Mikael Mistigone stands at the docks to Gunthak. I must have hailed him a long while ago as he gave a quest titled something called "what machines are these". There were 2 steps. check a courtyard in Nadox to see the machines there, the Western door to the temple in Gunthak, and then report back to Mikael to receive the reward of 73pp, 4s, 8c plus some exp, which must been a small amount at 65.
I rehailed him again and he now tells me he is busy waiting for some one? So maybe the quest is removed??
I've got several Tiger Fangs to drop from the various tigers, and I'm wondering something. I sell them for about 1 plat to vendors (with 2 opal encrusted steins) and they turn around and sell them for 13 Plat plus.
At a price like that, I'm thinking they are used for something else (perhaps a quest). I don't know, but it just seems that stuff costing that much with no weapon potential, no tradeskill label, etc. likely is used for something else.
I'm also wondering if anyone has some suggestions about trying to identify unknown recipes, tradeskill items, etc. Any thoughts on a good way to identify the 50% of original quests that haven't been discovered yet?
Instead of hitting all animals at once, thought I'd put this on the Stonebrunt page. The Tigers, Tigresses, Granitbacks (Elder and Highland) have dropped numerous Runes for me.
Most have been labelled as dropping the Rune of Karana. Although I've got a couple of these, I've also got Runes of: Concussion, Rallos Zek, Arrest, Fulguration, Helix, Dismemberment, Regeneration, Al'Kabor, and Xegony. The rune drops are kind of sporadic, but they fall a reasonable amount of time.
I've also had various words drop from these mobs. Forgot, I also actually got one Eye of Serilis to drop. According to Alla it is used for a Magician research spell.
Last few times I have been through the zone I have tracked "a mountain dragon". Red con to my lvl 60 Druid. Probably for one of the new epic quests. Havent taken the time to go look at him yet, and wonder if he would be on the "ring of scale" or CoV factions.
A Dire Panda- Stonebrunt Mountains A Dire Leech- Swamp of No Hope A Dire Griffon- North Karana A Dire Kodiak- Jagged Pine
These are all level 65 and con indifferent. I hope this helps with some puzzle pieces. Rangers had to find 6 sick animals. I would assume there are 2 other dire animals out there to add to this list. Possibly druid epic? I haven't found any epic information linked to them yet.
Aroara 65 Druid The Seventh Hammer

I believe this is a new mob in the string of other new dire animals. I saw him on track in the north part of the zone but didn't get a close look because it conned red to me at 58.
I ran across him west (or I believe it was west.) of the Kitty Kat City. If the Shipyard is South, then he was West. He was close to the zone wall. Tuff little bugger. I'm a 51 ranger, and I had to DoT him, and use my arrows to get him down to 41% health before I gave up and zoned. A few punches from him when he jumped me got me down to 18% health in hardly any time at all...and I was full hp with my hp being just under 2k. So I recommend you bringing a healer and a slower AND so DPS along with you if you are gonna kill him.
If you care, most of the names of the mobs are written in Khowar, which is a language mostly spoken in Chitral, which is found in the far North Eastern part of Pakistan:
Ademzada = aristrocrat Awrat = woman Ghazi = veteran holy warrior Ispusar = sister Mamluk = servant Mujahed = holy warrior Pasdar = he/she, who awaits Khonza = Queen Amir/a = prince,ruler/princess Shazda = prince Puzhal = name of a city Tseq = child
On the far most south east ledge is a pirate camp, as mentioned by previous people.
There are 2 scorned shiphands, 1 heretic shiphand, Wejnin D'Vir, and Cedric Trallus.
All conned indifferent to my halfling driud, despite me spending the last 5 levels and 6 AAs killing pirates in Dulak, so I am assuming they are on a different faction.
All conned red to my level 55 druid.
When hailed, Wejnin D'Vir said: "Wejnin D'Vir is wiping the mud from his boots as you approach him. He does not appear to be particularly pleased at having to undertake this exercise. 'What is it? Can't you see I am busy?' Wejnin D'Vir stares at you a moment then sighs and turns back towards his muddy boots."
When hailed, Cedric Trallus said: "Cedric Trallus is holding what appear to be some nautical looking maps. He rolls them up quickly as you walk in and addresses you. 'Yes? Is there something you need?' Cedric Trallus growls as you notice black tendrils slithering across his fingers. You start to think it would be wise to leave him at peace."
Sounds like a quest to me. Now, if I could just figure out how to raise the faction to get them to talk more. Hmmm...
Ok... I need more sleep, because had I bothered to look more closely I would see that Cedric is listed in the mob list above along with the dark spells quest he is linked with.
Two mobs are showing up on track which are not on this list.. A Scorned Shiphand and A Heretic Shiphand. Both track as red to a 34 Ranger, and appear to hang out somewhere east of the ship along the beach.
Went that way and saw them with 2 named mobs. One was reading nautical maps and had some dark tendrils around his hands. Red to a 56 so didn't bother them as i was alone at the time.
ok i was on my SK and running around getting pelts/XP here. i look at my LoY map and see a little bump on zoneline. i ran to it and it was a cave, i saw some boulders in it and tried to get through, i couldn't. so then i thought "hey maybe they will move if i click on them!" so i click on them and they spin around... im like WTF!? so i go on hunting and come back and i run at the boulders and keep clicking and they spun me through (you have to hold foreward) i got to the back of the boulder wall to find a dead end... i beleive this is gona be part of the new expansion coming out calle "lost dugeons of norrath" if you do not beleive me go take a look yourself! to get there go along the stream that goes north and follow the wall its closest to, you will see the cave, clikc on the boulders and see!
While wolf form for druids is KOS to the Kejekans who otherwise like my druid, not all illusions are. I cast spirit of ash on myself last night (faster mana and hp regen, 39 dru spell), and sat in the middle of the Kejek city. I think I was the biggest tree in the zone...but they didn't have any faction issues with the tree. Lol.
The Etched armor is pretty nice for the level you can obtain... And yes, not everyone is a twink. Besides as far as twinking, if you are leveling why not keep a set for your lower alt or a friend anyways.
I have hunted here with my Druid to level. I leanred a LOT about this zone. It is a druid/ranger designed zone period... bottom line. Some of the quests DID requie forage. I got 2 Wakizashi of the Frozen Skies
while just screwing around for XP. Also the NAMED fruits and Bamboo *WAS* forage only. Sometime since last time I was here it changed... I now looted Bamboo and claws of a young panda. The claws seemed more common. Also now you can SEE the claws on the young pandas. It looks flipped backwords (maybe my video card, but this happens ont he vah shir models sometimes too for me) claws bent out from their elbow. Also I dont think I am crazy, I think the cats DID agro me before, but now are dubious. And in wolf form most con warmly... isnt that sweet.
((( this is kind of like the the Shard wyrms and bile : making thier feet/aura glow... thats how you know they have bile in another zone for another quest.I mean now more and more stuff has visaible loot table )))
So when A ranger asks if he can solo, if your around the level range I say go for it.
As far as druids, wolf form makes you agro nothing... EXCEPT the Cat people. If you are in normal form (as Karana anyways) A lot of the stuff will jump you. Mostly the gorillas and mature pandas (and young)
As a druid or ranger 'Fear animal' and 'panic animal' are your lifes blood. Its a fast cast, everything is an animal, and it can save your butt.
I returned here at 37 and still got decent xp off the blue mobs. just while defending myself I got a yellow bubble, and honestly I was just screwing around because I had gotten the port (from the east common's tunnel vendor) I dont think the xp ever stop here.
Rangers, Druids and monk zone by far. Monks get the footpads of the snowbeast, bamboo staves and the bamboo splint armor is nothign to shake a stick (first) at (grin).... Id say this zone is practically custom made for those 3 classes.

never seen the prowler of the jungle. currentyly have giant rattle (which i wonder now if the giant moccisans now in Innothule are the same...) and I have the giant sabretooth fang from snowbeast.
a lvl 29 could kill the heratics pretty easy. I like using a pet. because sometimes they have a pet. they are SK or necro. be warned. the love to fear also.
Ok, I do believe that there is something for Verant to fix regarding aggro in this zone. First of all, druids, rangers, and (especially) Vah Shir Beastlords are KOS to the various tigers and leopards at, what appears to be, any level. I find it strange that a tiger would attack a character who commands tigers. My 55 Vah Shir Beastlord is attacked by leopards, but the panda cubs of the same or greater level ignore him. The cats need to be fixed. I honestly dont mind haivng them aggro, but they at least need to stop after they turn green.
I found this cat person near the waterfall that comes down the north zone wall around loc pos 3650, neg 3536. When I hailed gim this was his response. Scout Malom says 'It is a pleasure to meet you, but I do not have the time to speak. I am awaiting on official word from Shar Vahl. If you have been sent to assist me, please show me the Official Seal of the Khati Sha at this time. If you are not such a person, please carry on with your business and leave me to tend mine.'
I don't know if this is a new quest, but I plan on looking into and was wondering if anyone knew how or where it might be possible to find an Official Seal of the Khati Sha. Any input you have would be appreciated.
Thanks for the insight. I saw a similar Vah Shir Scout who said the same thing in the Ferrott while hunting spiderlings for silk. Was wondering what he was all about.

there are actually six over all, all have the same purpose of spawning a giant version of a fairly common critter of that particular zone. they reside in feerrott, stonebrunt mtns, lesser faydar, emerald jungle, swamp of no hope, and permafrost. all the mobs they spawn are lvl 55, max hit for 255, have high magic resist, and usually have an aoe(all except the giant wolf in l fay that has a targeted blind) effect that you need at least a 120 svm to successfully resist every time. they usually have a ton of hp and can be taken down without many troubles by a group of mostly 50+'s. my guild has been working on going through these one by one for our guilds elder animist. been sending in screen shots and info to this site as we get them, but have yet to see any make it to the lists. hope this info helps at all. 8)

A friend of mine was searching for the Slyder that spawns here and came upon a mob not on the list. It was called "A Highland Granteback". Just thought I'd let you know.

My 54 Bard's faction with Werewolf illusion (Lute of the Howler) does not change. Apprehensive remained apprehensive and now indifferent remains indifferent.
Was told that there is some quest in sbm or in zones near it for Pouch of Kejek Catnip. haven't found the quest yet but was wondering if it might drop off of something. If anyone has heard of this or knows info please post. thanks
Do 'cherries for miranda'. The hard part is you need brownie parts to make winter frosting, and forage marr cherries. She give 6 catnips per quest and faction. See EQtraders for more details
Absolutely hands down the best zone in the game for Smiths. Cats here drop up to 3 pelts at a time. One hour with my chanter and I had 3 stacks of pelts.

I mentioned this in a reply on this page and you may not have seen it... The Titans apparently don't include "Titan" within there name. There is a creature, Snowbeast, a 40 leopard that is of the Titan kind. This leopard, like titans, can't be rooted or snared (don't know if that includes bard song...) But druid/ranger animal only spells DO work on him. Fear kite seems to be the best on this guy, has tons of hp. I also heard Snowbeast is on the same faction as the Kejekan cat people which means 1) Don't pull Snowbeast by the city 2) Killing Snowbeast may be a faction hit from the city making you possibly KOS.
The Titans are the following four nameds: Prowler of the Jungle, Snowbeast, Old Ghostback and Slyder the Ancient. Prowler is a leopard, Snowbeast a sabretooth tiger, Ghostback a gorilla and Slyder a snake. All con indiff to my Ranger, cant be hailed, and ive read/heard they give instant KOS faction with Kejekan Village if killed. In Paneel you can start a quest which includes various drops off the Titans which yields some very cool stuff, IMO. :)

There are two sets of quests involving the titans. One starts in Erudin (good) uses their pelts, and the other in Paineel (evil) uses their fangs/teeth.
They are also part of a quest that involved in "purifying" some of the weapons that are dropped in the Tower of Frozen Shadows on Velious. For this one you have to converse with Old Ghostback and have him "bless" a special hammer for you.
Killing them does NOT result in KOS faction in the Kejekan village. I've killed Prowler several times and Snowbeast once and I still sell my goods to the vendors in the village without any problem.
This place is great for all classes! I went to stonebrunt at lvl 16, just to check it out, i grouped up with a bunch of low lvl 20's and took on a camp right out side the entrance from the warrens. I lvl up to 18 almost 19 in about 2 hours, and made over 130pp from loot. Stonebrunt has GREAT exps and AWSOME LOOT, good place for everything, but i suggest a some sort of healer or buffer be with you. you can squat on the camps on either side of the entrance, or camp the lower lvl spawns at the doorway, or go out into the plains and hunt the tougher stuff down, just BEWARE THE BUNNY RABBIT, some kind of Monty Pithon fan created him, hes really tough, even if he cons green or blue. Good luck to you all=)
Well there's a new quest in the zone it looks like a Vah Shir named scout malom can be found at the end of the stream just right of the water fall will ask you if you have the official seal of Khati Sha if not then move along hope some one can find out what is up with him and let us all know.
Just a curiosity question (no pun intended... being cats and all) - has anyone taken a Vah Shir character into the Kejekan village? I'm wondering if they would recognize the Vah Shir as relatives or give better faction towards them.

Hey yeah, I am a druid and I've been looking for these dang so called "Heretic Invaders" for a ton of time wandering up and down the river for about 3 hours straight. Any place in particular these pain-in-the-necks pop?
I've been hunting here almost a week on/off with my 34-37 (leveled at this location) halfling druid. Some say they spawn around 5-7am game time but I've gotten them on track throughout the day *but* the majority have been around 7-8am. I prefer to camp at 0, neg 1400 and look towards the East. He/she seems to spawn closer towards the river and walk West. Only once have I lost track due to an animal killing it before I could get there :( On another occasion I had to fear an animal so it wouldn't KS hehe.
If you can't track or you can't find a partner to track, this mob can be very difficult to find due to the hilly terrain.
AS stated by the other post, the female is a caster (low hp) and male is melee. I just snare the female and nuke it 3 times; I root the male, snare, DoT, nuke, med (I could just nuke and nuke but I'm conserving mana :P)
I was running around that whole zone looking for them and never found them.
But once I read(i think it was on this site) to stake out around -1200, -800. I found a heretic walking from that general direction, and 3 more in the surrounding areas over a few game days.
Ive seen them pop up between 1am to 5am
Heretics will be attacked by cats and Kobolds and problaly alot of other mobs.
The female heretics are necromancers and like to cast everything on you. They fall rather quickly to dots and a nuke or 2.
The male heretics are shadow knight, they will harm touch you the first chance they get. Root and nuke will take them out quickly, with little or no harm to you.
tho true that they can be found all over the zone, ive found most of mine in or around neg1000, pos2000 area. And when i hunted them, i tracked every 15-20 minutes, so im fairly sure that is where they spawn once they do. :)

This is a new guy up in the most NE position in the zone. Looks like he is for a quest, heis requesting a Official Seal of the Khati Sha. The Khati Sha was one of the famous cat people. I have did some research on the seal, but have not found any thing. Anybody got any ideas? I have checked into Shar Val Quests but nothing and now going thru the town in search of new quests
I have heard a lot of rumors that the titan claok and leggings are no more, if anyone have valueble info about this please send a reply or contact me in Firiona Vie server

I got a hide off the Titan Leopard tonight 18 Mar 2002. He also dropped 2 of the footpads. I got one and a guildy Ranger that was in group got the other. So the hides are still dropping. We also killed Old Ghostback, but he didn't drop anything.

This zone is a dream for rangers with sow and fear kiting. Throw in the wakizashi quest, the heretic heads and the good loot off nearly everything that doesn't purr.
In the past, I've run thru Paineel as a Paladin lvl 15 or so - without a problem at all. Once one of the Guards feared & dotted me, but I was still able to recover and make it to the Warrens zone without dying. Note that this is without the benefit of any SOW on any of the runs, as we didn't have anyone in the grp capable of SOWing. Looking forward to trying out Stonebrunt. I've visited the Warrens on a few occasions, but just discovered Stonebrunt.
No it wasn't a guard that feared & dot'd you ... the guards in paineel(ALL of them) are warriors only. Perhaps you misread the msg as to whom the spell belonged to. Duriek Bloodpool has /con'd dubious to every character I have ever taken there, don't know about race/class I have not played. And FYI the guards CAN catch a 15 shaman WITH his own sow up. So if it were the guards htat agro'd, and you were NOT sow'd ... LOADING, PLEASE WAIT would have been the spell being cast in your direction ... especially at lvl 15, the newb guards smoked my shammy in a matter of 3 hits
Actually you're half right - the dot and fear didn't come from a guard, but Duriek doesn't aggro on anyone. It was Azzir Habbib(sp?), the 25ish SK who sits in the observation area overlooking the newbie area. He LOVES to chase down anyone who is KOS to Heretics and drop various nasty spells down their throats. My 23 Iksar SK got caught by him recently after some guild launched a raid on the warrens and managed to get his attention so he was out by the entrance to the newbie area. I died after zoning into the Warrens from the DoTs on me thanks to the guildies who were waiting just inside the zone ignoring my requests for some healing since they pulled him down, and de-leveled... but that's beside the point. ;p

Just a thought but wouldn't it be great if Verant found that the world is round. Then maybe you could take a boat to Steamfont if the gnomes could burrow a passage.
There's actually rumored to be a SIXTH continent undiscovered as of yet. If you look at the globe of Norrath in Skyshrine, you can see it. Maybe these docks are going to be how we get there. Ya never know, do ya!
Hiya I'm a 52 Ranger with aq level 19 enchanter twinkie. I would like to run the titans quest I need to know:
1) What are thier names
2) Where do they spawn
3) When do they spawn
4) What do I need off them
5) Does it drop offten?
I will check this on friday, I started to look some of this up my self, but because of all the crap posted off the subject I got tired and decided to look like a newb and ask. Apari Bowreaper 52 Pathfinder, Knight of Lore Felchar (Crystalmind) 19 enchanter twinkie.
i am not able to look at some of the drops in this zone. could anyone tell me who drops the the panda robe or whatever and what also tell me the stats?
However there is usually only one guard there you have to be careful of and he's only up about 30% or the time, whenever I go anyway. Most of the other guards are only level 12-20, but that one high level sucker will fear and dot you and have dead quicker than you can say "what the hell was that?"
Oddly enough, they're dubious to my Barbarian Warrior. (Same with Tier'Dal's, and I'm not complaining) Though I found out the hard way with my Shaman one day that he's KOS. =O
Now if you stay in the warrens for a while and stonebrunt and kill tons of Kobolds, you may be able raise faction high enough so you aren't KOS anymore.
