Anyone know how to raise faction with this dude?

I found out how. In the corridor by his room is a dwarf that likes muffins. You can hand him a muffin. That raises this Jyle faction along with other various High Elf factions. When the Dwarf becomes amiable Jyle should be amiable too.
Correct Jyl Windshot for this quest is in West Freeprt... There is a different bow with similar stats that involves the East Freeport verson... Correct or specification needed

If you're looking to get wood from Jyle (heh) then you better have better than indifferent faction with him.

So there are at least two Jyle Windshot's? I know the one for the trueshot is on the second floor of the Hogcaller Inn in West Freeport. He is behind the first door to the left if you are facing Pandos Flintside, the dwarf who likes muffins (get a little xp and faction for giving Pandos muffins). Anyway, in my opinion this npc should be listed as a quest npc and not a monster, because he is in fact a quest npc.
Not sure about the one at the docks in East Freeport, wish i hadn't destroyed my newbie tunic, I'd like to see what the "imposter" gives for the tunic, if anything.

The Jyle in the Seafarer's Roost cons green to me even at 4L! ButI didn't try to kill him cuz...well, I don't even know the guy, I have no reason to kill him, heheh.

Dont go near the seafarers roost if u r a shadow knight. He attacks on sight, i died the first time, and only got my corpse back with a sow. First thing when i get to a higher lvl is kick his sorry butt. Mind u stay away from the roost altogether if your an evil class.

i am currently trying to get the trueshot and have given him 15 small lanterns but no treant wood what am i doing roung

it depends on which Jyle the one in east freeport wants your newbiee tunic

I know of two jyles, one in west fp in hogcallers in. That one is of high level and gives you treant wood if you bring him a small lantern. somtimes he gives a tree heart instead, this is for the enchanted bow quest, to get the raincaller, the next incarnation of trueshot longbow. The other Windshot i know of is in east freeport, in the inn att the dock. This one is thought to be an imposter, but i don't think he is. I decided to find out by killing him, he conned green to me at 12 but he got me down to 1½ bubble of hp before running. when i killed him it totally destroyed my faction with faydarks champions. I wasn't able to train skills with any of the trainers anymore, so now i'm desperatly trying to raise faction again (so i can put my 1 needed point into med). Because of the heavy loss of faction i do no longer think he is an imposter, but i still can't understand why there are two (or more?) different jyles
ditto for me i killed the one in EFP with my lvl 12 druid and immediately went KoS with the randers in GFay, at lvl 25 i'm still trying to raise my faction, and it's only up to treateningly

When i started the Trueshot quest(before i talked to Maesyn that is) i was in WFP and saw Jyle. So i gave him a SMALL lantern, and he gave me nothing. Then once i started the quest, i gave him another one and he gave me a wooden heart NO DROP LORE ITEM. okay now you know my problem. I am Redwall the warrior(i did NOT get my name from the books i have never heard of them sry) and right now i am in FP looking for more lanterns. I am on the Xegony channel so if you can plz help me. This stupid piece of wood is all i need besides the dwarf wire and i am gonna pick that up on my way home(i'm a dwarf) so if your ever on and know the answer plz tell me for now i'll just /petition WTF is up with this punk hehe.

First time I gave lanterns to this guy, he gave me stuff which worked to create the treantwood bowstaff, but the following time he gave me wood chips which did not work! Is there yet another imposter? He was in the hogcaller inn.

He conned green to me at 15, and I was bored waiting for the boat, and decided to kill the impostor and maybe save some newbies from losing their tunic (and thinking they can do the trueshot quest only once).
Unfortunately slaughtering Jyle #2 devastates faction with:

Soldiers of Tunare
King Tearis Thex
Corrupt Qeynos Guards
Coalition of Tradesfolk Illegal (Freeport Rogues)
The rangers guild in Kelethin, normally amiable to my Ranger, went straight to threatening from this single kill. Unless you want to spend a couple months shoving literally thousands of muffins into Pandos's mouth, do not kill the "fake" Jyle.

Heehee, ok, so the Jyle in EFP in the seafarer's roost admits to being an impostor, and is significantly lower level than the one in WFP in the Hogcaller's inn. the impostor cons green at 18, so he's probably the lvl 3 one.

There is 2 Jyle Windshots in Freeport(as far as I know). Both are for the quest but each one needs a differnt item.
The one in east Freeport in the Aeafarers roost(I Think thats the one) asks for "One of those nifty Faydark champion tunics" when you ask him for the Treant wood. Give him your newbie ranger tunic(only if you started in kelethin)and get the wood.
The one in West Freeport in the Hog callers inn will not respond for when you ask him for the wood(Maybe he does I tried differnt way but no response). Give him a small lantern and he will give you the Treant wood.(Every like 4th or 5th he give you a Treant heart I've heard.)

There is a Jyle Windshot in West Freeport fairly often. He stands around in the magic guild area and casts spells. I ran into him one day after he apparently chased someone into North Freeport and was headed back home. He hit my Erudite necromancer with a spell, rooted him when he ran, and killed him with a 65-point punch. He doesn't like necros.

This guy is like dorn, total mis-con. He conned low blue to me at level 6 with my rogue but he absolutely kicked my ***. I hardly landed any hits and he was hitting me for 20 30. Really sucked I must say, and no guards will help you. It was sad seeing my poor gnomish body broken on the floor =(

The Jyle Windshot that is on the second floor of the Hogcallers in is the guy that gives you a Treant heart or a piece or Treant wood when you give him a SMALL lantern. He belongs to thr Faydark Champions faction (same as Pandios Flintside).

No way in hell he is level 3.. He conned green to my level 16 Paladin (it was a long time ago I think I was level 16) and kicked my ***. I am talking about the one in East Freeport on the 2nd floor of that bar place..
