READ!!!! IMPORTANT!!ok i was over in unrest forever, 5 hours probly and it took me that long to find the two secret doorways to the basement where the tentacle s and dark s are for the mag epic. so if u read bout the bookcase i wrote about earlier listen up, if not then when you walk into the place turn off the height filter and walk towards the only staicase u can see on your map , its through a door and when you get inside the room turn right and click on the bookcase and it opens like a door. ok now everyone listen when you get down that hallway to the end go down the stairs and then up the stairs on the other side, dont worry bout killin those things i wasted so much tim w this!! its not a door its just a blank wall and just walk through it and go down that hall, when u get to somethhing that looks like a lava pit dont go around it!! u fall into a fricken pit and have to climb up the ladder. go through the lava stuff and go on through and that will lead u straig to the stupid things!!! YOUR WELCOME!!

Word of advise from old school toon. Start with fighting yard trash. As you get more confident you can pull from 1st level of inside of house (exspect1-3 adds). Once this becomes easier for you you can venture one level at a time upstairs. The mobs get gradually harder per floor. Save the basment for last. The basement is the toughest and gets harder the deeper you go.(hidden walls, trap floors and the like)

The name of the belt is simply called "Belt of the Dead". Its a nice piece of armor... too bad I can't use it-- just give it to an alt. :D Most of the nice armor is surprisingly common. I have run into the same piece of good armor three or four times each-- too bad it's lore. Unrest is an excellent zone for extremely quick XP (I can get 2 or 3 levels in just an hour or so) for the level 20-30 range and some nice loot, too. :) Overall, Unrest is a GREAT zone-- my favorite.

Happy Hunting, all!

so far i have done this quest 11 times in two days 4 or 5 boxing with all level 70s. Using bard to pull i will share my strategy that gets this done in about 30 min or so. First, run someone up to balcony where the bodies are. right hwne you see the first emote jump off and run back, you should make it in time. kill the 2-3 mobs right in front of tunnel. then run around the maze on the right and pull the named from the gazebo...any FD puller should have no problem. theyd o not agro you until you jump INSIDE the gazebo.
Pulling the lubrarian is easy enough. IVU if you have it (or clear the way to stairs). run up there with your FD/bard puller and hit the librarian then jump off and run to tunnel...wait for lib to come out of the house and FD. every time he has been the last one sitting there. kill it.
IVU and go into basement up to the lava pit (werebats see invs). kill the 2 wandering mobs, the 2 at pit, the 2 near garanel and split him frm the mob in his room.
this takes roughly 30 min with my group. no lockout time. it cuts back on EXP but you get a lot of chances at nice loot.

Believe it or not 1 Aug and 9 cloaks so far!!

group consists of 70 war, 70 bard, 70 sham, 70 wiz and sometimes 70 cleric (pretty much just nukes and shammy heals).

Wandering pilgrims, Quellious followers found around the estate are non-aggressive, and are unable to be attacked. I tried, lol..and nothing happened. I have always loved Unrest and I am glad that they finally implemented some history of the haunted grounds.

Question: anyone know if the remains of the elves up on the balcony are used for anything? They are target-able but not sure if they do anything. My guildies and I love doing this quest =)

Group of avarege below 68 had trashmobs mostly around 65, Garanel lvl 67 and the magemob DB to a 66. When group hit lvl 67 avarage, the trash mobs were all the way up to 70, and Garanel red to a 69.

Very nice XP in here, 2 boxing 68 bst and 67 dru, and had a 69 druid friend with me i gained bout 2.5 AAs on clearing the yard. No real trouble tanking with the BST (7.5khp, all avoid AAs, most mitigate AAs), druid kited/rooted adds.

Didnt go for nameds that time tough, will try it later. Anyone have info on the 2 nameds with a 68+ group pls? HP/max hit/summons/resistance etc?

The lvl 67 Garanel is easy, everything lands on him, and didnt even take one heal on the BST one of the times we took him.

The Curse Begins

Starting this quest zones you into a special instanced version of Unrest laballed The Mansion of Unrest:The Curse Begins.

Starter NPC is in Butcherblock Mountains Name of Savil Tranquilsong, a high elf in white robe located just N.East of the LDoN Wayfarer Camp, near the GFay ZL.

Follow thru the dialogue with a group average level from 55-70 or simply tell him "I am willing".

After the promted text is spoken a "Savil's Wand" item appears on your cursor. It is Magic, Lore, Notrade and has one charge of "Savil's Time Portal" (cast time 10.0) which ports your group back to Butcherblock, once you have completed the mission.

Will have to post factual data from eqlog in a bit, but rundown of quest checklist looks somethin like this.

1. Zone into Dagnor's Cauldron
2. Speak with Savil's Assistant (green cursor appears like in DoN missions-leading to assistant a female high elf on the island in middle of DC)
3. Travel thru time to Unrest Mansion instance (hail assistant and say "I am ready")
4. Stop Garanel Rucksif from killing the priest of Quellious (it is part of the storyline, you cannot stop the kill from occurring-simply wait at the zone in until the zonewide shouts take place indicating that Garanel has killed him).*
5. Loot XX [Bauble/ToVK looking item - name?] off the creatures at the Gazebo (3 mobs at gazebo)
6. Loot Book of Knowledge off the creatures upstairs in the mansion (think the tower where Undead Knight normally spawns)
7. Kill Garanel Rucksif
8. Loot XX [dead priest's necklace item - name?] from Garanel's corpse*
*quest is actucally completed after looting Garanel, but you can get a little extra xp by returning the 3 quest items to Savil in Butcherblock
9. (Optional) Return to Savlil in Butcherblock
10. (Optional) Give Savil the 3 quest items

*note several NPC humans labelled as followers of Quellious (lt blue to 68) are roaming around before and up until the killing of the priest zonewide shout. We didn't attack any of them, and they were indifferent to our Necro (the only evil char we had). Don't think you are supposed to kill any of them, and not sure if you are penalized if you do :).

Pretty simple and easy quest for nice xp at 68 (got about 12-15% actual xp from one run thru), but need a good group, some form of CC for adds, healer, slower and a good puller, as the yard hosts a load of roaming mobs all conning from Dblue to yellow (lvl varies according to average of group).

Group consisted of 68PAL, 65PAL, 70DRU, 70NEC, 65SHM, 65ROG (group ave lv67). Single pull as much as poss, ALWAYS pull to a wall to avoid adds. We had nice DPS with the necro and pallies, but the adds can be a pain (they were immune to our necro's slow and mezz).

Garanel Rucksif conned red to 68 (ie: >lv70), and dropped like a sack of potatoes. Think he hit alot in the 2-500s and maxxed somewhere from 8-900s with 1800AC and basic defensives at 68. Didnt even have to waste Defensive disc on him, he dropped so fast. Estimate his HPs somewhere around 55-60k(hit him for 2% with 1100DD), pretty weak for a 71+ mob. DPS him down ftw.

Chest pops immediately upon killing him, and ours also contained the FT2 "Cloak of the Fallen Priest" listed in posts below. E-mailing pic of the clock to alla along with this post. It was nice of SoE to give some kinda high end undead back to the Knights, Clerics and Necros :)

Anyone that can solo the Skeletal excavators please do...keep killing them until you spawn "A Skeletal Foreman" kill him and Sir Ariam Arcanum will pop on his corpse (he's hard to see because he basicly looks like an Enchanter's pet...can only see his weapon) hail him, it may take like 10 hails but he DOES respond...then

/say I sense a deep pain within you, ghost. Is there some way I might assist you so that you may find eternal rest?

then

/say I will perform any task that will cleanse this place.

pay attention to the names he mentions! you'll need them soon. Next part depends on if your kos in freeport or neriak...(if u can go to freeport

/say I will take it to the Knights of Truth.

if you can only go to neriak

/say I will take it to the Dead.

he will then give you a note (if your faction is high enough) and a bridle that is lore, nodrop, norent that has a 1 charge of summon: horse (the regular 9k one)...you get the bridle no matter what...if you use the bridle it disappears..if you take it to the whoever he mentioned, Sir Artanis in freeport or the queen in neriak, you get pretty much the same item back but it is just nodrop...aka not lore so u can get as many as u want and its no longer norent....

Unrest XP is a similar level to Paludal, mobs don't seem to hit as hard or have as many hit points, and it's an easier zone to solo. What does make it less useful is the long run from PoK, and the inability to support many people of a similar level, at least if they're even moderately twinked... last night two of us were keeping the whole of the area outside the house clear and running out of mobs to kill.

Went back there at level 50 with my mage last night to get the epic page drop from the basement: with my cute little werebat pet (Monster Summoning II, 3k-ish hit points, 43-ish point damage shield) it was just slaughter. Even the hugely underconned Battlemaster only did 7% damage to the pet before dying.

Do you know the true story behind Ruksif? I do. Here is the tale...

Long ago, A cleric of Quellious brought his family to the shores of Faydwer hoping to bring the knowlage of Quellious to the beings of Faydwer. In doing so he made a great mansion for his family.

Meanwhile...An insane dwarf was escaping from the Kalidim jail when he went across sea and stumbled upon the cleric's estate. He went in to torture the entire family forever.

Quellious was so angered by this offence especially in a chapel dedicated to her that she lost her temper and struck him down- domming him to walk the halls of the cursed estate forever.

Now you know all about this feat. Email me and I'll give you more stories about NPCs.

Aye, first time our grp (6 characters L18 to 24) found him he pasted 4 characters with no troubl at all, we all thought he was like between L24 and 30. No way did we think L20 as credible.
The next time we had another group, our stupid monk went off exploring and came back to us unannouced with Toklar and some 'friends', our highest Level player (L24 Cleric) shouted 'OOM Run!' and for some strange reason only he and I did. The rest conned Tokko and believed they could take him and his retinue without heals or undead nukes. We went back to rez all 4 of them 2 minutes later.

shocked you took him at 26, you must be twinked. Duo'd him 30+ and could probably solo him then too, but in a straight fight ive seen him eat a lvl 40 warrior. He seems very similar to garanel in hps/dps but saves about 15 lvls lower

You need to go inside the mansion eventually. There are 4+ levels in there, 20's on main floor, slightly higher on 3rd and 4th. Highest levels in basement behind a false wall.

I brink all my twinks here for powerleveling. Slap some hp, str, regen, and a damage shield from my druid, then have then pull the whole yard. Mobs self destruct on the damage shield, and all a character has to do is hit each mob once.

Paludal caverns is better xp, but this zone is more interesting.
new stuff for this zone
# Aug 09 2003 at 10:04 PM Rating: Default
i think there should be more stuff for this zone. such as tentacle tormentors (low level) carnivorus plants, possessed ghosts, Banshees, fetid mummies, a hungry ghoul, a horror construct (low level), shimian stalkers, frightening bettles, Darkening skeletons, horrors, banished demons, a revitalized hand, ghoulish hags, more traps, and to top it all off King tut. put a stone in the middle of the house so that when you click it King tut his pet and the horror construct will pop up. pretty nifty huh? well think about this and see if you approve. :)

Wow, you have some awesome ideas there, you must have really given this some thought. I am sure Sony could use someone like you on their development team. Maybe you should apply for the position.

Then you should go out and get a life.

The keys that drop in Unrest is for doors that once where locked, all doors are now open in unrest but the keys are still there.

Soloign as a cleric at lvl 11

Ok, I just wanna post a bit..
You can solo here easily as a cleric from lvl 11, untwinked but buffed.... I can easily get buffs atr Xev server and Brell Serilis Server, I got here with SoW, C3, Skin Like Nature and Chloroplast, I got PoTG from a passign druid after fightign a few.. I soloed NPCs from yellow to well.. um... no other cons at this lvl lol, Here is the strategy I used...
1) Find a mob
2) If grouped with another mob soothe if not continue to step 3
3) Pull the mob with Ward undead
4) Root the mob
5) Nuke 2X
6) repeat steps 4 and 5 until dead
7) loot, heal self and look at the exp you got

There is a new Shaman shield quest(lo level) that requires a "chunk of refined metal" that apparently drops in unrest off an un-disclosed mob. If anyone is hunting Unrest and sees this drop could you please post it on this forum, you would be helping quite a few people and i have been unable to find one yet.

I have seen the chunks of unrefined metal drop off the various ghouls, as well. Just kill everything you come across until one drops.

I have soloed here at lvl 10 and got killed a couple of times, so I took a break and came back at lvl 12. Now, (touch wood){Ed. Onlookers see a Ranger stop typing and pats his head a few times) I haven't been killed and am at 16.

You can solo here if you are careful. STAY out of the building and always con. Use snare and kite back to the entry tunnel, using the long passage as a targetting range. Use flame lick just before melee starts. If you pull more than one, run for the zone.

Use your Skin like Wood on yourself. When you get root use this AFTER you snare them and they have followed you to the entrance. You should be getting crits on your bow by now, so use the bow as much as possible. This will mean carrying two or three (or more) quivers of arrows, depending on how long you want to stay.

Take it easy on the way to Unrest through DC as the drops off some of the cliffs can sap 40% or more of your hp. Best to travel through here during daylight.

Big tip, Stay in the yard and use the maze to escape to the zone, as this can throw off the mobs, when you get trains.

Best of all, get a friendly high lvl cleric to buff you with Temperance as the extra hp mean you can stay longer and even take on trains of two or three mobs.

Stay in Crushbone till 16. Unreset really isnt a good idea for someone your age. I would only recomend this place to a paladin, cleric, and maybe a druid at your age. I say this because two of these classes can cast invis v undead and the other can sow and run away. Trains here are vicious i still hate this place because it is VERY easy to die. All you have to do is walk into a room and everything that is on the floor will agro you and the wont be nice.

Well I get extremly bored playing chars past 55. so of course I naturally twink atoon and well here's my 2 cents on how to get from lvl 1-35 in just a week or so. Ok Frist off if your charecter is a Good race/class head to Misty Thicket ( halflings n00b zone its the best and easyist to learn thanks to the wall) fight there untill lvl 5-7 depending on how twinked and if melee or caster if a meele and fairly twinked go to CB untill bout lvl 12/13 as a caster stay in MT till bout 8 / 9 depending on wis or int caster. then after CB head to unrest for easy solos till bout 16ish yes the trains can be hell but go past the mazes to the sides of the house and kill beetles and tormented Id wait untill 13/14 to try the skeleyes and Jack o's then once your lvl 16/17 head off to paludal caverns till bout 22/24 then head to High keep. best exp and loot by far in the game IMO if your a melee camp Osargon and the bard chick by the zone the guards will NOT aggro you for this. Once ( as melee) you make lvl 26 (or if your a INT caster w/ pet ) Kill guards yes you take faction hits but it may say Qey and FP my iksar got to dub with HK now he's killed way over mils of guards and hes DUB to FP and Qey just KOS in Hk so no worrys there and the guards are awesome exp. theloot its bout 2-7 p and a FS SS every time. Hope this helps Peace

Not to dis you or anything but the maze isnt a "safe zone". Trains here are deadly and because of this any respectable toons should make a train hot button to warn everyone to move. When you see this go on MOVE. There is really only one option in event of a train zone. Dont fight unless you are mid 30s and simply moving outta its way is no garrentee just zone you wont die NEARLY as many times.

You zoned low on hit points, the game thought you'd died, suddenly realised you hadn't, and moved you to the safe point for the zone; it's a known bug which happens when you zone with less hit points than the total from any +HP and +STA items you're carrying... which some people exploit to remove harmful spell effects because the game also deletes any active effects when this happens, be they a beneficial buff or a harmful DoT.
RE: wierd
# Mar 09 2003 at 4:11 PM Rating: Decent
Aye zoning on low hit points is a "If i dont ill die" desision because you loose all buffs and you can be very sad. I have lost really convientant buffs like KEI that way.

In a recent patch message they have said they have fixed this issue, however, I have not tested it to find out. I did find it so handy when my characters in CB would zone out, almost dead, and pop at my bind point in Kelethin by the bank. I usually took the opportunity to offload loot between merchants and the bank :-)

I have run into those also.

When fighting thest things in the basement "Ghost Room", make sure you keep your back AWAY from the opening to the pit (in otherwords, keep the DT/TT between you and the opening.

Being blown into the pit and having 4 other mobs argo you is very bad.

Also, I try to stun these guys early and often.

Its a little thing called pathing. When mobs here are aggroed and give chase, they path in a given direction toward you not directly at you. When this occurs, they are passing through other mobs aggro radius resulting in a type of domino effect generating a train for you to pull to the zone. This is done purposely. So when pulling here ensure you stay close enough to the mob you are pulling to prevent him from taking a little walk before he comes to you.

As a 19 Cleric I decided to zone to Dagnor's and camp. There were 2 goblins, 1 Aqua Lord and the other was an Aqua Bosun (not sure of spelling). There was 1 Dwarf on each of the aqua's. I kept healing the Dwarf's and enjoyed the fight. We sat and mena'd up for a bit when all of a sudden an Aqua Lord popped where the previous one died and the 3 of us grouped and took it out. Very strange to see so many aqua's following characters so far in to the tunnel leading to Unrest and even more strange was having one pop right there in front of us. Just a warning that when you zone out of Unrest be aware that you may zone in to a fight on the other end.

Lots of trains in here
# Sep 09 2002 at 9:55 AM Rating: Default
Lots of trains to the zone from inside the house. It can get real hairy but always an opportunity to take out a higher level mob that has less health than it should. I was able to take out a dark bonned skel that conned yellow to my 18 Cleric because it was low on health.

I had only heard about the trains in unrest. 2 friends of mine visited the place and couldn't get threw the tunnel. so i decided to never go there. well i am a level 24 necro hunting tidqal lords around the culdren and decided to hunt unrest. man is this place great. One second you have the room under control the next your over whelmed. I have almost level from 24 to 25 in one day. Not bad. the place is a great place to hunt if you are in a good group. i was with a level 24 necro me a level 24 necro and a 27 cleric. we handleled the room pretty good. we were in the room off the side of the house with the deck. i think only 2 trains for 4 hours of work. loot is good money is good. plus i made 2 good friernds that day. i told my other friends if you want to hunt with me you have to hunt in unrest. now i havent really explored the house yet. hope to this weekend.
