I don't know the level of the mob, not having encountered it myself yet, but it drops this item:
Stone of Light Magic Item Lore Item No Trade Augmentation This Augmentation fits in slot type: 7 HP: +50 Mana: +50 Endurance: +50 Restrictions - Slot: Ear Head Face Neck SHoulders Arms Back Wrist Range Hands Fingers Chest Legs Feet Waist Recommended level of 65. Required level of 60. Class: All Race: All
Item Information: You must use the solvent Class XIV AUgmentation Distiller to remove this augment safely.
This thing can spawn off of any trash mob as far as I can tell. It takes the form of the person who has its agro (if your a froglok, its going to look like a froglok, dressed the same as you). It always drops the augment and I would say its an uncommon spawn, maybe once an hour (not bad for a guaranteed drop). Of course this depends how fast you kill them, more mobs would mean more chance to spawn.

Tidemaster Aquinius shouts: Only a fool would seek to destroy the power of the tides. Prepare to die!
dunno where this mob that shouted spawns, this was difficult zone for our group. (none of us with elemental time qvic gear, a few DoD mission pieces on a couple tho)
btw, was readin some of the posts about peeps complainin it was changed for 60+ groups... not bein an old school player, i think it was nice to find a good xp zone that isnt camped to death for the uber drops. we got a good drop tho, will post mob and drop info if we get it again...
IF below 50 zones continue to be revamped to 60+ content and expansions only add 45+ zones (DoD is such I have read)will this be good or bad for the under 50 game?
A second question I suppose is how many options in the under 50 game should there be?
LESS zones for the pre-50's to play in kind of forces them to group, in a way, so maybe that's good, because I've come across a lot of people who don't know how to play their damned characters in groups due to their lameass friends who think PLing is somehow positive for a true n00b. PC was a HUGE mistake, I think, as going from 15-25 in a few hours really hurts skills & whatnot (not that I don't abuse its ZEM myself for ten levels).

LOL, I love these kind of posts, from people that think this kind of change would change anything and unintelligently blame PC and MMs for the situation. I can go from 1-25 in a few hours without ever entering the tutorial, PC or MMs. Don't even really need to twink to much if at all depending on the class. PLing isn't the problem, people not teaching others how to play is.
Retharg: Level 32 Gnoll Warrior No clue why they would have something this low in this zone unless Retharg is for a quest.
Scorch: Level 73 Fire Elemental Warrior This one doesn't see invis however there's about 2 or 3 roamers.
Sertiki the Master of Tides: Level 73 Water Mephit Warrior Sees invis and has two "a water mephit" in its room. There's also a "a water mephit" in the hall RIGHT by Sertiki the Master of Tides room. Saw one roamer there that swam thru the room. Yes this mob is in water.
Stormrider Hilooa: Level 73 Stormrider Warior Sees invis and when pulled has 3 other mobs that come with it. So you need to be very careful when going for him.
brother hayle for soulfire turn in is located near the area where brother drash used to stand....surrounded by 3 or 4 lvl 40'ish mobs...just hand in and gate...this zone is VACANT no one adventures in paw or mm at all even with the revamp...i have not located xicotl yet in lfay but he's a random pop...will post the loc in that zone when i find him
Ah and btw the aug is no drop, and the 4 globes from the 4 boss elementals are no drop as well. Elemental bosses seem to pop in a random order (always after some time), always at same spot each, and depop after a short time again. There is a zonewide message when one of those bosses pop tho.
Guild went in last week after changes. If you are a potime or even only elemental raiding guild, then dont have to bother with this zone. Red con (to lvl 70) nameds are all 1 groupable i would say and drop 60 hp/mana dropable stuff. So not really worth raiding. We killed Air/Earth/Fire/Water named for this ZI quest, reward at hand in was a 60 hp/mana/end slot 8 aug, which fits in like every armor piece. So only quest reward is worth playing there imo.
Some new mobs I didn't see listed: An Air Elemental Breeze Lord An Earth Elemental Rockshaper A Fire Elemental Raider
Every air elemental we fought procced Bellowing Winds (spinstun). Every earth elemental we fought procced Fist of Earth (DD). Fire elementals don't seem to proc anything.
Trash we encountered conned anywhere from DB to Yellow at 67, but all conned red to 62. Nothing really dropped, couple gems, i wasn't ML, so not entirely sure.
It's a pretty unfriendly zone for a group ranging 62-68 with no CC. YMMV.
After seeing the Mistmoore revamp, I was pretty excited to take my guild into the new Splitpaw to see what goodies we could find. However I was quickly disappointed with it's overall implementation. I took about 25ish people into SP to check it out. Now to give you an idea of our gear/skill level we are one mob from elementals and have owned just about every mob up to that point on our first attempt. We are geared pretty well and are about as tight a raid force as they come. We are definatley not weak stomached but this zone made us all hate it so far.
Firstly, they did nothing to the pathing which makes this zone very unforgiving to single groups who would like to kill some of the single groupable named in the zone. Any group who can actually make it to these named is not going to need any of the loot that drops.
Even with very careful pulling one wrong step or a sneeze in the wrong direction can create trains of 20+ mobs. There is no real "safe spot" to med or recoup. You have to pull fast and furious to be able to move "forward" through the zone as repops are pretty fast, not to mention there are a ton of wandering mobs. No rest for the weary here.
It wouldn't be so bad but many of the mobs are unmezzable, and having 2-3 unmezzable mobs in camp can wipe a single group fast. They don't hit overly hard, most we saw was 690ish but they hit fast and the air models proc a very annoying spin stun.
Needless to say, the zone appears to be more "raid" oriented, yet there is nothing really raid oriented as far as compensation for doing so. No random zone drops (we had 0 drops in killing at least 200 mobs) and any single group that can navigate through this zone successfully to reach the "named" inside would have no use for the 50hp gear that drops.
Yes you heard me right we got a 50hp cloak for our troubles in getting to a named deep in the zone. So far the zone is a huge disappointment.
Unless the "quest" we are going to finish pans out to be something spectacular this zone is imo a complete waste of time and will be even more empty than it was pre-revamp albeit the few groups that may xp at the zone in area. There wont be many groups going much further as the risk vs. reward is about as bad as it gets. You can get far better loot in many other zones with 1/50th the risk.
I will post the results of the "quest" we are doing once we finish it which won't be until next week at the earliest since if I mention to my guild we are going to SP right now they will ask for my head on a stake.

Then it was Returning to home point, please wait... LOADING, PLEASE WAIT ...
I know for sure the pally epic and rouge epic 1.0 have pieces/quest parts in this zone, and several other classes in MM, now most peeps achieved these pieces by level 45 to 55 . Now i wanna see him achive these pieces if they are still there. and If they arent there . WHERE R they ?
I can't speak for the others but the Rogue Epic 1.0 piece in here is the Robe of Ishva which can be looted off the Coercer in Kithicor forest when you go to kill the General. She's wearing it 9 times out of 10. The robe, Infact is only used if the general doesn't drop the Quil. Still, I can understand what your saying. I hunted in MM at lvl 30+ so yeah, it's a load of crap that they are instead of giving us reasons to go back to the old zones as they were, they make it AA Grinding zone for the 60+ char's. SOE needs to start paying attention to it's low lvl players or all their gona be left with are the high ones and you can't keep them pleased forever

I went in there as a 54 druid to check out the zone (must remember to con from around a corner), a water elemental at the from hit for 332,332 and 693. Glad I had SoE on.

I just found this fellow (Kurrpok Splitpaw) OUTSIDE Splitpaw lair which is not where he is supposed to be. He was running around in South Karana a bit to the east from the entry to Splitpaw and a little north of the Hermit's hut. He had the courtesy to drop the Ruby Pendant.
I'm not sure if this change is in preparation for the upcoming Splitpaw revamp or not. (As I write this the revamp has already taken place on the Legends server and has yet to arrive on the other live servers.)
Having spent a great deal of time in South Karana over the years I can honestly say that this is the first time I can recall having encountered Kurrpok there.
Interestingly enough I also found the werewolf running around the zone at the same time as Sentry Alechin. (I had both on track at the same time.) That's the first time I have ever seen that happen, too. I think they are playing with the SK spawn tables.
I decided to check to confirm that he's still spawning inside Splitpaw as well. I was able to catch him in there minutes later. Change is in the wind, folks.
I was camping some of the mobs just inside Splitpaw (Tsech Mas, Tsech Mal, Lleth Mas, Lleth Val, Lleth Mal). I got some unknown loot from them. It is called "White Hellebore" It looks like something used for alchemy (you know, a branch with leaves on it). Any idea what it is for?
#Lizardkingz,
Posted:Mar 29 2004 at 7:15 PM, Rating: Sub-Default, (Expand Post) The Ishva mal drops a Fabled Robe of the Ishva that gives you 50 hp,90 mana, 45 endurance, and forgot the rest of the stats, recommended level is 50 and this robe drops off the ishva mal on march and it ends on march. This is the second best robe for all enchanters, wizards, necromancers, and magicians. The Fabled Robe of the Ishva only drops off the ishva mal on every march. I hope this info helps.
This information is quite erroneous. The Fabled robe dropped from the Fabled Ishva Mal during the month-long five year anniversary celebration. Whether SoE will ever decide to let the mob spawn again is unknown, but unlikely. Basically, if you didn't get the robe during the anniversary, don't expect to get it. There are also many better robes out there as part of the game, so don't feel deprived.

Nothing can stop me now.
took my lvl 45 warrior down there again to see how far i could get solo...ya right! i got to the bridge just beyond the double doors killed the room after the double doors np...had to regen hp for a bit..then u get the caster gnolls!!! my warrior just couldnt hang with more than 3 of them without serious downtime. but i did battle like a true warrior across the bridge and noticed i just couldnt do it alone. this place is a zoo, a very underrated zone and fun too. i completed the g-noll slayer quest a while back and that doesent even help along side the club of gnoll bashing. just too hard to solo. although i did see a lvl 60+ mage destroy the whole zone effortlessly.
I just completed the final part to the gnoll slayer and did it solo, this is what I learned...hope it makes things easier for you:
First, go kill the one eyed gnoll. When you enter Splitpaw Lair (SL), turn on your superior camo, if you have it, or any invis. I am a level 51 Ranger and have Sup Camo but I bought a Tolan's Darkwood Helm for my indoor camo before 51.
Now, with your invis, run straight into SL until you come to a set of large wooden doors, double doors. When you go through, there will be a bridge on other side. Fall off the bridge to your right. There are a couple of gnolls at bottom but np with camo. Only one way out of the "gorge" so take it. There will be a hallway to your right and a door to your left. Go through door to your left. There will be a campfire straight ahead and that is where the one eyed gnoll spawns (/Loc 600, -10). The PH was a Nisch Mal Gnoll and spawn time is 7 minutes.
On the second spawn the one eyed popped. Easy kill, gone in 60 seconds, give or take : ) Make sure you root and no nuke, he could run and start a train : ( I rooted, snared, and dot'd and sat there to watch him drop. The only loot from the One Eye was the Gnoll Eye.
Next, go back through the door (towards the "gorge") and take the other hallway. Don't forget your invis. Follow the corridor and will open into a room with stairs going up. As you face up the stairs, there is a door to your left and hallway to your right. Take the hallway to your right. Will go into a small room with a campfire. There are two Lteth Val Gnolls here, one near the campfire and one in the corner of the room. The one in the corner (NOT nearest the campfire) is the PH.
I rooted both of them then hacked out my frustrations. The LV gnoll nearest the fire was tougher than the PH, hit for up to 48 damage, but only took me down to 97 % health, with buffs. I rerooted the PH and then dotted him with Swarm and Imm and he died without melee. Then the final mob spawned.
Once the PH was down, the Lteth Val Scribe spawned 6 minutes later and, fortunately, the other LV gnoll did not spawn. I could see how this LV Scribe could give peeps problems, but I got lucky, here is what happened...
Wasn't paying attention, thought it was PH so from opposite corner I rooted and started casting my DOT. Saw him casting and thought, "nuts!" He immediately cast Tashan which stuck..Uh oh...rushed in to start hacking and kicking to try stun and interrupt spells. Didn't work well but only thing I could do. He then cast Instill twice but I resisted both times. Then he went to which I Suffocate resisted as well. He then went back and casted Instill three more times and I resisted again (thank goodness). Last he started hitting but for only 6 damage each time. In total, he hit me for a total of 12 points of damage! It could have been much worse but was lucky, I think 'cause my vs. magic is not too high.
Now, for the hard part...getting out. There is a barred door at end near secret tunnel that you could get out of if it would open. I tried everything but could not get out. I spent two hours looking for an exit to no avail. Luckily I have a gate potion I keep on me for just this occassion:
This is from the Velious Shawl Quest from Thurgadin (shawl #4) and you are suppose to give to the coldain so he can get home. Well, make another and you can use it! Very cheap to make, everything is foraged so you dont have to spend 500 plat for a gate potion.
If you do not have a gate potion, you will need to take along someone who can gate you home. If you know of another way out, please post. I am sure I will be doing this again when my charges run out.
Sorry for length but wanted to be thorough. Hope this helps!
Was crawling around Splitpaw on my 53 rogue, and way way way in the back is this guy. Dark blue to me, with 3 other gnolls around him (all green) so I didn't want to try killing him. Didn't see him here on the bestiary. Anyone got any info on him?
Just as an addition to that last post, the book and the eye dropped on the first kill. And from what I've read and heard from others that have finished this quest, it's seems like they're pretty common drops...so that makes the quest that much easier. Just a little FYI.
Just to help others from the heartache of this quest, let me share my experience with you. I convinced a few people haning around in the sand pit to help me...it was a full grp with me and one other as tanks(32, 35 warriors), one 31 cler, one 30ish each durid, cleric, chanter, and pally. We levitated down from the bridge past the double doors and killed everything in that room. Then we proceded to go and kill the scribe and loot the book without much difficulty. That's where it started to get ugly. We went over to the room by the tunnel to the ischva to wait for the one-eye to pop...and waited for about an hour or so before the 35 war and the chanter got bored and left. We should have gone to get more help at that point, but we didn't and paid for it. About 5 mins after those guys left...the one-eye popped and brought a couple friends with him. Let me tell ya...he may be strictly melee, but he hits really hard, around the 90's if memory serves me right. None of the mobs were casters...but they still took care of business and made short work of us. If the other 2 had stayed, we probably would've done it without much problem. Luckily the pally had an uber monk friend come and clean house for us so we could get our courpses. And while he was there, he helped me get my no-drop eye to finish the quest. It's a pretty fair weapon against gnolls. I hit for 70's to 80's on a regular basis and crit for well over 100. The ability pet spell can't be used till 39, but overall it's still a good weapon, that is until you leave gnoll infested zones. I even started the quest a second time so that when i do use the pet charges, i can go back to Paw and do the quest again. Anyway...to quelch any thoughts of soloing this quest, let me just suggest that you wait till you're about 39+ to try it, for any class. There are mobs all over the place down there and some are pretty tough. Now I'm sure someone is going to respond to this and say something about how the group I was with didn't know what we were doing and that it isn't that hard. Well, okay then, go and try it. If you succeed, gratz to you. My advice having completed the quest is to either have a full group with a chanter, or wait to solo it till you're a little higher and the mobs are less likely to aggro.
As a lvl 58 Beastlord (well equiped I might add) I was here solo'ing to farm the stun whips....Nice wepons to give pets. I was deep in the dungon when I was mezzed leaving my pet to fight off the now 10+ gnolls that decided to jump in and help. As soon as mez faded I was rooted......not so bad if not the fact that my pet was at 1 bubble of health and my heal takes 10 sec. to get off = ( .... Pet dead....train on me....dead kitty....end of story. Had to hire a necro to summons my corpse, a cleric for rez, and a wizzy to port us there and back.....not a fun day at all. Killed by nothing but green con mobs....how embarasing =(

Get a druid with sup camp, go to the brdge, drop down. One Eye and the scribe are real close. From drop down if you run for more that 10 secs, you have gone too far.. just look for the camp fires, if they not up their PHs are by them. I never have to go thru more than 3 PHs for either and they spawn every 6 minutes or so. Then port to sfg after looting, just makes life a whole lot easier.
I'm currently finishing off old business as I found the first gnoll slayer in the bank and I've camped there this morning having just taken the first guy.
I'm a 49 paladin and used calm to make my way through the double doors and to drop down to where the one-eyed gnoll spawns. I took him and he took me down 900HP, and I was stunning him during the fight.
At 34, I'm sure I could have done it but I would have has to root and back off to heal.
So I'd recommend getting some help at 34 in case of adds as you really need to take these guys where they are standing so they don't start a train. They are quite close to the zone, but then you have to get out afterwards so take a druid to port you out.
