With the Rongol Halloween tasks (also added 2008), he hints at a Witch that asked him for a Jade Bowl.
I have not been able to destermine a recipe for a Jade Bowl...
This appears to be a tradeskill quest. It also appears she is supposed to give you something, like a recipe or hint book (by her text), but she doesn't give you anything.
Then again, it may be a collect quest, as she hints that SHE needs certain items that can only be collected "on these nights" (I suppose during the Halloween events).
(She is located under the Bridge to N. Karana.)

Also -- Bamrih Tyco is also standing there with Cikdew.
She keeps changing him into a frog, after being annoyed by his presence )she emotes).

I am not sure how this is related to her task or if it is just a "fun" sidetrack.

I don't know if this is the correct place to post or not, but during the 10th celebration of EQ, the Avatar of Karana spawned in South Karana, mostly east of the Quillmane spawn point, not far from the eastern border of the zone. He looks exactly like the post of Karana in BoT. Anyway, he's currently giving out a quest that will increase fear and respect for him on Norrath.
saw these in South Karana after a zone wide emote that said something along the lines the aviaks were tired of being whopped on and that they were going to do somthing about it. Saw 4 or 5 of these Aviak Avenger mobs around the Aviak villiage in north end of south karana. no one was there killing aviaks. not sure what triggered emote there were only 2 of us in the zone. Oh yeah they attack me when I got near them. low level 25ish.

I have read a great deal of the threads lately especially about SK and be aware that the Splitpaws have come out of the Lair and are roaming freely in the Zone so it is not as safe passing through as most people might believe
As of the date of this posting, this is one of the newer monster missions. You'll need to find a gnollish zealot, who is just east of the bridge by the river on the north side of the zone. Walk through the text trigger words and get the mission; then you will be transported to Splitpaw Lair.
As a level 70 gnoll, you'll get to be either a cleric, enchanter, warrior, or magician. Our group tried a couple of different combinations but finally succeeded with 2 clerics, 2 warriors, 1 enchanter, and 1 mage.
We didn't do anything fancy, but just plucked away at elementals one by one until the mission is done. We saw no respawns during our mission. It'll help to have a group member with a decent knowledge of the zone or at least a map. The two main areas you have to reach are the prison cells and the location of your ultimate target - Farsoth Mal. To find Farsoth Mal, you'll need to cross two bridges, veer left at the fork after the second bridge, and look to the big room on the right. Farsoth Mal is in the center. After taking him down, the chest will spawn in the center along with the gnome who will teleport you out.
Some difficulties we had were bad mob pathing near the first bridge that caused us several wipes and lots of downtime. I wouldn't recommend fighting on this bridge because you'll get adds from below and get wiped. Another difficulty we had was that some people didn't get experience after completing the mission, but after hailing the gnollish zealot back in SK and zoning out to another zone, we got our experience.
Here's what came from the chest:

Just a run in with Aviak Avengers. Was killing Aviaks in SK at the Village and saw a message that the Villagers were tired of the attacks and were sending in their best Warriors to defend the Village. Saw about 4 before one saw me and agroed. Hit me once for 81HP as I was running with SoW for Lake Rathe zone. Killed my pet very quickly and I didnt stop to check out how many were after me. They conned Red to Lev 26 Mage
ran into 'a teir`dal scout' today while looking for Quillmane... he was invised and didn't respond to hails... drk blue to a 67 I barely had time to gate with my pet intact... he had only dropped to 90%
New mob - Proud Stallion. Saw him on 3/5/05. Looks like a PC mount with a saddle on him. Ran around b/t Aviaks and Splitpaw. Was red to my 11th Shaman so no idea of his level.

I just found this fellow (Kurrpok Splitpaw) OUTSIDE Splitpaw lair which is not where he is supposed to be. He was running around in South Karana a bit to the east from the entry to Splitpaw and a little north of the Hermit's hut. He had the courtesy to drop the Ruby Pendant.
I'm not sure if this change is in preparation for the upcoming Splitpaw revamp or not. (As I write this the revamp has already taken place on the Legends server and has yet to arrive on the other live servers.)
Having spent a great deal of time in South Karana over the years I can honestly say that this is the first time I can recall having encouontered Kurrpok there.
Interestingly enough I also found the werewolf running around the zone at the same time as Sentry Alechin. (I had both on track at the same time.) That's the first time I have ever seen that happen, too. I think they are playing with the SK spawn tables.
I checked to see if he was still spawning inside Splitpaw. He is. So far.
was leaving paw tonight when i get a zone message "skeleton lord shouts you have 2 mins to leave this zone and live , or stay and die. and sure enuff a db skelly with a sword ran up and killed me before i could get my ranger to the zone line .
Skeleton Lord, a shadow knight, LB to a level 63. Took him out today with my 65 Necromancer, he was definately played by a GM. Kept trying to get behind me, resisted spells with a messgae stating "This spell cannot affect target PC". lol he seemed reluctant to spawn with me waiting for him, gave emote: "Skeleton Lord mourn" hehe.
Upon death his corpse conned as a player's (with rez timer) a few SK only items of limited value.
Fun, but very very odd...
-Scarlette Babylon 65 Necromancer Tholluxe Paells
btw...he chased my 63 druid and 51 pally friend out of zone due to a very high regen that was too much for their dps.

Few weeks ago was camping QM for a mage, and all of a sudden theres a shout "The hermit shall be hurt no more" or around like that, and 3 druids popped up. Now I guess either something I've never seen or GM event, because earlier, 3 GMs were in the zone, and when I moved out of spell range druids ducked to interrupt casting. There was also a guide popping in and out of invis near hermit hut... All were lb to 45ish, and when I shouted "I will protect the hermit" they didn't attack...and I and some buds killed him, one dropped Charred Guardian Shield, Blackened Ebony mace (or something along those lines) and something else I can't remember. After that nothing special...apparently the shout about the hermit was heard in PoK too
HeHe um, new TOUGH mob here. Sir Telian Mottsworth Conned red at 63 killed my DB charmed pet quicker then i could cast tash, ate my mage friends pet and we proceeded to book it to zoneline. He casts a fear and stun type thing with a HUGE range, ran all the way from splitpaw to NK ZL with him in tail, turned around to see if he still there, nowhere in sight but he still stunnin me!! hehe was fun while it lasted, maybe part of OoW expansion? Anyone up for a GOOD challenge should visit this guy. BTW he a roamer
Was sitting pulling the gnolls at the spires last night and a named aviak came and hailed me. Surprised I hailed him back and he said "So you have found me." Replied "Yes I have found you." and it gave me a cheesy crafted ring. +7agi. Then said "I change forms now, try to find me before the time is up." Then it disappeared. Had a druid with me and we searched all over SK and found nothing :( Never thought to kill the aviak. Doh.
Ran into this new mob yesterday, there were 3 of them spawned near a treehouse by aviak village. One of the 3 dropped an "Aviak Avenger Charm". Sorry didn't write down the stats but it was droppable, had like 5 ac 4 or 5 to a few stats, pretty good item for south karana. Theres a quest for warrior crafted armor using a normal aviak charm that drops off avocets so next time I am in the zone I'll go ask the centaurs about it /shrug. Yeah they hit pretty hard, killed my 53 druid but wasn't paying attention since they were green. spawned about 6 avenger darters after dropping the avengers.
I also met an Avenger today. I had just zoned in from Lake Rathetear when the message came up about the Aviaks sending their best fighters to take back their home (11pm game time). I went to the village to see what was happening and saw a single Avenger wandering down from the top of the Aviak tree. Waited for him to get down to ground level and killed him easily enough (would hope so being level 57 - conned green) though as everyone else has posted here they are quite a bit tougher than Avocets. The Aviak Avenger Charm dropped (also has 5dex to the other stats listed below). When I killed it, 2 Aviak Darters immediately spawned, so I killed them as well - nothing special dropped.
I turned back round to look back at the Aviak tree to see about a dozen other Aviaks making their way down to ground level. No other Avengers in this lot, just a mix Avocets, Harriers, Rooks, Darters and Egrets. They didn't attack me at all, they just ran off into the surrounding area.
I didn't see any other Avengers and at 4am game time there was a message saying 'The Aviaks are satisfied for the moment, but are watching all visitors carefully'.
Checked with the centaur crafted armor npcs, they don't know anything about the aviak avenger charm. Here are it's stats tho: slot neck, ac5 4wis 4int 5agi 15hp 15mana 15end 5svcold rec lvl 25 ALL/ALL. not sure how to post picture sorry.
I ran into this guy looking for undead cyclops for brewing on my main. Conned dark blue to my 41 ranger hits harder than advos doubles for 100. Arrow kited him a bit then melee for kill. Two darter avengers popped from corpse both con green. Dropped a bronze short sword a pearl and rune of helix for my troubles.
Saw these spawn last night (4/22) around 8pm EST. I think it was about 3AM in-game. They spawned after a zone message saying how the aviaks were tired of the merciless slaughter of their village and were calling on their best warriors for protection- or something like that. I then saw a few avengers pop up on track and left the zone. They conned red to a 28.
And in case this matters, the message about the aviaks and the avengers came up after I had been camping the aviak village for about 2 rw hours so I'm not sure if it's triggered by something like that or what.
I can confirm this, I just saw The Fabled Coloth Meadowgreen today (4/11/04) just east of the Aviak Village. I took a screenshot and have sent it in to Allakhazam. I got him down to 40%, but I couldn't kill him and was forced to gate, therefore I don't have a screenshot of the bow he drops.
hello I am looking for help finding quilmane or a mq I have been looking for him on tunare server for a long time and now after 3 years he is the last part left of my epic and If you know a spawn point or anything please look me up or e-mail me please mistique@ncguild.com thank you so much for any help anyone can provide
Why does Brother Q ask if you wish the sash returned if you do want it he states what was earned or the robe will be returned so at what point is the robe offered to be returned and what robe does he speak of the RoLC or the RoWF
Hullows a magician here called Xanaphia. I would like to buy the cloak from Quillmane for a MQ. "Pegasus feather cloak" I play on the Kane Bayle server. Send me a tell in game, if u have the cloak and would like to MQ it with me.
Xanaphia Ithilgil 58th Magician of Tunare Kane Bayle-server
Was grouped at one of the spires last night when I just happened to turn around and saw a giant skeleton coming towards us. When it got close it was huge (hill giant size) and wasn't a named skeleton, although I don't remember the exact term but skeleton was in the title.
Anyway he was a scary red to this 25 Druid and almost made menced-meat out of our group (we had just a long session of pulls and we low on health anyways).
I don't see this skeleton on the list- does anyone know anything about it?
Sir Nandruar and the Undead Cyclop have the giant skeleton form in S.K., never saw anything giant sized will the term skeleton in the name in all my time hunting Quillmane for mage epic...
After killing escaped Splitpaw gnolls I saw 'A Werewolf' on track. It was light blue to a level 46 Ranger, and fairly easy fight. Dropped 'A Locket' NO DROP item; no idea what it is for.. yet.
Well well! Just after I kill it another one is on track :) dropped the same 'A Locket'
After I killed this 2nd werewolf 'a cyclops' is on track..
The werewolf is for the Paladin Armor of Ro quests. You turn the locket in to Paladins on a hill in the Rathe Mts. They give you a mold for a piece of Ro Armor
Looks as if the look for these birds has been tweeked a bit. This place has been good for moderate cash to begin with but now the birds drop more jewelry and plat. Out of 2 Avocates and 3 Rooks, I made a total of 31 plat. So for the nexted 30 min I pickpocketed all of them and I raked in another 20 plat in about 10 min. At 31 these are fast becoming too easy for me to solo and I'm about ready to hit the Spires but its nice to know that after VI has nerfed most of the plat fountains, they were nice enough to give us a boost here.
Hey guys... my 27 ranger (Altari) is looking for a place to solo. Where in the Karana's would be a place where I could fear kite animals while getting decent loot? I was thinking the Aviaks... are they animals that I can fear? And are they good exp for a 27? Thanks

BAH- I guess that if it says monster to the right of the mob's name, its not an animal, eh? :P So all the ones that say Animal next to their names... well, are animals that Animal Fears will work on? None of the monsters?

Aviaks are definately not animals - I tried the panic animal spell on them to no avail) But they are pretty easy to solo, even if they con white. Just snare and dot em and bash them. Just remember to pull them away from the other aviaks, because although they won't aggro on you in general, they are social and will run to help each other if they are near enough. #
Been soloing Aviak since early 20's, and still getting some xp from them at 31!
Zrithsadioun is NASTY. Had the misfortune of meeting him this evening. He looks like an undead reaver from EK. Just what we needed, a lvl50 mob running around in a nice mid lvl zone
In my vast 2 month's experience (lol) I have to say that this is downright mean spirited to have this Zrithsadioun character in this zone all together. Will these people not be happy until every low lvl character is skirting each zone line blasting spells at whatever mob that chances by every 10 minutes, with their backs turned so they can make a break for the only safety available to them. I know that groups are the key, and teamwork is necessary, but when your only option is to make a dash halfway into a zone to retrieve your corpse, what good is it when a simple Lion gives chase and you turn to give it a quick root to allocate a little time on your side, only to be blasted for 500 pts dmg (3/5 of that is your actual HP), by god know's what cause you didn't even have time to see the blasted thing?
Someone please post a picture of this crud licker so I can atleast put an image to my rage.
If you see my post on the Silver Griffin, I'd swear it's the exact same scenario, just a bunch of P.O.'d GM's keeping the man from makin' it big! "Somethin' just don't feel right here GM Bob." "Well me O' my GM Neal, what ever are you meanin'? "Well...there just seems to be too many people of the same lvl in here who happen to be killin' all our loved one's and makin' it out alive with all there equipment and then some!" "Well ya know, I just had Panteras runnin' from ol' Silvy here like a greased up hog on your birthday. He's going from North K. to South K. and by gum he's gonna make it alive!" "Reckon there's nothin' we can do 'bout that now GM Bob." "Reckon so GM Neal, but I bet you we can fire up that there Zrith... Zrithsa... Szrith-sad... just go get that mean hittin', non-dying whatcha-ma-call it thing and fry his sorry behind! This time make sure he don't make it out of this one." a vanbulger corpse says "What am I doing talking, I'm a corpse for crying outloud!"
While the sword for this quest is very nice, it seems to me that VI made a mistake in placement of this mob.
I ran into while running to NK with a friends 57 Ranger. I almost didn't make it. He chewed through 2khp fairly quickly, and if I hadn't been quick on the fearless disc I'd have been toast for sure.
So I'm going to agree with Dinothudd, seems down right mean to put this guy in a 20 to 30 level zone.
Ran across this guy the other night, was green to my 25 ranger. Very easy kill, didn't cast. Dropped "severed tierdal hand(s)" Any idea what quest they are used for?
What is the purpose to the 3 undead rallying cries. There is one for undead then 2 minutes later one for wraiths, then 2 minutes later another one. This is a zone wide speech so everyone hears it no matter where you are in the zone you'll hear it eventually at night. It only happens about once a game week and no one seems to know why.
Is it a sign that the undead Cyclops is going to appear or the dead lord at the camp? Or just trying to make those new to the zone wet themselves in blind terror
What ever it is don't freak ...well unless your somewhere near the undead zones cause something might happen but I'm always clear of those mana wastes so I dont know, stupid zombies

Saurion, what your seeing is someone trying to complete the Qeynos Badge of Honor quest. The part the SK zone plays into it is the Interregator's Badage part. The person doing the quest has a perform a series of tasks next to the Hermits hunt and after the two Shadow Knights spawn next to the ruined Druid rings just south of the Hermits, you will see a bunch of Zone shouts. The wraiths and the skeletons if not killed off will start to spawn more until either killed or despawned 30 minutes later.
If you see a zone shout again regarding Theodore and/or some Shadow Knights and their pets.. just ignore it or run over to the Hermits and help the person trying to complete the quest out.
Got curious about this guy after reading all of these posts. Everyone in zone said he whipes out full groups. No false machismo here at all, he was a thug, but he went down with 49 SK, my 52 warrior, 54 druid and 49 Shammy without much trouble... can't snare or root him and can't fear him, but he is not too hard to tank. Once he is done casting on you, he hits in the mid 100's to low 200's and his pet hits in the 50 to 90 range. He has some nasty DOT's and will dispell your buffs with a quickness. I would suggest some dummy buffs and a well planned group and you should not have a great deal of problem with him. He should not be underestimated, he will do some damage... and for you tanks out there, be prepared... He is one ugly sucker and you are gonna be right in his Madeye Moody grill :0) My warrior hit up fearless discipline and got a good taunt on him and then SK attacked from behind. This guy has a ton of HP so be ready to battle for a bit. Best of luck and hope this helps. Other posts seem to clear up what the note is for. Used for Ranger epic to my knowledge. Thanks to Ellayne, Maltta and Ingamar for their expertise and mighty warfare in this battle.

Running thru SK last night helping my Mage Guildie hunt quillmare, we came across a werewolf who dropped a locket. No info on a WW in this zone or the locket that was dropped. Anyone else seen these or know what the locket is for? Any info would be helpful.
It appears he's only shown up in the past week and hangs out around the neg500-1000, neg6000-7000 area and no one I've spoke to knows what the locket is for.
If your under 25 stay away from that area at night cause he roams far and is very fast and you can't see that dark pelt until it's too late.
Maybe that were is from NK moved south and got big and strong off the chickens

I being a 51 bard, got wind of this named gnoll kicking my druid guildmates ass while she was hunting in SK. well, I thought, SK mobs are easy so I'll come over to finish it off. Low and behold, Zithsarious wiped the floor with me. I was rooted, double dotted and then nuked for 500hp to finish me off. I came back with a 60 wizzy with mana burn (didn't use it btw) an a ranger and druid that were in their 40s to help out. I chant kited hoping to pull it and agro while the wizzy, ranger druid attacked it. Well, Zrith doesn't wanna agro. he just casts a spell and continues on his merry way. NOT cool. He;s got a tad over 20K in hp cause our wizzy was nuking for 4400 each time but only a bubble would go down.. max. Needless to say.. after we were mana spent. He continued to wander off like nothing happend and we just sat there trying to recruit more. we eventually gave up but damnit.... I will have my revenge for killing me /grrrrrrr
The Ancient Cyclops can indeed spawn in SK. It is part of a spawn cycle but is a friggin unbelivable rare spawn. The past week ive been lvleing 2 chars from 24 to 34 (Chanter and Wizard) with gnolls at spires (Yes, its cutaly good xp all the way as you at 24 get uber XP from one kill, and at 30+ can kill 4 gnolls fast) at the Hill camp. this is north of the north spire and includes the static spawn on the hill. What makes tis camp so great is the fact that you get many more runners here and that the fear path of the mobs is up to the hill, over the pawn entrance then they turn around and start to run back. Out of aggro range of any other mobs.
Every once in a while a mob will com up from behind you (from the north) and go over the paw entrance then continue to the bird house. This mob can be either an elephant, treant, gnoll (from old Splitpaw), escaped gnoll, any kind of aviak, centaur, Undead cyclops or as a rare spawn a cryclops and then the uber rare ancient cyclops. I am not sure if Sentry Alechin is a part of this cycle, he follows the same route, but I belive he is not in the cycle. Quill does NOT follow this path. So basicly all you need to do is camp Hill for ages and kill every mob that follows the route, then hope that somone doesnt kill the AC before it reaches Paw. I dont know where this cycle start nor where it ends or if it ends at all if the mob is not killed.
The version of the Ac is the same as the one found in Sro (low lvl, 30ish) but to be frank, you will have a better chanse at getting him in OOT. The Sk one is RARE. Rarer than Quill... its so rare that it is the deffinition of the term rare.
After one week almost non stop at the Hill camp I got an AC, killed it, got a ring and now My 34 Wiz have his jboots
poor hermit never gets any respect, he's just trying to live in exile all by himself (presumably doing "naughty" things LOL) and her comes everybody and their mother knockin on the door yellin "I KILL YOU FOOL!" or the like and BWAM!! poor hermit hits the ground dead LOL!! okay, now that my sentimentality about the Hermit is done KILL AWAY!!! Well, funny story. Me, 57 cleric and my 57 druid buddy were going to undead camp late one night to get his faction up for Qeynos Badge 5. Well, we come across Zrithsadioun and his pet, as well as Sir Nandruar. I had never seen these guys before, been through SK many times. Well, since they both undead, I was curious as hell. Had druid follow the gnoll and I followed Sir, but then druid's hp went down fast, so I went to help him. We found out early on he was unsnarable/rootable. On top of that, my undead spells wouldn't work even though he looked undead. I told him to start evac, but then can you believe Sir Nandruar started fear kiting the gnoll! I thought maybe by some small chance it was a GM event, so we helped chase the gnoll down and we layed into him with what we could. By some crazy twist of Fate, WE got the kill. Didn't know what the Voice of Karana was for, but seeing that it was Rng only, I knew was for Silver Blade of Thunder quest. So, luckily, a 35th lvl Halfling ranger was in zone and we called him over. He was sure happy, and had it not been for Sir Nandruar, we probably would've died. Imagine my suprise when I found out he too was for a Jaggedpin Karana quest :p
Dont quote me. but I dont believe Sir Nan agros. I have been sitting when we walked right by several times.... so he must be opposing to others in zone. Like once on my ranger I believe? I was fighting a mob and a bear jumped in to help me. Not like the Kodiak fight the dervs in west common... but like out in the middle of the karana's, I think a non agro mob? too bad Aimiable doesnt make em do that.
i personaly think wolves and bears, should leave the druid be when charm breaks.... they are after all our friends.
My guild dropped him last weekend. We tried first with one group of various level 50's, but he smoked us. So we added another group of 50's including a 55 MA. He went down, although not that quickly. One of our rangers got the scroll. Fun fight, he seems to be a much smarter mob than most. That made it quite exciting.
This named gnoll is a Necro and is roughly lvl 50, all he drops is a part for the new Jaggedpine 1hs sword (Ranger,Bard,Rogue..Karana only) so if you see this guy don't try to bother with him unless your trying for the quest he is a once a day spawn so people trying to do the quest have hard enough time getting him.(like me this is last part I'm needing)
