[Tue Jul 04 11:15:52 2017] Brunar Rankin is struck by a blazing summer's dew.
[Tue Jul 04 11:15:52 2017] You have slain Brunar Rankin!

Based on dubious con I believe he is on Coalition of Tradefolk Underground. I am indifferent to Coalition of Tradefolk.

He glared at me threateningly! ME! Can you believe it?

Nonetheless, upon my hail he gave me the note instantly (Pally 1.5). I thought he started attacking me shortly after that, but it was only his fishing animation...

Fishing Pole?
# Jun 26 2001 at 7:26 PM Rating: Default
Does he really?
I've never noticed that. He comes over and says "Ho hum what a lovely day." And then runs back to his fishing spot.

If you hail him when he is standing by the bait shop (At least that's what I call it) he appologises for how he smells and says something about having to fish day and night to feed his family.

One wierd (and handy) thing about my being a master fisherman is the all NPC's that are fishermen (save Bait Masterson) look upon me warmly, as does the girl at the FP dock. Now that I've read this, I may consider killing Brunar, and see if he drops the girls fishing pole. Possibly a quest to get her pole back?

Next time I'm in FP I'm gonna have to check this out.

Being a master fisherman doesn't affect your faction. My skill in fishing is 120, and it hasn't changed my faction with anyone.

Isn't a "master" someone who has achieved level 250 in a skill, generally speaking?
I know the game says your skill is master, but usually, when we speak of smiths or tailors, the only ones worthy of the name are the 250 skill experts.

Actually, I just tried to kill him and he did run to the guards in the Port Authority. They killed me shortly after all of this, so I would be careful if you are going to try killing him.

If you're a good character I don't see a problem with killing him... problem is, every time I've killed him, he has no loot! Nada. Pretty bad. However, in all of my battles with him, he has fought to the death (ie. hasn't run to aggro guards). But he can get a few good hits in... just watch the faction ;)

A thief! He walks over to some woman and steals her fishing pole. Talk to the barkeep in that area, ask about Brunar. He'll give you the lowdown.
