Umykith Fe`Dhar is located in a room just beyond the maze, immediately to your left once you've ported into the giant staircase section.
You say, 'Hail, Umykith Fe`Dhar' Umykith Fe`Dhar says 'Hail! What news and stories have you from the New World? Perhaps if you are a bard you can spin me stories of those lands. Oh, I forget my manners. We shall exchange talk another time. You seek something, do you not? A new outfit perhaps?' You say, 'I seek a new outfit' Umykith Fe`Dhar says 'Well, then, I have just what you need. Now, my terms of payment are thus, you gather some things for me and in return I shall craft you the finest armor a bard has ever seen! A new outfit comprised of a helm, breastplate, armplates, bracers, gauntlets, greaves, and boots shall make you the envy of your peers, my little friend.' You say, 'What breastplate?' Umykith Fe`Dhar says 'I have need of an unadorned breastplate and three flawless diamonds. Find these for me and I shall craft you a breastplate, minstrel. May it protect you from unruly audiences with rotten vegetables.' Gems are dropped off various NPCs in Velketor's Labyrinth, Siren's Grotto, Cobalt Scar and The Wakening Land. Unadorned plate armor is dropped randomly in the Halls of Testing inside the Temple of Veeshan. Bring the three gems and armor piece back and in exchange, you'll receive your reward, experience and faction. | ||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||

Ally is considerably higher than warmly. This means that even if you could get your faction to warmly, you might not be able to use faction song to get you to ally.
I've used faction song to get me to ally before, but trying to get to ally with these damn dragons is insane. I know Coldain faction and CoV faction are seperate, but I was hoping that they kinda moved at the same pace......they do not. I was amiable with the Coldain when i was kindly with CoV, ok. Well after 3 days of killing giants in GD i have become ally with the Coldain. Cool, i think. I go to CS to check my faction......still kindly. Am I naive to think this is stupid? I have a pair of greaves I have from ToV. I would like to turn them in. But at this rate (I don't have a lot of time to play) I will never freaking see them. So in my opinion, the faction system for this game blows.

Coldain hate Frost Giants (Kromrif) more.
Dragons hate Storm Giants (Kromzek) more.
When you kill the Frost Giants in GD, you get +5 Coldain and +1 CoV faction hits. If you go into Kael or Wakening Lands and kill Storm Giants, you'll get +5 CoV and +1 Coldain.

Faction song can not take you to ally.

Cinda's Charismatic Carillion CAN take you to ally.
I used this song to quest for my boots, bracer and greaves when I was a step below ally.

Anyone who plays a Bard SHOULD recall the level 11 song. That's right, Cinda's Charismatic Carrillion, the one that improves faction. Just sing that song on any NPC and in 5 seconds you have a new friend. Save some time and effort, just sing the song and get it over with. Thats my idea anyway...

To get the skyshrine armors, you need to be ally faction with the dragons. Which means that you had to kill, or at least hit a lot of giants (dire wolves are easier for faction).
Don't forget the critters you have to run past to get to skyshrine, some have AoE spells, and that the unadorned armor drops from more dragons (with AoE spells) in the testing halls (its no drop).
And don't forget that the folks twinking you will most likely be a couple of groups in the 55-60 range.
Your "lvl 60 friend" better be a cleric with their epic to keep bringing you back from the dead (which will happen a lot).
