Some friends and I got 3 brains in about an hour or an hour and a half. We camped inside the tunnel (definitely better than all the adds on the outside) and pulled from both outside and inside. Killed pretty steadily, though I didn't keep count of how many we killed. 60 Cleric, 51 Cleric, 60 Shaman, 43 Bard.

Now, on to The Burning Priest (ugh)

Easy solo

With level 53Bst, Solo these all day long, have even taken 2 at a time on 3-4 occasions when the tunnel spawn poped on me as i pulled one from cave..
They are fairly Magic resistant, although i can get my poison based DOT to stick like 95% of the time...but debuff and slow sometimes takes a few....Wife has 59 Drood and had a hard time snaring or rooting though...They can be, but root breaks very quick...
I dont think they have quite 3K HPs though, seemed more like 2 to maybe 2.5K to me....
1 450dam DOT, and me & pet, take em out in under a min..
They do NOT cast at all, just Melee...

Good Solo spot for low 50s....and they do have a fairly big aggro range, so need to be carefull, can pull more than you handle in a heartbeat.
class?

just a question, are these a caster class or do they just try to melee you to death?

I've heard from many ppl that these mobs are chanters and cast spells that a chanter of the same lvl might. I also have a question regarding these mobs, how well would a lvl 54 dru mage and a lvl 52 pally own these green morons in thier own cave? If you have any info on this questions pls post it here, thanks =p

well i'm a 56 Pally and i solo them. you should do reasonably well. Just a word of warning; They are very social (they will aggro if one of their own is in melee) and they have a very large aggro range, especially inside their own cave.

I've been fighting them for a while looking for that stupid brain, and I've seen nothing to indicate that they are any class other than a warrior class. There has been no spell casting from any of the one's I've come in contact with.

These cannot be feared. I (bard) was attempting to fear-kite with a ranger and got the "The monster is immune to fear." message.

That's rather strange, because I seem to recall being able to land fear on these as an SK. Just couldn't land a snare to save my life on any of them that weren't green.. Landed snare just once on a light blue. I'll have to check again on the fear though. Might have been one of the other similar mobs in the cave.

Just a few things...
# Apr 26 2002 at 2:39 PM Rating: Excellent
First of all - these things are moderately magic resistant. My 52 Druid had problems sticking snare and root wouldn't hold for more than a few seconds. However they almost always took full damage from Starfire so they seem to have a low Fire Resistance.

They have a respawn rate of 12 minutes. There is one that spawns in the actual tunnel into the caves. I was able to snare him and then just run back and forth inside the tunnel casting Starfire and taking a hit or two as I ran past the snared Thought Leech. They have around 3000 HP.

I was able to kill the tunnel spawn, then the one right inside the cave and med back to full just in time for respawn. They hit in the 70-ish range and hit often and fast - so I did take a bit of damage if they stunned me.

Faction hits:

Your faction standing with Thought Leeches got worse.
Your faction standing with Seru got better.
Your faction standing with Hand of Seru got better.
Your faction standing with Eye of Seru got better.
Your faction standing with Heart of Seru got better.
Your faction standing with Shoulders of Seru got better.
Your faction standing with Citizens of Seru got better.
Your faction standing with Recuso got worse.

As you can see - they are excellent if you need to improve faction with Seru for some reason.

Resisted 3 / 3 roots from a 60 cleric. So I just meleed and nuked it to death. Also resisted 4 / 7 nukes from a 60 cleric. Theoretically only takes about 3 nukes to kill, but if you're using MR based damage spells expect to burn twice or triple as much mana killing them.

It is a component for the final stage of the quest for the shield of bane warding, given in Katta Castellum. Have a look at the Rakhasia (sp?) skulls quest there.
