I knew where he spawned before the zone revamp, now everythings different and Im afraid hes not there anymore. Can anyone confirm if he spawns in the same location?

Don't believe he spawns anymore. I've been in there a lot since the revamp, and havn't seen him once. Good thing I already got his hammer!

He was standing at loc -450 +1400 and weilding the scythe today. I'm confident he doesn't have a placeholder, but he may in fact spawn in different locations now. This is one of them for sure, however.

Alright, killed this guy about 10 times now, bout 5 times with the hammer (scythe is an easy tank kill).

Myral needs to be trained to the zoneline, if you can't find him on your own, I doubt any info on killing him will help you :)

he has insane regen, and a decent amount of hps. he can be taken down quickly if you have the right classes. What I have done is have a druid snare then zone out, and then I (lvl 65 bard) use selos (Selos is nice in case snare wears off, which rarely happens, but I can still outrun him and kite him around the room with him running ) and dot him, running him around the room while snared. Then, I have all dotters and debuffers cast, then immediately zone out (to clear agro from dots). with Shaman, Enchanter, Necro, Druid and my bard dots, his hps was staying relatively full, dropping to about 96% ish in about a minute, with all those dots.
Send melee and pets in, do not have a pet that stuns (magicians I recommend monster summoning III for this). don't start nuking until 60% or so, and have your dotters rezone after they redot him until about 50% then there will be no agro problems, with any adds, we just had chanters DC them, add to the dps. We've been killing him every day in hopes of getting the cleric item with GRC on it, still just hammers and scythes =\

Taking him down
# Jun 02 2003 at 11:23 AM Rating: Decent
Been farming him a bit 3 boxing with my necro, a druid and an enchie.

I just use enchie to keep him slowed and crippled, pet tanking and using druid to DS/Heal my pet. Most of the damage comes from my necro dots and the pet. Takes about 15 minutes. I also once soloed with my necro, aggro kiting - but it took about 50 minutes, not doing that again! /yawn

With the DA hammer, I pulled him to the room near the SD zone. Pre-tashed and pre-snared (zoning after each to avoid him hitting). Then parked necro and druid in middle of the room; enchie ran round in circles chain-tashing and keeping aggro. Used necro pet to beat on its back and dotted it. Called pet off to handle the adds when they appeared. The whole thing took 20 minutes to get my little cleric a nice upgrade. I think I could do again with necro snare and so no need for the druid.
I had problems
# May 12 2003 at 6:52 PM Rating: Default
I myself am a 65 paladin. I had 2 65 druids, a 65 bard and a 65 shaman come help me out. The most we got him to was 80% =(. I could grab agro off them because when we started, the druid tagged and i did nothing untill all the dots were on so that was a problem. Next time ill try the agro thing for about a min then have them start dotting/nuking. I really really want that hammer.
Our version
# May 08 2003 at 8:28 PM Rating: Decent
Instead of a bard, we used a ranger (thanks Zenob) to kite him around the first room in from Scarlet Desert zone in as Praetorian Myral spawned right at the zone line.

We had debuffers debuff and zone out and back and our necro put the regen inhibitor on him again zonin and comin back. Ranger then snared and kited around castin various ranger aggro spells for about 1 minute.

After 1 minute, DoT's started, followed by melee engage from behind at 85% health. Nukes started at 75% and were spaced out per person at about 7-8% health per cast to avoid aggro redirection. Rinse and repeat till dead.

We did have a proc of hammer midfight when he caught kiter (small room), however Myral only regened bout 20% during that time and once proc wore off we restarted cycle of dots, nukes and melee. Total fight was bout 10-12 minutes is my guess. Dropped the Divine Hammer and a Faded Logs book.

Thanks for help from guild and our guest ranger Zenob who I'm sure is still dizzy!

Just so you know, there is no regen inhibitor. That's a myth. Disease DoTs don't halt regen.

We did it pretty similar. Got him pre debuffed and then sent a wizard in to kite him arround in the first room. I sent my pet in and DoTed him while the shaman laid his DoTs on and the cleric stunned him so the wizard could more easily resnare and nuke without taking melee and risking a DA proc because he had the hammer.

It was easy. He does flurry but hits soft. Funny to watch guilds try to fight him normal when he has the hammer. Force of 30 people strong and they can't drop him much below 100% even after 20 mins.

If this guy is wielding the hammer, it is *almost* impossible to beat him using the MT method. The easiest thing to do is pull him to the SD zone. Have 1 bard kite him around the square room near the SD zone. The bard should be doing everying possible to build solid agro. The raid should be getting buffed outside.

After the bard has solid agro, everyone should zone in and get shrink. Have someone peel any adds the bard may have gotten and kill them at zone.

After the adds are taken care of, run into the middle of the room. Resist debuff Myral and have a ranger/druid snare him. After he is snared, call for dot's, nukes, and melee. No pets, they draw too much agro. Make sure your melee stay BEHIND him, 1 lucky ripo & proc of the hammer, you'll be starting all over again.

This *can* be done with 3 or 4 people, but it would take a long time, and the bard would be a bit dizzy afterwards. 2 groups is ideal... much more than that and you'll be stepping over yourselves.

Best of luck.
Not that hard
# Apr 12 2003 at 4:04 AM Rating: Decent
We were with nothing to do...so we thought we would see if he had the cleric stick...didn't, but the bard in our 7 ppl mini raid hit the wrong hot key, and agroed him...
65 War
65 Ranger
64 Rogue
62 Cleric
60 Druid
56 Mage
55 Druid

That was it...60 Druid and I alternated CHes, other Druid DoTed him...rest meeled, and I am guessing the Bard sang DoT songs...I was at 60m at end of fight. So, I agree, without the DA Hammer, he isn't bad at all, just need that DoT powah to break that regen. :) Took about 10 mins.
Good info
# Feb 13 2003 at 6:23 AM Rating: Good
oops, posted this under the wrong forum, oh well

Here is some good info I've gleaned from doing this mob 3 days in a row:

WHERE: Take all rights when you zone in from the Scarlet Desert, that should be 6 doors (one of which is broken and laying on it's side). You will pass exactly 11 mobs, 2 are roamers, 3 are statics and 6 are little 'traps' that have mobs springing out of them. Any of these have a chance to see invis, but it is entirely likely that none of them will see from time to time.

PULL: If you elevate Praetorian Myral in ANY way, i.e. pulling him over a crate, or kiting him over the awnings in the large kite area (past the 3rd door, can't miss it), he will poof. So make sure you give the 3 or 4 awnings in the kite area a wide berth.

KILL: There are alot of ways to kill him, but there are some things for certain. You have to stop his regen, and you have to keep him from proc'ing his hammer. That means don't let your melee get in front, because he can proc on a riposte. Don't send pets in while he is facing you, again... he might riposte. Make sure you keep your puller sowed, or if he catches up.. yup! he might proc the hammer. The DA lasts about 3 minutes with this guy, more than enough time for your regen-inhibiter-of-choice to wear off and for him to regen 25% of his hp.

**NOTE** if he does not have the DA hammer (it looks like a normal velilum battle hammer in his hand, wood and velium), then the DA problem is moot.

He is alot easier to kite around than to fight straight up, he flurries, has a good amount of hp and the aforementioned regen.

RAID SIZE: I've heard of this being done with 1 65 bard and 1 65 cleric. But that is an all-in-one package there. Bring someone who can snare it, someone to stop his regen, and my favorite: some pet classes. Pets never get in front, and are low aggro. The only problem with this is that there *will* be adds, and you will need someone to tank them. My suggestion for a 1 group kill would be: Bard (kiter), shaman, cleric, necro (snarer/pet), ranger (backup snare/ranged dmg), and some tank.

Hope that helps!

Why not stun him once he's tashed and maloed?

Just have Clerics, Chanters, and Pallies chain cast their long duration stuns, or even set up a stun rotation, to keep him from even attacking, and therefore, prevent him from DAing himself.

We tried this guy last night, and after one attempt (wolf form on someone...) we tried again. We sat there and reasoned this. Kiting him does work, as we had him chase a ranger (IMO shouldda been a warrior) around the room. But when we got him to under 20% he despawned...is this guy on a timer or something?

Killed this guy late last night on Druzzil
# Oct 01 2002 at 5:20 AM Rating: Excellent
We toyed with him for a while then we finally formulated a strat to take him down. Me (60 druid) snared him when DA wore off, an SK used j-stick to tash him (we had no enchanter that late) and shaman maloed.. then we stuck a root on him. While he was rooted I casted Ro's smuldering disjunction and snare on him LOTS of times til i absolutely carved my name in stone on his top aggro spot. After i had full aggro i kited his snared butt around while everyone landed dots and dots and dots and dots. we had 2 necros, 2 sk's, 3 shamans, 3 wizzies, 3 druids, 2 clerics and a pal. Basically we were really bored at that time of night and decided to kill him. Pally won the uber DA hammer =) This strat works but you gotta have a crazy druid willing to kite him a long time resnaring all the time. Also whenever someone gets aggro and allows him to re-proc DA, make sure that person is made fun of, a lot. hehe =)

BTW this guy does have an insane regen on him... if hes got the hammer prepare yourself for a long, but VERY fun fight =D

You say he has insane regen, and you loaded him up with DoTs. I was under the impression that disease-based DoTs put a halt to regen...was this true in your case?

I was this crazy druid tonight. At first we tried to take him out normally...Uh uh, no way. So then Raid Leader/MT calls all to back off and then the MT ran him around while all rooters and snarers tried to land something. You can tell DA is still on him because you will get no spell message when you are done casting. Once DA wore off and he was snared and rooted, I doted and debuffed to get sufficient aggro. I constantly casted Ensnare on him to keep it while the casters nuked and doted. Melee didn't do anything but shoot arrows. After a couple minutes he was a gonner. He would be quite soloable if you could get him alone. Does not summon, rarely casts (only noticed one resisted retrobution, and I'm not even positive if was from him)....dropped the hammer of course, pallie won it.
Tried last night
# Sep 24 2002 at 10:48 AM Rating: Decent
He was spawned near the zone entrance from SD last night. Got tired of killing dark visions and tried to take the Praetorian, one group of 50-60 (shammy, druid, cleric, rogue, warrior, enchanter).

Had some near deaths before we got him slowed down. Flurries hit hard. He had the scythe, probably would not have attacked him with the hammer.

Unfortunately we finally just had to zone. Beat on him and dotted him for a while but he was still just about full health and we were about out of mana. He resisted numerous winged deaths, all breath of ro but ensnare stuck first try which was surprising.

Would suggest bringing some BIG damage dealing and preferably a couple groups to take him.

from what i can read this guy procs DA and you cant dmg him but he will hit you???
i cant do anything when i use DA, just /ooc train to zone and run...hehehe.

plz someone help me with info on this guy.

and NO, as someone said, you cant dispell hes DA, at least doubt that since DA resists MB i heard, should resist everything, i used it to get from high places such as velks to bottom without taking dmg (before i noticed you only take a few hundred in dmg, just jump and heal up now).

It is well known that NPC's (non-player characters or mob's as we call them) are not treated the same way we (pc's or Toon pr what ever you want to call yourself) are treated. Yes this does proc DA. And yes while DA'ed he can still smack you around. If he has the hammer there is only one way to kill him. Have all melee that cannot root with a spider silk from CC that can cast root. All casters that can root have it memmed. Now, get as far away from him as you can and tash, Malo and any other debuffs you can on him. The second he is debuffed everyone casts root with a couple of snares from necro's SK's to slow him him down. Now you DoT him with all you can and let him sit for a second and have all melee open up with range weapons. Then time all nukes to land at approx the same time followed by melee with root from the webs and then caster roots. If he had opportunity to move then move as far away from him as you can and repeat till he is dead. Mana-burn and Life-Burn are WONDERFUL here. Hope this helps.

Guy was up at zonein, decided to try my spells on him and feel out his resists.

MR resist is decent. resisted my root attempts and Malosi attempts. But I did land a slow on him.

PR and DR are a joke. landed every DoT I tried. landed Plague of Insects with no problems.

Flurries like a madman

Didn't proc the DA at all while I was working him over.

We found him in the room not far from the Scarlet Desert Zone in - actual /loc is -456, +1417, standing in front of an altar between 2 spires.

Fight consisted of 70 Paladin tanking, supported by 2 magician pets (Ward of Xegony and Child of Wind). Pets stunned him constantly which reduced his chance to hit Paladin in order to have the hammer proc DA. Paladin used his stuns too while fighting and called out when DA procced so the magi could wait for the DA to fade before casting the next nuke.

Fight seemed to last about 5 minutes overall.

This hammer that he drops is the best MT weapon for a pally ever, now let me explain. I know that DA puts you at the bottom of the hate list, but if you chain cast Flash of Light on the mob, when you proc it should be blinded so it has no choice to hit you , of course you will prob loose aggro as soon as Flash wears off but just cast a stun or 2 and 1 more flash and bam its back on you.

Everyone on the carpet in the center of the medium sized room between front and back courtyard, theres lots of space to run which anyone who gets aggro will HAVE to do. His damn hammer procs DA, but lasts at least a minute, during which time he is invulnerable to ALL attacks. We had a few ppl summon loads and loads of Shattering Hammers, everyone picked up as many stacks as they needed during the fight. We had the puller go smack it with a ranged wep, and got him to the room. Proceeded to sick a druid with sow on him, and he ran in a continuous circle around the outskirts of the room. We all threw hammers at him until we got the hit message, then unleashed everything we had on him. A warrior got too close to him, and BAM! DA was up on him, so we let them run in circles till his DA wore off and we again hit him full force. Don't let ANYONE get hit by this guy, for two reasons: 1st, HE HITS FAST, flurries 200+ and will kill a cleric in less than 10 seconds, I know we lost 2 of ours to him on the first go around. 2nd, and much more importantly, his hammer Procs DA EVERY time he hits someone. EVERY time. Then ya gotta play ring around the rosey with him till u can hit him again. We didnt end up droppin him, cuz he got stuck on one of the awnings and poofed, couldnt find him on track. Don't know what happened. =\

Hope to meet this guy in the near future so we can have another crack at him. - Myller, 55 Knight, Prexus
