Since it is a Scout. And every BST epic mob is a Scout. It's kinda safe to Assume that this "Scout Tovi" character is for a BST Epic. Though the MoB itself is Green and Indifferent the MoB that is will Spawn when given the correct Item will prolly not be as big a push over.

Scout Tovi is lying on the ground among the Shissar Revenants at the Southwest corner of the Temple in the Grey. Green to 65, but quest related so not big issue on level I'm assuming.
I cleared the Rev's and attempted to sneak for about 10 minutes (I'm a halfling DRU) but still scowled constantly even though face buried in the sand.
He looks like a DE cleric or SK just from the armor. Will take back my DE nec and see what he says when hailed later.
Although this is an ideal zone for soloers to play, there is a negative ZEM (zone experience modifier) for this zone. From what I have read on many boards, there is a -15% experience modifier on the mobs in this zone. You will get xp if you hunt here, but 15% less xp for the same level mobs elsewhere in EQ.
Had a little fun exploring and killing things through some zones. A few facts: Monks are GREAT pullers in this area. Unlike pulling in Maiden's Eye where trap mobs will camp the FD'er until the depop (usually a few minutes) I notices that these worms mostly will depop instantly. Also getting too close to certain boulders can spawn a pair of (a boulder fiend)s they are not listed above but rate as a 50ish mob. they may FD camp for a few minutes two. Most trap mobs drop nothing / zip / nada / ziltch. The various skeletons drop Platinum (Mmmmmm platinum) and gold. you can actually camp at one of the western corners of the temple and as long as you do not let mobs wander off too far when they go below 20% you can be quite safe. Good luck hunting in The Grey

Hello all. I'm a 59 druid and I like to quad the timeless golems near the entry to Mons. It has a nice "alley" that you can pull the quads down that is away from beaten path, so you never interfere with others in the zone, you get few adds and gives decent exp.
My pet peeve, however, is those who enter zone, run across pulling a train of as many mobs as they can, and pull them into the tunnel. The darn rock fiends do NOT wander after they zone, so they sit in the tunnel and wait for the next unsuspecting person to zone in or out. This also happens to be the succor point which can be fatal if you need to exit from a situation. I usually go in and pull the mobs to the outside when this happens and I notice it, but if you have been doing this and were unaware of the trouble it causes, please consider you fellow players and announce your train (most don't even bother), and don't leave them in the tunnel.
Next time you come in zone, give a shout and I will be happy to come get you and LS you across to Mons. If I'm not there, at least you can warn anyone else that may be lurking near the Mons zone line.
You might want to try Mons Letalis - about the same level mobs (maybe a shade higher). Same old grind but different scenery, instead of fighting chickens and giant dogs you fight blue bugs and rock monsters.

These little buggers appeared from a trap. They throw pebbles for 50hp damage a time, summon and hit for 100 or less. They appeared three at a time and run in little bursts. Can be a pain as they bounce you about with summons rather than running up to you. They look like 3 foot high versions of the rockfiends.
aye shissar ARE undead i have charmed shissar sandstalkers with conjaole undead and when hasted WOW body watch it, these things can tank against a golem with NO DOTS i was like WTF they hit for 155 tops but usually triple for that. I have noticed tho alot in here is socail i plan to solo here now that i am 49
This happened to me last night after my computer locked up while my bard was kiting in The Grey, thus killing me. I got there and put on Selo's travel song which does invis, see invis, lev, and Selo. A good corpse retrieval song, the only downside being that it drops as soon as you are hit.
Well anyways I got to my corpse which was of course still guarded by the 5 skellies that I was charm kiting. It was the tormented iksars to be specific. Every one I had conned while invis had been indifferent. But when I tried dragging my corpse away from them they instantly went after me and killed me.
So this leads me to believe that some of the tormented iksar can see through invis or that corpse dragging here is similar to how Kael was.
I don't mind wizards or druids quadding in empty or near-empty zones. I do however mind when qauds turn sour in zones where other groups or other soloers try to get their thing going.
If you are one of those considerate wizards (or druids) that respect your fellow players and keep your quad out of harms way then I have nothing to say but congratulations to your exp and loot.
On the other hand, if you are running around quadding and suddenly face a problem you cant handle, then I strongly suggest that you do what is in your power to solve it, and ultimately gate out or die on your post trying, rather than possibly training others. That is what many other classes have to do in similar situations. Its still just a game, for you as for your fellow player.
Furthermore, I totally agree - a wizard doesn't have to be a manaburning L60 to be useful in a group, they are valuable assets from square one and forward.

I'am a lev 49 dru and I must totall agree with you I'v leared that I should always keep a gate up when soloing althogh I do forget sometimes witch for me that is involentary suiside in this zone. I would like to ask a question though I quaded some of the timelesses in this zone and was very impressed with the first quad I tryed to a seconds time but I dicovered one of the casting snake like mobs that cast some kind of necro snare dot that just kicked my but anyone know what spell that was?

man... thats like hating black people cause a black person robbed you 1 time... not all druids are bad, im dont pull stunts and get other people killed while im laughing on the other side of a zone i just trained. well usually not unless i really dont like the people to begin with in which case i would build a trin just to drop it on them LOL... /em Bleeds... Bleeds more
Im a 51 Enchanter and I have a great time soloing this zone. Although, I only go after Boulder and Stonehand I do get the occasional adds. If you are insterested in Solo at 51+ get a mage to summon up evo bracers and rings, then nuke and root the hell out of everything in the zone. Hehehe this place has made me 23k so far. Its a great farm.
can 53 necro solo here or do i need 55 necro buddy? im wanting exp hard-core, not highkeep. ive been to this zone before on a raid but i want to solo stuff.
#Yevun,
Posted:Dec 07 2002 at 4:23 PM, Rating: Sub-Default, (Expand Post) i can't wait this zone has alot of cash potential and ubah drops i wanted that bone braclet =D
u can kill like 7 shissar in front of temple with a 58 druid and 2 necros to feed him mana for the wrath of karana or whatever it is that they have at 58
Wow, hat is THE saddest thing ive heard all week. I wrote out a whole long rant but i deleted it on my better judgement. All i'll say it dam stump humpers
I'm surprised to not see Boulderlings listed after all this time. A post mentioned them back in April as being lvl 37-43, which I can't confirm, but I do know they pop from the rock traps. They pop in a group of three and definitely summon. Nasty little critters.
I ran into one of these traps and had three boulderlings pop. They conned dark blue to me (52 Magician) but where not to hard to kill with my 51 earth pet, the fire damage shield casted on it and some nukes. So I assume they're around 42 or 43 max.
When would a BST consider soloing here? I'm currently level 52 with gear that surpasses what a normal BST would have at my level. I'm not after the epic drop, just xp. If 52 would be too low to solo here(read single pulls) where would be a good place?
Just a word of warning. The NE corner is a haven for Wizards and Druids that like to exploit the "no path back" and "single pull at 59+" rules for their own gain and to the detriment of other players. Yes "exploit", after days of getting lagged out by 30 or more skels lined up, not to mention the rockfiends skewed all over that small area, and asking them to move them over a couple hills, I petitioned. Lo and behold they knew of the exploit, called it as such and next thing I know, the druid responsible is in the nexus, lol.
Score one for the non-uber, soloing chantermonk. Don't put up with this crap, it is a warnable exploit and EQCSR knows about it. Now the battle is to get someone to respond to the petition anytime soon hehe.
I agree with the post about you non AOE classes whinning, its obvious that you all go to a zone like the Grey or RM and see one char quadding a mob that takes your whole group to kill. Theres nothing wrong with being jealous, just dont be a hater, go make a drood or a wizzy like I did,

*ahem* how many other zones are there that you can visit? i guess there always has to be someone who cant play nice with others...... /sigh /shrug im sure the GM's want to deal with ppl sending complaints about how they lag (get a better machine?) due to someone creatively surviving. The Grey is one of the do or die zones, you cant do it, then die. Stay safe all! *smile*

Its not a matter of someone "Creatively Surviving" Its a matter of someone exploiting a bug in the gaming code. Its risk free experience, and granted everyone loves it, it is still against the rules set by SOE.
Oh, and I'm sure that the Guides love to come and bust exploiters.
Sig is out of date

Heh nice try, its not an exploit, or a bug. It would have been fixed and ppl whould have been warned. Mobs wander out that far, hence adds are possible. Like i tried to make clear before, its a game, and if you cant take it, dont play it. Ive died many times to druids and their *ahem* quad kiting, and i dont go off and whine to already over-worked GM's. If you cant handle the zone, try another, i hear EC is pretty easy now-a-days. *grin* Of course i bet no one who reads these forums camp zones under their level, thats just unheard of! /rolleyes

Quote---its not an exploit, or a bug. It would have been fixed. Any paladins remember the wall fearing sploits in ToFS and DL? They're still there. It's easier for Verant to send in the $10 an hour pudsmack GMs to warn people than it is to have the $30 an hour programmers fix code. As long as it's not yanking too many people's chains, it is going nowhere.
Err...you guys are actually arguing with someone who refers to herself as a...and I quote..."Necromanceress." Surely there must be better ways to occupy your time. Please. Don't encourage people like this.
Whether bug or exploit, there are still inconsiderate players who take advantage of code problems within the game, and make life hard for all the other players around them. To tell you the truth, I have no problems exploiting a bug if you're nice about it, hehe. And I'm not a cheering squad for EQCSR by any means...they are terrible with CSR...but I approve of it when they actually do step in and stop rude players for ruining everyone else's fun.
I got this from a timeless golem, I think. I found out it is for Beastlord epic:
Quote:
You say, 'Hail, Weapons Master Rahoul' Weapons Master Rahoul says 'Hail friend, are you a new recruit or have you been at it for a bit? ' Your Location is -105.99, -540.14, -258.75 Weapons Master Rahoul says 'You are just the time. The weapon that Elder Dumul requested has almost been completed. We need you to gather a few items in order to complete the weapon. These items will not require much effort to acquire, but I will need to tell you where to look. Place all of the items that I request in this box and return it to me as quickly as possible. ' Weapons Master Rahoul says 'Now, seek out a large chunk of perfect acrylia ore, two Gems of the Void, and chunk of dense fungal padding. Once I have those items, I can finish the weapon that you will need to use to kill the dark animist. '
and it can't be MQed, since you need to combine it in a box.
Picked up a few items off wandering mobs and was wondering if used for anything?
Vacuum wurm eye and Vacuum wurm hide off Xakras. A Perfect Acrylia Ore off a rock type (cant remember if shimmering, stonebeast, boulder fiend, or even timeless golem). The ore is nodrop.
Pretty much figure other items like granite chips, shissar scales, and pebbles are just money loot (would be better money loot if they dropped more often).

Only one of these I can answer with any certantiy is the Vacuum wurm hide. It's used in tailoring. So far I've found no use for Perfect Acrylia Ore (been sitting in the bank for 3 months). The rest of the items (granite chips, shissar scales, etc.) are, I think, just cash items.
There are some other items (yttrium ore, meteor dust, lucid shard) that drop from the Sun Revs that are all used in varioius questing/tradeskills.

Anyone know what quest these things for? Someone told me once, but seeing as how I suffer from short term memory loss I have completely forgotten. Uh...what was my question again?
saw a mob in here today not mentioned on the bestiary... an iksar slave, probably upper 40's. blue to me at 57, decent Fire/cold resist but magic seems to hit him pretty well.
i have a few questions that i would appreciate some help with. first how is the lag in this zone i know it gets abd in some zones on luclin especially if u have and older comp. and lag can affect how well a fight goes if it gets too bad. second is it safe to travel the zone edge without having any of the ground spawns i see ppl speaking of. and could a party of a 47WAR 47, 45 pally 41 cleric 44 SK and a chanter or maybe a druid hutn here very well? this is the usual party i hunt with in my guild and we hunt well together and i know a couple of ppl in my guild could use the shield off the hierophant guy. any help and info would be evry much appreciated and ty in advance
Answers: Lag is reasonably bad, but not many players here so isn't intolerable. I use a P3 800 with NVidia MX400 graphics card on cable modem, and I have to turn the clip plane down to about 15, and details off to function really well here.
No it is not safe to travel the zone edge. You'll usually (not always) find something to chase you. Invis does seem to work here for most things, but not sure about the snakes as I think they're undead.
Yes your party could hunt here, but beware the Shimmering Rock Fiends. They have a ton of HP and hit hard. Would be a real challenge for your group, and I'd guess impossible if you got an add.

No he is Definitely right. I went there w/ some of my buds to grp at the temple. It was me(52Warr), 55 druid, 52 Cler, and a 51 Warr. We went not thinking to bring crowd control cuz we didnt think we needed it. Then once we set up our camp right at the front of the Temple these damn worms start popping out of the ground like popcorn. Since we had no crowd control we zoned and then started to pull to zone. Not as bad )
#queequeg,
Posted:May 10 2002 at 6:30 AM, Rating: Sub-Default, (Expand Post) This used to be a fantastic zone to kite mobs. May 8th patch has downgraded it once again.
Since the worms are animals, with appropriate charisma, charms might not be as bad as you mention. Also, that means as a druid, we can fear them, MR debuff them, and pretty much just own em. Tho I don't have the skill yet, get one of these to Dire Charm. The Grey will be a druid paradise.

queequeg is right. There are many more worm spawns around the temple now and the worm traps MOVE. So if you don't see any of those little clouds on the ground don't think you are safe in that spot.
We've been killing here awhile and killed alot of rares. We've gotten a few drops not mentioned. Meteor dust of the Revenant with the long name, and shissar fangs. Both are stackable. Are these raredrops from lvl 50+ shissars? or rare drops from The named.
Just killed a named mob called Boulder. Not sure of PH other than maybe regular rockfiends. He can be snared and rooted. Lvl 54-55. Dropped a Stone Bladed Axe.. 1hs 13/26 ac5 +cold5 wt 4.5 either melee. War Pal Rng Shd Brd Rog race all.
...also drops a nice caster staff. Polished Stone Staff 19/34 1hb 7sta 7int 10svc +3 Bane to Stonegrabbers ENC NEC MAG WIZ (like a chanter would ever melee a stonegrabber...)
