Crix Tzo'mok ( a sarnak conning indifferently) spawns at loc ( -2125, -935, -220). I hailed him and he responded with some text. I said "where is your home" and he responded with a need for 3 items. I went and farmed them ( key from Pruckb, supplies from Yajo and potion from Nimol. Turn them in and then began the waves of reavers and sargeant - maybe 5 waves? finally last wave, Mine Overseer Narrik popped ( he hit me for 63 max but at level 85 and 4200 ac dont read too much into that). won the event. gained no specil faction ( other than standard for killing mobs here) and no xps and no loot. Wekland Greenfoot ( a half elf connong indifferent ) spawned immediately in place of the sarnak. with similar text when I hail ( something about wishing to see their home again).
That's a quest for freeing the slaves, once freed the pop outside the cave. Find them and give them specific drops for a reward. The rewards are fairly outdated now, however, they ARE nice for lowbie alts and last I recalled--could've changed--aren't level restricted (just won't get full stats on them until of suggested level).

You need to add: A Goblin Miner and a Goblin Life Drinker to this zone. They also dropped Mt. Death Mineral Salt. They were both green to my 57 necromancer on Drinal. Faction: Got better with Brood of Di'Zok and lower with Goblins of Mountain Death.
Also need to add Goblin Flame Douser. White to level 57 on Drinal. Loot was Raw Fine Runic Hide.
Hm. It seems that this zone has had a face life. I was just cruising through trying to get my Chardok faction up and noticed too many new mobs in Nurga to list here. I am not sure how Allah goes about it, but this zone has had a lot of new mobs added or their names changed.

Updated, thanks. Is Goblin Flame Douser different than a goblin flame douser?
Never seen this drop before tonight (and I've spent a lot of time in Nurga), tonight seen two drop so far in ten minutes. Can be used in tradeskills. Got one off of a spirit lord and one off of a taskmaster. For a new alchemy recipe maybe?
During the free the prisoners event several waves of MOBs spawn. Each wave has 5 "a goblin reaver" and either "a goblin sergeant" or if it's the final wave "a mine overseer". None of these MOBs cast and all were dark blue to a 61 shaman. The sergeant and overseer have a ridiculous amount of HP. They were all partially slowable. I did the event with a 66 paladin, 61 shaman, 55 mage, 54 war, 53 ranger. We coulda definitely used another toon for DPS would have made the kills go faster. They dropped cash and one sergeant dropped a fire emerald.
Was cruising around at lunch, saw The Fabled Overseer Pruckib. I was alone so didnt take him on. Not sure what he'd drop, as he doesnt have anything on him but quest loot to free the slaves.
Does anyone know if the slaves are back in Nurga and in need of rescue again? I decided to go back to Nurga to get some drops for one of the slave's items. I ran right by Crix Tzo`mok. If so, I find it kind of stupid in a RPing sense. It takes an exceptional group of morons to be enslaved twice.
No, it's not possible to harm the slaves outside an event (if even then) and once the event is started you may as well go ahead and free the slave thats up.
I have fought for about 15 levels combined here and I am sure there are new mobs in Nurga.
Several new mobs since todays patch, a challenging goblin, a victorious goblin, a fearing goblin, a treacherous goblin, all dropped no drop , no stats stuff, most were located in the easier parts near the entrance. Someone told me its for the iksar warrior epic quest, which was finally implemented.
All mobs easy at 62.
As I was charming very deep in, a challenging goblins pet ran by me and trained me (or so it seemed, hehe) and the pet had no business being that deep in. Since I was the only one in the one it was pretty strange.
I guess I cant mq the parts with any iksar warrior because I am KOS in Cabalis :-(
didn't run across fearing, but did run into a fearless goblin also haven't found a treacherous goblin yet but have found a rebellious goblin, also there is a new mob in burning woods, wasn't on ranger so don't know if there are more just found the mob while running from chardok to the mines
Found a new mob in Mines of Nurga today - a challenging goblin. Dropped a broken mancatcher crown .. No Drop Lore item. Possibly an item for the Iksar quests they added today?
I don't have an exact loc, but was on the lower level of Nurga, near Traitor Efuin.
I just recently went back to nurga with my necro to PL a friends bard. I still love the xp here. Was getting at least 1 blue for every 2-3 kills.
Anyways, It took me 3 months to get 2 flame necklaces and in 2 days 1 got another 2 as well as 2 task whips. gem drops were much rarer but i think that was just bad luck.
Was able to complete another dingy pauldrons quest and another ring of sweet serenades.
slow but ok aa xp for tier 4 mobs. takes forever since they are light blue but hey, I was PLing so any xp is better than 0 hehe.
You could solo there sure...but the gobbies you'd be getting exp off of hit alot harder now (some in the low 120s) so you'd have massive healing up downtime. Bringing along a Bard would certainly help out since there are ALOT of casters here. At 58 you should resist almost all spells with average gear. The Bard would be better for healing in between fights, crowd control and snaring the MOBs when they run at 20%. The spawns are packed closely together now so if you can't snare them you will get adds.
Does anyone have any recent experience of the drop rate of the quest items here?
I have only recently started hunting this zone, but have killed over 200 of the tier 4 mobs and have only had ONE drop (a taskmaster whip).
Have I just been unlucky, or should I be expecting that sort of rate?
Thanks
Update: Had a break, but came back and killed another hundred or so and got two more drops. Looks like drop rate is somewhere between 1% and 2%, but it's a bit soon to say. Well, at least the sarnaks will like me by the time I finish these quests :)
Just wanted to add my own feedback to my own question of 4 months ago.
Finally finished the Earthen Gloves quest.
I killed around 1500 tier 4 goblins here and got 24 of the quest items to drop (7 whips, 5 bracers, 5 fetishes, 4 death marks, 3 beads). Assuming I killed equal amounts of each goblin (including sneaks) and maybe half the number of rats, then the drop rate is around 1 in 50.
And I was wrong about the sarnaks.. they STILL don't like me :)
I don't think anythig will make sarnaks like you in general... the only sarnak faction you can raise is brood of di'zok which is Chardok faction... but there is another sarnak faction (I forget the name) that cannot be raised... the inhabitants of Chardok do not share that faction but killing the sarnaks outside of Chardok will still usually hurt your chardok faction.
But chardok faction is long and tiresom to increase. To get it up you kill gobbies in Nurga and droga and also hand in goblin skins and mt death mineral salts to the stunted little sarnak herald just inside Chardok.
Beware there is a wanderer who, unlike the herald, will jump you while you are doing hand ins then you have to undo your work and kill it, gate out or run the gauntlet out of chardok the hard way past the fort and up the other passage.
(granted the hardest way would be to run the gauntlet all the way to the entrance to chardok b lol). I don't know if anyone has survived that run if aggroed yet lol.
i soloed nurga alot for exp and aas, and in my time of sitting in there i noticed that the quest items are rare to common. it just mostly depends on how lucky you are. i first went there for flame dancer beads, and in my exp those were the rarest of them all. but then while camping Deathcaller Joepalla i always got nurga death marks. so i would say its mostly a patience thing, just gotta wait and they eventually will drop. although the rarity of the drops isnt always worth the resulting item. if anyone is looking for tips, id say just dont give up they do drop, just rarely.
I've just finished getting the gloves for my cleric. Took about a week of camping. Results with a Lvl 65 necromancer covering the area from Death Caller Joepla around to Blackguard Thabis
a goblin blood knight 131 gave 3 bracers - drop rate 2.3% a goblin death caller 169 gave 4 runes - drop rate 2.4% a goblin flame dancer 125 gave 3 beads - drop rate 2.4% a goblin sneak 165 didn't drop any quest items a goblin spirit lord 174 gave 6 totems - drop rate 3.5% a goblin taskmaster 179 gave 2 whips - drop rate 1.1% Or 943 dead goblins to get 3 beads.
Nice quest rewards but expect to be in Nurga a long time getting them.
This is a gr8 zone for loot, espescially if you're a druid ;).Im bound right outside and have gotten at least 4 of every item (except lesser knuckles of serenity, grrr).Be careful if you bind outside though because I fell asleep and died in a LDON and when I woke up i was at my bind point and was back at lvl 51 =O because the gobbys near ent killed me a lot.
Has anyone checked all the items you can pick up in here. Some very nice stuff. Stuff seems to die fairly easy and very few adds. I am working on the Crafty Mask of Awarness quest for my level 55 enchanter. Have everything except one more blood bracer. That is only thing bad about these quests. You will have to spend some time doing them. I have spent probably 18 hours play time down there and only managed to get 2 blood bracers from killing roughly 50 blood knights. But it will be worth it in the end. I plan on getting a few other quest items down there. I might just spend the rest of my EverQuest life down there. If xp starts to get bad I will just move over to droga. But considering my buddy has a level 61 necro and he gets decent xp down there I shouldnt have to worry about that too soon.
And a Goblin Taskmaster. Tier 4 warrior, level 46-48. Rarely drops the nurgan taskmaster whip used for Pungub Brawlum's quest (plate class shoulder item).
Sure. Mobs here come in 5 stages of difficulty. The easiest ones are of levels in the upper 30's. Agro radius is very small. All the spawns are charted for you, color-coded by level. To download some in-game maps, see the link in my post below...
