Alrik Farsight  

New, PL'ed 51 Druid, Alrik cons indifferent. Thought I'd take the easy route and kill the three inkie chicks in Neriak. I killed the three of them six times (18 kills) then went back. Alrik is still indifferent. Did the bat wing quest. Turned in 400 bat wings and ended up amiable. Went back to Alrik and spoke to him. Got the Crushed Pot.

Human ranger of Tunare. Started out dubious, had to sneak to get the task and do the first hand ins. (32 wings) By then I was indifferent. turned in total of 228 wings to find myself amiable and turned in a an extra 140 just to run it up a bit.

Went and had to do some correcting with the shrouding to get at least indifferent to be able to get the pots. Started to do the batwing hand ins and used a shroud for some of it. Be careful. If you try one lvl of shroud you might have to redo some of it when you use another lvl shroud. When you can stand in front of her and not have sneak on in that rogue form, then you're doing good. I was playing spin the HE for several hours as a gobby rogue with needing to stand behind her for the hand ins. At least then she won't turn around.
Something else that you can try if you have a shammy buddy is see if he can make you several High Elf potions os that you look like a HE. She doesn't have a problem and you'll be indifferent. After 600 hand ins for today I was at least indiffernt as my proper self. Mind you that doesn't mean I don't want to kill a couple of the High Elfs later on.

Oh and during all of this, I was amiable to every High Elf guard in Felwithe .

Must be amiable to Alrik to get him to stop walking and speak to you when you hail him. After hailing him, first say, "How do you make and ancient bowl" and then, "I wish to take the artifact". The druid epic walkthrough fails to mention the second statement, and I was near pounding my head against a wall in utter frustration until a fellow druid clued me into the second statement. Said both things to Alrik, and he gave me the crushed pot, easy as pie.

I was just curious as to what wolf form would do. I cast it and he went from not talking to me, to giving me the artifact.

Just something to try before wasting time with batwings.

15 stacks of batwings to Amiable @ level 46. I think those of you in faction hell were bad bad druids!

Dashalo Dalroshan in the Bazaar sells un unlimited supply of BAT WINGS (1 sil ea with lousy Cha). The two mentioned named in Neriak don't exist anymore (as of 11-11-05)

He wonders around on an island in the west. Location is -5777, 2885.
The earlier post is way off.

OK had to do batwing quest took about 300 or so to get to amible from indif. Only catch is that it seemed i had to do em one ata time. weird. But anyway. Go check your faction with him. (use lev to avoid big swim) Turn in some wings and head back. Took me about an hour to do this part. Good luck.

Got the artifact at amiably(may have been high amiably). Took 30min of bat wings. I just gated to pok, run straight, there is a dark elf merchant thru that archway at the building, he sold batwings. I was bound at Niola, gate, start handing in bat wings. Keep the lvl 1 spell you get, and sell back to merchant to recoup some of your money spent on batwings.

Just gave 580 batwings ( 29 stacks ) to Niola. Went from Indiff to amiably in 30min.

EDIT: 29 more stacks of batwings to kndly now.

Total of 1160 batwing turnins to Niola to raise faction from indif to kindly!.

Total time to complet 1 hour 10 min

All peoples wil say to you go Find NIOLA in Mag guild in Felwihe southe and make the batwings quest for a while till you get ALLY faction, BUT, it can happen when u hand batwings to NIOLA, she take them, eat, them and say to you something like : I 'll do nothign to help being like you...AND No FACTION HIT ! THEN STOP, do not try more, go spend only 1hour in WC kill Kizdean 5 or 6 times, time repop is about 8 10 min, camp near INN near guard outpost he pop just here =) then when u get bored, take a friend, and go to neriak ! Fun and nice =)

When u enter in Neriak, in front of you there is 2 guards, + 1 other who comes sometimes in the middle, 3 sister T'empi thingy are UP with another guards.

All guards con green at 54, sister con DB but i resisted all them spell and trust me my resist are really bad (under 50).

So, invis you, then go in this little caste, tunr immediatly left, open door, go up, turn immetiatly left again and go at the end of this path to camp sister.

Then, root dot, nuke, sometimes a guard comes, np kill it too, not same guard as in nektulos and dont give u back opposite faction so No probleme, sister give u a real good and fast faction, u loot a robe, MAGIC, LORE int +4 and 4 resist cold, fire, etc.. Necro only, u can sell =)

Time repop is, about 10 or 15 minute kill it 4 or 5 times.., u get bored? Ok we go back to NIOLA now, make ur backpack full of batwings, try.., and U SEE ! U r indifferent and she give u faction now!

220 batwings and 30/40 min later ur an Ally and u can head to ARLIK =)

I just got the ancient pattern today for my ranger & thanx to a guildee's advice it couldn't have been simpler. take along a wizzie / druid buddy & catch the boat from oasis of marr to the first island with the ogres. on the beach have the wizzie / druid lesser evac or succor which will take you within spitting diatance of the chessboard.

get the bowl from alrik & port out to GFay to hand in bowl to farios & do his errands & once you have the reciept just do the same thing over to get ancient pattern from alrik.

we did this part in less than an hour & it was cake.

also i got my faction to ally with farios before doing this part & alrik conned indiff to me.

well hope this saves someone some time.

i just came from trying to get the bowl from him and he said the same thing, I most prove myself to him. Problem is it doesnt list the faction that he has, or who or what i need to do in order to get better faction for him! Seams someone missed that point when making this page about him....

Well here is one ranger who tried to talk to Alrik. Although he cons apprehensively, I found that he was ever so rude. He started to walk away the second I hailed him and he called me 'slime'. He said to my druid friend that we needed to prove our dedication. He probably conned amiably to my friend; we forgot to check. Should we be an ally before he gives us what we want: The crushed pot?! He really hated me now, that's for sure.


Anyway, we are now going to turn in stacks of batwings to Niola Impholder in South Felwith. It may take up over 20 stacks (I should be an ally to her already) to gain faction. After that, we'll pay Alrik another visit. See if he changed his mind about me/us.

Does anyone know how to raise his faction? Or what faction he is on? I've found he will not speak with me and must raise it.

Any help would be appreciated :)
