I just went there to kill elysians and the nerbian swarmcaller whatever attacked me adn killed me in seconds. He was sitting on the hill watching the elysian camp and after he killed me he camped my corpse. Even with /corpse i got closer than i want to. WATCH OUT if you are in this area. Use tracking on him and dont run over a hill too fast.
Inspired by Kunarr's post below I also tracked my experience in obtaining a complete set of Elysian armor for my Druid. Didn't start until I dinged 53 then used snare, root, Winged Death (mostly), Breath of Ro (occasionally, sometimes resisted), and Drones of Doom (from Elder Spiritists Vambraces). KEI is a must and I was usually in wolf form. Ok, here are my stats:
Took me 97 kills over 18 visits to get a complete set. During this I saw:
Dinged 54 on my 65th kill and went halfway to 55. Overall killed a total of 4 dark blues, 21 whites, 52 yellows and 20 reds. Also dropped a few spells, Spirit of Eagle (3), Mark of Retribution (2), Epitaph of Life (3); elysian bone powder (22); elysian skulls (7); dark skeletal remains (3); and a wide variety of gems. Two gems not currently on the drop list are stratolite and zoicite. Overall a good experience, although a bit repetitious. I was usually the only one in the zone. Never got killed except when I went link dead. All it took was patience and diligence.

About a few months ago and my dad (66 bard) and some other friends around 60-65 we almost got whole set within almost 35 kills it was sweet
47th druid of Tunare 13th Monk of Tranquil Fist 26th Bard of Troubadors Fighters (all on Terris-Thule) If u saw a 39 druid wearing elysians would u think hes a newb?
went hunting the elysian to finish up a druid friend's armor night of OOW expansion...new mob in zone sitting right in the middle of the eylsian camp...in the house without the roof where you pull from... Netherbian Swarmfiend... conned RED to lvl 64 ... lvl 61 ranger {me} couldn't harmony ... figured we'd give it a try anyway ... harmonied the elysians and snare pulled one of them ... don't do this lol ... Swarmfiend aggroed ... hit me with a whirl til you hurl kind of stun and i was down before it faded ... considering the location of the mob, time it appeared {right after OOW upload} and difficulty/level ... i'm thinking maybe druid epic 2.0 ?? just a guess .. anyway be careful hunting the armor anymore ... it is no longer a safely pulled camp if this mob is up..
Something funny happened to me today with these guys i came to UP to hunt some elysians and i found that they all only had 35% hp... ok so i pull 1 and kill it easily and get the exp so I am thinking wow easy exp so i killed the rest and got exp for them all. So i get 5 kills of these mobs less than the time it takes me to kill 2. I dont know why it did this but the bad part was just money and a gem dropped no armor but hey it was easy exp. O and after i killed the first 5 when they respawned they had Full HP.
No point to the story just wanted to put in my two cents
UP mobs seem to have really slow regen: most likely someone was quadding them and gated, leaving them with only partial hit points which hadn't regenerated by the time you got there.
On 7/18/04 a disturbed elysian remains dropped something new, a "Dark Skeleton Remains". It is magic, lore, no drop and has a bone chip graphic. An Identify cast it on returns the message "Found in the Plains of Umbral." A new quest, or maybe just an old one that has been repaired?
Shouldn't be too much of a problem for your mage considering the mob does not summon and you have an assortment of powerfull pets. If you plan to take on the elder as well, maybe your airpet will do the trick since it's a nasty druidcaster, so you might like to interupt it's casting. For the rest, they eem to have some fire resistance so expect some resists though your lvl should benefit you in reducing that.
I\m just puzzled why you would like to kill these with your mage, cause for aa grinding there are better mobs with less hp. Oh well maybe you want to equip a babydruid :-)
I been soloing these guys awhile and found out early on harmony of nature works to keep the unwanted adds asleep on the burned out slabs. Pull one at a time to the safe valley, root and nuke with dots. At 54 I soloed the reds and yellow as well as blues this way.
Have spent the last week there on Tarrew Marr.. Me (55 druid) and my partner (58 shaman) have been pulling the sleeping remains. The harmonize has NOT worked for us. Luckily, we've been able to handle the extra pulls.. and I don't know about anybody else, but the Harmony has NOTworked for us. Still looking for elysian :)
Okay, was camping them last night. The "safe valley" that I read about was already taken by a necromancer and a druid, so my BL and I took up a spot just straight across from the platform (haunted tree house =P), up on the hill. I was the puller (51 druid, used the invisibility proximity aggro technique) and the majority of the elysians, from what I saw on track, were pretty far North. I'd like to pull some fairly close to where the BL's plopped down at. I looked but I didn't see those two mobs that are supposed to be wandering inbetween the two houses. How far away from the houses do they wander, and am I looking in the right place?
PS: Pulled a few from the North. First kill yielded boots. Second pull got me slaughtered (smacked me and dropped invis), and corpse recovery got me slaughtered (ravager saw through invis. Damn you, 5% chance). Pulled two after that but didn't get anything. Gave up after that, since I had to pull them pretty far away from BL, and we already wasted two hours.
In that part of the zone, elysians can wander almost anywhere between the houses and the hill that hits the wall and beyond that. It could be safer to run all the way to that point and cast a fast dot to get agro race to the valley, and wait there to snare him.
BTW bindyourself high on the wall next to VT- entry it saves a lot of running and when getting there from ME get exaggeratingly high on the wall never got any agro when doing that and i had my share of deaths due to some probs with my former ISP.
For those of you who are about to embark on an Elysian hunt for armor, let me clarify one thing that most people say is not true.
Summoning mobs (in UP) will summon you even of you do not damage them.
I read that some people claimed this, but most people do not. I just had this happen to me. I was in the pipe with my 55 druid, along with two other druids taking on DER. Standard stuff. I only had KEI, Howler and Virt. No damage shield. I just dinged my 6th AA and wanted to see my title, which required a zone. So I egressed. Normally the succor point is clear, but this time it was not. There was a fallen soldier there and he summoned me instantly. Luckily I made it to the zoneline (lucky because I didnt have SOE).
I never attacked him, or damaged him in anyway and he summoned me. This is likely different from zone to zone, but in UP, beware.
My spouse had a similar thing happen to his Warrior. We were in Iceclad Ocean and saw that Lodi was up. We ran over to his spawn point only to find him being killed by a Druid/Necro duo. We didn't touch Lodi, but the warrior got summoned anyway. The Druid started yelling that we were trying to KS him (the warrior didn't even attack - he just ran back to us).
Ok...so I felt a bit courageous on my pally (65th pally) decided to solo one of those, I CAN do it but...yeah, near death kinda got to me but he killed over before I did =) only self buffed but if I didn't have C3 on at that time I would've been finished!
"OMG! Did you see that?! He ran over that guy lawnmower style!"
Came into UP for the first time tonight, after seeing the tunic on a guildie and reading some of the posts here. As a 55 druid, solo, I killed 2 yellow cons and a white, averaging around 10 minutes each. Reward was a full blue of regular experience, about 25pp, the Foliage Shield scroll and a couple gems. I'm definitely going to like this spot, even without the armor drops (already wearing mostly Tunarean Soldier stuff, so not terribly worried about the upgrade).
I have been hunting elysians for a couple of weeks now mostly solo and it has been everything from boring to edge of my seat exciting. I have to share this story and advice. Don't get over confident and try to take one down without kei, I tried and here's what happened. (I'm lvl 55). To begin with this blue con would not stay rooted, he resisted root and broke root early on almost every cast. I started out just using winged death on him because it's the most efficient way to kill them. It didn't take long for me to realize that I had made a mistake, I was almost out of mana and he was still at about 20% health. By now I am cast drifting death, and then creeping crud and hoping to take him down slowly. When he is at 10% health I am completely oom then things start to happen, first my wolf form drops and I do not have enough mana to cast sow, then snare drops for the second time. My first thought was to just stand and die, but that would be too easy, so I am running back and forth with this fast elysian chasing me. I sit for a second and run, repeat, repeat, till I finally gain enough mana to snare him again, so I keep running back and forth and medding for a second or two till I have enought mana to root him again... relief at last. He doesn't break root this time. I med enough to cast sow on myself, and then finally I got enough mana to egress. I was lucky to survive, but I wish I had stayed to finish the fight, who knows, I might have won.
Good illustration of why I love my "old standbys" Tanglewood shield, leaf-blower, and vambraces. Having no-mana snare, and two DoTs can make SUCH a huge difference. I have other armor and weapons that just overpower these unbelievably, but I still keep pulling them out and using them in cases where I need to avoid going OOM.
BTW, kiting the guards in HoH, I find using all my DoTs takes me too low on mana, and if I use the two main DoTs and my no-mana stuff, only takes a minute or two longer and I end up with at least 80 perc mana ready for another without any delay.
Vambraces and sheild are best investments I ever made.
Another thought: Using shield to cast the snare lets you cast "real" spell without ANY delay. This can be an unbelievable assist, especially when the snare is resisted!
I have been hunting in UP at the elysians lately for the first time. I have found that it is not the best xp at lvl59 but some good enough to stay will I get my Elysian Tunic. I have killed about 12 already and i got a variety of gems and Elysian Boots and Gaunts. The best way to pull is there are 2 wandering Disturbed Elysian Remains running back and forth between the two house nearer to the wall of zone. After I kill both, they usually spawn back when i go to pull again. they seem to have around 15k-20k hp, a large range but i will check closely tonight. The thurg bracer or ES Vambs, Epic Dot, Winged Death, and sometimes the fire DoT works best. They seem to break root alot to. Make sure u have kei and stay in the pipe.
Kept a few stats on my stint in Umbral in search of Elysian armor. Not sure this is a typical representation of the average Druid's quest for this set, but here are my stats:
Started in Umbral at level 53 (0%) Killed 113 Elysians of varying cons 44 Red 43 Yellow 21 White 5 Dark Blue
Dinged 54 after about 80 kills, DB's didn't appear until then. Used snare, root, Winged Death, Breath of Ro, and Drones of Doom (Elder Spiritists Vambraces are a must, along with KEI).
Looted quite a few jewels, Spirit of Eagle and a few other non-Druid spells. Foraged 9 stacks of Mushrooms (/autoinventory ROCKS) Didn't die one time, really never had any close calls. I aggro-pulled (invis) from the hill along the south-east border of the zone into the ravine. Met a lot of Druids and /ooc'ed my rotting armor. OK, so here is what I came for:
During the gap from 40 to 58 I was just about ready to give up. Didn't see ONE item drop in that time. This was actually a fun experience for the most part... met some cool players. Very good upgrade from my old armor (mithril runed tunic, brown chitin leggings, coladin skin gloves, etc). Good luck to any Druid going for this set... have some patience and be careful.

Myself, 65 Chanter and friend 65 Necro went today to try to get a few pieces for my 54 Drood and my 20 Drood. Guess we were there 3-4 hours. 3 Tunics, 2 Helms, 2 Wristbands, 1 Leg, 1 Arm and 1 Gloves. All we were missing were the boots. Not bad, 1 day and my lvl 20 Drood is full Elysian.
