I found him today 6-18-12 Directly west of the PoK Book near some tents took him out ealiy as lvl 73 war with T1 Journey man healer merc
dropped an Excellent Animal Pelt for me today along with robes
Also dropped lvl 69 scroll today.........
If you are going to kill this guy highly recommend that you have a melee friend melee him down instead of trying to use spells. Tower geared 85 druid - he resisted virtually every spell I cast and then resisted every ensnare and ran away with rapid health regen. Ended up bringing in rogue who quickly destroyed him - lol - dropped Shiny Mettalic Robe. No apparent faction hit either

Found him near 638, -1385 today. After the quest stage was completed he then promptly took of and wandered past the PoK book toward the opposite end of the zone.
Found Yendar Starpyre at -635, -750... Straight east from PoK book, close to bones. Stood there with him for about 15 minutes with me while I was foraging on druid.

Yea I was fighting him in Steamfont and he kept regening back up to 100% when id get him to 98%. Boxed a 74 cleric, 64 chanter and 70 Necro. Wtf...

His brother is Tobon Starpyre, the Wizard guildmaster in Ak'anon, not that librarian guy in pok.
If you hail Tobon and ask "What about Yendar" he will give you his little speil about Yendar and tell you that he thinks he's in Steamfont, though I don't know if it actually aids in spawning the little bastage, as I've been searching for hours on end for him.

Just soloed him with lvl 70 ranger - self buffs only + haste potion. used warder's wrath disc, and 1 elixir of healing potion x potion. Summons, runs at low health, highly magic resistant - most nukes and procs didnt land. Resisted prismatic snare. Dropped robes, no faction hits.
Yendar drops the Shining Metallic Robes, which previously were only dropped by the Ghoul Arch Magus in Lower guk. Took Yendar down today with me (52 rogue) 70 cleric, 62 Shadow Knight, 65 Bard, and 65 Ranger. If you are looking for the Shining Metallic Robes, this is much easier than camping the Ghoul Arch Magus for X number of days. Hope this is a help.

He may drop them, but killing him can really jack up things for people trying to spawn Renux for 1.0 or for folks working on 1.5/2.0

So come back in 6 hours? Or are you suggesting that killing him completely ruins the whole epic 1.5/2.0, Yendar will NEVER spawn again and you should delete your rogue and start playing Baldur's Gate??

This fellow appears to be on about a six hour timer. I tried spawning him for 2 hours around 6pm. No luck spawning him. At 11pm that same night, I watched a group (65 BST, 65 ROG) spawn him and kill Renux. I tried spawning him right after without any success. 7 hours later, I watched another group (65 RNG, 65 CLR, 52 ROG) spawn him and kill Renux. I again tried spawning him without success. 6 1/2 hours later, my group (47 RNG, 55 CLR, 55 MAG, 64 SHM, 61 WIZ, 53 ROG) spawned him and killed Renux.

I was running all over the place looking for him with my rogue last night, and couldn't find him anywhere. So I logged in my druid to see if I could track him down. He spawned right in the middle of my search (no wonder I couldn't find him) at the merchant buildings in the north central part of the zone. He was pathing along the wall with the wall to his right.

I con'd him at 65 today when I spawned him. I've never had any trouble getting him to show up before. Simply talk to his brother in ak'anon if he isn't up and ask 'what about yendar'. Very soon after he should spawn in steamfont. Has always worked for me in the past. 2 rogue epics and 3 HIE masks.

Tomorrow maybe... Been looking for this guy for hours and hours. Brings back nightmares of looking for the gnome in Skyfire for my mage epic *shudders*. Lol.

he is no longer a triggered spawn if he ever was, I got a raid set up to take him today, brought a group and a half of peeps over to steamfont, went in to trigger him and he never showed. I went to trigger him 3 times, and some other people tried it thinking maybe my faction (indiff) was too low. He never showed up on either of the 2 rangers or 3 druids tracks (had them stationed at mills and kobold camp (rangers) one druid was at dragon bones other 2 wandering)

It works sometimes (by going into the library and talking to saying to his brother "who is yendar"). I tested it a few times and it worked. But... when I got my group together to kill Renux for my epic I couldn't get the little gnome to spawn. I tried it the next day and he was spawned.

While camping Watchman Halv today I saw this guy walk by on the road. He passed within two feet of where my pet was fighting Halv and kept on going.

He is a magician, and he spawns at the dragon skeleton at around -1000 -1000.

I also saw him span at the dragon skeleton, you have to be indifferent or better to get this message, but he says "Greetings Gishtar, I know your meeting me here was no coincidence. I sense you need me for something."
aye, i'm curious if he drops the SMR as well. Although at level 63, he would be a tough one to snag it from...

I just 2 boxed him with my 73 druid and my hubby's 75 cleric. The cleric tanked but couldn't get any spells to land on him. The druid's swarms DOTs did actually land most of the time. It took two tries (since I didn't discover which spells were really sticking until I was too low on mana to finish him off), but the second time was pretty easy. Second time, I dropped all nukes and had out 4 swarms DOTs. Somehow, the cleric managed to keep aggro even when it was my DOTs that were killing him. He did run and none of my snares or roots would stick but the DOTs finished him off. He dropped the robe for my little rogue :)
