Guys, this guy does not discriminate. I went in with my Human Paladin and I went in to the Grub and Grog Tavern, looking to buy some supplies, when out of nowhere his pet starts beating on me. At first I thought it was a joke and continued about my business, then Palatos casts a spell on me, and I said um, I should leave now. So I ran out the door and got jumped by the Freeport Militia. I think it has something to do with your faction with the Freeport Militia. But I've been wrong before. Moral of the story when in that area, walk softly and carry a big SOW.

I created a Erudin Necro. Went in there and Hailed Talespinner. Wouldn't do or say anything to me. I turned and looked at the Erudite there thinking this is a bad guy's place so no goodies gonna be down here so I hail Palatos (without conning first) Then I con right after I hail he turns around casts ignite on me and then Talespinner says "I will sing of your Demise", "Your Religion is an affront to me" and proceeds to skewer my liver. The pet that was there at the time was a Enchanter pet invisible dude with shield and sword. He conned Indifferent to me. Didn't attack or anything.

I was walking down there to find the Rogue guild hoping to find someone to sell to and the suddenly i was being attack by his pet skeleton.Then she comes up and kills me. So i went back to get my corpse using /corpse and it comes to me but unfortunately so does the pet. So I die again. Then i use sneak and hide then summon my corpses and lukily im not attacked but now ive loss a lot of exp. so i dont go down there anymore. I found the other entrance to the Rogue guild and i find no one to sell to so i wander around looking for NPC rogue merchants and bam i run in to his pet so i start running for the exit and i find a dead end. So i turn around and im attacked while running past. i get to the stairs to get out and suddenly i cant control my guy. I start thinking that theres a bug or something when i relized that he casted charm or me or something. While charmed i go downstairs and start attacking just about everyone down there and then i die. So i decide to just stay near the Rogue guild area and not run the tunnels when suddenly i find an old friend who tells me that i can sell to anyone if i use sneak and go behind them!! So i just died three times for nothing. Im going to form a party and go down there and kill him many times. Oh and the pet too. BTW I think hes a necro because he had the skeleton pet so Aelspeth and Valmir i think you should becare around NPC necros.

I'm an Erudite Necro, and am generally fairly careful running around new areas, but I was getting sloppy in the junkyard. I ran into the building without checking and without invis... saw Palatos Kynarn and immediately knew I could be in trouble, non-evil Erudites don't like us necros. So I tried to con him, but he turned around before I could...

Next thing I know, I've lost control of my actions, and am running around the junkyard. As it happens, I had cast a pet, which is unusualy, I don't walk around with a pet in the city, I don't know why this time was different. And suddenly I saw
Guard XXX says "Monks like you are an affront to my senses"
and then the guard killed my pet.

Monks???

Still charmed, I couldn't really figure out what was going on. I ended up frozen in place in a building, maybe the one I was first in, but I had no cursor, nothing worked except the keyboard, and I couldn't enter any movement commands. I could see shouts and guildspeak. I could do a /who, and saw that I was linkdead. (Interesting. How could you ever see that you're LD?)

I waited, I figured I was probably going to die, but I waited several minutes for something else to happen, and finally I just type /ex and restarted. When I succeeded in logging back in, I ran like heck and didn't have any more trouble from Palatos.

This is where it gets interesting.

A few minutes later, when I'd zoned into North Freeport, I received a /tell. "I spent an interesting few minutes as your pet," my correspondent said. I did a /who to discover he was a level 30 monk.

Apparently when Palatos charmed me, instead of attacking another player, the player got somehow confused with my pet. Guards aggroed on my *real* pet (but not me), confusing him with a monk, and the monk chased me around the junkyard for five minutes, not contacting me because I had a LD tag.

I have to believe that this is a bug, but it's the most interesting bug I've yet seen.

There was a Dark elf outside the Trader's Holiday, who was AFK. I was buying some bottles in the store when I suddenly get charmed by this guy. I am a dwarf cleric who is indifferent to guards and emrchants. He takes me outside the store and makes me help bash on this poor AFK dark elf. That guard also starts attacking the dark elf, and she dies. The dark elf got messages with my name bashing her. It was the oddest thing ever. And when the charm broke, Palatos let me walk off.

What the heck?? Charmed me too....

This was weird... Im a dark elf cleric and okay faction with freeport on everyone, basically glower or better, apprehensive militia, warmly or kindly to everyone in the sewers.

So I'm sitting there medding minding my own business when someone is casting ignite on me. I get up and druid player was, LD by their name (guess it says that when player charmed) meanwhile some guard Ranlan is hitting me for big giant damage, and Palatos charms me then it wears off. Some how I actually escaped running out of the sewers and zoning.

I think the druid bumped into them and it charmed her into the sewers then me.

Thing i cant figure out though is why? I have good factions with this guy I think.

I'm not sure why this guys agros, however I went back in to his haunt, and paid very close attention to what happends. I had been in there once before with my enchanter and nothing happened. This last time I notice that Calan Talespinner was the one that agro'd on me first. They seem to be a pair. I had accessed the vendor in the building and was fine until I backed away from him. Seems he feels that I should buy something if I ask to look at the fellows wares. I can come up with no other explaination.

I was outside the Armor shop doing a bit of smithing when these two (Canlan and Palatos Kynarns' pet) started beating on me. I barely made it around the corner before they killed me. On returning, I conned Canlan as 'dubious'. I have no idea why they attacked me!

I too, have fallen victim of him. I'm a DE Shadowknight. I have decent factions with the tradesfolk of Freeport. This guy and Cainlin aggroed on me. He charmed me and his pet dragged me off into the subterranean tunnels, so I wasn't killed, but was afraid the pet was going to take me off to North Freeport where the Knights of Truth hate my guts. I've never been so happy to Buer and Harkin. I've got really good faction with the rogues. I want to kill this guy. Repeatedly.

He is located near Hallard's Resale around the corner in a building. I am a Erudite Necormancer and can travel in east freeport without any trouble, until I ran into this guy, who charmed me and killed me.
