Just found a new NPC involved with the "Staff of Elemental Flux" quest named Alchemist Bauer.
This quest mob aggroed upon HAIL if you are a wizard working on the quest above. If you are NOT working on the quest above, and you hail him, he talks about his missing wife Leesa, who is a Seeker in Temple of Solusek Ro. He needs [help] and by helping him, it results in a Shared Task named "Investigating a disappearance". This shared task is a raid encounter task, which results in:
Secrecy of Cazic-Thule was the first to complete it, server-wide. A GM showed up and watched the last fight.
The last fight consists of killing a HUGE efreeti model named "Furious Jailor" in Dreadlands. He quads for 4000, rampages, is slightly slowable and has a 4000-6000DD (random) proc called Jailor's Fury which is -200 MR. He also has a Single target spell he uses called "Knockback". Our tank resisted all of them. Thanks goes out to Umpy of Silent Redemption for helping us tank him.
There is also an NPC in the 'secret' tunnel in the south wall in West Freeport. I dont have the name atm (I didn't have logging on) but she is located near the PoK book. When you hail her she talks about Orcs and Goblins and Wayfarer Brotherhood but other than the reply after the first hail, I cant get anything else from her. I'll post more after my next visit (when I'll have switched logging on )
Ok not that it's really a good idea sometimes to walk around a city in wolf form if you do DO NOT go to the bottom floor, far corner of the White tower. There is a frogloc in there with a mad on for wolfies. He was soloable to me at 33, at the time, if I felt like kiting him around the merchants for a half hour wasting kei time since he heals well and I didn't have those nice DOTs I do now (plus the faction hits would hurt). Spent about 15 minutes and he kited well but as any heal caster, 1/2 strength and he takes a heal break. So if you have a good DOT and don't mind the hit.
Also if you do get into it with him I didn't train any others just him and the guards didn't help him either when I was running him around the lute & smithy shops. It was just after LOY came out so ths may have changed

Yes, you will be SLAUGHTERED unless you're of sufficient level to take on as many as seven human guards at once (this actually happened to me once). Just to tell you what I went through: I thought I was good enough at Level Eight to venture into Freeport to continue my Shaman's Quest. So, I sneak into the heart of Freeport via the tunnels, and as soon as I'm spotted, I'm mobbed by guards. I ran as fast as SoW could take me, but I got cornered and killed. So. Again, unless you can survive being mobbed by guards, and you know this for fact, stay away from Freeport. Heck, stay away from really any cities. :)

Another NPC which seldom appears in this zone is Guard Willia, a level 6 militia guard. Willia appears only when someone does the Test Of Truth quest, which yields a component for the Soulfire.
I am a dark elf warrior, and was wondering how can I raise faction with both west freeport and north freeport merchants? and whats the name of thier faction? I con dubious to the merchants in wfp and they won't sell to me. I haven't gone into nfp yet, I think I'm still kosed, not sure.I've been killing orcs for a while, so they may be dubious to me also. Someone said I have to do a quest in erudin to raise merchant faction, but I'd like some more info, thanks.
Hello questers! I have just been recently told by my friends that they have changed the spell: Resurrection from level 49 to level 14? It seems kind of wacky to give a low level such an awesome spell, is this true?? Please reply to my question!
At level 14 the spell you get is Reanimation it is like the other resurection spells but no xp is gained back when you bring someone back to life. I may be wrong on name but I think thats the proper name. GL hope this helps.
I can't think of her name of hand, but she stands in the middle of the room 1 floor down from the top floor of the Clerc/Paladin Guild.
She cons apprehensive to me but she says that "I don't like your actions against all that is good". Why would she say this when she cons apprehensive(and not dubious).
I also don't think I have killed anyone ot anything that would effect this. Apparently, I did at one time.

My first (and only) evil character is a dark elf shadowknight, and I knew there would be a many issues with faction when I created her. Here are some of my experiences with the various factions in Freeport. As a note, I now have access to nearly the entire city. Noteable exceptions include the clerics' guild (NFP) and the casters' guild (WFP).
Presently, I con apprehensive to the bard guild and Freeport Militia; indifferent to the monk guild; amiable to the fighter, rogue, necromancer and shadowknight; and, ironically, _fondly_ to the paladin guild.
Ain't Freeport a wacky city?
When you first enter Freeport, carefully approach the gates. When you can see the guards, /con them. I found them dubious to me initially, but don't let that fool you. The merchants (including Boomba) may still attack you.
What do you do, then? Well, as people online and offline will tell you: go to EC and kill orcs. Kill every passing orc pawn. Go to Orc 1 and Orc 2 and kill orcs until your eyes bleed. Then, when you've gotten them fixed again, kill some more. Kill until you know the family tree of every member of the Deathfist clan.
Just to be safe, kill some more orcs. Also, get as many DF belts you can. Save them, buy them, beat them out of your fellow group members... OK, maybe not that last one, but do get them and keep them. The more, the better.
Every once in a while, head back to Freeport to check your status with merchants. Ping Fuzzle-something in the tent outside the city gates is a good check. If he's dubious, you can probably head into town safely. Well, into East and West Freeport.
NOTE: Killing Orcs does NOT raise your Freeport Militia faction, at least that I've noticed. It raises Commons Residents (merchants in Commonlands), Ashen Order (monk guild in Freeport), Guardians of the Vale (halfing warrior guild) and the Knights of Truth (NFP guards/paladin guild).
If you've killed enough Orcs, you should be able to get into the Fighter guild to turn in the DF belts you've been collecting. Turn in a few at at time, then head out to /con the guards. You see, handing them into the fighter guild instead of the Militia, lowers your Militia faction. But hopefully not enough for them to drop you below dubious. Turning them into the fighter guild also raises your faction with the North Freeport guards (Knights of Truth).
So, after all this, you should be dubious or apprehensive with the Freeport Militia, apprehensive with the Fighter guild and, with enough belts, at least dubious with the Knights of Truth. Also, if you've killed enough orcs, you should be able to bank in NFP. (Yes!) I've noticed that although the banker /con's dubious, he'll still do buisness with me. Go figure.
I've been hunting orcs and doing the belts-to-fighter-guild thing long enough to get 'fondly' with the Knights of Truth, and have the main merchants (the first merchant inside the door) of inns in the Commonlands sell to me.
Now, how did I get the other factions up, you ask? Glad you asked! There are a pair of rogue guild quests from EFP that is very easy to run. AND, to top it off, they raise your faction with the rogue guild (which starts at apprehensive, I believe -- I am a darkie, after all), city merchants and the Freeport Militia. AND(!) there are no faction hits.
What are these quests? Well, Allakhazam is the place to find it, of course! But to save you the trouble, here are the two quests. They both start and end up in the same location in both EFP and WFP, so it makes sense to run them together.
I won't go into more detail, since the site does that. Run the quest numerous times. I'm at 'aimable' with the merchants in Freeport now, which makes it SO much easier to shop, do tradeskills (especially blacksmithing!) and get around.
I hope that helps those of you looking for some extra info. I don't make any guarantees about anything, since your circumstances will likely be different. This is just what I experienced as a dark elf shadowknight on The Nameless server.

My DE necro is only KOS in certain parts of Freeport. This Includes North Freeport, Casters Guild and the Monk Guild. My DE necro can go virtually anywhere else.
My DE enchanter can go to the Casters Guild without an illusion and cons dubious. Not KOS. Still KOS to the Monk Guild. I haven't tried North Freeport yet.
I am considering creating my first evil character, likely a gnome or DE necro. However, in considering the ramifications of the character, it is clear that I know very little about how difficult it is for evil races/classes to move around the "good" cities and zones. Thus, I am attempting to track down wisdom from others, both for particular zones as well as in general. My Freeport question (North and otherwise) is this: Do the guards KOS evil characters from the beginning. I understand that they are "corrupt," but have never really had to learn exactly what that meant. They have never outright attacked any of my good characters, though some /con to the negative side of the scale. I just want to know if -- and where -- I can pop my head up in Freeport and not have it handed to me by the local police. This sounds terribly newbie to me, but I really hope that you can offer me some solid tips. Thanks in advance and good hunting to you.
I was wodering if anyone can help me? I am at a lose. I am 33seasoned shadowknight and seems to find my shadowknight trainer not willing to train me anymore.. says actions spak louder than words and im no longer welcome.. what have i killed that would mess up my shadowkhight faction?? please tel me... and if you could .. tell me how in the heck do i fix it?
Anyone know how to raise faction with the cleric and paladin guild hall? I am a dwarf cleric and they all con aprrehensively to me.....how do i raise it?
you can raise faction with bith guilds by doing the sharkskin shield quest from the Paladins guild there. Also you may do the quest where you kill the pirrahnas in the pool around the Temple there. :)

Im a paladin and uh...I kill lots of npcs in town (i am only level 12, no guards yet!!!) but now guards consider me apprehensively. What does that mean? Is that a good thing or a bad thing?
Does anyone know how to increase faction with the guards in North Freeport that start with Sir? Or what faction they go off of? I seem to be KOS to them and am not sure where I screwed up at. Hehe
Does anyone have an info on the guard that is behind the locked door in the freeport bank. I saw some screenshots of it and it appears that the locked door in the freeport bank behind the bankers has a small cave with a Guard named Sir Drolfis.
if you want to see him lull the npc around you and then nuke inside the door. He should open the door and start attacking you. Im lvl 60 he does about 200dmg to me. so be prepared to fight. It may not work though. its a 1 in a 50 chance.
Con green to me and yes saw it in Jades second floor middle room...was campin at that time and conned green...I however dont attack everthing i see...it said a greater spirit glowers at you dubiously and in my view I dont hail things that are dubious...because they only need alittle more to attack...im a human bard...I do have screen shots if this site needs them...EMail me at Shagnasty_Rocks@Yahoo.com
A greater spirit is only there when a shamman has done part of his epic. When that Happens the GS will appear to work as a quest NPC,This Greater Spirit is part of Bondl Felligan's quest. This thing is ly im warning you all do not attack it, it cons like even to a lvl 4 and it casts a 5 dmg dd, but it bites for like 129, so trust me and leave it alone.
As a shaman belonging to the Tribunal I found it interesting to meet some Greater Spirits in which I could talk to. As they may con blue to a lvl 4 they hit for 200 points of damage. Also to be stated they are part of some quest I have not yet heard of. When Hailed the Spirit would tell me "You have not aided us enough. You must do more before you can help us in our campaign." Does anyone know about this??? Went through the entire zone quest list and beastiery lists and had no luck.
Yeah I found one too. I was sneaking with my lvl 8 Rogue for practice when I saw the message saying a greater spirit was casting a spell. I went to the furthest room of the top floor of the inn and saw it. I conned green so I figured I'd attack it and see if there was anything worth looting. It hit me for 115 and 120 damage each hit. But when I attacked it a glitch came up saying 'cannot read timetodie.txt'. I've seen the casting message for the greater spirit in other parts of North Freeport too, like next to the Pally guild. I snuck back to get my corpse and got several screen shots of it and the damage messages after it killed me. Anyone know when Greater Spirits showed up in FP or why they're there?
I was wandering the NFP tunnels Thursday and found this guy near one of the tunnel entrances. Said I couldn't do anything for him. He was spawned during the daytime-haven't gone back since.
Does anyone know the faction of the merchants in Freeport? There is not a "Merchants of Freeport" faction. As of right now I can't buy in Freeport. Being a High Elf this could lead to some problems with eventually being KOS in town and I don't want that. If anyone knows the faction please tell me.
There are all sorts of merchant factions in the Freeport area, but the most common ones are Coalition of Tradefolk and Coalition of Tradefolk Illegal. There are some quests starting in the rogues' guild in East Freeport that will raise both of these factions, as well as Freeport Militia and others. See:
Nice zone to practise various Tradeskills. I raises brewing, pottery and smithing in this zone while auctioning several items. The zone is usually very well crowded (because of the bank), so its quiet a good way to raise some skills then just sit around and wait for a customer in EC.
I think you have to con amiable. My half-elf bard can con indiff. and that's what he says, so maybe you can up your faction with the gnomes or something.
Looks like a new NPC in FP North. All I can say is he attacked a Human ShadowKnight. SK was 36, and Zigg was green to him. Was dubious to my Barb Shaman.
Zigg Flin is amiable to my 23rd magician gnome he cons yellow ..... i hail him and he says he cannot entrust me with this information yet any clues if hes part of a epic quest
Seems he doesn't like Shadow Knights. He attacks my DESK all the time. Red at 17 but he doesn't hit too hard, only around 16 damage or so. Plenty of time to escape. Though I don't know if he casts, never seen him do that. He hits constantly but he runs slow, can easily out run him without SoW.
Anyone know if he drops anything worth the fight? Or if he aggro's any other NPCs in the area into the fight?
I was also in North Freeport, after seeing this mysterious Zigg Flinn, when I went into last room upstairs in Jade Tiger's Den (green building near bank) and saw a greater spirit. He conned green to my level 8 cleric, but hit for a whopping 200 damage. He conned dubiously and would answer upon hailing. Also, when he is attacked, he says cannot open timetodie.txt file. I have a feeling he has something to do with shaman's epic quest... Any ideas?
other npc's don't aggro, but watch it trying to fight him, he has a super regen ability, he is a rogue BTW, I know because he followed me into bank, I didn't know he was kos when I ran by, and backstabbed me while I was banking for about 110damage. None of the guards helped him though, and the guards are all dubious to me.

Fact: His Con varies. My SK conned him at 20 one day and he was dark blue. Conned him at 22 and he was green. Conned him at 26 and he was dark blue.
Fact: He is S-L-O-W in the running department, but fast in the hitting department.
Fact: He doesnt hit for very much.... But he does get in a lucky 50 plus now and then.
I found this putrid little critter one day because my Sk stood outside that corner blue bldg waiting to do a trade for someone. Out he comes and starts hitting her... Messed up her hair and made her break a nail. She outran him to zone.
A Week later, she enters NFreep with 1 bubble of health after a bad fight... Zigg had not botherred her in since the first time. Almost at bank he catches her and kills her. O'course I was mad. Braught on my 45 Warrior and made very quick work of Zigg Flin. I do not re-call a faction hit... not saying there wasnt one, however.
So, to you SKs he may be an annoyance at upper levels, but at lower ones, he may be dangerous... and when he attacks he does so with no or very little warning.... Just dont stand in front of his bldg.
You forgot Valeron Dunshine, a Paladin GM in Hall of Truth (right next by the secret tunnel). Don't know his level (/con him red at level 42), and he gives the Paladin's Attestation quest.
On the server Mith. Marr, this zone, particularly in the area known as "Freeport Market", is the greatest place to auction and buy nearly anything in the game that is to be bought/sold. My charachter, however, is on Quellious server and decided to make the trip to Freeport to buy and sell. To my disappointment, there was 10 people there. TEN. That sucks. I think that this place should be the universal selling/buying place. Although this is a far run for most people (me included, being from Halas) I believe it would be worth it.
On Povar the main auction place is G Fay. You can get everything you want here. EC as a secondary auction place but mainly for lower level classes. If you are looking for a high end item or anything for that matter, G Fay is the place. Enough chatter to make you go deaf (or blind since you actually read it).
I can't wait for the Bazaar in Luclin to be activated. Maybe that will take over for G Fay.
On Solusek Ro, the biggest auction zone by far is Greater Faydark. Probably because it has a city/bank, a wizard portal, another adjacent city, and a druid portal in an adjacent zone. Occasionally, the zone has so many people that the server can't support them all and people get randomly kicked off (I've seen over 150 players before). It is the place to go to find a rare item.
Wow, I guess it differs from server to server. On my server, Tarew Marr, East Commonlands, as with the other person who replied, is the main buying/selling point. It's funny, I had always assumed it was East Commons everywhere. :)
On Quellious we use the tunnel in East Commonlands for our universal buying/selling point. On any given Sunday you will be able to find any item you need (almost), if the price is right.
Your suggestion is not logical.....It ignores transportation, religious, and faction issues which need to be eased in any 'market'. That logical spot is EC Tunnel, not even the room in the tunnel, or the Nro side. On Paells, as on every server the Bank in FP is a secondary market area due to the weight of coins needed in attempting to buy many, or big ticket items. If 100 coin is abot 7-8 stone, then 1k is appx 75 stone, for instance. Add that weight to your armor and items already carreid, and you plainly see the need to be able to get to either the FP, or Neriak banks. HOWEVER, the centralized point of the EC Tunnel relative to these tw obanks, which serve all dark and light races, again stresses the value of the EC Tunnel. So, keep trying, the game does not have all the good ideas included yet.
