You say, 'Hail, Jali Kaliio'
Jali Kaliio says 'Greetings outsider. I trust you have [peaceful intentions] while visiting our village? You say, 'I have peaceful intentions.' Jali Kaliio says 'That is good to hear. Those filthy kobolds have caused enough trouble. We do not need more enemies.' Jali turns around and glances at another Kejekan. This one seems somewhat ill. Her fur is coming out in patches and strange sores cover her body. 'That is my wife, Yuio. She has come down with a sickness, no doubt caused by those accursed kobolds.' Anger wracks Jali's face as he speaks. 'I would ask you for [help] but you are a stranger and owe us nothing. Of course if you did assist me, I would be forever grateful.' You say, 'I would like to help.' Jali Kaliio says 'Oh thank you. You are most kind. I fear that there is not much time left for my dear Yuio. Please speak to [Khonza Ayssla]. She is most wise and perhaps can find some cure for this affliction. You say, 'Who is Khonza Ayssla?' Jali Kaliio says 'Khonza Ayssla is the village's High Shaman. She teaches the ancient ways of Okanjo and is most wise. If she cannot assist you I do not know who can. I would go myself but I am too worried to leave my dear wife behind. When you find Khonza, tell her that Jali sent you. Please hurry, friend! Go to Khonza and tell her, 'Jali sent me.' Khonza Ayssla says 'Ah yes Jali, whose wife is ill. I have been looking for a cure for many moons. I do believe I can make one now if I had the proper ingredients. Unfortunately it will require the deaths of some of our lands creatures but the spirits will not be angered as it is for a noble cause. Perhaps you could [fetch them] for me? You say, 'I will fetch them for you.' Khonza Ayssla says 'Take this satchel and please listen closely. I need the following and they need to be relatively fresh. So dont waste time with frivolous strolls through the jungle. I require two Panda Claws, two Tiger Skins, two Asp Poison Sacs, a Bamboo Shoot, and a Kejekan Palm Fruit, which you will need to find somewhere in the jungle. Once you have these items, combine them in the bag and return to me.' Panda Claws can be found from pandas in Stonebrunt. Tiger Skins drop from Kejek Tigers. The best place to get Asp Poison Sacks is in Oasis of Marr. The fruit and bamboo are foraged in Stonebrunt. When you return the bag to Khonza, Khonza Ayssla says 'I thought the kobolds would have you for dinner, but you made it back.' Ayssla takes the satchel and begins to pour different vials of foul smelling liquid into it. She then takes the entire contents of the bag and dumps it into a large kettle and begins to chant in an unknown language. After a few minutes, she takes a small amount of the now boiling liquid and puts it in a vial. 'Take this vial back to Jali. I pray to the Titan Spirits that it works.' Your faction standing with KejekVillage got better. Your faction standing with PeaceKeepers got better. You recieve a Vial of Healing Liquid (MAGIC, LORE, NO TRADE, Tiny, weight 0.2) in return. Giving this to Jali gets the following: Jali Kaliio says ''Khonza Ayssla gave this to you? We must try it at once then.' Jali opens the vial and gently tilts back Yuio's head. He pours the liquid into her mouth and waits. Miraculously, Yuios fur begins to take on a healthy sheen and the sores begin to disappear! Yuio falls into Jali's arms then goes slack, passing out. 'She needs much rest. I cannot begin to thank you enough for helping us. Please accept this as a reward. It is not much but it should be of some use. You are indeed a friend of ours and if you ever need shelter from the wilds, please visit us again.' | ||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||

Can't do any of these quests because I don't have the faction, but can't raise the faction without doing any of the quests!?!?!
Any one know of some mob(s) that I can kill or other quests that raise Kejek faction?
You have gotten better at Fizzle (51)
You have been hit for 412 points of non-melee damage
LOADING, PLEASE WAIT
On a hunch, I noticed that some of the jungle trees had bright purple on their leaves, where others did not. Thinking that they looked like ripe fruit, I stood directly next to the trunk on one of these purple fruited trees, and got the Kejekan Palm Fruit on the 1st forage!!!
A day later, doing the quest again, I thought perhaps it a fluke, so went to test it. Standing under another purple fruited tree, I foraged and got the Bamboo shoot. I waited, and forage again, and got the Palm Fruit!!
Hope that helps!

Kejekan Palm Fruit is a very common forage, I would think someone would give you one in zone just for asking.
just my 2cp's.
Tiger skins(2): Kejek Tigers, Stonebrunt
(yellow stripped skin graphic)
Asp Sacs(2): Cisterns Asps, Oasis of Mar/Southern Ro
(green venom sac graphic)
Kejek Palm Fruit(1): Foraged in highlands and lowlands of Stonebrunt.
(Purple fruit graphic)
Bamboo(1): Foraged in highlands and lowlands of Stonebrunt and dropped from Pandas
(brown root graphic)
Panda Claws(2): Elder Pandas, Stonebrunt (you can actually see them carrying in their right hand)
(silver claw graphic)
Notes: I cant remember if the claws drop from anything but the Elder Pandas, but all pandas occasionally drop decent gems and bamboo. Look for that Fire Emerald drop- it sells for up to 80pp to merchants!
Good luck, and may the wind be ever at your back.
It only took 3 Cistern Asps in South Ro to get the Sacs, it's really no problem at all. I ended up with about 8 before I left.

The way to tell if the one youre fighting has claws is to watch the combat messages. If it has them it'll 'slash' you, if it doesn't it'll 'gore' you.
Edit: And just as a reminder, don't do what I just did. Make sure you have some food in a slot above the bamboo so you don't eat it. D'oh.

I foraged Kejekan Fruits and Bamboo Shoots in the snowy area. Kejekan Fruits seem rarer (5 shoots, 1 fruit).
The Panda Claws can be seen on the Panda's when they have one, you have to look close though, because the claws are 'merged' in the paws of the panda and only bits show through (hope that makes sense).
I also have bought one Panda Claws from the Kejekan Village vendors, for 35pp.
I was in a group and a guy asked if he could loot all pelts, that was fine... untill I found out he decided these pelts are 'useless' and was destroying them. They actually are not that uncommon at all. **The white tigers seem to have more of a chance to drop them and even 2 sometimes** as said below. I dont know why but the tigress' near the water fall... dropped them often. I think I have 3 or 4 now. (of course I want to get 2 blades for my ranger)
I aggree the weapon is not crap, the prock is very nice, they are not lore and its really not that hard to get the stuff, as mentioned before the most annoying part is the forage im sure. As it is I have not gotten anyhting and my forage sucks.
Also... for pandas.. I will share a secret they spawn a great deal in 2 places. the first is that road fromt he cat people, along that wall has a TON of them. Also about midstream in the grassy section there is a definate spawn point. And if you go up tot he waterfall and head out towards the Highland Kobold Camps, and keep heading into that direction there are 2 pandas that spawn 2 matures. if you imagine the path as a "Y" shape... you are traveling the "leg" of the letter Y (going up) Tracking showed one off to the right and one off to the left. I killed them a few times (yes the roam a bit, mostly out to the rest of zone) but they came right back. so I know of at least 3 pandas that alsways spawn in the same place. well more because of that wall fo rthe road... but thats hard to explain.

They proc at level 20, which is fine, but they are not a fast proc, and the spell is often resisted or doesn't hit for very much. I found they only attracted me undue agro and did not have a very good Dmg/Delay ratio.
Also, despite the pricing I found here, I could not find a buyer willing to pay 400, instead I sold one of them for 250 to some sucker to get an Icetooth's Claw back, and gave another to a Guildie.
i can do this quest or if not how can i increase

Just a Tip: Kill all panda's ... to just limit yourself to the " Cubs " is only gonna take you longer to get the claws.
make sure you have: 2 asp poison sacs (unstacked), 2 tiger skin's (unstacked), 2 panda claws (unstacked), a kejekan palm fruit and a bamboo shoot.
if the names do not match what i just listed (case ignored), then you might wanna try more hunting...and make sure you have all of it too
freshness shouldn't be a problem, since items don't decay over time on EQ....so...just check the items and the bag and try again.
p.s.-if anyone on Ayonae Ro has any panda claws or tiger skin's they are willing to donate (or maybe give for a fee-no more than 75pp for the claws and like 30pp for the skins-unless i get more desperate) send me a tell. i want to do this quest without help, but at 28 it's a bit tough (for a ranger atleast)

-EDIT: Both bamboo shoots and Kejekan fruit are foraged. Remember that there is a jungle just north of the lake. ;)

First thing I did was slaughter every asp in Sro. I had two stacks of poison sacks when I made it to Warrens.
It was my first time in Odus, and in the Warrens so I killed muglwump (didn't drop anything) on my way to SM.
Got to Sm and paid some lowbie ranger 20pp for a stack of fruits and shoots.
I then proceeded to kill every tiger in the zone. Got a skin out of every 10 tigers killed. I forgot if these drop off the yellow tigers or the white ones. I think the white tigers drop these more frequently.
After I had a few skins, I proceded to slaughter every panda I found. I got two claws right away! Then about 3 hours until I found another claw, and one hour for the next claw. Got 7 claws altogether in two nights hunting.
Then, on the second night, some named panda shows up, cons blue, and proceeds to kick my ass all over SM. The Kejekans didn't like it that I was fighting (running from) this big underconned panda and joined in the fight. Damn nuking Kejekans.... Almost died. Made it to zone (thanks to SoW potions) but had to use LoH.
Zoned back in and got me 3 WoFS. Ported back into SRo and dropped everything on my alts.
My baby ranger dual-wields these. They ROCK on a lowbie ranger. Add shammy buffs (haste and dex) and my little treehugger is quite the buzzsaw. Zoomed from 20 to 26 in one night hunting Paludal Caverns with these babies. L33T!

there ya have it not very orderly but this is how i done the quest now my warrior duels 2.

I have a below average forage. and managed to forage three bamboo shoots and a Palm fruit in two days. The fruit and the bamboo shoots I actually got while sitting in the tunnel recovering. So one can forage the components fromanywhere in the zone I would think, not just the jungle area.

The Palm Fruit and Bamboo are both foraged items. I know this due to the fact that this is how I got both of them, this night. Location in the zone doesn't appear to be a factor as I managed to forage both while sitting on the large rock right next to the entrace to the Warrens. Maybe you have better odds in different locations in the zone, but I can't confirm this.
http://everquest.allakhazam.com/zones/Odus/Stonebrunt_Mountains.html
1.) these things are RARE. I have killed at LEAST 60-70 pandas at this point, and gained only 3 ironically from panda cubs everytime.
2.) they look like weapon claws, because they are a weapon. 7/30 1hsl primary. equal to a kodiak claw. worth MUCH more as the rarest and hardest by far component of this quest.
3.) they cost about 40-80pp to buy off players. in my opinion, well worth the cost. even at 80. that sword can sell for 400 (extreme low) to 1200 (extreme high)... either way paying a mere 160pp tops for the two hardest components of the quest...
there. just some useful info.
Like all quests it takes time... but not too much time as to make it worthless.
It is relativly worthwhile at the level you can do it, not as good as stuff you could buy, but better then anything else you could earn as easily solo'd or small grouped.
The xp in the zone is nice, so while doing the quest, your making okay progress at the appropriate level to do it.
It's out of the way, so farming for this quest is minimal, since a farmer would haveto try and take out all the pandas in the zone, and even a 60 druid just can't cover a zone this big that well to get more then maybe half.
In effect, this is what quests in EQ SHOULD be.
Almost makes trying to get those damn calws worthwhile.
BUT nothin on panda claws. Not a one. 7 young panada kills, 2 mature panda kills... NOTHING.
(btw... panda cubs? where do i find them?)

First of all, I was very lucky in getting the items. About the second day I was hunting in the zone a very nice person gave me a set of panda claws. That is when I decided to look up the quest. After reading all of the posts, I thought I would try it since I really liked the zone anyway. The other items I was able to get easily on my own, and I got very lucky again tonight. A high level friend of mine just happened to loot another pair of claws. So jumping for joy I headed to Khonza and handed her the combined bag and recieved the vial. No problem.
Until I tried to give the vial to Jali. As soon as I opened the door and hailed him he just disappeared. Totally. I couldn't figure it out. So very confused, I just sat there wondering what to do. I chatted with a few friends about what was going on when lo and behold Jali appeared again. As soon as I got close though he vanished yet again. Well ok, this went on several times.
Finally, after I had sent a petition off, a nice high level player came into the village after I had told him what I was doing. He hung around and when Jali popped again he managed to find him and root him. Then he camped to clear the aggro, and I was able to hail Jali and after a little bit of hesitaion turn in the vial. BOOM! I got the Wakizashi!
Later on, I finally got a tell from the GM who basically ended up telling me that he could do absolutely nothing to help. Oh well.
So I guess to sum up....Is this a normal part of the quest? I for one doubt it. None of the previous posts mentioned this happening. I sure hope this is not the only way to complete the quest. One thing I do know is I will never sell this sword after all the trouble I went through. I can't imagine actually having to wait for those stupid claws to drop.
I hope this helps in some way...
This makes a good low lvl primary weapon for any melee class (except rogues, who should be using a pierce). It just doesn't proc enough on my rogue's offhand to be worthwhile (127 dex) but I'll keep it til I start a bard or warrior.

Well not nothing. I got 4 gems off them, each worth around 40-50pp to merchants and 75pp or so to jewelers. Which, in total is worth way more than the Wak on my server (AB).
but I still want to finish the quest. Any idea why no claws are dropping?
Warrior of the Forsaken

I have noticed that the claws are random off any of the panda's , none in particuler ( i know thats not spelled right :)
