Was running from Rathe mts and he aggroed. 34 bst with temp on me and pet. Pretty good fight for me and pet. He never resisted ice nukes or pet proc inferno. I 2hb for 70 until I got to 30% then pet clericed him until he death walked.

He is an easy kill for what he drops, that Crude Stein is a great item for your bazaar vendor.

I guarentee a necro will beat any druid of the same level in a duel.

Just wanted to say that I killed this big ugly Ogre solo with my druid at lvl 30-35. Ofcourse Druids are the best at soloing, Snare held and my DoTs did a great deal of damage. Was an easy kill, already had better steins so I just looted the FS wep and gave to a freind for Blacksmithing. hmmph, oh well, maybe I will kill him some more just to get and give the stein

Since when are druids the best at soloing?Have you soloed a god like your friendly neighborhood necro or mage? Didnt think so.

As a 53 Ranger, Bouncer Hurd is just a juicy target. Without buffs, I took him down with a tiny hitpoint loss. He dropped a Fine Steel Longsword, Round Shield and a Crude Stein. My motivation for taking him down was to give the loot to a new level 1 Ranger. Also got a fire beetle eye for the newbie off the other yard trash. Good start for a ranger.

As for earlier levels, I was successfully running away from him in my level 30's. At around the mid 40's I could successfully solo him. A straight engagement won't work, kiting around is necessary, preferably with a bow, and engaging in melee when hes at 60-70% health would be a good start.

Any melee class 50+ should be able to take em in an unplanned fashion. I have less experience with casters, but direct damage spells tend to stick, roots and snares tend not to stick.

Yes the Crude Stein still drops from this big boy.

though I found snaring to be impossible, I did get roots to stick for a bit. Luckly he runs slow, so rather than worrying about getting a snare to take, I just Dot'ed and Nuked while keeping ahead of him, always running forward to make sure I didn't bump into a second bouncer.

At level 45 with 211 wisdom he took about 85% of my mana to drop him.

Are steins still dropping

Sitting in Nexus today, I decide to give my crude stein to my alt thinking, "Hey! I'll just get a port, smash up Hurd, and loot a new one". Needless to say, I have smacked up Hurd twice now and no stein on either of them. Is this still dropping. I hope so. I could get a better CHA stein, but for some reason I really like this one. Probably because it is free.

I accidentally found out that the Ogre guards drop CHA equiptment (Crude Stein) and after a quick check to see how beating up them up could affect my faction to them (I can't make it any better) I started plotting how to shake one down.

They travel along the river edges and have more HPs than the Spectres I've been normally hunting in zone. The first one resisted most of my spells, aggroed on me and wouldn't let go despite my pet jabbing him repeatedly in the kidneys. I got the Crude Stein and a couple other shineys when I tried again.

For you mages, let the pet build a healthy aggro first before hitting him with spells.

I now have a Crude Stein and along with my other Stein have a respectable +25 Cha increase but look like a drunk when I sell/buy.

I haven't had this much fun kiting a mob around. NEVER. Neither me or the 41st lvl druid were able to get him rooted or snared. Neither did a 47th lvl druid who though he would play with him while we were. But with Dots and DD's and lots of running, he coughed up the stein. He's dropped the stein 5 for 7 times along with some various drops. Nothing more fun that watching the jelly role not know which druid to go after.
Solo?

Hurd Is fun and you got to be on your game with him. He just wants to love ya , crush ya & and smash ya. Up your cha like I did and ensare and roots work. I like to root and dot him, Slowly watch him die. time and time again. He's fun good exp and nice loot. I sell to oger venders.

Hurd is sweet and cuddly and just died 1st try to this L47 Druid on Karana server.

Start with dot, and just run him to death, hitting him with the occasional calefaction, don't waste time on ensnare or root, he resists those but did not resist my dots or DDs.

I can understand that you are happy about your stein - you should be: Stein of Mogguk is very nice, but I think its worth to keep in mind that the stein which is dropped by this sexy ******* is a Crude Stein. Its wanted for charisma. I find it more likely that you can sell it to an Enchanter than that he will be selling his =)

Those rogues in BBM near that castle that are fake guards that are level 25, they are alot harder than there level says they are. I when I was at level 20 in twinked gear thought I'd take both of them out by myself, noway they were pounding the heck out of me, thank god i had my 45 druid friend along in case I got into trouble.
Hurd go Bye Bye!!

Hi all. I got two accounts and just made a new Chanter who would love a Crude Stein. Do yall think a 35 Druid / 35 Warrior duo could take Hurd out? I have run into him in the past and once I decided to kite him with the druid while I ran the warrior to RM zone. Well at 35 he resisted all my snares and I ended up zoning too. He does have a high magic resistance but I think my "Dynamic Duo" can take him out. It will be a close fight tho. I'll repost after my encounter. See ya!!

Running to rathe mountains we got attacked tonight by this Bouncer Hurd. Me a level 37 warrior, a 37 druid, 29 ranger and a level 34 bard wasted him. I must say he took about half of my health down though.

You have Bouncer Hurd listed in the Splitpaw Equipemt list--does he spawn there? If so cool! However I think this was a mix up:-)
Yeah Right

This ***** resisted 90% of my spells and then proceeded to whoop on me. Im not sure how the whole MR thing works but when your 13 levels lower then you would figure a few of your spells would stick.

I just killed him yesterday. The only thing he resisted was Ensnaring Roots and he only did that twice. All of my other spells hit on the first cast for full damage.

Snare, Ensnaring Roots, Starfire, Immolate, Drones of Doom. I am a level 51 Druid, BTW.

He did drop the Crude Stein along with the normal gak (FS, Shield, etc..).

#Anonymous, Posted: Dec 17 2001 at 5:55 AM, Rating: Sub-Default, (Expand Post) Gosh Mr Druid Sir, you are not very bright, of course a lvl 51 Cruid wwould waste a 37 Worrior and you spells would stick. Geez.

Although we tend to snare then root. Root these bouncers first then snare and keep snaring til it sticks, as soon as theyre snared the die real easy.
