Was talking to a guildy the night before as he was camping the bird. I remember the last time server was reset as I wrote it down(lost a loot item due to a stealth rollback and had to email verant). Provided him the information on last server reset....which inspired me to do some calculations based on what I found here on the message forums. My calculations put the bird to spawn in the early morning(using the 19 hour approach. I went to bed and set my alarm...I figured I would log on and see if he was still camping bird. Camp was free.

Got bird my first try. I can't verify the validity of the 19 hour spawn cycle. This is because from server reset to it spawning for me was 42 hours.

A Frog's take on the spawn time theory:

I began camping bird just a few minutes before 2nd 19 hour spawn cycle was to occur. Four hours later was when bird spawned...thus 19+19+4=42.
It's possible that the bird spawned between that time and may have been flying around before people realized it was in zone...no telling...but from what someone said who was camping it pretty heavily after server reset...he didn't see any bird.

A Frog's take on the location:

I read posts where the spawn location was between the three gnomes who play poker and the three static cougars next to another close by tree. I positioned my camp directly between those two trees. I'd say that was pretty close - but, when it spawned for me I felt it was closer to the gnomes and just a tad up further on the hill which is to the backs of the gnomes. I was lucky those that were also looking for the bird had all tired and left...otherwise this slight difference from where I based my camp may have been a factor in me losing Stormfeather to someone else.

Luckily my weight lifting facilities are also where I have stationed my computer, and I camped this bird while I excercised and afterwards prepared for a college test reading a book while at my computer.

My frog warrior is not able to deal with all the cougars etc. So I camped this bird using my 64 Necro that I semi retired.

Worst fear was when I logged to bring on my frog someone else would take my bird...a little over a 7 min timer on corpse. Could not see anyone, but hurried to log off as atleast the no loot timer would give me a 50/50 chance on the first to grab it once timer opened FFA. I logged on my frog I had camped at the location and no one was around....was beating off a cougar. Mid way during cougar fight I checked for timer and it was open....looted corpse and proceeded to deal with cougar again.

All I have to say is I am very estatic about my fortune, and I couldn't have done it without the information already posted on these boards.

My total time camping SF was - 4 hours. And, I do realize how lucky I was...I realize many people have suffered long camps.

Best thing to do is find out when bird was last taken down or if a recent server patch took place....then factor in 19 hours for a log on...then if camp is open camp it for a few hours. If nothing...log off...come back when 2nd spawn should have occured and repeat.

Good luck to all.....FROooaakkk!!
