I soloed this part of the epic recently and what I have learned over the past three years is that you need to get the 'intel' on the mob before you go for him. (I know, I break this rule occasionally myself.)
A few things I did look up ahead of time is that you do need to bring enough of the fish scales with you to last for yourself or friends EB for what could be a long-ish camp unless you have the drop spell Everlasting Breath (no component)or possibly the Braided Ivy Cords from LFay (focus component conservation 3.) You cant forage the fish scales like you can do in Kedge and stopping to go up top to fish with your foraged fish grubs is a pain. If others are there to help you, potions of EB or EB triggered items help out. By the way, if you have not hunted/quested in Kedge yet this will get you some practice with underwater fighting. I didnt pull anything outside up top because I am used to underwater fighting. (My mrs. gets scared of drowning her cleric and is all panicky when underwater especially underwater caverns, but is getting better hehe.)

The Tainted/Corrupted Aqua Gob Shaman only spawns at the top of the underwater tower in the cavern in Lake Rathe. To get there swim out to p2830 n900 in the lake and go down to the underwater cave opening. Swim down the tunnel till you see 2 Aqua gob spawns on the left and right of the tunnel. These are the EZ guys and are not casters but they have bows and enless arrows so just for fun and practice, take them out one at a time to get some practice and know-how. Dont bother pulling them outside up top island just do your business and finish them off. (Its always best to take on EZ mobs similar to the one you want so you know how they fight.)
Next move down the tunnel further till it opens up into the big cavern. If you have not already explored the cavern and the tower do it now. You will see the tower in the middle of the cavern. It has 4 spawns at the 4 corners of it's base that are either aqua gob, aqua gob shaman, or deepwater goblin. There are 2 spawns inside the tower at the base of the tower that are aqua gob or aqua gob shamans. There are 3 spawns up at the top of the tower that are either deepwater gob or tainted gob or Lord Begurgle(cleric epic). There is also Deep. She is a Dark Elf and just sits there stationary either at the top of the tower or a little ways from the tower. (lvl 60, indif) All the aqua goblins have less than 612 hp because a starfire always kills em in one shot. The deepwater gobs are green/light blue to 55. Tainted is blue to 55. Corrupted blue to 55. The tower has a trap door hole to go from top to bottom but don’t bother with it. Just swim outside and around as needed. Remember that you’re literally in a 3d environment underwater hehe.
When I was goin for my epic part, clean lakewater, there was already a group campin the deepwaters for exp and a 57 monk (go figure) camping Begurgle, so I just killed the aqua gobs and the occasional deepwater to pass the time really.
One thing to note is that none of the mobs in this area, including tunnel, wander. So a good idea is to find a place to camp away from mobs and park it there. You will not have to worry about roaming adds while you go afk for a drink (Watch your air or refresh EB first!) All mobs spawn at their spawn points at the base and inside the tower and stay there, moving only if pulled or aggroed. Best bet is to just stay wolf form and sit up in tower top till you are rdy to pull as they spawn.
I timed the spawn for the middle-top spawn at 30 min. The middle one is the PH for Begurgle. The spawn timer for the rest of the mobs was 6 min. The ones you want are the two on either side of the middle, so we lucked out and the clerics have to wait 30 min per pop hehe.
Most of the deepwaters are shaman casters so plan to keep up magic, cold and pois resist spells. If you root and dot them you can move out of their cast range and let em cook pretty ez but they take more than 1 wing death to get em down because they self heal some till they are oom. I resisted almost all of their spells and the ones that I didn’t were easily overcome with a chloroplast ahead of time. I didn’t even bother with regrowth. The rest of the deepwaters are warrior type with bows. Just move around the corner in the tunnel or else behind the tower after you root and dot them to avoid arrows. If you are having problems with multiple pulls just harmony first and watch your spawn timer. (Everybody has one of those hehe. Just a watch or clock or egg timer something.)
Enuf with the PH tactics. After you get the tainted to spawn just pull him away from the tower per your normal pulling preference (snare/dot/hammer swipe to the head). Get the tainted rooted soon because you prob wont be able to out-swim these guyz and you don’t want to go toe-to-toe pin cushion tactic because of the insta-spawn corrupted. Use the above PH tactic to get the tainted down but remember to keep enuf mana for the corrupted. Use sleeves to finish off from a ways to help conserve mana.
The corrupted may not spawn. I say may not spawn because this is pretty much the only problematic corrupted of them all where it’s a flip of a coin if you get the corrupted or not. All the others are dependable insta-corrupted but not this one. You might have to kill a couple tainteds to get a corrupted like I did.
The corrupted is a little more tuff than the tainted. Blue to 57. He has more HP, took 2 wing deaths and 3 sleeves and 2 roots and a starfire. He cast the same spells I think but most didn’t stick and chloroplast was plenty to overcome those that did. I kept up my magic and cold resist but didn’t pois resist and it cost me some.
At the end of both mobs I was bout 20m and 60 health.
