an optimistic stonegrabber  

I have camped this spawn for over 14 hours and finally the Optimistic spawned! Here is what I did. I killed all 8 Stonegrabber's that can spawn in the 3 camps (1 cycle). I then noticed this pattern in how the names spawn. After 2 cycles of normal Stonegrabbers a Natural Stonegrabber would spawn in the camp by the vendors (northeastern most camp). Then next cycle a Clay Stonegrabber spawn in the southeastern camp. Next cycle a lunar Stonegrabber popped. About 3 cycles, if I remember right a Studded Stonegrabber popped on the northeastern camp. Now I had to wait about 5 more cycles then the above listed pop order started over but instead of the Studded Stonegrabber I got the Optimistic Stonegrabber in the northeastern camp. Good luck everyone because this spawn sucks!

Camped all 3 camps for 3 hours. Nothing. Hope everyone else is luckier than myself, or has alot of patience for this damn shiny rock.

Spawns at loc 862, -1140. Of the three stonegrabbers here, this is the northeastern one.
Placeholder is 'a stonegrabber’ - and can also spawn as A Hardened Stonegrabber.
There are 8 total stonegrabbers in zone, each on a 13 minute respawn time.

Spent a lot of time running between the 3 sets of stonegrabbers that I could find. The first set of 3 is fairly close to the Dawnshroud Sellers camp (located just a bit SE of the zonein from Neth Lair or at #2 on the EQAtlas map), the second set of 3 was a ways south of the first set, and the third set (of 2) was up the dry riverbed from set 2, towards the NW. All spawned standing up near groups of rocks, but they fall over after about 30 seconds, making them a little bit hard to see until you get close. Wolves and lightcrawlers will constantly add in to the battles, even though they are green, so be prepared for them. Regular stonegrabbers seem to be indifferent, whereas the named ones were KOS. I'm still not sure if the named ones always spawn in the same spot, or if you just have to farm them all, but for what its worth, the optimistic stonegrabber spawned for me at:

For the directionally challenged among us, it was in the set of three closest to the Dawnshroud Sellers. Hope this shortens a few camps.

For those of you who beat this guy. . .where did you find him?

He seems to be standing up, instead of lying down like the rest. Also, he's ready to attack, as opposed to the indifferent of the regular stonegrabbers. Should be easy to spot

The hope diamond is also used in Drelynn's Gem Collection quest found in the Plane of Knowledge. This is one of four gems needed to complete the quest resulting in the Fine Antique Veil AC +4 STA +4 +INT +4 CHA +4 HP+10 effect: Improved healing II.

Got Hope Diamond last night as well from this mob. It does not show up on the TW quest armor site link. Not sure what its for. Some druid claimed he needed it but I didnt see it on druid quest sheet.
