Ive been looking for a person who is part of the warth brothers i belive. It says it in the message at the beginingof the game but says no name. If you know where the person is please let me know.
Thalin is a human in a red robe by the dock in Halas. I've never seen him here before. Below is my conversation with him. Apparently we will be seeing emissaries at Wayfarers camps soon.
You say, 'Hail, Emissary Thalin' Emissary Thalin says 'Greetings Beryon. Have you heard any [news] of the trouble with the sun?' You say, 'what news?' Emissary Thalin says 'At the Temple of Solusek Ro we began noticing a disruption in our communication with our god. It is as though he has become more distant or that our connection with him has been weakened. We have spent countless hours search for a reason but thus far have come up empty handed. This failure has led us out to the cities of Norrath for further [research].' You say, 'what research?' Emissary Thalin says 'While we are usually self sufficient there is a good deal of information out there that is not available in the temple. Myself and many others from the temple have journeyed to the great cities of Norrath to search for aid in our troubles and possibly a solution. If you wish to help you might check with our priests that were being sent to speak with the Wayfarers Brotherhood. They were leaving after I departed though and so may not have reached the camps of the Brotherhood yet.'
He is located near the dock in Halas. Task he offers is 'Coordinating the Armies'
You say, 'Hail, Patrick McGuyett'
Patrick McGuyett says 'Hello cousin! Welcome back to Halas. You look to be the civic-minded sort. We hear that there might be trouble brewin' to the south and we might become a part of it. Trouble is, we aren't prepared for such trouble. So I've been looking for stout young folks to bring supplies that we can use in such times. I'm trying to gather bear pelts and dye to prepare armor and wode. We'll also need weapons of just about any sort. If the weapons just happen to be magical, then we'll be more pleased. Now that we a good start on gathering our supplies there are [other things] that you can assist us with.'
You say, 'What other things?' Patrick McGuyett says 'So far, so good. But now we need some real work done for us.' You have been assigned the task 'Coordinating the Armies'.
You are first sent to Innothule Swamp where you must find and Hail three NPC's.
You say, 'Hail, Yun Trainer Kintok' Your task 'Coordinating the Armies' has been updated. The direction to someone related to your current Task has been marked on your compass.
You say, 'Hail, Kor Trainer Galdok' Your task 'Coordinating the Armies' has been updated. The direction to someone related to your current Task has been marked on your compass.
You say, 'Hail, Dar Guard Argup' Your task 'Coordinating the Armies' has been updated.
You are then sent to explore the Rathe Mountain entrance to the Feerott. Zone into Rathe Mountains from Feerott and move away from the Feerott zone area to update the task.
You are then sent through Rathe Mountains to the Lake Rathe zone. Once you are close to the Lake Rathe zone, your task is again updated and you are sent back to Halas to again speak with Patrick McGuyett.
You say, 'Hail, Patrick McGuyett' Patrick McGuyett says 'While you were gone we began working on distributing equipment among the troops and have come up a bit short on the armor for our special forces. I need you to head out to the Wall of Slaughter and gather some scaled dragorn hides for me. Those hides are perfect for the armor we need.' Your task 'Coordinating the Armies' has been updated.
You must loot 4 scaled dragorn hides from Wall of Slaughter and return them to Patrick McGuyett.
There is one more part to this task to complete once the hides are handed in. I will update this when I find out what it is.
Be very careful crossing the lake if you are a gnome. I was patiently waiting for the boat to come and saw a player swimming towards me. So I figured I could cross it that way, as well. The swimming wasn't a problem, but when I got to the other side I couldn't get out of the water! I struggled for about 10 minutes, trying to get out on both sides of the lake, finally deciding that maybe casting illusion human would hhelp. I managed to get the spell scribed, but for some reason before I cast it I was able to struggle out of the water.
Needless to say, I will be taking the boat from now on.
The old pictures of the rogue guildmasters show them wielding rapiers, but now they have something different, some type of dagger with a ring at the end of the hilt. Does anyone know what it is?
so... do bst's have their own faction? if so, what is it? i don't even see field priest keven, or any of the other NPCs associated with bst's on this list
About every city now has their set of newbie armor quest. I checked Allakhazam, and Halas only seems to have BST quests.
I do not know whether Shamans and Rogues get newbie armor quests in other cities, but Warriors certainly do ! I checked Qeynos quests, they are for Half Elves / Humans only ...
ALSO Check the quests list under Halas ... Click on a quest and then click on the factions that are raised...you see what to do to raise each faction one by one
Steel Warrior Faction can be raised with several quests and by killing 5 NPC's - ---- I checked the Faction list for Steel Warrios and it tells all you need to know to raise your faction in halas
I too have a need for improved faction here and in Everfrost. My main character is a Dark Elf Shadow Knight that needs to be able to roam about freely in Everfrost.
It seems, however, that killing things in Everfrost improves your faction (or as another poster said "fraction") only within Qeynos.
How many white bear skins would one need to improve enough to be dubious to the guards?
You can raise Faction here by giving White Polor Bear Pelts to the Kilt shop chick, and orc wrist bands. You can turn them in invise till you have faction high enough to sell. It takes a long time before your not KOS to the guards thou so be carefull. When you have high enough faction that your not kos to the guards, or more to the point the steel guard then you can turn gnoll teeth to the chick in the Pit of Doom. There is also a milk quest to gain Faction in WK also, but it is just with the Steel Warrior's.
And agian the question must be asked HOW do u raise faction in this wintery city, ive tried gobbies and gnolls, come on verant get of your collective duffs and tells how to raise faction im a ranger and im dubious so i cant finish my bracer quest.
Ok now this is all crap! I know there has to be a way to raise faction with these brutes now out with it! I have to have better faction for a few quests here, and if we couldn't raise faction someway then they wouldn't give the quests now would they? If you know...PLEASE post so we can all benefit!
Go to Lysbeth Mcnaff at the Warriors Guild. She will give you a quest that requires you to bring her 3 Gnolls Teeth (these can be found on random gnolls throughout Black Burrow and on the Gnolls Guarding the Tunnel to BB in Everfrost). The Teeth are stackable, so go there first and collect bags of them, then go to Lysbeth and turn them in three at a time.
