Umm just trying to figure out the drop rate in this zone. I've killed the yard trash and have not seen ONE items listed on the loot tables. How rare are they ? I've got my 77 Necro in there hunting as we speak and the only thing that is dropping are spells.
Ok I am thinking about clearing this zone. I have mostly a melee group 2 monks, sk, sham, druid. All 75 with full anguish gear... I can clear fear in about an hour.
How long you think it could take to clear this zone? Ive been there before many times on old school raids that it took 50 people to clear but have not been back there recently.
The only reason it takes an hour to clear fear is because you get to far away from mobs they lose agro and you have to go back and get them.... makes me angry.. does this zone do that?
If you guys could let me know the aprox # of mobs and how long you think a pure melee group doing insane dps (but to a single target) would take that would be great.... I might consider doing the whole mass pull and AOE them...not sure how long that would take either....
We just 4 man'd this zone 72 cleric 72 shaman 80 necro and 73 warr took us 8 and a half hours to clear zone and kill Tunare thats with 2 wipes due to to many mobs at one time was a fun time never been here before so first time killin here she didnt drop the snare stick but maybe next time did drop my rouge weapon nice upgrade to him
Went to POG last night with 1 group to slaughter all the little Pogglettes for no reason what-so-ever. Level 70 Chanter, cleric, rogue, pally, Beast and level 69 Bard. PoTime geared as well as other fun weapons and armors. I have to tell you, if you don't mind getting almost no exp POG is still a lot of fun. Myself as the enchanter (and the cleric) pulled with my chanter and would bring 5 to 15 mobs at a time and we'd stand in a tight group and clean em up. Sometimes I'd slow a bunch, sometimes I wouldn't. With a summoned pet with speed and conviction as well as a group of good dps, we barely needed to heal at all. Lots of PP items drop so everyone can make several K plat in loot and at the end of the night we found ourselves parked at the base of Tunare's Tree to see what would happen.
We killed a bunch of the little tree ents and then wandered inside the base of the tree. Stompinya (of quellious) pulled those tiny little bastards with 1 million HP's. They resist nothing, were easily slowable and do almost zero dps - it just took us a while to beat them down. I know it took less than 30 minutes to kill them both because the pogs aggroed only once during battle. I killed the pogs with my pet and cleric dps while the other 4 played with the Thifling Focusers. After all that effort they dropped only Plat (not that we needed any loot from there).
Then Stompinya pulled the 2 guardians of Tunare. 2 black panthers that are also quite easy to kill once slowed.. however they do have a 10 minute Silence AOE spell. Yes I did say 10 minutes. For some reason my enchanter never got silenced. Once I heard the guys groaning about the silence, I Popped my Resist AA to max all stats and settled in for a long fight. I kept 2 pogs, 3 trees slowed and rooted out of range and kept clicking my c4 pants and recasting speed on the melees until we dropped both Guardians. We had a couple deaths but were able to win. That marked the end of the night as we were all tired... but I have a feeling we'll be going back to kill Tunare one of these days.
I'm a DE rogue thats definatly kos to anything in the zone, but so long as i dont unhide at all I can drag corpses w/o agro..You will have to have SOS for this to work.
I entered this zone again after an almost 2 year break from EQ. The way it used to be, almost every mob would drop a gem or other vender sellable item worth 90-180pp.
The nerf: They made it so the 2 protectors of growth zone-wide agro.
I also noticed that they drastically reduced the lovely gems and sellable items from the drop tables.
So for all of you interested in going here, ask yourself "why?"
Crappy xp, crappy loot, zone wide agro. Please make this zone useable again Sony!!
Anyone know the aproximate respawn time in PoG? I know it's long since clearing whole zone is needed to prevent Tunare from calling the zone on any raids fighting her and that the PoG's are 15min but for normal mobs anyone have any idea?
Strange. Maybe PoG has been changed, but the levels listed might be wrong. To a level 65, Prince Thirneg is conning white and Tunare is yellow. Maybe a few others that are listed too high, but don't feel like checking the rest.
"a gleaming sphere of light" looks like a red glowstone and is off to the east wall of the zone near the middle, next to a giant stone statue of an eagle surrounded by agitated and skittery forest spirits. He says:
"I greet thee, (Name). You will have to pardon my demeanor - I am afraid I am not in the best of spirits. Recently yet another brother was taken from us by an evil unknown through the dark art of mind rending."
Augmentation of Death dropped for our PoG raid last night, so I can confirm that it can indeed be found in PoG. As to what specific mob drops it, however, I can't say. I believe that the spells drop randomly from any mob in PoG, but as I haven't been looter on any of the raids there I've been on, I can't confirm this.
Does the Faction that cannot be fixed have anything to do with the Paladin epic? I went on a poG raid and havent done my epic yet. I read above Elia the Pure is required for my epic, but the faction she is on cannot be fixed.
The faction you need for Pally Epic is Deepwater Knights. There are only a few mobs in the entire game that are this faction. As you can see from the link below http://eqbeastiary.allakhazam.com/faction.html?faction=13 only a couple are easily do about. Our Guild Leader is a Pally as well and has basically given up on getting his epic just for this reason.

I was the one that authored the "Pog Myth" post. All of them do hold true.
Here's an update: What I did not realize is that I'm still KoS in PoG. After all that faction work-because I never fixed the royal tunarean court OR friends of tunare faction. There are 2 that I know of, quests involving kael giants in EW that will raise them, but they're long and involved. The only reason I had to fix my faction was because I use a faithstone and gate back to my hometown often [felwyth].
Also-don't be fooled, the totems are way under conned. It is a fun zone though! Good Luck
You mentioned turning in 4x4 stacks... I am not familiar with the quest you mentioned, but no quest I am familiar with allows you to get credit for stacked items (only the first one on the stack). For example, turning in 4 stacks of bone chips just gives you credit for 4 bone chips. If this wasn't taken into consideration for the 5k muffin quest, that would mean you gave 20 times as many muffins as necessary (you would only need 250). Anyhow, just a thought. *shrug*

I love raiding PoG, pretty much only when i'm the leader though : ) I usually am or I'm the main puller, not matter what it's a fun zone. Money to be made, just make sure your puller has high MR, that is a crucial, puller should be a bard, if you don't have a bard make it a monk, due to ads, specially when taking out the brownies. Bards are the best though, good chain pullers.

the info i got says u have 3 faction hits from normal pog mobs (no bosses) and u become KoS. a ranger friend took a hit becuase he casted CoTP, and he is still ok, so i know tis not one.
