Fabled version spawns the fabled AoW. Fabled version was DB to an 85 and drops "nothing" also...(it droped cobalt ore for us today)

well, me (85 wiz) and a friend (85 war) did this whole cycle in bout 20 mins.
was pretty fun and straight forward. only problem was AoW got us when we were afk and i managed to get back before he killed us. was overall good for me, got a SBoZ, BoC and flayed mask while war got helm for fun. very soloable by monks now

4 minute fight parsed: 625,000 hp's (I'm assuming at least 25k is from regen)
he did 500dps to me (84 cleric 1kaa's, 3k ac//25000hp's)
High hit was 1060
Avg hit was 430

The similarities between fighting the idol and the statue are significant. The idol's attack speed is reasonably higher than the statue. He's much much much harder to slow. Even with slow it seemed he was attacking faster than the Statue was unslowed. My group that can take out Vindi and the statue was found lacking when it came to this encounter.

He is Bad A$$.. His lowest hit was for 200 And his highest was 1200... He enrages at 10% and it lasts for 2 minutes. He has around 10 million Hitpoints. and he dropd nothing, He spawns Avatar of War and the AOW is only up for 15 minutes, so do your rezzes and buffs quick.

He so doesn't have 10 million hp :p
We got the bright idea we would try this little run and without ever having done it really. Looked at some of the info on all three mobs and so forth put together a on the fly trial strategy. Went pretty bad but this post is more on the weirdness of what happened and maybe someone can answer it. We killed Vindi then i as puller moved into toward the statue got there and the statue was not up. Had the ranger with us do track and had the Idol of Rallos Zek up instead. Not knowing exactly where this tunnel is etc i moved around the arena are looking for it so forth lol and from outside comes the Idol and up the right hand ramp around the outside of arena to the raid party. Of coarse we wiped pretty hard but gave it a good shot. After more research more in depth i see statue is first idol then avatar. Which statue is in temple then idol is in tunnel which entrance seems to be on the right hand side in temple and then avatar spawns in arena. Trying to figure out right now why idol spawned and no statue of rallos zek right after vindi was killed. Any clues on this?
Vindi and SoRZ arent connected in terms of spawning together or spawning each other, Idol was up because someone killed SoRZ which spawns Idol but they didnt kill him, just left him up

Killed this guy for my first time in a pick up raid. We had a shortage of clerics (2) but an abundance of pallys and druids. Amazingly enough,...this was plenty for Vindi/statue/idol/AoW. We had a huge force, so it was likely we were not losing, but it was funny to see 2 clerics , and the rest patch healers keep the main tank going. It was fun.

Ok can this thing bee Mezzed or not? Can he be slowed or not? Boes he spawn right on the body of the dead statue or not? If cant be mezzed what will it take to kill him? Pls help me out if u can it will help a lot
Also note that Idol is a great way to test your guilds readiness for AoW. If you cant take Idol slowed, you arent ready for AoW. Slowed idol isnt tough, unslowed its a whole different ball game. AoW is no easy mob, hits hard, hits fast, and hes all melee. Better have great DPS and some high mana pool clerics on hand for him.

I finally found this mystery tunnel last night when we managed to get to Statue before someone else got it done. Idol was hard to find, but is in a tunnel directly under the temple and adjacent the pvp area of the arena.
The only way I found to get in to that tunnel was to go through a hidden 'door' to the right of where the Statue spawns. I trained my way down this rather long corridor, FD'ing every so often and allowing the mobs I'd been training to return to spawn point. That gets me right in front of Idol. Behind the idol, there's another 'hidden' exit that takes you to the arena. It might be possible to levitate across from arena to get idol without training through, but I've not checked it.
You can then pull Idol solo into arena pvp area. If you don't want to fight him there, you can clear through the Priests area to the "arena camp" - where folks farm giants for armor drops usually.

In case you didn't understand Azatoth, he means that after you kill the Idol, he spawns the all mighty Avatar of War who drops one of the most expensive weapons in the game known as the Blade of Carnage among other nice loot :)

If he's up, send a tell to a raid leader of a higher end guild if you dont want him there, his death spawns the AOW...

YOu got the avatar of war with that group? Did you chanter have DC or wizards both have MB before nerf? Cause your group doesnt look like it had dps, though 6 clerics ...

ok this guy is not an exact duplicate of the Statue, hes harder. and he give NO faction when killed.
Heh, if you're not sure whether or not this guy is up while soloing in the arena, be careful. I was with a friend today, both with dire charmed pets, and pulled an Adjutant from one of the little stair coves. I tash, start running back to where our pets are parked, and my groupmate is yelling stuff in groupchat, along the lines of "@!#$#@($" and stuff :p I turn around, see this mofo and start casting gate, type /pet attack faster than I ever have before, and we actually both survived. He quadded my pet for 1100.

On the Povar server this guy has been roaming a lot and going through walls to take out raid parties - he's even been to the bank.. without being pulled. Just wondering if anyone else has noticed a similar problem?
He's also been seen wandering around like that on the Firiona Vie server although he wasn't spotted leaving the arena yet. Still he was the death of pullers of raids several times and I even saw him aggro once when the puller was on the ramp up to the arena. Petitions fixed the problem for once but a week later the Idol was taking a walk again.

As of tonight, he's still creating catastrophes on Firiona Vie server, as he wiped our raid party thrice and a separate raid party once who was there as well.
I don't need to add my two cents about how powerful he is, but I would say that it's very humbling to be erased so quickly at this level of the game.

Yes, and he will leave the arena but only if aggroed or as an add if you are fighting near arena entry. We had just pulled one and another popped, we charmed the pop and were having a merry old time. Giant one goes down, start on giant two and right before it falls I see some black thing (this was my first trip to arena.)
Within 20 seconds our 2 groups were wiped, I tried to Gate and the moment I started casting he doubled for 1105. Thing was Statue on Crack, we had a 58 SK, 56 Warrior, and all others 50+ but we were toast.

Yep, idol attacked a group of us faction farming near arena entrance.

The first time I saw this sucker I was on a raid with a allied guild to the arena for the quest armor loot. We had spent about 6 or 7 hours in this place, only had to CR once from too many adds. We come back after our CR and make our way to the arena and we start pulling mobs. One of the higher lvl guilds on the server was claiming to be killing the Idol so we thought there was no danger from him. We were killing one of the giants and all of the sudden this guy runs up to help the giant. I had enough time to THINK to say "WTF" before this thing eats our tanks and kills me. I was hit for 1100 and 780 dmg. One of our members was hit for 1665 (dont quote me on this i didnt actually see it. Lets just say this guy took out 2 full groups of basically 50+ out in about 8 seconds. I hear the only way to beat this guy is to have a tank with around 6000 HP to be the main tank, and 8 clerics chain CHing him.
Good luck with this guy if your going after him :)

Hehe, had a similar experiance when hanging out with a small group of guildies farming faction... I remember thinking exactly "WTF, why is that strange looking troll running at our group?!?!" .. then i saw the cleric saying bye in guild chat as i got hit for 1800's...lasted about 6 seconds, though at the time was pretty happy to see a few misses in there.
I have to say though, it was probably one of the funniest things that ever happened to me in eq just because i can imagine everyone with the same confused look on our faces.

I have screenshots of this bitz owning a whole raid. It bugged and spawned him in the arena. anyways. The head GM of the server (Oribi) was there to clear it all up for us.
