Crix Tzo'mok ( a sarnak conning indifferently) spawns at loc ( -2125, -935, -220). I hailed him and he responded with some text. I said "where is your home" and he responded with a need for 3 items. I went and farmed them ( key from Pruckb, supplies from Yajo and potion from Nimol. Turn them in and then began the waves of reavers and sargeant - maybe 5 waves? finally last wave, Mine Overseer Narrik popped ( he hit me for 63 max but at level 85 and 4200 ac dont read too much into that). won the event. gained no specil faction ( other than standard for killing mobs here) and no xps and no loot. Wekland Greenfoot ( a half elf connong indifferent ) spawned immediately in place of the sarnak. with similar text when I hail ( something about wishing to see their home again).
That's a quest for freeing the slaves, once freed the pop outside the cave. Find them and give them specific drops for a reward. The rewards are fairly outdated now, however, they ARE nice for lowbie alts and last I recalled--could've changed--aren't level restricted (just won't get full stats on them until of suggested level).

You need to add: A Goblin Miner and a Goblin Life Drinker to this zone. They also dropped Mt. Death Mineral Salt. They were both green to my 57 necromancer on Drinal. Faction: Got better with Brood of Di'Zok and lower with Goblins of Mountain Death.
Also need to add Goblin Flame Douser. White to level 57 on Drinal. Loot was Raw Fine Runic Hide.
Hm. It seems that this zone has had a face life. I was just cruising through trying to get my Chardok faction up and noticed too many new mobs in Nurga to list here. I am not sure how Allah goes about it, but this zone has had a lot of new mobs added or their names changed.

Updated, thanks. Is Goblin Flame Douser different than a goblin flame douser?
Never seen this drop before tonight (and I've spent a lot of time in Nurga), tonight seen two drop so far in ten minutes. Can be used in tradeskills. Got one off of a spirit lord and one off of a taskmaster. For a new alchemy recipe maybe?
During the free the prisoners event several waves of MOBs spawn. Each wave has 5 "a goblin reaver" and either "a goblin sergeant" or if it's the final wave "a mine overseer". None of these MOBs cast and all were dark blue to a 61 shaman. The sergeant and overseer have a ridiculous amount of HP. They were all partially slowable. I did the event with a 66 paladin, 61 shaman, 55 mage, 54 war, 53 ranger. We coulda definitely used another toon for DPS would have made the kills go faster. They dropped cash and one sergeant dropped a fire emerald.
Was cruising around at lunch, saw The Fabled Overseer Pruckib. I was alone so didnt take him on. Not sure what he'd drop, as he doesnt have anything on him but quest loot to free the slaves.
Does anyone know if the slaves are back in Nurga and in need of rescue again? I decided to go back to Nurga to get some drops for one of the slave's items. I ran right by Crix Tzo`mok. If so, I find it kind of stupid in a RPing sense. It takes an exceptional group of morons to be enslaved twice.
No, it's not possible to harm the slaves outside an event (if even then) and once the event is started you may as well go ahead and free the slave thats up.
I have fought for about 15 levels combined here and I am sure there are new mobs in Nurga.
Several new mobs since todays patch, a challenging goblin, a victorious goblin, a fearing goblin, a treacherous goblin, all dropped no drop , no stats stuff, most were located in the easier parts near the entrance. Someone told me its for the iksar warrior epic quest, which was finally implemented.
All mobs easy at 62.
As I was charming very deep in, a challenging goblins pet ran by me and trained me (or so it seemed, hehe) and the pet had no business being that deep in. Since I was the only one in the one it was pretty strange.
I guess I cant mq the parts with any iksar warrior because I am KOS in Cabalis :-(
didn't run across fearing, but did run into a fearless goblin also haven't found a treacherous goblin yet but have found a rebellious goblin, also there is a new mob in burning woods, wasn't on ranger so don't know if there are more just found the mob while running from chardok to the mines
Found a new mob in Mines of Nurga today - a challenging goblin. Dropped a broken mancatcher crown .. No Drop Lore item. Possibly an item for the Iksar quests they added today?
I don't have an exact loc, but was on the lower level of Nurga, near Traitor Efuin.
I just recently went back to nurga with my necro to PL a friends bard. I still love the xp here. Was getting at least 1 blue for every 2-3 kills.
Anyways, It took me 3 months to get 2 flame necklaces and in 2 days 1 got another 2 as well as 2 task whips. gem drops were much rarer but i think that was just bad luck.
Was able to complete another dingy pauldrons quest and another ring of sweet serenades.
slow but ok aa xp for tier 4 mobs. takes forever since they are light blue but hey, I was PLing so any xp is better than 0 hehe.
You could solo there sure...but the gobbies you'd be getting exp off of hit alot harder now (some in the low 120s) so you'd have massive healing up downtime. Bringing along a Bard would certainly help out since there are ALOT of casters here. At 58 you should resist almost all spells with average gear. The Bard would be better for healing in between fights, crowd control and snaring the MOBs when they run at 20%. The spawns are packed closely together now so if you can't snare them you will get adds.
Does anyone have any recent experience of the drop rate of the quest items here?
I have only recently started hunting this zone, but have killed over 200 of the tier 4 mobs and have only had ONE drop (a taskmaster whip).
Have I just been unlucky, or should I be expecting that sort of rate?
Thanks
Update: Had a break, but came back and killed another hundred or so and got two more drops. Looks like drop rate is somewhere between 1% and 2%, but it's a bit soon to say. Well, at least the sarnaks will like me by the time I finish these quests :)
Just wanted to add my own feedback to my own question of 4 months ago.
Finally finished the Earthen Gloves quest.
I killed around 1500 tier 4 goblins here and got 24 of the quest items to drop (7 whips, 5 bracers, 5 fetishes, 4 death marks, 3 beads). Assuming I killed equal amounts of each goblin (including sneaks) and maybe half the number of rats, then the drop rate is around 1 in 50.
And I was wrong about the sarnaks.. they STILL don't like me :)
I don't think anythig will make sarnaks like you in general... the only sarnak faction you can raise is brood of di'zok which is Chardok faction... but there is another sarnak faction (I forget the name) that cannot be raised... the inhabitants of Chardok do not share that faction but killing the sarnaks outside of Chardok will still usually hurt your chardok faction.
But chardok faction is long and tiresom to increase. To get it up you kill gobbies in Nurga and droga and also hand in goblin skins and mt death mineral salts to the stunted little sarnak herald just inside Chardok.
Beware there is a wanderer who, unlike the herald, will jump you while you are doing hand ins then you have to undo your work and kill it, gate out or run the gauntlet out of chardok the hard way past the fort and up the other passage.
(granted the hardest way would be to run the gauntlet all the way to the entrance to chardok b lol). I don't know if anyone has survived that run if aggroed yet lol.

i soloed nurga alot for exp and aas, and in my time of sitting in there i noticed that the quest items are rare to common. it just mostly depends on how lucky you are. i first went there for flame dancer beads, and in my exp those were the rarest of them all. but then while camping Deathcaller Joepalla i always got nurga death marks. so i would say its mostly a patience thing, just gotta wait and they eventually will drop. although the rarity of the drops isnt always worth the resulting item. if anyone is looking for tips, id say just dont give up they do drop, just rarely.
I've just finished getting the gloves for my cleric. Took about a week of camping. Results with a Lvl 65 necromancer covering the area from Death Caller Joepla around to Blackguard Thabis
a goblin blood knight 131 gave 3 bracers - drop rate 2.3% a goblin death caller 169 gave 4 runes - drop rate 2.4% a goblin flame dancer 125 gave 3 beads - drop rate 2.4% a goblin sneak 165 didn't drop any quest items a goblin spirit lord 174 gave 6 totems - drop rate 3.5% a goblin taskmaster 179 gave 2 whips - drop rate 1.1% Or 943 dead goblins to get 3 beads.
Nice quest rewards but expect to be in Nurga a long time getting them.
This is a gr8 zone for loot, espescially if you're a druid ;).Im bound right outside and have gotten at least 4 of every item (except lesser knuckles of serenity, grrr).Be careful if you bind outside though because I fell asleep and died in a LDON and when I woke up i was at my bind point and was back at lvl 51 =O because the gobbys near ent killed me a lot.
Has anyone checked all the items you can pick up in here. Some very nice stuff. Stuff seems to die fairly easy and very few adds. I am working on the Crafty Mask of Awarness quest for my level 55 enchanter. Have everything except one more blood bracer. That is only thing bad about these quests. You will have to spend some time doing them. I have spent probably 18 hours play time down there and only managed to get 2 blood bracers from killing roughly 50 blood knights. But it will be worth it in the end. I plan on getting a few other quest items down there. I might just spend the rest of my EverQuest life down there. If xp starts to get bad I will just move over to droga. But considering my buddy has a level 61 necro and he gets decent xp down there I shouldnt have to worry about that too soon.
And a Goblin Taskmaster. Tier 4 warrior, level 46-48. Rarely drops the nurgan taskmaster whip used for Pungub Brawlum's quest (plate class shoulder item).
Sure. Mobs here come in 5 stages of difficulty. The easiest ones are of levels in the upper 30's. Agro radius is very small. All the spawns are charted for you, color-coded by level. To download some in-game maps, see the link in my post below...
Happy Hunting!

Charm works well in here with a druid. The rats are about the most powerful mobs in here. A Dangerous Mine Rat makes the best pet, they hit for 125 max and can kill 2 of any other mob before its dead (1 bub left usually).
Greetings, all. With some effort, I've compiled a resource for the mobs and quests in this zone. It includes a run-down of the slave quests and rewards and a descrition every one of the mobs in-zone and their drops. This includes all the named in zone. For your convenience, I've also included links to download the in-game maps I created with all spawn points included, color-coded by level and including the actual spawn points of every named.
Sadly it appears you either got sour grapes or quit the game and decided not to share your valued information any longer and so deleted your entire post depriving others who enjoy this game still, regardless very poor showing to do so
just went in there yesterday with some friends and killed a named mob i have never seen in before "overseer malam" he dropped a nice necklace for cleric, druids and shamans. but forgot stats. and additionally a item named "malams lucky charm" (no stats just LORE". have any1 seen this mob before and for what is this item..maybe quest?
I found Malam up the other day. He is in the room marked #1 on the western half of the eqatlas map. He spawns at the end, right in the middle (not one of the surrounding mobs that rings the wall). Approximate /loc of -1180, 650.
Agro radius is small enough that I was able to invis in, find a tight little spot to go visible between mobs where I could summon pet, buff up and remove Malam without any of his neighbors being disturbed (I did Pacify one after the fight start because my pet knocked Malam awfully close). There is a wanderer that will tread right down the length of the room and possibly foul things up, but he's on a long track and takes frequent pauses. I was fortunate enough to get Malam down and go back invis before the wanderer came back (several minutes round trip time). Malam was dark blue to 63.

Back when my main was a young early 40's, I came to Nurga to play. With the zone revamp, could my 42 cleric get a group here? If not, what zones with xp bonuses could I take her to to find one? And if anyone says DL, I'll scream. If I have to look at one more overdressed dog or eight-legged dark elf, I'm going to run off a cliff.
On Torvo Nurga is strictly bring your own group. Chances are your group won't have to share the zone with many. It's silly really. Nurga is a short run from the hunting area of Dreadlands. A group from there could come into Nurga and get more exp. and better loot. Not much more danger either.
Ok, I have what may end up being a stupid question but I really would like some clarification on this. Once you do the slave event and free said slave. That slave becomes permanent quest npc on your server? Or is he only spawned for a period and depops back to the slaves.

Once the slaves have been freed they stay in their hometown - until server crash/reset/patch I think. Freeing the slaves is not the hard part of the quest not even getting the special item from the named goblin is - getting the 3 items needed from regular nonamed goblins is what takes forever.
I wish more people would hunt here so maybe it would become possible to buy the quest items in the bazaar since none of them are nodrop.
Actually, once a slave is freed, the NPC quest-giving version seems to stay up even after a patch.
On Ant. Bayle my girlfriend managed to get all of the items for the hand-in for the FTII item that the slave in Firiona Vie hands out, but couldn't get there before the server went down for the patch before today's.
When the server came back up she rushed there immediately. The NPC was there and she got her item. The server had only been up for about 10 minutes by the time she got there, so it was not possible that someone had re-freed him.
From the room that now holds the bloodthirsty rat (the old Overseer Dlubish room) head due north. The next room will have a passage north and a passage east. North leads to a cavern with Taskmaster Crizz (-1150 -540) and east leads to Droga zone (if you follow left wall) and TM Huflam (-1145, -1230) if you go straight.
I've noticed that the disparity between common and rare drops is HUGE. I've iced Joepla a good dozen times, and all we ever see is his staff. At lest the named folk pop fairly often.
14ac 8 str/agi 40 hps 10 sv magic/fire/cold and they ARE no drop. Which strikes me as being odd seeing how all 4 items you turn in aren't no drop. They are only usable by plate classes, gee my druid is really happy he got these shoulders after 10+ hours of farming taskmasters for whips!
Common drop: Plate Boots of Light: Feet slot AC12, 8 Str, 4 Dex 20 hit points, 20 Mana 4 FR, 4 CR, 4 MR Recommended Level 40 War, Clr, Pal, Shd, Brd All Races
Rare drop: Hardened Globe of Intellect: Range Slot AC5, 4Stam, 5Char, 8 Int 10 Hit points, 40 Mana Mag, Enc, Nec, Wiz, Shd All Races
Always drops (or has so far): Blood Thirsty Rat Hide - Used in the quest from the Burynai Prisoner that is released to Frontier Mountains. You also need 3 Flame Dancer Beads for that quest as well. Once released, the Burynai can be found at -1666, 2098 in Frontier Mountains.
Happy Hunting. I'll post more mob info as I learn locs, commons, rares and quest items.

i concure, i have camped the blood thirsty rat area for quite some time, and he drops both of the items, his common is the boots and his rare is the globe.....he always drops the pelt, and he dropped Blood thirsty rat Meat once, but i have never seen it again since then
Taskmaster Yajo, Slave Driver Nimol and Overseer Pruckib all drop items for the slave ring event. They don't drop any loot other than the three things you need for the event.
You hand those items into the slave, and that starts the goblin event, which is:
6 waves of 5 goblins; 4 reavers (20-25k hp warrior) and 1 sargent (30-35k hp warrior). The reavers are around level 48 or so. The sarge is level 50.
You have exactly 2 hours to kill all 30 goblins. as long as you stay near the slave during the event, you'll only get one that aggros when they spawn. Kill him first, then pull the next closest, and so on.
The named that spawns at the end is Mine Overseer Nerrik (I believe), and he's a monster. About 50k hitpoints, level 51-53. The level 51 varient didn't summon, but the level 52 and 53 varients did summon. We've killed him about 6 times now, and he's never dropped any loot, which kind of sucks, but the quests which are unlocked have very nice rewards, so that sort of makes up for his lack of loot.
Last mob has 100kish hp. I unloaded a 5k HT and it dropped him 5 or 6%. We freed Xiokai Rissthrum, she now shows up at p6200 p40 right to right of cab entrance in LoIo. No idea what rewards from her quest is yet.

Well then contribute something that he can update the zone with. This is a community in which we all try to contribute. I'm currently bringing in a lower level char to try and figure out the new levels. I figure I pay the premium to gain full access to the website and bandwidth. The community is what makes it special.
There is an Ogre named Pungub Brawlum who spawns around n2127 n941. If you hail him and tell him "I will help you escape" he asks you for three items:
Small Iron Shackle Key off Overseer Pruckib Pouch of Supplies off Taskmaster Yajo Strong Restorative off Slave Driver Nimol
* Update - It appears the respawn time on these three named mobs is 7-8 hours, at least that is what he have seen the last couple days.
All three of these guys can be found in the western portion of the mines. When you return these items to Pungub an alarm sounds and five new goblins spawn in the room (all dark blue to level 62). A goblin sergeant (ton of HP's) and four goblin reavers (not too bad). A 65 shammy was able to single pull them. The sequence repeated 3 times (alarm followed by five same goblins spawning each time we cleared the room) and we called it quits (time to log).
I will try this quest again soon and add more info as I discover it, anyone who makes it through to the end please post your findings :)
I was down there today killing named, found 2 of these 3 and saw this post trying to ID the drops. I found an iksar named Xiokai Rissthrum asking for them in the same manner as your ogre posted.
I went back and tried this again and quit after four waves. I then saw a post in the strategy section from a Legends player describing the quest. You have to complete 6 waves in under two hours and then the slave pops up in home town as quest giver! There are several different slave races that pop so the home town and quests they give later are different. I recommend reading the actual post as its got many of the details...
BTW One named pops on top of the waterfall in far western tunnel and another thru a water tunnel under the waterfall!
I'm working on posting all the info for the slave quests, but at the moment it's slow going; most people don't like doing events without getting rewarded for it (even though the reward is some pretty nice quests).
The following links are what I've found so far in Nurga since it went live on Stormhammer about 4 weeks ago:
Mobs seem to run from about 35 (like before) up to about 50. Most I was finding were light blue to me at 62 nearer the exits. The closer my chanter friends and I got to the Droga zones and the Sleeping ogre, they were going almost all dark blue.
There are wanderers now, but not many. I was able to single pull through other mobs except in the area where the drop in from Droga is, I did get adds on that pull (was quite a shock to turn around and see three when I'd only gotten one every time up to that point).
Killed a named Overseer and he dropped a "Small Iron Shackle Key" Lore, no stats, and there was a named Ogre in one of the old slave pits, last one to the left after the second drop from the entrance. He was green to me and indiff, but I couldn't turn in as I was invis and my partner had already gated out (didn't wanna risk the run out without invis, though I most likely would have had little trouble).
Oddly enough, healer mobs, SKs and necros don't heal themselves or others, regardless of proximity. Best news, in my opinion, NO MORE DAMAGE SHIELDS. They cast like mad, but nothing had a DS up all night. Also, didn't come across a single mage mob. Quite a few wizards, necros and shamans, but no mages. SKs were HTing from 550 to 670 or so, at least to the depth we went.
Saw only 2 named, but saw lots that I suspect would be PHs for named. They seem to be fairly random in the zone, but one named was static as far as I could tell (popped in the same spot twice). Named Spirit Caller as I recall, dropped a nice Druid, Shaman, Cleric mask (partner has it and I didn't get the stats down). He was in the area at the bottom of the ramp with the 3 tents set up with the tracks running over head.
I'll probably post more as I suspect I'll be going back quite a bit. AA experience was rather nice and as a Monk/Chanter duo, we were able to take anything we came across and I never went below about 60% (Uproar is great isn't it?).

I was in mines of nurga and ran through most of it until i came to a goblin named Taskmaster Huflam .. or something like that. he dropped a dagger called Darkened Blood Spike 12 dmg, 23 Dly, Str 6, Sta 6, Wis 3, int 3, hp 25, Brd and Rog useable / All . lore item. he al;so dropped a ring called huflams ring. no stats . just a lore item. he spawns at loc neg 1150 neg 1234. its kind like in a cubby hole,, and the zone to temple of droga is just around the corner.
