miraculously, Yuios fur begins to take on a healthy sheen and the sores begin to disappear! Yuio falls into Jali's arms then goes slack, passing out. 'She needs much rest. I cannot begin to thank you enough for helping us. Please accept this as a reward. It is not much but it should be of some use. You are indeed a friend of ours and if you ever need shelter from the wilds, please visit us again.'

Just don't be KOS to the Kejekans. My experience in SBM trying to do this quest went like so; Killed soemthing near 20-30 pandas with a friend and ended up with 2 claws. 1 off an elder and 1 off a cub. The tiger hides were a bit easier. Would have been even easier if I had tracked one of the many highland tigers for them. They drop 2 sometimes. Nonetheless, I got a couple off Kejek tigers. The venom sacs should indeed be imported from SRo as it takes all of 30 seconds to get at least 2(I ended up with 6 after 1 quad kiting session). I'm STILL trying to forage the fruit and bamboo. Spent about 36 straight hours foraging with camo all over the zone. I have 30 pounds of food and water to show for it.

I really do wish Verant would keep themselves informed of their own products functionality, sure it'll cost some dough but they should want everything working more than we do, imo. I have a standing order for anyone on Cazic-Thule. 100pp for 1 bamboo shoot and 1 kejekan palm fruit. Save a ranger's sanity and send a tell today! =)

    Broken quest
    # Nov 18 2001 at 6:32 PM Rating: Default
As of the last patch, the items you need to forage don't come up. I don't know if this was done intentionally by VI or not. I'd been at it for a couple of days too and finally asked other players in zone. Was starting to seriously wonder... My forage skill is 179. Hopefully they fix it soon. I'd really like to get my hands on one of these.

i think it is very broken ever since patch they screwed it up or sumthin if they did im gonna be pissed sat out there for days collecting panda claws (have about 18 atm) which were already rare as hell then they have to go and make the quest even harder(or impossible........)

Can anyone tell me if the Panda Claws drop off of Panda Cubs? They are all I can find in the last few days. :(

Yes, they drop off cubs, young pandas, mature, elder. I know Giang Yin drops his own claws, I don't know if he drops these too, and I'm not about to go poke him to find out. :p

Been at this foraging for 3 days now and contacted a GM. Is the quest broke? More than likely they have no idea. With the foraging changes in the last patch it was supposed to get harder. Seems like it's impossible now. My foraging skill is 163 and now I've got lots of food..but nothing for the quest, go figure.

I sure hope foraging is broken. I spent probably about 20+ hours off and on with a 200skill and nothing! I tried all different sections of the zone (jungle, forest, mountains, snows. Havent been able to get a GM to answer my petitions. Surprise there eh?

I was in Stonebrunt for about 5 hrs tonight. Foraging skill of 200 and I was not able to forage any Palm fruits or bamboo shoots. I did not contact a GM. I think the quest is definately broke. Meanwhile I seemed to do real well with the panda claws. Got about one an hour. Good luck to all thats trying and hopefully the foraging problem will be fixed.

Anyone have any luck with foraging yet? I would like to get a pair of these for my Warr. but will not spend money for them. I would buy a pair of SSOY's for that kind of plat.

    # Nov 09 2001 at 10:30 AM Rating: Decent
Spent 12+ hours in SBM with a 150+ forager since the 'foraging fix' patch this week. 3 panda claws, 0 bamboo shoots and 0 kejakian palm fruits :(
Either I've had an insanely bad run of foraging or VI accidently (purposely?) broke this quest ... has anyone managed to forage this items in the past 2 days?

Ill just say this. 15 hours in zone. 190 foraging skill. Neiter of the quest items foraged. Petitioned a gm. got a guide who swore that its working perfectly and that I just need to be more persistant. Yeah right. Friend petitioned. He got a GM. GM said it hasn't worked since the last patch. And that It will be working again shortly. I had a third petition done only to get another guide who told me its working correctly. Now who do I believe? The GM. Just wait til next patch and see if its fixed then. Until then, find the person who is declawing all these pandas.

I'm having the same problem with foraging with this latest patch. Normally I'd have 5 of the bamboo and fruit by the time I got the panda claws. If foraging these items is going to be so difficult, how are the non foragers going to be able to complete this quest, much less any other quests which require foraging? At least I can spend my time looking for those heretics's heads.

Spent all day foraging after the patch with a 200 foraging skill with no luck. Before the patch I could get both items in less then 10 minutes.

Are the pandas a rare spawn or somthing? I spent two hours in this zone with a ranger friend and we never saw hide nor hair of a panda on track the whole friggin time! Is there a place where they spawn more often? Any help would be greatly appriciated. :)

I am a lvl 47 tank. The panda claws are not trivial because they are magic only not lore. I looted one off a Mature Panda last night. So no it doesn't effect non lore items

Can these also be imported like the asp venom sacks?
    RE: Tiger skins
    # Oct 24 2001 at 4:20 AM Rating: Excellent
Probably, but they do drop fairly often from the Kejek Tigers (the orange-and-black striped variety) which are mid-20s mobs, and slightly less often from the harder (white) highland tigers -- so while you could get the necessary skins by (say) killing the tiger in Ak'Anon zoo for ages, it's not really worth the effort.

    Hehe
I've heard a lot of people comment on the trivial loot code and worryin whether or not they can do this quest becuase of the Panda Claws. Yes ye can. The claws are not Lore Items, they are only magic, not sure if that means anything to the trivial loot code or not, but I got my claws off of some very green cubs. The fact that absolutely no one sells the claws, forced me to hunt for them. Btw, adds in this zone are insane.

Wrong, this quest cannot be done using a level 52 char. Trust me, killed 12 pandas from cub's to elders. got 2 sayings that my skill was too high to blah blah... get the loot.
Pissed at Verant here.. I mean seriously,, this zone's so far out of the way and hard to get to,, then they make it TLC.

    # Oct 07 2001 at 9:19 PM Rating: Decent
I just completed this, and the Swiftclaw Sash Quests last night. This one is pretty self explanatory. Here are the two helpful hints I can think of:
1)Bring a ranger or druid, you'll thank me later
2)Bring Poison sacs ahead of time, nothing is worse than trecking all the way back to oasis to kill CISTERN asps. Yes, that's right CISTERN asps...I killed two in oasis, and got two asp poison sacs. Don't bother killing regular asps, cause as far as I can tell, they don't drop asp poison sacs. (Don't ask me...e-mail the wizkids at verant)

    Problem with Claws
    # Oct 07 2001 at 8:02 AM Rating: Decent
The Panda Claws are indeed rare. After almost a week of hunting the pandas and various add-ons down, we came up empty on claws. Finally I had to buy them off a more fortunate hunter in the zone. The rest of the quest is easy. When we have had a chance to try it out, we'll post on their effectiveness.

The problem is that NO one sells them.

Heh i've paid 237pp and a sands of RO for ONE panda claw. I've also paid 15pp for one. Just depends on how greedy the seller and how desperate the buyer is.

My first visit to Stonebrint was last night. Within 2 hours, I had all the ingredients for the Frozen Sky Wak (this needs an abbreviation! FSWak? Wak? suggestions?) EXCEPT the Panda Claws. It wasn't a TLC issue - I am 38 and all pandas including Cubs are blue to me. It's just a rarity issue. I killed six cubs (every one I could track in 2 hours) and no Claws dropped.

Then, I considered buying them. I /shouted for a PriceCheck. Six people shouted back 100pp. No one shouted anything different. Heh. I'm thinking that at least for now, thats the rock-solid price. Which essesntially means the FSWak will cost you 200pp plus the common drops. Not too terrible.

I'm getting good XP, so I'll just keep killing pandas. This will be MUCH easier at 39, with Levitate and Call of Sky. Assuming the Panda Cubs don't green out on me...

    Asp Sacs
    # Oct 01 2001 at 1:41 AM Rating: Decent
Best place to get them is South RO. I got about 15 sacs in 30 minutes. Citern Asps drop them at least 50% of the time, maybe more.
Don't wanna give away the secret but..

Seems as though the posts have tapered off, but if anyone still needs info here ya go. I have done this quest 5 times. Yes thats f-i-v-e. I am duel weilding these Waks and my friend has a pair as well. I finally got one to sell last night YAY!

To address the main question here, Kejekan Palm Fruit, and Bamboo Shoots ARE foraged. I have a stack of each that I give away to questers. (Not sure about other servers but they are foraged on Tholuxe) Also when I dropped one of these on the ground it looked like a green leaf, not a little bag. This kinda makes me think it is a ground spawn as well. Where it spawns? I have no clue...

Second, Panda Claws seem to be totally random RARE drops off ANY panda. I just got a claw last night off a cub so nothing was changed, as far as claws go, in the patch.

I've only ever gotten one asp sac myself. this was in SRo off a cistern asp. I've looted hordes of snake venom sacs off the asps in EC, but no asp sacs. =( I normally buy my sacs in Stonebrunt, from players, or trade for them.

Tiger skins are obvious and no one seems to have a problem getting them. Just note, they only drop off Tigers (Highland and Kejek) and not Lepards (sp).

Good luck find those panda claws :)

Oh and if anyone could post what all the patch did change (it said an NPC now gives out the correct reward, quest item) I would greatly appreciate it. e.g. what NPC, what did it give out before, and what does it give out now, and what quest.

    Thanks,

I'm not saying you're wrong, but I'd hate for people to spend a bunch of time hunting the ground for something they won't find. Globs of Slush Water are foraged, yet when dropped look like red lumps. This is in the snowy areas of Velious, as well as Kael and Thurgadin.
    Asp Posion Sacs

Ok I am hunting in Stonebrunt Mountains and have everything I need except the Asp Posion Sacs. My question is are the posion sacs that drop off the emerald adders in SM the posion sac needed for the quest. I am a little worried because they identify as just a posion venom sac and not an asp posion sac. Anyone who has done this quest please let me know what sac I need to us and where to get it. Thanks

I am a 32 dark elf sk reading what lvl of mobs drop the needed components (except for the foraged pieces gah) i was thinking of doing this quest. The only problem is would I be KOS to the Kejekan if i have not had any faction changes whatsoever??? If i am indeed KOS to the Kejekan is there any quick and relatively painless way to raise faction with them? I would really appreciate any help with this.

Its been my experience that everyone except those in illusionary forms (including wolf form) start out indifferent. Illusionary forms are KOS to the kejekans in Stonebrunt. Killing Titans lowers your faction with them.

Please let me know if you discover differently.

From my time spend in the stonebrunt mountains, I would say killing kobolds would be way to go with that, im not sure which give faction for the cats, but my guess is going close to the city and then killing some.
