I got a gnoll dousing rod during the war, lore and no rent off of a gnoll and it is ranger only. Anyone have a clue what quest it is for?

We had killed Barducks really easy...One group went in, and killed surrounding gnolls, and fear kited him. The druid kept the other gnolls harmonized so they wouldn't help the big guy.

During the war we had three groups. We kept most of the town alive, but at the end the sarge gave a speech. When we split up the loot, the sarge would not accept what we gave him.

BTW, only two waves of gnolls, and then about 5-6 Assassins.

Anyone ever finish this with handing in the items?

has anyone kept the sarge alive to the end to give him the book of gnollish hymns? curious to know what he gives for it. 2 groups of lvl 50's are suggested for the war, but just 3 of us killed barducks and survived the war, just couldnt keep the green sarge alive. was me a 58 bard, a 56 ranger and a 54 sk. barducks is easy for us, its just the waves of gnolls with us all kiting 5 or 6 is hard, especially when the other guys go oom. but if you havent tried the war, do it, its fun.
Also drops this item

You won't find these in the Darkpaw caves, as they only spawn when the Jaggedpine-Darkpaw war starts.

When Barducks, the boss mob of the Darkpaws, who is said to be level 50+ and hits for lots (high 100s, maybe low 200s I believe), is killed, he triggers a war between the town and the Darkpaws. When this happens, many high-level "a gnoll" mobs pop and begin to attack the town.

The town is pretty much defenseless, as all the guards con green to a me, a level 52 Magi. So, it's up to the people of the zone to preserve thw townspeople.

The war occurs in three waves, the a gnoll wave, then the assassin wave. The assassins drop statless class-specific pieces, which can be handed into Seageant Caelin if he is kept alive. What you get is purely based on how the town fared in the war, the more NPCs kept alive, the better the return. It is thought that if all of them are kept alive, the loot is pretty uber.

The pieces that drop off the assassin are NO DROP LORE AND NO RENT, so make sure you dont gip another class by ninja-looting and not checking the stats.

This gnoll is also probably around 44-47, but all the gnolls on this board are way lower than they really are ;)
