Is it possible to get into the basement of SS temple thru here ... easily? I was hunting for my VT Shard in the southern most tunnel after you cross the bridge. A group went in ahead of me and wiped on the Elder Thought Horrors, I'm not sure how deep they are but since they see invis not going to get past them. Could you go around the long way and avoid them?

It would be much easier to get to the basement of ssra temple from the temple's entrance. You can get all the way to the basement without passing any see invis mobs. Compare this to passing many see invis mobs in The Deep along with the THO if he is up, and I'd rather take the root from the ssra temple's main entrance.

I know this post is from a long time ago, but I hope this helps.

I was crossing the invis bridge once and fell off just before I made it accross. I thought I was a gonner but I was close enough to the edge that I didn't because I landed on the wall part way down. Well I ran around looking for a way up but never found one.

I now know a way to safely get to the bottom of the pit without messing with the invis bridge, but is there a way out? I heard there was, possibly on the NW side?

This would make crossing easier when I'm by myself.

I think you zone into the deep go past the shriekers then turn left go down that way turn right go up and then from there I think u keep going straight up and not turn left. eventually you get to a dead end with a placeholder in the back and a few mobs around you and you just need to make sure there's no see invis mobs on the way there

Need a question answered. Been looking for thought horrors and all I find are thought leeches of various types. I want to pick up the lucid shard. Now, are the leeches PH's for the horrors and is there any particular place the horrors spawn? I soloed through the caves on the Echo side of the bridges. Where are these things? Any help would be appreciated.

I had my 55 Druid and wanted to check out this zone. Zoned in from Echo Caverns and my Spirit of Eagle buff (with levitation) went away. I can enter here with SOW but it appears that any levitation buff is removed. Anyone else aware of this? This is similar to what happens when I zone in to Velks Lab with Spirit of Eagle - it goes away too.

Yes, this zone strips all forms of levitation.

There is a reason for this. You see, this zone is divided into two halves, divided by a deep chasm. When you reach the chasm, you are presented with a large shiny bridge as the only visible means to cross over the chasm. As soon as you step on the bridge, you fall to you death.

Why is there a huge illusionary bridge here? Well, it goes very well with the storyline of the zone. This zone is overrun by "thought" monsters who seem to have taken over the minds of all other intelligent beings. You can't charm many mobs here because it seems they have already been charmed by some unknown force, and whatever that force is, it is intent on killing all intruders. When you finally kill the boss, much of the loot is FT gear.

The bridge is but another illusion, used to confuse others, and protect the master of the unknown force. Just like in Velks, if you were allowed to levitate, one of the biggest hazards in the zone would be nullified. Also, just like Velks, once you figure out how to overcome the obstacles, the zone becomes a great farm spot.

SoE programmers didn't just willy-nilly slap together a bunch of mobs and stick them into a cavern... and yes, I have fallen into the chasm by walking on the bridge the first week of Luclin, and I have had to bring a necro for corpse recovery on several occasions, and I still get nervous when I walk over the invisible bridge even though I have mapped it precisely. Kudos to the designers of this zone.

Shortly after I started playing two characters - a 60SK and 40-something cleric, I fought mushrooms in this zone for some time until I got bored. Not the greatest xp but very safe fighting. They spend most of thier time casting, and my SK resists almost everything they throw.

IIRC they have about 10K hp on average. Can't remember the shrooms' mob name.

Myself (53 mage) 52 SK, 53 cleric, 52 wizard and a 54 necro I believe went to try and kill in this zone. Stopped at the entrance, buffed up, and tried to pull one shrieker, and got like 3. Turned the SK and cleric into shrooms, not even a challenge, necro FD and I ran my ass out the zone. What the hell is up with this crap? Why are luclin zones so freakin hard? There are mobs in the planes higher than these little twits that can't hit half as hard. That's BS. What the hell kind of losers play this video game enough to be able to raid this place? Good lord. Back to Seafury island I suppose. Where level 40 mobs HIT like level 40 mobs.

Amori, I feel your pain, but I think the deal is this: Since everyone is so incredibly buffed out with god-like gear now, they had to make Luclin harder. Cyclopses hit hard enough for a level 45 character with OK gear, not for a typical level 45 character nowadays, who picked up an Arbitor's sword for 100 P and has armor so good it wasn't even in the game when the Cyclops was created. Luclin is about the same challenge to us now as Antonica was when EQ started, and everyone was wearing bronze armor, hoping to get plate.

Everyone is asking where their godlike gear is... And you all think you are under-equipped. Well, lets go over the basic gear of a level 45 warrior back in old world...

Head: Turtle Shell helm (took HOURS of questing)
Chest: Banded Mail
Legs: Small Bronze Greaves
Feet: Dwarven Workboots
Rings: Cutthroat Insignia ring, Jagged Band
Weapons: Sharkjaw Cutlass, Fine steel Dagger, Blackened Iron Broadsword, Screaming Mace
Wrists: Bronze Bracer

I can't remember everything else I had. THink Kunzar cloak for my back, and a shiny Brass shield for bashing. Check out that equipment when you all get the time, folks. You'll be majorly surprised, because the items that still drop of that are vendor sold now and rarely even twink gear. Fine plate was godly. Corrupted was a raid mob. And someone giving a newbie 3pp was either incredibly dumb, or incredibly rich. Not flaming, just letting people know, the game is leaning more towards strategy then just twink and kill... People who arent well equipped should go fight in old world.
Im tired this post is probably very confusing. But Im not going to proofreasd, so bear with it.

So you area saying that you know precisely how much Hp is on everything you have ever fought? Why look here then, just go find the mob, count it's teeth and mutliply by the length of it's tail.

Viola! you have it's Hp accurate to within 10Hps.

If this works for you somehow, GREAT, if not, realize that most people don't bother with logging their games, going through said log, and adding up all the damage done by everyone (especially since said log won't record the DD damage by other people, so you have to guess at partial resists, won't say the amount of any given heal spell, so you have to guess at WHICH "much better" that mob felt)

People posting an Hp approximation are normally doing so since there is nothing else posted yet, and base it off a total guess, normally with a clarifying add, like the size and composition of group and length of fight. A later post with a larger number is usually someone with a better idea of the Hp after reading first post and trying mob out for size.

Jump in the hole, send a tell to your favorite Necro/SK for a summon corpse. Just that simple. Levitate doesn't work here.

"Hey Mike, check out that bridge for me would u??"

When all else fails, read the directions, or get someone else to go first...

mobs at entrance of zone was hittin for low 200s but can be snared/dark and feared
#Anonymous, Posted: Jan 09 2002 at 11:36 PM, Rating: Sub-Default, (Expand Post) lol you killed tormax in seconds? I rather think you just killed one of the weak 32k dragons and now thinks with enough people every boss mob dies within seconds.. just FYI on usual Velious boss mobs you have to CYCLE main tanks because the Defensive disciple only lasts 3 minutes and wears off during the fight... a good dragon in westwing tov takes a 5 minute fight for a guild that Telkorenar is still a challange.. Vindicator takes like 7 minutes for us.. Tormax takes 10 or more minutes of fighting i bet !

Tormax in seconds
# Dec 23 2001 at 1:05 PM Rating: Decent
Erm how many people did you have there to kill Tormax in seconds?...trak can be dropped fast i'll admit that but i have watched Afterlife kill Tormax and also Forsaken Realm....it took Afterlife 5 minutes and i went ld watching Forsaken Realm but they didnt look like beating 5 minutes so although its a lot less than 45 minutes its not a matter of mere seconds
no items in thiz zone

The only mob in this zone that seems to drop anything is the thought horror overfeind..

Seems like most of the zones in luclin are also not itemized.

#Anonymous, Posted: Feb 28 2002 at 5:06 PM, Rating: Sub-Default, (Expand Post) Yeah THANKS VERANT for selling me an unfinished product - Umbral plains mobs had almost NO loot when first out, now you are seeing all sorts of drops in that zone, same with griegs end and the deep... Loot tables not implemented LOL, hmm verant you suck ass, if you cant finish it just tell us, or better yet put in loot first, hard ass mobs second
Overfiend
# Dec 18 2001 at 8:58 PM Rating: Default
Thought Horror Overfiend has probably around 500k HP...That's right...My guild and i have fought him twice now. The first time they had only one rogue, and it took 45-50 minutes. Nasty mob. Good loot. Very good loot. Extremely good loot. Hate the zone though...mobs are too hard and don't drop much of anything until you get to the elders or the overfiend. Even then it's just spells til the overfiend.

rofl 45 minutes, i hope that includes gathering time and grouping... big mobs tormax trak etc = kill in seconds and maybe minutes
RE: Overfiend
# May 03 2002 at 5:11 AM Rating: Default
Actually, Gozz in wToV has around 100k hp and high AC. Takes our guild 10 mins to down him, with around 45people, 20-30 lvl 60. So for us, a decently equiped guild on a 400k mob would take 40 minutes, give or take a lil for no AEs and mages getting to nuke, not drop rods~

60wiz nuke 450mana 1800 about dmg
60mage nuke 275mana 1200 about dmg

The thing you swat out of the way to get to AoW is Vindi/Statue of Rallos Zek/Idol of Rallos Zek. Avatar of War spawns on those. King Tormax is on the other side of the zone. He's also a slightly difficult kill for most guilds. You are incorrect.

Trak has 32k hp. Making him a huge @#%^ compared to this guy.

And for you to kil in seconds is the second dumbest thing someone could post. Go back to crushbone n00b
#JonHertzog, Posted: Dec 31 2001 at 3:22 PM, Rating: Sub-Default, (Expand Post) It's because they killed him the gimp way. Overfiend has almost 0 regen. Any team of gimps can go in, attack til wiped (except for one rogue/monk and an epic cleric), rez everyone back up, and repeat until it dies. Good guilds can kill this mob in a few minutes, gimp guilds can take up to a few hours, depending on how much they suck.
Easy

Ok, we took 31 people there today on a standard CP raid. We broke in, split into 2 seperate raid crews in the same vicinity and had 1 puller brining in the mobs. Only thing even close to a problem was when we found out imp form = kos to the ancient shrooms who con indifferent. But with 3 enchanters (me being the lowest at 55 and other 2 being 60) it was easily handled. We found some named worm thing that is unselectable (A Burrower Beast), red to 60, and apparently just there for looks....for now. Moved on, found some upgrades to the boring old thought leeches (an elder thought leech) which were all yellow to 60. Cleared through the 8 that were up 1 at a time alternating tanks so that the main assist had defensive disc up. No idea how hard they hit as I was never aggroed, but we seemed to lose about 5 people over the course of the 8 fights. Cleared through and past this stuff, essentially the end of the zone, to find a secret passage to Ssraeshza Temple. We zoned over and there was nothing at the zone in. Walk over a room, click a rock and you teleport out into the standard second floor of Ssraeshza Temple. Beat down some taskmasters (including one that AE'd with rain damage for 600s. Anyway, great bit of exploring. With a proper raid team, this zone is easy. We got a few spells including the level 58 bard song : Chorus of Replenishing (AoE mana/sta/hp regen). Hope this helps.

Well tryed to explore this zone with a high lvl group couldnt really do much but kill the front mobs cuz there were so many and the repop time so high couldnt do nothing. So looks like this will be another guild zone. I wish verant would make more seb style zones. Doing a raid everyday blows just to explore things.
