Can't find anything about it on the mob page but he spawned right near this burrower and like this one, can't be targeted.

Ok so I did the first 3 waves of the event then it ended... then I did them again and it ended again... anyone know what is going on here? Had a 77sk, 77clr, 49 chanter, and 2 mercs. Why did the event end?

Thanks!
Took almost 4 minutes.

Dead in 4 minutes, maybe a little less.

Dropped Warsong of the Vah shir + other spells already noted above.

Whole event took about ~ 1/2 hour.

Droppped Khura's fcusing, Cloak of akheva, Hammer of souls, Warder's protection. + normal parsite loot table crud.

Yeah, I was bored.

Yeah, it's as trivial as you think. Takes forever, too. I was waiting on spawns a lot. Incidently, the last (parastite) takes a good 5 - 6 minutes to spawn after other waves are dead. I thought event was bugged. Normally, I didnt have to wait but 2 -3 minutes on next waves.

I went afk and came back and he was hitting me. That's how trivial this is.

I think my merc hit like 80 mana, total, the entire fight. I had her on efficient, tho.

Went in with 75 Ranger, Rogue, and Druid. Had either Ranger or Rogue tank, and used Reptile Skin to keep the tanking person alive.

However we weren't done with wave 6 when 7 spawned, however they didn't agro. With 1 mob left from wave 6, the others despawned, so no lewt.

Beware, make sure you agro each wave if they do not agro you, because they will despawn, and you will lose event.

Done this event twice with a buddy of mine. Me boxing 75 ranger and 75 Shaman, friend boxing 75 beast and 75 monk for dps. Pretty easy. Hail of Arrows on the ranger makes the first 3 waves a cake walk. Usually have the beast aggro all the mobs so I can assist and stand back to fire HoA as it pops. Takes about 30 min to get through the whole event. Final mob has lots of HP as do most the luclin mobs. Unslowable but doesn't hit to hard. Max was around 1k I think. Pretty fun event though. I enjoy the chaotic battle with mobs all over the place.

Went in with 4 people and tried event was not hard but we got no down time at all. All waves came back to back (maybe lack of DPS???) We never got spawn 7 or 8 and not sure why. Took us 25 mins to go threw the first 6 waves no deaths and was not bad at all. went with BST pally cleric and ranger all lvl 70. We may try event again but seams to be bugged atm.

OK,was soloing one night and i was getting ready to gate and i checked track and saw a mob called A ferocious horror lord.

I noiticed he was close by so i invised up and went after him.Rebuffed and meded up then hacked and slashed my way thourgh the mobs around him.then pulled his buddy next to him.

LB to me at 70 i droped him fast, mob list says he drops loot but he just poofed as soon as he droped no body to loot at all.

Well im thinking that maybe he spawned something and when i checked track low and behold what poped?yep you guessed it the burrower beast was on track=)

Im thinking this mob is the trigger mob for the event, funny that he droped loot before for some people but this time he poofed on me.bugged mob?maybe,or maybe hes the trigger.

I found A ferocious horror lord past the bridge on the other side.If you look at the map of the deep hes in the upper left corner, look for a tunnel that loops around.Mob was surrounded by about 3 or 4 other thought horrors.

From bridge go to other side and go RIGHT,follow along ledge to last tunnel, some mushrooms are SI some are not.TAke that tunnel and go straight then look on the map for the tunnel that loops.Mob is in that tunnel,or was when i found him,he might pop anywhere in zone so keep an eye out.

GOOD LUCK AND GOOD HUNTING!

Top of the map, there are two "big rooms" after you cross the invisible bridge. One "big room" on the left is where the Thought Horror Overfiend spawns. The other "big room" on the right is where this guy spawns. You can see it poking out of a tunnel from just outside the room entrance.

If you get to close to the the "big room" like say, walk past the opening, you trigger the event. You will note this as I did today, when I saw him and got a little to far past the entrance and worms started shooting out of the walls. There's also an emote "You feel the ground shaking under your feet" or something like that. You'll also note that the "entrance" is now covered with rock, and you are trapped in the room, until the event is over. I think when this happened to me today, I had like 3 buffs up. I wasn't quite ready.

Mercs are Ok, here. So I feigned, had pet engage, (he had already engaged anyways) and then memmed Levant (Necro evac) and just evacced to IZ.

After it reset (I didn't keep a timer on it) I'd say 10 minutes, but I was afk for a bit, defintely less than 1/2 an hout. I went back, buffed this time, and beat the crap out of him.

You'll see him if he is up. To trigger the fighting to start. Just walk up close to him and the cycle starts. When I did that, not certain, but I think the exit to the room closed. I could be mistaken on that tho.

1 Cleric
1 12000+ Tank
1 Shammy
3-6 Ranger/Mage/Rogue/Wiz

Until they get up in the wave scale, the mobs are quite pansy, to the point that a Ranger, Rogue, Cleric, Shammy and Pets can easily Tank.

The biggest problem, by far, is DPS. A Burrower Parasite has a nasty amount of HP for his overall difficulty, and an even nastier Regen.

Also, a 12000 tank is definatly not needed for the average raid, but to put pressure on 1 cleric and 1 shammy for heals, you'll need a sturdy tank.

The question is... Why would Time/GoD gear people WANT to take him down? =P

Looking at this as tactics...
6 groups with Tank, Healer, and spot healerin each group as min.
Group Number 1 Has extra DPS classes IE: Wizzy, Necro, Rangers etc etc.
On first 3 waves each tank targets his own Spiny Rock mob, Chanters mezz the rest, (Single targeted) Clerics heal and The heavy DPS group 1 finishes thier mob ASAP and moves to next, Quickly kill #2 mob and both groups move to next etc etc.
Waves 4-7 same way with each Tank taking thier own target, Healer doing thier thing. By this time mana will present a problem and have a necro in each group where possible sending pets and Pumping the healer. If no Necro available have Bard with Mana regen song running plus Heals to help with the spot heals.
Main mob, standard MT, ST Cleric CH cycle, with spot heals thrown in until rythm is established.. Necro's Pumping Clerics and Bards running Mana regen..
Only problem I see with this is targeting seperate mobs when they all spawn. Is the area large enough to have a few seconds between the waves spawning before someone gets agro or could say a SHM cast an AoE Slow (lvl 58) and then kite the mobs for a min giving the MT's a chance to target and pull thier mob maybe with a ranged weapon?

Thanks for any info and am thinking of trying to simulate this with a few groups in the Arena perhaps to allow for Targeting practice ... Have the groups set and then perhaps have two full groups burst into the arena and have the agro the first NPC that initiates dmg on them... individually
What's spawn time on this ??

By Gale of Destruction of Tunare.

Some important notes -
A Rock Burrower - Both mezzable and slowable
A Rock Carver - Neither mezzable nor slowable
A Spiny Rock Burrower - Neither Mezzable nor slowable

These first 3 waves only have a chance to wipe you if you are not organized and/or do not know what to expect. At 1254 ac (65 shaman) they hit for about 60 on average and 100 max. Just get 12 different melees on 12 different mobs and you are set.

Core Burrowers in Waves 4-6 are unmezzable and unslowable. Average hit is around 200 on a decent armor-class plate tank. Just get your SKs, pallies, and warrs to pick one up and you should be fine.

A Parasite Larvae - Hit about 300-400, only two so are fairly easy. Unslowable unmezzable. Unlike the previous 6 waves, these two spawn under the belly of the Burrower Beast. If you neglect to pull them out you risk having to kill them at the same time as...

A Burrower Parasite - Our tank reported 400-500 hits while in defensive, and average out of disc around 700-800, max barely over 1k but rare. This fella likes to flurry, and is unslowable, so saying that his straight melee makes it an easy fight is a stupid mistake. Zero rampage however. I would compare this fight to Avatar of War in strategy, but not difficulty. AoW has signifigantly more ATK and a 1400 max hit, which just tears through even the best tanks. Keep your cleric wheel tight and tell shaman to patch heal until you find what works to keep your tank up. We started with a 4s wheel, moved to 6s once we got in rhythm. Positioning is a little tough for this guy, there really isn't any corner to pin in. All the walls slope up, or curve. If you can, keep him away from the walls. Tell non-rogue melee to attack from the sides, MT and ST on front, and rogues in the back.

As for time... you can expect 5-6 minutes between each wave until the final pause before the boss wave which I recorded at a whopping 12 minutes of downtime. I have a feeling the time is not concrete, as I set it for 5 minutes and 6 minutes between each wave... I could never tell when the next wave would spawn with pinpoint accuracy, but was within 30 seconds.

All in all I would say this event is very much worth the effort, considering all you need to do is kill 15-20 blue and light blue trash Deep mobs to get to him, and then not much more than an hour doing the event itself.

Completed the quest last night on Stromm.
Guild raid had about 35-40 ppl with raid average 63.
Got whiped off on the first try by the Parasite, because we din't exactly know what to expect.
after CR fights went much smoother.
Waves of mobs were not a problem on both tries. Many drops of acrylia and cash items like Ruby Crown, Gems etc. DPS is essential as well as several high-end tanks and clerics on the raid. Starting from waves of 6, mobs are immune to mezz and slow, so "tank-mezing" is the way to handle them. Worms have alot of HP but nothing more than any other Luclin mob of similar level. All are pure melee. Most of the summon. Hits range from 150-ish (initial wave) to 450-ish (last two). Casters need to be cautios to avoid aggro, as well as "near-death-aggro" for tanks - happened twice, tank was summoned by 4 worms in a row and quickly died, when health went below 20 % on 2 occasions.

The final mob has ALOT of HPs. 800K is a good estimation. Practically immune to Poison and Desease based spells (nobody was able to land any poison or desease dots, though there was no "immune" message, just full resist).
The Parasite indeed has very small targeting "box", so pets are very useful against it, because they don't have problems with targeting :)
CH chain should be prepared for a very long and exausting fight. Several high-end warriors should be ready to chain-MT after Defensive discipline ends for a previous tank. The Parasite Flurries frequently, so the damage output spikes to a quite high level. Necros should sic the pet and start working as a mana-battery for clerics - their poisons and desease dots are fully resisted.
BeastLords, Shammies etc. should memorize Magic/Cold/Fire DD and cast away after MT grabs the aggro - seems to be much more efficient than their semi-pathetic melee output due to very high AC of the mob.

The fight is long, and if plate tanks go down - whipe out guaranteed. On our first attempt 6 plate tanks were killed faster that CH-chain could stitch from one to another. On the second attemt we finished the fight with our secondary tank still standing . Also, there is enough time to "battle-rezz" tanks if they die, just be prepared to quicky handle such situation.

3 waves of 6 Core Burrowers (Enrage)
2 Parasite Larvae (Flurry, Enrage)
1 a burrower parasite (Flurry, Rampage, Enrage)

You have 1 min once entering the room to get ready before first spawn. All waves from then on are 5 mins apart until the 2 spawn which is 6 min and the final spawn is 9mins, so plenty of downtime between fights.

if you read what i said i didnt say that you get that time between fights. I said that was time between waves. Also if a raid with avg of 64 wiped its for 1 or 2 reasons.
1 you lack DPS or tanks
2 you are too unorganized to do a ring event.

My guild used to do this all the time and it is very easy with only 30 or so people.

So put away your BS flag cause this isnt hard.

On this map, look at the 2 chambers on the west side of the chasm in the middle. The room in the South West (next to the one way zone out to ssratemple) is where the Thought Horror Overfiend lives, the other, is the room where the burrower lives. When you enter that room, the ring event begins.

The trigger point is in the burrower's room. His spawn is triggered by killing him. You can also trigger his spawn cycle by reseting the zone. In other words, you don't do anything and he grows to maturity on his own.

# Jun 25 2002 at 11:00 AM Rating: Decent
Hi, i'm member of a guild on karana server. We are about 6-7 full groups of 51+ if there is most of the people are online. Unfortunately, we only got 1 55+ necro but a lot of high priests and melees. Do you think we can get it out easily?

I need to know all the infos you can give that haven't been given in the last posts. How to turn in the ring of fire? What is the respawn time? etc...

Thanks for your answers !

This guy is almost as hard as AoW (overall - and yes I have done this and AoW). There are four waves of maybe 10 or 15 mobs at a time coming from all corners, the mobs being maybe around level 55 or so and then after those are two waves of mobs (same amount) levels 58 59 about that flurry (similar to flurry drakes in ntov), and then one wave of two level 61-62 mobs that you fight at the same time (flurry etc...). After that you fight burrower which is about 10 minute fight with a very strong guild *edit* and hits for over 1000 (non-warriors that don't have defensive hehe 8D) *edit*. There are issues with getting in the right spot to melee him (there are with most luclin worms) so you use ignite bones to make him an easier target (a skelly)... I didn't have much of a problem with this cause I use bow for this hehe ;).

No you cannot kill him with only one level 55+ person in your guild, the majority should be level 60.

This is a progessive fight, not just one big worm.

You will be hit with waves of worms, lots of small wimpy ones at first, and gradually they become harder and largeer till you fight this big guy in the picture above.

I can GUARANTEE you will not be able to take him out with low 50's. It will take roughly the same numbers you mentioned but all lvl 60

Its the same for all the larger Luclin worms/burrowers....you have to be in JUST the right spot along its length or you cant hit! The coding for this particular type mob is screwed up. Try fighting the big worm in ME, or the big burrowers in Akheva and its the same.

That was unnesecary, the fact that it IS a nice picture remains and it is quite a unique event that sharing it with the rest of EverQuest players should be rewarded, i also think it is a nice picture good job whoever took it
