this guy is triggered as u can also tell from other posts. u kill all 4 of the masters to trigger Doomshade. on zam's spawn times says 3 hours for respawn, which is incorrect. It is a 3day respawn.

I kill doomshade on a regular basis, and here is how it is done.

1. First you want to try to clear as many possible adds as you can. What I usually do is gather a train of dark assassins and just obliterate them with either a riposte disc on the monk or a few barrage of arrows on the ranger. This wipes them out quick.

2. Next, you want to kill the dark masters. They have a sufficient amount of hp compared to the assassins. Be prepared for adds that you did not kill to agro you. I usually get all of the dark masters to about 20% then start killing them off one by one.

3. When all dark masters are dead, wait around in their house for at least five minutes. I have seen doomshade take anywhere from 10 seconds to 5 minutes to pop, and he DOES NOT give off an emote anymore, nor do the masters. First thing you will see is him swinging at you.

4. Pull doomshade to the entrance by Maiden's eye and engage. I like to kill off any adds first then pound him into the ground. Whatever floats your boat is fine.

5. Loot up and enjoy! I use this technique to gear out level 1 characters.

EDIT - Bow of Doom, Pebble Crusher, and Darkblood Sword are by far his most common drops. Be prepared to kill him a lot to find the earring of endless speed.

How often can you do this? I imagine she doesn't pop every time you kill the masters. What is the time frame one has to wait between dropping her?

In place of step 1, I typically just pull them to the entrance. Don't go directly there, but slightly northwest – this helps to avoid the gantrus outside the entrance. I typically get only about 3 adds doing this. Even as a monk, I'm almost certain that it takes less time to pull them and kill 3 adds than to round up all the assassins and Whirlwind them.

One other note that I didn't realize before: most of Doomshade's loot table can be obtained by killing Tawro and Radir, who have been up every time I go there. It looks like there are 3 mediocre items with mana regen or haste that they don't drop.

Killed Doomshade quite a few times. How I usualy do it is pull all the 4 Dark Masters at the same time (try to dodge as many adds as possible on the way back) and kill them. Know that you can take 4 Harm Touches before you go there, anyone 70+ should resist or have HPs to take it, so not bid deal. - Think it's a 20 min timer since you kill your 1st dark master, so you have plenty of time to kill the remaining 3.

When lvl 70 was max, me and friend killed Doomshade fairly easy, using shaman / beastlord tank and druid heal some and dps. Has a fair ammount of hp, but not a very tough fight. Just be carefull, he can flurry a lot, so don't feel safe and let tanks hp go really far down before healing (un less you want to keep warrior enraged for more dps :p)

Easily Soloable by a 74 Paladin tacvi/anguish geared 1414 AA.
pulled dark master and killed him off to side along with about 8 adds.

Went to middle and killed other 3, pulled last off to side and proceeded to kill adds that had come along as I was working on those 3.
this is such an easy fight, but keep in mind that Ward of Tunare is key to this fight for a paladin.
keep casting it throughout fight.
I had 3 adds on me even as I was killing Doomshade and it was easy.

Drops were hoarsthair hammer, pebblecrusher, Crystal Enervated Armband, bracelet of fortitude and the temp drop for that cloak of truth quest.


I decided that there was no sense in trying to pull to ME zone as I would get adds anyway it went, so proceeded to kill him off to side of the building he spawned in.
Easier dealing with undead adds then live adds, though I did happen to catch agro from 3 zelniaks.

Zoned to UP today,
I play war/dru combo, i zone with Druid second, i switch back to War and hes getting pounded. I immediately think "PVP!" since i play on Zek
But lo and behold, it's Doomshade, so i think "neat! I'll kill him"


Came out of that fight with all my damn discs down, epic clicked 3 times and druid OOM.
Lol, anguish geared tank and qvic/1.5 geared druid with 8.5k mana.

Very fun and challenging fight for a hydra team. Did him with 3 (dru-enc-cle) since my stupid mage died on the pull. Took a while to beat down his Luclin era 250k hps. Literally cast the cleric's final CH at 4% and then beat the mob down the final 10khps using chained chanter runes. Dropped 4 items for my twinks and 2 spells so well worth the effort.

Well we decided to have a go at Doomshade last night. 1st attempt we had 2 groups, and cleric ditched us right before we got to the dark masters. 70 Warrior was main tank, also had 70 shammy (boxed by war), 70 mage, my 68 SK, a 68 wiz, 61 rogue plus a slew of DPS.

The dark masters part was a pain because of all the adds, and not having a true healer tends to make some people nervous. I pulled the 1st 3 one at a time, then took a med break before getting last one. Killed all 4 in about 15 mins.

About a minute later, Doomshade popped right in the middle of where the masters were. We got her down to about 40%, then all the dark masters popped again and we were wiped soon there after.

Set up raid again, Doomshade was still up but this time we only had about a group and a half and still no cleric. By this point the few of us there from the 1st round are just after revenge on this thing, nothing more. Pulled her to ME zoneline, and killed there. Took a long time, but didn't lose anyone.

Droppped the Haste earring which I won in a roll, rod of virtue, petrified rod, Bracelet of Comprehension spell: KEI and a song: Warsong of the Vah Shir.

Note of advice...don't try to kill in the middle where she spawns...learned that one the hard way :-)

I was just wondering how long it takes from the time she is killed till she can be spawned again ? Someone previously guessed it was three days, but i was looking to have this confirmed if possible. Thank you in advance !

How can you tell if he respawns? I mean you have to kill 4 darkmasters within 20 min to spawn him. So it's not like he normally just sits around. I killed 4 darkmasters in less than 10 min today. But he didn't spawn.

hits for 600,s flurrys allot has around 250k hp high ac like all luclin mobs need about 1 12k hp tank with 1 cleric or 10k tank with cleric and druid etc

Doomshade is spawned bye killing the 4 dark masters within 20mins so clock starts tickign after u kill the first Dark master doomshade is UNSLOWABLE and can best be pulled bye rangers or druid with the instand camou aa

also 1 grouped him easy GL with it

Hate to break it to you but there are see invis mobs throughout the zone, yes i know cause i've tried to invis around. They ain't undead either thats for sure. Always knew you were to stupid for your own good. Now i can understand why, ha, even if the post is a year old.

Ok so i think this is what happens first you hear the darkmasters chant so you pull/kill them then DS pops? how long does he take to pop after DMs are down

highly doubt 1 65 bst, EP geared or not can do it, I'm 70 Qvic/Tacvi geared and need a good healer to even attempt him, non slowable mobs are bad for beastlords.

Have heard a guildie of mine soloed this (was told by another guildie that saw him do it)...never seen it personally but I believe it...can solo almost all the UP names I think...except RC


The soloing technique wasn't totally "legal" by SOE terms but yes I have personally seen him solo every named in UP

killed him with 65Pal, 65Rog, 65Shm, and 65Dru took bout 20min shm dru switch off healing had my 46 shm there chain casting greater healing, but didn't need it... Had no prob at all during fight... it was alot more fun then a raid...heh

Popping Doomshade is easy and here is how you do it.Doomshade is a 3day random pop. If you are in UP and you see a message like "the dark masters begin to chant to coming of doom" doom is able to be popped.you have to kill the 4 dark masters within 20mins...Sounds easy.without a force to handle the adds it can get hairy.after the DM's are down you see a message "a tortured scream echos thru the lands as a cursed soul if realeased"or something to that effect.Just pin her in the corner and add all the DPS you can muster..Pretty sweet drops though. SHE FLURRYS A LOT!!! have a 3sec cleric rotation on the MT.

Doomshade is a pushover,with the right amount of people it is easy. Don't pull her with adds though. that makes it more fun but also deadly at the same time.

Dropped Spell:Greater Familiar (wiz lvl 60) for us today along with some other stuff that is up there.
Doom is a she as it says in con. To pull i moved our two groups to the area just before VT, didnt get an add at all from just standing there, only once or twice did we get a moktor add on the pulls because they were in the way. Doom is fairly easy, the mini raid we had consisted of 2 clerics(65) (one being boxed) a 63 druid (boxed) 2 SU 3 pallies (65) 2 65 bards, 2 65 ranjahs, 62 mage, and 65 monk.
Also on pull - clear assassins by the tons if u can - helps alot when pullin masters timewhise so u are sure to not have to redo masters, oh and dont let them proc on you by staying in to closeof range, the snare sux.

The best way i have found to quickly pull the DarkMasters with out many assasin adds is to have a bard run around with accelerating chorus and lev going. The bard will round up about 20 DAs plus various other mobs. This will shorten the spawning of Doomshade significantly.

Was with a group in UP when a raid came in asking if we wanted to join and we did. There where 4 group with 1 Cleric in each group (Raid ave was 61). We waited at the zone line while for the pull to come there. Once there the Mt took Doom to a Cornor, and we attacked from behind. No one died, after that we pulled RC, who has a lot less HP than Doom.

There are a few key parts when fighting Doomshade.
1.) Getting him to spawn
You must kill all 4 Darkmastets in about 15 - 20 minutes to have him spawn. Thus, you should clear the area in front of these things, and plenty of Dark Assassians.
Also, he is on a 3 day spawn timer. The Dark Masters should be chanting about the coming of Doom every 30 min to let you know if you can spawn him.

2.) The Fight
Doomshade is unslowable. He can quad 470 max damage. The best thing to do is have him in the corner with the MT and just have a good CH rotation. He has a lot of hp, so be prepared for a semi-long fight.

can anyone tell me how much doom hits for max? quad or double? enrage? rampage? AEs? just trying to figure out what her dmg/sec is so i know how many clerics to throw in our cheal rotation. from other posts i see she has around 300-400k hps and flurries a lot. but i would appreciate any other information i can get. tks

Damage output is low enough that a 7500hp paladin with ca3 and cs3 can be healed by a single cleric chain ch'ing. We can almost do Doomshade with a single group now, and I know of a couple guys who each 6 box that are chain farming her.

Tank, Bard, a few clerics, shamman, monk, chanter, necro, druid and mage.

Most were 65, few were in the mid to low 50's

He was harder to spawn than he was to kill.

Dropped the Petrified Staff, Crystal Arm-thing, Bracelet of Sense, Wand of Cursed Souls, Khuras Focusing and a lvl 60 cleric hammer spell.

Also dropped some black orb that was NO RENT.

overall, a very fun fight...easy...decent loot for the effort.

Our normal hunting group took on 3 extra people and we successfully took Doom down. It was tough with just 9 and only 1 tank, but doable. Victors were: 65 Warrior, 65 Mage, 65 Druid, 2x65 clerics, 65 necro, 63 Chanter, 62 Ranger, and 65 shammie. The only hard part is the getting the freak to spawn.

soo.. when do the DMs chant, we tried to get him to spawn, killed the DMs in 7 min few times but no doomshade , anyone know if you can trigger his spawn or itsa wait and hope. would appreciate any insight as to getting him to spawn please.

Did him today with 10 ppl. 65 war, 65 wiz, 60+ cleric, 65 shm, 61 shm (me), 59 rog, 56 druid, 50 bard, 60 ish ranger. not one death, and we had no brain candy beyond bard mana song. When we got lom Berserk (mt)aggro kited until we had a chance to med. The fight took at least 15-20 minutes. This guy had a TON of hp. Great job to everyone that was there! awesome fight

Never got a slow of any kind landed on him. Got the 'this mob is immune to changes in it's attack speed' msg, so he is definitely unslowable.

Did Doomshade again, same MT (Berserk) he has 6300HP unbuffed. Two clerics alternating CH on him (casting when the tank got to 4bulbs of health) we could have kept the MT up indefinately (he was in defensive). We had to do him again unfortunately without defensive due to an opposing guilds bard casting highsun on DS when we got him to 10%. It wasnt that much harder. Its very possible to do DS one group one cleric as long as the tank has good HP's and the cleric has some mana regen. Otherwise, you get minimum two clerics and a tank with 5k HP unbuffed and you can do DS pretty easy.

Killed him, dropped Bracelet of Quickness / Knotted Knuckles / Longsword of Freedon/ Bow of Doom / some other stuff I forgot, and some spells. Came close to a wipe - not sure why, but the ma dropped with Doom at 9%, 63 pally took over, he dropped with Doom at 5%, and we managed to keep the deaths low. Come to think of it, I think we only had 1 cleric.

We did him with 15, could of easily trimmed down to 12.

No real tricks other than MT backing him up into a corner and making sure aggro is firm.

We had three clerics and they used a 5 second CH rotation, and as the MT I never really got below 50% life.

We could tweak this kill for greater efficiency.

I think he's spawnable every 3 days or so. (confirm?)

We've probably took him down over 15 times now. The Bow of Doom is definitly the rare drop (only 1 so far) followed by the Haste earring (4 so far). Last time we did him we had 3 copies of KEI drop, but have gotten a few BoAs also. Although we normally do him w/ 22+, we have done him wit only 15 using a 7500HP tank w/ a 5k heal Druid and Cleric doing then chain (had a shaman on spots).

From parsing a log of our fight with her last night, She took 237,507 points of damage and was killed in just under 5 minutes. Obviously this is missing the damage from our spellcasters (except for critical nukes) and from people too far away than the melee whose log was used, so I think the total hit points is somewhere in the region of 400k.

Does anyone have any better estimates?

Loot was Earring of Endless Speed, Mithril Edged Short Sword, Rod of Virtue, Bracelet of Beauty, and some spells (sorry, I forget which).

I have seen that hammer drop off of other mobs in the zone.

not that we could figure out.

We tried undead slow, chanter slow, and shaman slow - all from level 61 players. And all go a message that spells that slow would not affect... blah blah blah.

In addition to dropping:
Bracelet of Quickness
Cursed Halo of Thought
Shadow Heart

She also dropped a 15 20 Pally/SK only hammer with 10 wis/int a couple other stats + save to cold - save to fire with a +5 Cold attack forgot the name... H hammer of something

and the following spells not on her list

Hey the other day my guild dropped the big guy and he dropped a no rent item called ankuel ans xi vius(spelling) anyone know what it's for.?

It's used in the Cloak of Truth quest in Katta Castellum. It's also a fairly common drop from the Robed mobs (same model as Doomshade and the Dark Masters/Dark Assasins and the Xi Vius/Xi Xaui in ME).

Exiled Gatekeepers on Morell-Thule took him down last night with about 30 people, about 1/4 of which were not in the guild. Average level 57. He stopped us at 12% on our first attempt when the healers ran OOM, but the second time was a laugher. I wasn't running a timer, but it seemed like about a 5 minute fight. He flurries almost every round. MA was Troxlip, a level 59 warrior using CoCW and Frostreaver..held agro just fine and did not die on the second attempt.

Loot was as follows: C3, BoA, Warsong of the Vah Shir (I think), Hoarfrost Hammer, Bracelet of Comprehension, Crystal Enervated Armband, Knotted Knuckles, and that little black thing, Xi Xel Sackius Crapius, whatever it's called. Note that the Hoarfrost Hammer is not listed in his loot table, but Tinytina will be glad to show it to you. There were several warriors, but we all got JACKED...next time he better drop eight earrings and five swords, dammit!

It has been said that he poofs after 15-30 minutes without agro, so you'll have to have somebody ready to tap him once in a while if it takes you time to get back in the game. Also, he does corpse camp, so you'll probably have to move him if he wipes you at the ME zone. Bring bards and necros if you can for mana. And watch the push...keep him in the middle of the building. Enjoy!
