Man this place sucks for exp. this must be one of those "loot" zones where SoE decides to cut the exp in 1/2.But the problem is that the loot sucks here these days in 2005.
Dual boxing a 55 Ranger and a 55 shaman I barely got the exp bar to move when I killed like 10+ mobs here. No wonder this place is a ghost town.

saw him running around tonight hits rather fast about 300 damage ea also has 2 or 3 bats with him.. Any clue what he drops?
Viianixis is not a mob, he's the SoE GM for game hacks and exploits, he's been logging in alot lately due to the recent flood of people blatently doing crap. Also saw him pop in RSS as a prylian flamechick
In the building with the zone to AR. Is a Green KOS to a 61 agnostic monk. Did not aggro me at all. I'm guessing he's something to do with a new Epic but who knows really.

I was whacking toilers today for charcoal, and a new named popped on track. I used to come into this zone all the time, but hadn't been here in a while and never saw this name before. Viianixis. Red at 59, and popped in the walled compound. Might want to investigate this. :)

I tracked a mob, Frantic Ravenous Beast in ME today. Tracking it took me to the fire pot over by UP. The tracking acted like the mob was stuck somewhere in the structure. AE song didnt bring it out and f8 didnt target it.

A guy missing from mob list is "Xi Maul"? Not sure if a cleric or a necro but looks like a Xi Vius. No pet, either.
Exp here is very nice and recently i discovered something i thought i would share, the boathouse ( House in the pond NE corner ) is full of Xin Thall Centiens and other Hooded Varients, the area surrounding is full of Toilers ( Toilers Drop Centi and Transient Sleeves ), With a good smart group this makes for GREAT exp and Excellent loot, there are also many nice spell Drops here ive sold a few in Bazaar for +500pp

I get asked a lot in game about what and where are the mobs that drop shards in ME since i lived here pre PoP.
This is for my fellow guildies and anyone else wanted the VT shards.
A Goranga Seer: loc aprrox pos 850, pos 1000 PH middle Scout. Shards 2 in 3
A Goranga Battlemaster: loc approx neg 1300, pos 400 PH right side scout. Shards 1 in 2
a Goranga Savant: loc approx neg 200, pos 800 PH is SW most scout of the 3. Shard 1 in 2
A Goranga Forager: loc approx neg 200, pos 800 PH is NW most scout of the 3. Shards 2 in 3

I can confirm that the shard does indeed drop off the Savant and the Forager, which are listed at the said positions above.
After a server reset, I went to check wether any of the named gorangas were up, and to my surprise, both of these were. Killed them quickly for two of my friends and they both dropped the shard. Not sure if these are static spawns at every server reset, more testing needs to be done.

Looks like a Monster not on beast list here for a Goranga Lookout level ~48-52. This one cons dblue to yellow to my 50 lvl shaman. Drops Words of Bondage but mostly only Plat. And seems to be like Warrior type class.

I am not sure about other classes, but I know that this is a great place for druids to solo. I would recommend 50+ and i would say by 55 you could head to WW.
In my experience this is the best method to killing things. If it is possible (your level is high enough) charm a ravenous beast and have it attack the umbrous toiler. This is a good way for exp. Also it helps to dot them while the pet is attacking to speed up this process.
If you can not charm a ravenous beast snare/root then dot away!! make sure u stay away from the Xi's near the lake. Good luck

I also got the Slighted Pauldrons from a Goranga Battlemaster. These are a very nice shoulder item with the good AC and low weight. Stats are exactly as listed above. Seems to be his common drop if not his only drop. Will keep on hunting here and see what else drops!

Spawned near Akheva zone, dropped shard. Easy kill at 65, solo. Respawned 30 minutes later for a guildie, no shard that time.

Infos on this mob are outdated. I'm 61 Shaman and i pulled one yesterday, dark blue to me... i must say it's been quite a surprise, just read.
Pulled it with 75% slow, no prob, rooted and send pet (lvl 61 pet, fully buffed with Celerity, Focus, STA, AGI, Regen, Primal Essence + the pet only buff). The fight started, i casted epic DoT on mob, seems usual no prob solo. Epic dot landed. But then, even slowed and my pet at its max, the mob started to outdamage my pet badly ! Had to cast a couple of Torpor on my pet to avoid it to be slained *hmm!*
To help pet, i decided to DoT : ALL my DoTs were resisted. ALL. Hmmm, i casted Malo -> landed with no prob then recasted my DoTs : Here again, ALL were resisted. Had to kill it in pure melee with pet assist, took me like 10 mns real time (and i'm quite a battle shaman but they seems to have TONS of HP!).
All this for... 4 copper. Can you believe it ? So either the infos here are really, really outdated, either i engaged a specific mob with ultra high resist or i don't know but this was a badass... for your info, i solo'd a few Gorangas after this one with much more ease (all my DoTs landed, as usual).

as long as your 51 Necro is moderately geared or more, you shouldnt have too much trouble

I love this zone. Been trying to get my monk a Goranga Spiked Club, so I got a small greoup together. Group was: 55 druid, 49 druid, 52 warrior, and 47 chanter (me). We were doing great, this is a very cool zone, aside from the massive trains. We pulled a lot of Gorangas, most blue, some yellow, a few red to me at 47. And even got trained by 2 while fighting one, everyone panicked and aside from the War going LD we coulda won. Hust some advice for soeone thinking of going here with a small group like me, stay away from the mins burrowers. Got trained by a lvl 52 one, these guys have a TON of hp, but once I landed a slow, druid heals caught up. Fight lasted about 5 min. All in all I think this is a great xpin zone, but I'm gonna stay in Velks a few more lvls...
Just came back today and have some nice info ready, one, the Gorangas have very low resists, I was able to land mezzes/slows on reds without many problems. The Vampire Bats, dont see invis, but they are VERY magic resistant, I was getting constant resists on blues. As are Coteries, who are always rsistant, no matter where. Whe killing in the Coterie house, camped by the zone wall, I suddenly saw a blackish arm in front of me.POW! Xi Xaui hits YOU for 128 points of damage! As usual, I got aggro off onto tanks and mezzed him, thank god, we finished the bat off we were fighting, bard charmed one and proceeded to pound the Xi. Went down easy, must have been a weak one as I didnt even tash to land mez. I love this zone and it's pretty safe for chanters, lvl 47+ as long as you have a cleric to give ya a few buffs and a good channeling skill ^_^
A note about the bats: some see invis, some don't. The same is true of the robed guys also. So if you are invis in this zone, /con things before you run by...

Wanna know how to really own the zone? Charm a Xi Xaui Cleric, they can be 50-54 so some are too high for the "thrall of bones" charm. Buff him up, pull mobs with a low lvl lifetap, and put lich on, reapply charm and pet buff every now and then. It's nice to have pet that complete heals both you and yourself, triplehits in the 140's and has 10K HP's.

Any mobs here see through Druid Superior Camo or Foliage Shield? I do not as yet have Improved Superior Camo as it goes for 5k (for an invis spell are you kidding?).
I am hoping to make it through this zone to get to UP to camp some Elysians. I made it through there long ago once for a botched raid, but died horribly at 52 in UP, so I never went back. At 54 with a 55 necro friend I hope we'll fair better in both zones.
Anyone that has experience with this zone help me out here, thanks loads!

Lvl 51 druid friend has Improved supere\ior camo, lucky dog, but his luck ran out when he tried running across the zone with it. The Xi people can see through it, as can their pets and the other skelly type mob. He died by a mind burrower, though i think that was after the camo dropped.

The only difference between Superior Camo and Improved Superior Camo is that Improved Superior Camo has a fixed 10 minute duration, unlike regular Superior Camo which has a random duration. There is no difference between the two spells when it comes to what can and cannot see through it, and I got the feeling from reading yours and the person you replied to's posts that you think that some mobs won't see through Improved Superior Camo that would see through regular Superior Camo, which is not the case.

I run across ME from DSP to UP all the time with only Super Camo and only the skeletal drudges see through it. I run right past XI Xaui's and they never see me.

Loads of mobs missing from the list.
Killed a Vampire bat today and my god they have a lot of HP. Checked my logs and counted 17K HP - droped giant bat wings :(
Anyway they are not worth the effort , you get the same exp off goranger gatherers and they only have 6-7K HP.

The Vampire bats that pop from the roaming spawn traps can be up to level 56+. the 'normal' static spawns and roamers are usually less than lvl 52, sometimes down to lvl 46.

GM's have lotsa commands to disguise themselves and hide themselves from players, so its still possible that she was a GM, would help if you gave us the loc of where she was incase she was infact a Mob, but still very doubtfull.

Ok, first off, I started out the evening lying FD, as I am a monk... was trying to evade the massive trains that seem to happen in this zone on a very frequent timetable. Anyways... I'm laying there, and looking at a few corpses, when i see this human ranger type chick pop up from out of nowhere. Her name: "Cudah of the Grove"
Looking, as I had mentioned, like a female human ranger, she was questionably dressed up in brown leather, and was wielding a very strange, but yes, very nice looking weapon in her main hand, she was duel wielding, and the offhand weapon was equally nice looking. prolly was a high gm or such, they dont have to have a green tag and can hide them selves from /who all's and such.

It was a GM most likely, they can hide from players easily enough.
with the new xp changes for higher level mobs this zone has become very used on Zeb, since lotsa higher lvl mobs, and nothing summons.
However, with all the people, there are now constant trains to Dsp, umbral, and AR.
And i mean *Constant*
hunting for 2 hours you will literally see 100+ /ooc Train to Dsp, /shout train to akheva

I died a few times finding a good spot to hunt, but once you find one of the 4-5 decent spots, this zone rocks. absolutely impossible to hunt in open area in the middle though.

Ive killed the Goranga Seer several times and every time he had the shard. When zoning from Dawnshroud, go straihgt out and youll find a rock with 3-4 scouts, the Seer spawns there, just keep clearing the place holder's )

I camped the 3 spawn of scouts yesterday for 13-14hrs and saw a total of 2 Seers spawn. The first one dropped some lame club, 2nd one dropped a wooden staff(I didnt care about the name) I was thinking woohoo I am done with the ME shard and it was a 2hb weapon that was promptly destroyed along with my sanity. This is the 2nd day of camping said mob.

I have notice that this list of mob NEEDS to be updated. There are more mobs in ME than whats listed here. The battlemaster(named) the goranga scouts are 2 of em that i can think of.

I'm the most non twiked monk on 7th hammer, lvl 50 and full of wu armor. Does the club and idol drop as often as is posted or has it been nerfed? be nice to have a little extra.

Ok heres the deal with the club this is a lil weird but its almost completely random the drop seemingly floats around the monkeys. There is no certain monkey that drops it. It cud be any one of em even one in the huge monkey central over the hill as you go right from DS zone

I partner with a 60 necro in here and I get about 3blue/30mins here, at 52.. Insane.

Seems that the Scouts, Hunters, and most Centiens cannot be feared (I think some Centiens can be though). While I had KEI (55 SK here), were were rolling through mobs like butter. The Xi and the Centiens can complete heal though which can be tough. Our group was me, 56 druid, 57 necro, 54 shaman and we were owning. We ended up getting 2 rogues and it was carnage. Some real nice stuff here. Got some 12ac +4 all stats (+5 cha) boots here and a goranaga idol for my 51 cleric. Very little red at 55 and I was able to tank fine with a bit over 1k ac.

It is no-drop, so you have to loot it yourself. A lot of high-lvls bring their twink monks here to get one because they rot often. Have seen discussions about whether or not its right for low level players to come here and ask to loot them.
I figure if a level 5 monk can even survive getting out here, he may as well get a shot at looting something that would rot. Might not be all that easy to stay alive long enough to loot it, heh . . .

First, there are 10 different Lucid shards, from 10 different zones. You'll need to get one of each. However, you'll also have to kill the Emperor of Ssra, which is a tough nugget, to say the least. Once you got all that, you can finish your Vex Thal key...
Now, as far as the ME shard is concerned, the named Gorangas are what drops it. They are all pretty rare spawns, so expect to hunt them for a while. I killed a Goranga Prophet with a lvl 60 enchanter, lvl 60 druid and lvl 53 warrior, with no problem, so once you get the named to pop, it shouldn't be a problem.
Now, as far as the ME shard is concerned, the named Gorangas are what drops it. They are all pretty rare spawns, so expect to hunt them for a while. Got one of these have a Goranga Forager, along with a Goranga Tribal Club.. 11/24 5ac 5str 4sta i believe.. looked like a one handed Ketchata Koro Mis.

Prophet was lvl 57 with a lot of HPs. He casts often, including AOEs. He also gates and will bring back friends if given a chance. His hits where less than 200 and slowed by 60 shammy was not too bad. Enchanter and necro both died pretty fast though:P
The spear is a 2HP with stats 28 dam 41 delay plus 5 str and 4 agi (might be 4 sta) Damage bonus at 56 is 28. it is lore but not no-drop.
Usable by about anyone that can train 2HP.
Prolly end up destroying the shard though. Takes up inventory space and I wont be getting the other parts in this lifetime.
Maybe someone from an uber guild will pay for loot rights next time:)

i dont know if this is relevan but ive seen theese shards drop off of sun revnants in scarlett desert. only seen them drop on the platau there.

Lucid Shard drops off multiple mobs on Luclin, from what I have seen. I have gotten them in The Grey and SD as well as here.

Just use periods and punctuation, and paragraphs.
It will make it a lot (not 'alot') easier to read.
As it is now I'm sure most people skip over this post, as did I. (Even though I felt the need to reply, lol)
Maidens Eye is a nice zone to get some good upgrades in. Especially for the 50-55+ levels. Just don't go in as a level 32 n00b and hang around and /ooc for loots.
Some people don't care I guess, but personally it gets a little annoying to me. Which is why I believe the Strength of Grodan drop got moved to a named rare mob, to cut back on the number of level 20 characters or twinks running around with such a nice weapon.

Hello.
Dropped this guy last night in Maiden's eye. He dropped a goranga war staff, 1hb 9/20, and a Lucid Shard, part of Vex Thal key apparently.
He was kinda tough to pull, lots of other mobs around him. We pulled him up on the hill next the the dawnshroud peaks zone. Gated on us the first time,
#a_goranga_savant00 Gates. - Doh!
but we got him back and took him down. I'm sorry I don't have any info on his level. He hit me (54 Pally) for around 140 or so I believe, but he has quite a few hps.
Casted Tigir's Insects, which i resisted every time (MR at 110 or so i think.) He could be slowed, dotted, and Fire DD without a problem.
